THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

a reflection that last monday of 2021. Is this hot enough for you?

[ Breathing heavily ] I have been single for way too long.

[ Grunts, panting ] If this is what staying in shape in 2022 feels like, I might have to consider confinement again. Supposed to be a nice, total-body workout. Yeah. Uh-huh. Yeah, it’s supposed to get you nice and limber, which is weird because I don’t think I can get up.

[ Laughs ] Well, forget being limber, man. That was torture. Pure torture and nothing worse. Really? Nothing? What are these for? These, dr. Johnson… nurse johnson. …Are an expression of gratitude…

[ Chuckles ] …For sharing your dulcet tones with me, the staff, and the patients of general hospital. Now… when can we do it again?

[ Chuckles ] Oh. Ooh. Hi, curtis. Hey, maxie. Oh, hi, chase. Excuse me. Maxie, what are — hey. What are you doing? How was class? It was exhausting. Yeah, that’s one reason I hate hot yoga. You probably are dehydrated. Yeah, probably. So, um…how’s bailey? Oh, bailey, she’s — she’s amazing. Yeah? Yeah, she’s doing this new thing where she feeds herself. Or she’s trying to, which makes for a hilarious and very messy mealtime. Oh, I would love to see that. You should come by the house. I say like I live at the quartermaines’.

[ Chuckles ] Um, I’m actually headed there now, as long as brook lynn doesn’t have a problem with it. Why would she? You never know with her lately. I’ll see you around. Yeah, see ya. Ooh, they should really air this place out after these hot yoga classes. What? I’m sorry. You mean the nose of deception can’t smell how dank it is in here? I hadn’t noticed. Mm. Where’s lucy? Oh, well… we had just ordered breakfast, and she bolted. Something about exercise, I think. You don’t say.

[ Fork clatters ] Alright. Go on. What? You are sitting there dying to flex your sisterly muscles and to warn me off the delightful ms. Coe. Nope. Unh-unh. I-I don’t have any sisterly advice for you at all. Nope. In fact, I have to go focus on being a grandmother. I wonder what I should pack for our cabin getaway. I mean, does sonny’s place have a hot tub or a sauna? I don’t know. I’ve never been to uncle sonny’s cabin. Besides, don’t you think it’s a little early to think about packing? I’m just excited. Aren’t you? It’s a little hard to get excited about a trip knowing that as soon as it’s over, so is my life. Do you vow to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth so help you god? I do.

Trouble at the mall? Hmm. Oh, what fun it is to laugh. The holiday spirit lingers this year, not that it had anything to do with you. What is it now? “What is it now?” Well, let me put it this way, I guess my gift must’ve gotten lost in the mail. Clients don’t give gifts. Clients receive gifts. Ah, is that it? Well, 1,000 “forgive mes.” My bad. It is such a bitch to get all the holiday shopping in while you’re busy avoiding death. Oh, speaking of, congratulations. For being alive? Yeah. If cyrus didn’t kill you, I thought for sure laura would.

[ Chuckles ] A hardy humbug to you, too, valentin.

[ Chuckles ]

[ Sighs ] When was the last time you slept in like this? High school? Please don’t get on my case, dad. I was up late with bailey, and then when I finally got to bed, all I could do was… …toss…

[ Grunting ] …And… …turn. Where is the oat milk in this house?

[ Clears throat ] Bad dreams? Something like that. What are you even still doing here? I thought you and olivia had an appointment with leo’s doctor. Soon. But I always have some time for my one and only daughter… aww. …And the mess she’s made of her one and only life. I had hoped that your turkey day revenge would dull the pain of losing bailey, but I don’t think there’s a slice of elq big enough to make up for the love of a child. No. I’m sorry, valentin, both that you went through it, and that I wasn’t here while you did. Brook lynn hurt me. Worse, she hurt my daughter, charlotte, and I want to make sure she pays a price for that. That’s my boy. Do you want to order some breakfast and dream up some new, dastardly ways to even the score? I do, but right now I have other matters on my plate. I don’t think so. You’ve been going through a lot. So much stress. This weekend away will be good for you. For both of us. I mean, when was the last time we had any privacy? Yeah, it feels like it’s been ages. We could really use some time behind closed doors, don’t you think? So, what’s today’s special? What the hell is scott trying to pull now? He’s looking to undercut the charges by going after the D.A.’S credibility.

