Chelsea: Abby!

Abby: Chelsea? Hi! Oh, my gosh, welcome back. How are you?

Chelsea: Never been better.

Abby: I am so glad to see you.

Chelsea: I’ +++a[Tiuuu know, you understand. I heard that chance is back safe and sound. You must so happy your family’s reunited.

Abby: Yeah.

Dominic: [ Cries ]

Chelsea: Right?

Abby: [ Laughs ]

Chelsea: He’s happy, too.

Adam: Chance.

Chance: Adam.

Adam: It’s good to see you. I’m sure your safe return was the best christmas present abby could’ve hoped for.

Chance: Yeah, it was a — was a special holiday, one we’ll never forget.

Adam: Yeah, absolutely. Well, I’m glad that you’re back home, safe and healthy.

Chance: I appreciate that. We must have just missed you at the ranch. We stopped by to drop off some gifts, see nikki and victor.

Adam: I’m sorry.

Chance: About what?

Adam: Well, I was gonna attend your welcome home party, but…

Chance: I understand.

Adam: No, we were gonna come by the house and bring some gifts, but honestly, I didn’t know if I was someone you wanted to see.

Elena: Sharon. Just the person I was looking for.

Sharon: Oh, well, that phrase can sound ominous, but coming from you, sounds like a delightful invitation.

Elena: Yeah, I keep missing you. Our schedules this holiday season haven’t aligned.

Sharon: It’s such a hectic time of the year. I hope you and nate had a nice christmas.

Elena: We did. Actually, that is part of the reason why I wanted to talk to you. But I didn’t want to do it over the phone.

Sharon: Oh, what’s going on?

Elena: I have to give notice on the apartment upstairs.

Sharon: What? Is everything okay?

Elena: Yeah, everything’s great, actually. Nate and I decided to move in together.

Sharon: [ Gasps ]

Devon: Hi.

Nate: Hey.

Devon: What are you doing, man? Figured you’d be clearing stuff out of your place to make room for elena.

Nate: [ Laughs ]

Devon: Come in.

Nate: Okay, are you implying I have junk that I need to get rid of?

Devon: No, I’m not implying anything. I’m saying it.

Nate: Well, I’ll have you know that I just dropped off several bags of clothes at the new hope donation center.

Devon: Oh, wow. That’s very nice of you. Did you get rid of those ugly purple lamps you have?

Nate: No, those were expensive. I kept them.

Devon: However much you paid, they ripped you off. Elena’s gonna throw those things away the first day she gets there.

Nate: I am so glad I came by here to check in on you, so i could get critiqued about my interior decorating skills.

Devon: Well, why’d you feel the need to come and check on me?

Nate: Because you seemed down at christmas dinner. A bit distracted. And we know that’s not like you on the holidays. So thought I’d come by, see how you were doing. I brought in ensure max protein,

provided by…

Devon: I mean, I may have been a little bit distracted.

Nate: A little? Seems like your mind was someplace else the whole day.

Devon: Nah, I mean, it was — I’ve just been thinking about dominic a lot and how it’s his first christmas and all that, you know? I’m surprised you noticed anything, as much as you guys were talking about moving in together.

Nate: We weren’t that bad. Does it bother you, elena and i moving in together

Devon: Should it? I’m just messing with you. No, it doesn’t bother me at all. I’m very happy — happy that you guys are happy and that we’ve moved past everything that’s happened. It’s good news. It’s a good way to start the new year.

Nate: Amen to that. So you were saying it was dominic, the reason why you were distracted at christmas.

Devon: Yeah, that’s right.

Nate: Does having this footprints in your living room help with that distraction or make it worse?

Devon: I mean, it’s just a thoughtful gift that abby got me.

Nate: Okay. I was just asking. I mean, we haven’t had a one-on-one since the baby went back home. How are you doing with that?

Devon: I’m doing alright. It’s an adjustment, but he belongs with his mom and dad, so…

Nate: Come on, man. You just gave me the correct answer. But I know that’s not how you really feel about all this.

Devon: You do? You think I’m lying?

Nate: No, no, but maybe you haven’t really had a chance to examine how you feel about this.

Devon: Oh, no, I have, for sure. I know exactly how I feel. I miss him.

Nate: Okay, what exactly do you miss? The diaper changes, the late-night feedings? Total sleep deprivation?

Devon: Everything. Everything that you could list, I miss it. And I can’t help it. From the day that dominic was born, I felt a connection to him, and him staying with me just made that connection even stronger. Kind of changed the way I felt about the whole situation. I’m struggling a little bit with just not having a more constant role in his life right now.

