Oh, god, i love this movie. I have never known anyone so thrilled by this film. Oh, come on. Cary grant rescues ingrid bergman, and the nazis are thwarted, and the moment that he goes back inside, claude rains is a dead man. It’s the — what’s not to love? It’s so good. And watching scott go after michael on the stand, it made my stomach sick, sonny, in part because of what I set in motion, and in part because I was sure… …that I’d lose you over it. I haven’t talked to sonny since nina’s visitation hearing, and I won’t go into the gory details. But nina had her lawyer, scott baldwin, accuse michael of being violent towards women. Oh, my god! Can you believe that? I-I heard that, and I am so — I am so incredibly sorry. I mean, it was awful. But what was truly indefensible was that sonny was in the courtroom. He heard everything. And when it was over, he comforted nina. You must have felt so betrayed.
[ Chuckles ] Yeah. Furious. And, um… devastated. And now? Weirdly grateful.
When michael was done with his testimony and the judge called for a recess because she wanted to talk to diane and scott in chambers, I — I stood up and, um, felt so alone, and I turned around, and there you were on the plaintiff’s side, on my side. I remember. And then I saw you, and you looked so stoic. And I had no idea what you were feeling. I was afraid that you were gonna tear into me. I did — I had — there was a lot of, you know, that was going — a lot of stuff happening. I mean, I was angry at baldwin for going after michael. I was disappointed in michael for going after you. And then baldwin had to go after michael. It’s just — it was a lot. Yeah, it was ugly. I wanted to play fair. I wanted to just let everyone cool down until michael and willow allowed me to see wiley.