[ Scoffs ] Turn the attention away from nina and onto me, but did he have to use willow? Hey, willow — she’ll be fine. No, yeah, she will be, but scott won’t, not when I’m through with him. Sorry for springing this on you. I just want to address opposing counsel’s accusations. Okay. Have you ever donated to my campaign for pennsylvania attorney general? No. My previous campaigns for llantano county district attorney? No. Prior to today, have you ever met me? In october. At the home I share with my son and his father, michael corinthos. Ms. Tait, can you describe to the court the nature of that meeting? I arrived home to find you and michael speaking. Do you remember the subject? Your shared values. Mm. What else? There were introductions. And then you had to get back to llanview. At any time during that meeting, did you come to know that michael corinthos had in any way pressed me to bring a case against the defendant? No. Thank you for clearing that up. No further questions, your honor. Does the defense have questions for the witness? Yeah. One or two.

corinthos coffee. Yeah. Not much to choose from in these parts. Oh, I’m not complaining. It’s nice to come back and have at least one thing unchanged. So, tell me, is the, uh, thrill of your homecoming, is it wearing off a bit? Hmm. Not the scout part. Man, seeing scout is… as thrilling as ever every single time. And after only talking to the guards and myself for over two years, having a conversation with a normal person is —

[Chuckles] It’s quite a trip. But the rest? I can only sit on my butt at monica’s for so long, man. I gotta — I gotta do something with my life. I got to be productive, you know? But I just — I just have no idea where to start. What about aurora media? You mean the company that sam and I created together for a fresh start? Alright, good point. And there’s no place for you at elq? Well, I’d have to find a good therapist first.

[ Chuckles ] Thanks to you, though, I do have something to occupy my time. I’ve been thinking about your marshall project.

[ Sighs ] I’m listening. I may have come up with an angle. I thought these flowers were to say “thank you.” They are, but I was also, uh, hoping to, you know, soften you up for my proposition. And what kind of proposition is that? I had a beautiful time last night. So did I. Yeah, yeah, I thought so, but you didn’t stick around to say so. I-I thought it was obvious.

[ Chuckles ] Maybe. Maybe you’re just more inclined to express yourself through song rather than word.

[ Laughs ] You will soon learn that I have no problem speaking my mind…

[ Chuckles ]

…If you stick around. Oh, I, uh — I plan to. Epiphany… …I think we make beautiful music together. So I wanted to ask you… yes? …How would you feel about joining my band? I knew I should’ve put “dad’s empathy” on my christmas list. That’s not what I meant. You know, why is it we can’t even go one week without you coming down on me? Brook lynn — you’re always with the mess, like I don’t know I have issues, like — like I need you to point it out, like I’m not trying to make my life better, and you, of all people, by the way, should be talking about mess. I mean, what’s going on with you and olivia? Are you guys even in the same bed now? In the same room? In the same wing? You’re right. What? I am the standard bearer for messes in this family. You are an amateur by comparison. I’m confused. And if you have any issues, it’s — well, it’s in large part because of me. Dad. No, it’s true. I mean, what kind of example have I set when it comes to relationships? Or when it comes to… well, anything, actually. And I’m sorry for my choice of words. I thought “mess” was an objective take and something that we both have in common. So now we’re bonding over our mutual chaos? Yes. And maybe we can come up with some solutions. I have been working on things with olivia. I know you have. And I’ve been doing some thinking about your…situation with chase, and, in my opinion, you need to get out in front of this, okay? Make sure that chase doesn’t hold bailey over your head like valentin did.

[ Chase clears throat ] You referred to michael as the father of your son, the man you live with. Not married. No. That’s kind of a-a modern arrangement. D.A. Sheridan: Relevance, your honor? Stick to the point, mr. Baldwin. Did you and michael revisit the subject of the D.A.’S visit after he left? It’s come up. Did you take it for face value, just two guys shooting the breeze about values and whatnot? I wondered if there was more to it. Well, did that wondering get the best of you? Did you ask michael? I thought my conversations with michael are protected. They’re not. Spousal privilege does not apply to co-parenting. You know what does apply to just about everyone? Penalty for perjury.