Nate: In that case, I think you should do something about it.

Abby: Just a month ago, i wasn’t sure if chance was ever gonna get to meet his son. It’s such a miracle that he’s back with us.

Chelsea: Oh. I want to believe in miracles like yours, but I’m not quite sure my return to genoa city will have the same kind of happy ending.

Abby: You went through a rough patch. You were in a rough place for a while, but that’s behind you now, right?

Chelsea: Uh, I’d like to think the worst part is behind, but I still face my fair share of challenges. I’m not sure how people are gonna react to me being back. Maybe I haven’t burned every bridge, but I certainly set a few fires.

Abby: I think people will forgive you.

Chelsea: I don’t know. I mean, I wasn’t even certain i was gonna come back. In the past, people were willing to forgive my lapses in judgment. I don’t know. I don’t know if they’re gonna be willing to forgive me. Regardless, as long as I can spend time with my son, if I’m shunned by a few people in genoa city, so be it.

Abby: Well, I think you made the right choice. You should be here with your son, and no one in this town, especially my family, should be judging you. And if anyone gives you a hard time, let me know.

Chelsea: Really? You’re gonna be my defender?

Abby: Oh, absolutely. So how does it feel to be back here?

Chelsea: It’s an adjustment. There are some bad memories, but christmas was nice.

Abby: Just you and connor?

Chelsea: And adam.

Abby: Oh.

Chelsea: Yeah, we thought it would be nice for connor to spend the holidays with both his parents. He was so happy, so it was definitely the right decision.

Abby: You know, I have to admit, I’m impressed with the way adam’s turned his life around.

Chelsea: Yeah, he’s really great with connor, and he’s been surprisingly considerate with me. I wasn’t expecting that.

Abby: So what does that mean for the two of you as a couple? Any possibilities?

Chance: Thank you. Yeah, the party was a bit of a blur. You know, I had just gotten back, wasn’t fully recovered, so it was a little overwhelming. Not gonna lie. I was being welcomed back for being a hero, but sure didn’t feel that way.

Adam: You mean I could’ve told you I was at the party and you wouldn’t remember whether i was there or not?

Chance: [ Chuckles ] Yeah, I suppose that’s true.

Adam: Well, I hope you and abby had a merry christmas with the baby.

Chance: Yeah, yeah. Thank you. It was a special one.

Adam: Mm. Connor actually has a gift for him. Maybe we could stop by sometime.

Chance: Yeah. Yeah, it’d be good to see connor. Abby would like that. Whenever you get a chance, come by. I hear you’re pretty busy these days, though, huh? Newman media.

Adam: That’s right.

Chance: Alright. And abby said that you had to step up and play the single parent when chelsea was gone. Looks like you’ve made some changes in life. Probably for the better.

Adam: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Well, that’s nice of abby to paint me in a positive light, but I’m sure you still have your doubts. I mean, last time we saw each other, you said we couldn’t be friends anymore.

Chance: Yeah, I remember.

Adam: Look, honestly, i deserved that, and I’m trying hard to redeem myself. I can’t right my wrongs, but i can just try to be a better person.

Chance: And how’s that going?

Adam: [ Chuckles ] Well, I think. Got a long way to go, but I’ve made a lot of progress, especially with my family. There’s a lot of people in genoa city I have to earn their trust again. You’re at the top of that list.

Chance: No, you don’t owe me anything.

Adam: Well, how about a cup of coffee? How about we start with that?

Chance: I should probably get out of here, man. Abby’s waiting. You know what? I got time. It’s the holidays. Why not?

Itchy?

Adam: Thank you. So are you completely settled back in?

Chance: No, no, not quite, not quite. Still a little disorienting being back. Not gonna lie. It’s like going to the movie during the day. You know, you spend two hours in the theater, in the dark, in this, you know, world where you’re fighting aliens or whatever, and then when it’s over, you got to come out, back into the sunlight, back to reality.

Adam: Hmm.

Chance: Takes some time to adjust, I guess.

Adam: You gonna go back to the police department?

Chance: Taking it slow. I met with paul and rey the other day. They, uh — they want me to take my time. For once, I agree with them.

Adam: That seems smart. Well, your mission must have been difficult. I read a little bit about it, but those stories are usually a little short on details.

Chance: Well, that’s for everyone’s protection.

Adam: Mm. I know how difficult it was for you to go undercover in vegas.