[Upbeat acoustic music throughout] Well, the timing of this ipo could be better. Do you think we should postpone until sasha’s had time to grieve? I can’t imagine she could work right now. I don’t even know how she’s functioning at all, to be honest. Ommmm. Guess what… I want for christmas? Oh-ommmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Mmm. You ready for another round?

[ Chuckles ]

[ Breathing heavily ] Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Let’s just say… I’ve noticed you. Well, then let’s just say… that I’ve noticed you, too. Ommmmmmmm. Martin.

[ Panting ] What was that, now? Just out of curiosity, who should I be more concerned for — anna or victor? Victor. Definitely. Eyes on me.

[ Scoffs ] It’s a wonder anyone’s eyes are ever off you…

[ Chuckles ] …My son’s in particular. Tell me, anna, what exactly is the nature of your relationship? Oh, I don’t know. I think that falls under the category of none of your damn business. Oh, cute. Yeah. Kind of like your stretching this morning that passed for a workout. What, you were at volonino’s?

[ Stammers ] I didn’t see you there. Oh, yeah, I’m everywhere. I was at the bodega where you picked up the invader, and the — what else were you picking up? Oh, mints. Oh, that is very considerate. And then I was also at kelly’s when you were visiting spencer, right? You’re following me. I am, yes. You see, port charles is my home, so from here on out, I will be your shadow. You step out of line, and I will be there to deal with you. The way you dealt with peter? Spencer: I brewed it myself. I see you’ve learned your way around the coffee maker.Mm-hmm. He’s doing a great job here, grandmother. Oh. Sorry. I meant “mayor.” Uh, laura is fine… for now. So, spencer, kevin keeps telling me that he’s seen this wonderful shift in you, and I don’t know if it’s because of this job or it’s just a byproduct of having been caught. Here it comes. Here what comes? Well, I knew it was too good to last. Christmas is gone, and so is the peace. Now it’s time to let me have it. Spencer. So how disappointed are you? Or have you already moved past that and on to hate just like my father? Do you want me to give you a little refresher course in the consequences of lying in court? That won’t be necessary. Michael told me that, like many businesses, his family’s company seeks relationships with political figures. Yes, the evidence shows that, uh, the district attorney was given a huge chunk of money by you and michael. Objection. No such evidence has been offered. Ms. Tait has never made a donation to my campaign that I am aware of. Sustained. Well, elq made a huge donation to you before my client’s arrest. So what was expected from that donation in return? Like I said, I wasn’t privy to the conversation. But you must think that there was something — some– something that michael had said that he was gonna get something for his gift. Michael’s only interest was in justice. Justice for whom? His father. Nina kept sonny from his family for nine months. Well, did you not expect that, uh, michael was going to get the D.A. To pursue charges against my client for that donation? Objection. We’re getting awfully close to badgering here, your honor. Sustained. Is it not your understanding that the D.A. Was going to bring charges against nina reeves for the hefty elq donation to the D.A.? Whatever was said between michael and D.A. Sheridan is between them. As far as I am aware, the contribution was entirely aboveboard and legal. Legal. It’s funny that you should bring that up because that’s what we’re trying to get to. Does the charges against nina — does it even merit a trial or should they just be tossed out? That was possibly an act of heroism. Heroism? Yeah, do you have any reason to believe that the alleged victim, sonny corinthos — did he see himself as a victim at all? Plaque psoriasis, the burning, itching. The pain. Emerge tremfyant. With tremfya, adults with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis… …can uncover clearer skin and improve symptoms at 16 weeks. Serious allerg ic reactions may occur. Tremfya may increase your risk of infections and lower your ability to fight them. Tell your doctor if you have an infection or symptoms or if you had a vaccine or plan to. Emerge tremfyant with tremfya… ask you doctor about tremfya today. We’re eating and drinking foods and beverages that are very acidic. It can soften the enamel. Pronamel repair, what it’s doing is driving more minerals deep into the enamel surface, that’s going to help actively repair. Pronamel is taking it to another level. Liz, you nerd, cough if you’re in here! Shh! I took mucinex dm for my phlegmy cough. What about rob’s dry cough? Works on that too, and lasts 12 hours. 12 hours?! Who studies that long? Mucinex dm relieves wet and dry coughs. You’ll forgive me if I find your threats a little lacking in substance. You see, as I understand it, you’ve had, well, multiple opportunities to put an end to peter’s reign of terror, yet every single time, you’ve backed off, which, frankly, confounds me. Hmm. I’ve read your file, anna. Oh, have you? Your no-nonsense reputation is well-earned. Thank you. Yet here you are still testing me. Oh, by living my life? No, by imposing yourself on valentin. Ha! And we’ve come full circle. You really do care for him, don’t you? And while I am truly gratified by your attachment to my son, I suspect valentin is even more so. You’re putting together a band? Yes. And I would be honored to land you as lead vocal. I think our chemistry is off the charts, don’t you? It was just one performance. Exactly, and it could take people weeks, sometimes months to gel like that. But there we were, total strangers, nowhere near a studio or anything resembling a stage, playing holiday tunes, and still… it was a natural fit. So I got to talking with the other musicians afterwards, and we all thought, “why not give it a shot?” Just get together for at least one day, one day, and feel out something that doesn’t sound like it’s wrapped in tinsel.

[ Laughs ] Come on. What do you say? You haven’t been able to find much on marshall ashford, right? He’s got zero digital footprint, and if my mother owned any property that was related to him, she parted ways with it a long time ago. Civic documents? Birth certificates, um, educational records, but they all dried up shortly after he married my mom. I’m no P.I., But that does seem strange. Very. It suggests that he lived another life before he showed up here, or that someone went to great lengths to erase all traces of him. So maybe it’s time that we stop looking for marshall ashford… and start looking for the man he was pretending to be. Why would scott bother willow with any of this? D.A. Sheridan: Your honor, this is clearly a fishing expedition that’s going nowhere. I don’t know. Scott: I beg to differ. Ms. Tait is very close to the crime. That’s why the prosecutor called her. So I think she might possess a different perspective here, one you might want to consider, your honor, before this goes to trial. I’ll allow it, but keep it moving. Would you like me to repeat the question? No. To my knowledge, sonny corinthos is no one’s victim. Let me rephrase it, then. Now mr. Corinthos, he testified that he didn’t bring charges against nina because he wanted to, and I quote, move on with his life. He lost enough time with his wife and family. Do — do you think that he left anything out? Objection. Could that be more vague?

[ Sighs ] Get where you’re going, mr. Baldwin. Make it fast, and make it direct. Well, do you think mr. Corinthos had, you know, some sort of unstated motivation as to not sic the state on nina reeves?

Spencer, I could never hate you. Am I disappointed? Absolutely. You put your father and ava and — and ava’s daughter through a living nightmare. Avery was never in any danger. She was kept from her mother because of what you did. Don’t make excuses. Don’T. That makes everything worse. What you did was horrible. Spencer didn’t do it alone. He had help. From me. Because you were trying to be supportive. Still, I went overboard and should’ve exercised better judgment. That’s an understatement. I’ve learned my lesson, grandmother. Have you, though? Really? You don’t believe me? I want to believe you, spencer, but the fact that you’ve thrown in with your uncle victor makes me wonder. Victor’s sudden revelation that I am, in fact, a cassadine has got me wondering if there might be some wiggle room in the will. What will? Mikkos’? The one that got ava thrown off the parapet? That will? If I can avail myself of some of the fortune that nikolas stole after all, that would be a terrific happy ending, wouldn’t it? I’ll look into it. Good. If I were you, I would just focus on victor. You know, shake the tree a little, see what comes loose. I can handle victor, and it looks like anna can, as well. Hmm. How are things with ms. Devane? Asking for a friend, are we? Oh, no. I’m not throwing my hat in the ring. Good. You’d lose. You’d lose. Ah, there’s no need to fighta duel over it, valentin. With all due respect to anna, I’ve decided to move on. Martin grey? Namaste. Would you keep your voice down, please? Oh, sorry! I had no idea you were interested in him. Neither did I. Tell me what happened. Okay, um, well, it sort of just fell into my lap. No, I fell into his lap, and then the rest is sort of history. Good history? It w– so fun. Get it, girl.