Chance: I don’t want to talk about spain, adam. Maybe someday, but not now. All I want to focus on now is getting to know my son.

Chelsea: We definitely put each other through the worst, but somehow we’re still standing.

Abby: Getting through a traumatic experience and surviving, it can be stressful, but it can also build resilience.

Chelsea: Yeah. I’ve been trying to put my past behind me. Dwelling on it doesn’t help me or the people I harmed.

Abby: Adam’s changed, too. Maybe there’s a chance for the two of you to rebuild something.

Chelsea: That would be hard. But you never know.

Abby: I get it. But I do think it’s a step in the right direction that you co-parent so well together. And if I have learned anything the past few months, it’s the importance of family and unity. I’m not just talking about chance being back with dominic. It’s all of the relatives and friends that loved and supported me, it really helped me get through the whole ordeal.

Chelsea: Yeah. Well, it’s nice to have people that care around you.

Abby: Yeah. You know, I have loved catching up with you. We have to do it again soon.

Chelsea: Absolutely, for sure.

Abby: I’m gonna go talk to the chef about our new year’s eve menu, hopefully before this little guy gets cranky.

Chelsea: Great. I’ll be in touch. We’ll find a time to get together.

Abby: Let’s go, my man. Let’s do it.

Chelsea: Bye, cutie!

Abby: Say bye! Bye.

Sharon: That is such an amazing way to start the new year.

Elena: Oh, we think so.

Sharon: So, has this been in the works for a while?

Elena: No, actually. Nate just kind of asked me out of the blue, but things have been going so well, so I just give it a minute to think about.

Sharon: And, you know, you’re so analytical, I’m sure you looked at it from every angle.

Elena: Maybe I did. But it all made sense, so I said yes.

Sharon: [ Sighs ] I’m so happy for the both of you.

Elena: Thank you. I mean, I still have a couple of concerns. I mean, I’m a little worried about the overlap between private life and work.

Sharon: Yeah, but you already had that.

Elena: Yeah, but nate is technically my boss at the hospital.

Sharon: You’re in love. Stop making problems where there are none.

Elena: [ Chuckles ] Yeah, that’s the conclusion i eventually came to. I’m not willing to give up my job, and I’m not willing to give up nate. I mean, I love them both, so the world is just gonna have to deal with it.

Sharon: Ha! I’m so excited for both of you. And you know what? Don’t worry, every relationship has an issue or two that needs to be resolved, but at least you two know what your issue is already.

Elena: Oh, yeah. Finding balance between work and romance with the person that you spend 24 hours in a day with.

[ Chuckles ] I mean, I just — I don’t want to go home and talk about work — you know, cases and patients — over dinner.

Sharon: You know what? I have a little bit of advice for you if you want to hear it.

Devon: Yeah, I would love to play a bigger role in dominic’s life. Of course I would. I just don’t think that I need to do anything about it right now, ’cause as it stands, I can go and visit him any time i want. Abby made me his godfather, and I just — I just got done spending a bunch of time with dominic, so I think that now that chance is home, they need to take this time to bond.

Nate: I get that, but…i still think you should talk to them about spending more time with dominic. Make it official somehow.

Devon: Make it official. Amanda suggested that same thing to me, but I-I just don’t know if that’s the move right now. I really don’T. I don’t think inserting myself into their lives legally or anything like that is gonna help them heal from everything they’ve been through. And I went into this whole situation eyes wide open. I knew what to expect.

Nate: Okay, but you’ve developed a real attachment to dominic.

Devon: I know that, but it’s that attachment that makes me want to do what’s best for him. And I don’t feel like catching abby and chance off guard with something like this is what’s best.

Nate: I respect your concern for their family, but I think you have a spot in that same family. When you went into this arrangement, you didn’t expect to be the one delivering the baby or that abby would just leave him with you.

Devon: I mean, she didn’t abandon him.

Nate: I’m just saying, there have been unanticipated challenges outside of the original arrangement. And you’ve been supportive throughout. I think you’ve earned a right to spend more time with dominic, and most importantly, dominic will thrive with your continued love and support.

Unleash the freshness…

Chloe: So, how was christmas with connor?

Chelsea: It was perfect.

Chloe: That’s so great. Even with adam?

Chelsea: Yes. It was civil and pleasant. Connor was just happy to have both of us with him.

Chloe: I love to hear that. I’m just so happy to have you back.

Chelsea: Me too. Now let’s get to work.

Chloe: Yes.