[ Laughs ] I hope you’re not offended. Uh, you just compared chase to a cassadine. You come out far ahead in any comparison. Yeah, light years ahead. But valentin has already started his retaliation for the lie about bailey, okay, and more is sure to come. Your point? Children bring out the best and the worst in people, and I would hate to see my granddaughter used once again as a weapon between warring parents. Chase: I understand. I’d hate for that to happen, too. Good. Then my suggestion to the two of you is that you sit down together with lawyers and iron out your respective roles in bailey’s life. The clearer you are now, the less room for conflict moving forward. Makes sense? It’s all about the boundaries. Rack your brain a little. Scott, stop. No. Do — do you know any reason why mr. Corinthos would not file charges against the woman who allegedly kept him away from his family? I’m not in sonny’s head. I-I can’t tell you all his reasons. One reason. Scott, no. One singular reason. No! Quiet.

[ Sighs ] Did sonny corinthos… why did he not want restitution? Let’s go. Now? Scott: Well, it’s worth mentioning… we need — we need to talk. …In pennsylvania, the penalty for perjury runs as high as seven years in prison… I got to tell you something. I don’t want to go. …Seven years for perjury behind bars in another state away from your family. How old do you think your son will be when you get out? Yes! “Yes,” what? Yes. There is another reason why mr. Corinthos did not go after nina. The world is full of make or break moments. Especially if you have postmenopausal osteoporosis and a high risk for fracture, it’s time to make your move to help reduce your risk of fracture with prolia. Only prolia is proven to help strengthen and protect bones from fracture with 1 shot every 6 months. Do not take prolia if you have low blood calcium, are pregnant, are allergic to it, or take xgeva. Serious allergic reactions like low blood pressure, trouble breathing, throat tightness, face, lip or tongue swelling, rash, itching or hives have happened. Tell your doctor about dental problems, as severe jaw bone problems may happen or new or unusual pain in your hip, groin, or thigh, as unusual thigh bone fractures have occurred. Speak to your doctor before stopping, skipping or delaying prolia, as spine and other bone fractures have occurred. Prolia can cause serious side effects, like low blood calcium, serious infections, which could need hospitalization, skin problems, and severe bone, joint, or muscle pain. Don’t wait for a break. Call your doctor now and ask how prolia can help you. Do you struggle with occasional nerve aches in your hands or feet? Try nervivenerve relief from the world’s #1 selling nerve care company. Nervive contains alpha lipoic acid to relieve occasional nerve aches, weakness and discomfort. Try nervivenerve relief. Kids can change minds, they can even change the world around us. Packed with proteinplus 21 vitamins and minerals we nourish them with carnation breakfast essentials because today could chan ge everything.

My name’s caleb. What’s yours? I’m grace! Did you just move here? Yeah! Cool! (Swords clashing) -had enough? -No… arthritis. Here. Aspercreme arthritis. Fu ll prescription-strength?Reduces inflammation? Thank the gods. Don’t thank them too soon.

Kick pain in the aspercreme. When they’re sick, they get comfortable anywhere and spread germs everywhere. Wherever they rest protection nothing kills more viruses, including the covid-19 virus, on more surfaces than lysol disinfectant spray. Lysol. What it takes to protect. This is a hero, walking his youngest down the aisle, which to his bladder, feels like a mile. Yet he stands strong, dry, keeping the leaks only to his eyes. Depend. The only thing stronger than us, is you. I don’t have much time to devote to a band. We’ll work around your schedule. My shifts are all over the place. Is this your polite way of saying no? I-I-it’s not a no or a yes. It’s just that, uh… I got a little turned around when you said “proposition.” That’s all. Oh. Oh. You thought I was asking you out. My mistake. Oh, no. No, no, no. Look, look, for the record, if I were to ask out, hey, a-a virtual stranger, I doubt — I sincerely doubt I could aim higher than you.

[ Chuckles ] But the truth is, I… I don’t date. And I-I haven’t in a long time. And the fact is, I… I really wasn’t very good at it. But if I could ever interest you in a jam session… it’s possible. Depends on my schedule. Well, then you just follow the music.

[ Both chuckle ] I know he has several aliases, and, uh, he’s probably lived under several dozen rocks over the decades, but I have no leads, and the guy is not forthcoming with information. So you’ve asked? More like demanded. But, you know, the more he said nothing or talked around the answers I wanted, I just got so pissed — that you just shut right down. Yeah. So if I go in there all curious and nice, he’ll be suspicious. Well, then, let me try. Let me do the digging. You just play it straight. How? We can’t get a lead on marshall’s missing years, so we need him to cough one up. Okay. We lay a job in his path, something that’s just way too good to resist. He’s gonna have to put down a social security number or a reference, something. Now, real or fake, it doesn’t really matter. Just gives us someplace to start.

[ Sighs ] A job. That’s good. Now, you do know this means you’re gonna have to deal with aurora or elq. You let me deal with that. So now I just wonder what kind of gig you would put out there as a lure, because, as far as I know, all the guy does is music. Well, believe it or not, music is something that my family knows. Brook lynn: Are you done with your very practical and extremely mercenary advice? I am. Great. Now, you should go. You don’t want to be late for your appointment. Okay, so I will provide your counsel, and, uh, you let us know when you’ve found yourself a lawyer. I’m so sorry about my dad butting in like that, but, to be fair, it’s sort of family tradition. I think ned’s being smart. You do? Yeah. And I would get a lawyer if I were actually working and I could actually pay for one. And if bailey were actually mine. But I-I do agree with the boundaries. I will do whatever it takes to keep up appearances for both maxie and the baby, but when it comes to us, just let me know how much space you need. I’ll give it to you. Ommm. The eternal, earth, air, heaven, that glory, that resplendence of the sun.

[ Whispering ] Is there going to be a second round? I don’t know. I mean, we kind of talked about it, but it’s casual, and I don’t want to make any assumptions. But you would like there to be, right? Excuse me, ladies. Yeah. Let’s focus on centering our breathing, yes? Oh, okay. Do you want to get out of here and grab a latte so we could chat? Yes, I do. Let’s go. Namaste. Valentin: Lucy coe? Wishing you could trade places, are you? No, I’m wishing I had a lawyer with more common sense. I’m sorry. Lucy coe is my business partner. We’re about to take deception public. That’s gonna make me, that’s gonna make lucy, that’s gonna make you a lot of money. Still not seeing the problem. Okay. Okay. You cannot effectively represent me and my best interests if you are sleeping with lucy coe, who, by the way, is notorious for getting the better of her lovers. So if she gets the better of you, she’s gonna get the better of me. So you can have me or you can have lucy. You cannot have both. So, I will be keeping an eye on you. Well, now, isn’t that a little superfluous given my deal with the wsb? I’m not beholden to that deal. So I strenuously advise you to behave yourself. Or? You read my file. You tell me. Uncle victor is the only reason that I’m going to spring ridge instead of pentonville. And I’m grateful for that. I am. I just wish that I didn’t have victor to thank for it. Spencer, you know you messed up, right? Yes, yes. Okay, good. Good. And your job now is to make amends. I know. Okay, I want to see that. I don’t want just lip service.

[ Bell dings ] I have to get that. Don’t worry. Once spence gets out of spring ridge, he’ll have plenty of people to keep him on the straight and narrow. Me, kevin, you. One big, happy family. Let’s get out of here. Why, sonny? D.A. Sheridan: Objection, your honor. Mr. Baldwin has gone far beyond a fishing expedition. What is willow gonna say? He’s threatening ms. Tait with perjury when she hasn’t been deposed, and there’s no indication she knows anything germane to these proceedings. Overruled. I want to see where this is going. Whenever you’re ready. A F… a few weeks ago… I over…

[ Sighs ] I overheard nina and sonny in a conversation at general hospital. Out in the open? In the chapel. So it was just the two of them? Yes. What was said in this conversation? I… I wasn’t — I-I wasn’t there for all of it. Well, the part that you were there for, did mr. Corinthos touch on the nature of his relationship with ms. Reeves? He did. D.A. Sheridan: Hearsay, your honor. Overruled. Could you be more specific? I-I-I… I overheard sonny say, “whatever happened between us in nixon falls, it has to come from me, and it will.” What was that, ms. Tait? What was between the accused and the alleged victim? Love.