Chelsea: What is the latest with the fashion platform?

Chloe: Okay, so we’ve been focused on creating content — articles highlighting some up-and-coming designers, trends, some photo layouts. So we’re about to start up our video production.

Chelsea: That’s great.

Chloe: But what I really want to get back into is design and sales. That’s the dream. And coincidentally, that’s what we do so well together.

Chelsea: Yeah, I’m excited to get back into designing, too. I’ve been working on some ideas, sketching out some looks.

Chloe: Great, that’s what i want to hear. We are in sync. Aren’t we? Are you having some concerns? Is that why you wanted to meet?

Chelsea: I had an interesting afternoon with adam and sally right before christmas.

Chloe: Oh. How did that happen and why wasn’t I invited?

Chelsea: It was here. I bumped into them having drinks. Adam invited me to join them.

Chloe: Well, that sounds promising. And professional. How did it go?

Chelsea: I can see why you hired her. She’s smart. Ambitious.

Chloe: Well, I am so glad that’s what you picked up on.

Chelsea: But she’s also a handful. There was definitely a sense of competition in the air.

Chloe: Maybe you misinterpreted —

Chelsea: No, no, she was trying to top my ideas while we were brainstorming.

Chloe: Okay, well, a little healthy competition isn’t a bad thing.

Chelsea: Yeah, healthy being the key word there. She was definitely trying to impress adam.

Chloe: He is the boss.

Chelsea: I guess, but it made me realize that if she’s gonna work for this company, I’m gonna have to make something clear to you. In order for me to be able to work with sally, I’m gonna have to be the boss. And I’m gonna need it in my contract.

Sally: Hi.

Tessa: Hello.

Sally: I’m sally spectra. We met at the newman wedding in tuscany.

Tessa: Yes, I remember.

Sally: Your performance that evening was amazing. I am such a huge fan.

Tessa: Well, thank you.

Sally: I get it. Nobody in this town is ever happy to see me, and that was reinforced over christmas, which I spent alone, so I’m trying to reach out and make some connections to people that i admire and respect.

Tessa: Oh. Am I one of those people?

Sally: Yes. I was a fan of yours way before the wedding. I actually remember seeing you on gc buzz for getting in trouble for taking some of the lines from mariah’s diary, putting them into a hit song.

Tessa: Well, that was a long time ago.

Sally: Yeah, but I felt a connection to you then. I —

[ Sighs ] You were maligned for doing exactly what an artist does, taking words and thoughts and turning them into something more meaningful, no matter where they came from or who the inspiration was.

Tessa: Well, thank you for that.

Sally: I mean, that’s all everyone can ever hope to be, right? Someone that channels their strengths as well as their flaws into making the world a better place. Which is exactly why I feel a kinship with you, ’cause that’s exactly what I try to do with my fashion designs.

Tessa: So you’re comparing your dresses and my songs.

Sally: Yes.

Adam: You know, I missed a lot of time with connor, and it hurt. When I came back, I mistakenly focused on all the things i wasn’t there for instead of enjoying my time with him.

Chance: Yeah, jack said something similar about kyle. Said he actually mourned all those things that he — that he missed, but I — I don’t know, man, it just feels different for me. I should’ve been here.

Adam: Every father thinks that.

Chance: I know, but I was thousands of miles away, thinking I was saving the world from bad guys, when I should’ve been here, protecting my family. I mean, you think that guy would’ve tried to kidnap mariah if I was here?

Adam: Look, I know all too well that guilt just keeps you rooted in the past. That stuff’s not gonna miraculously go away. You have to move forward. You have to focus on the future. That is the only way to get past what is holding you back. And dominic is your future. So just focus on the day-to-day stuff with him. Feed him, change him, give him a bath. That’s how you’ll create that bond.

Chance: I wish it would work like that, but…

Adam: But what?

Chance: [ Sighs ] It doesn’t matter. I’m just trying to take this one day at a time.

Adam: Chance, I am serious. Learn from my mistakes.

Chance: I appreciate the coffee, man. Abby’s waiting for me. I got to run. With downy infusions, let the scent set the mood.

“The young and the restless”

will continue.

Tessa: Most of my songs are about mariah and I’s relationship. Of course, with her permission.

Sally: That’s so romantic.

Tessa: Yeah, I don’t really write about personal experiences. It’s more about the emotions that I feel.

Sally: No, exactly, that’s — I channeled all of my feelings into wanting to get back on top after being counted out into my designs for victoria’s wedding dress.

Tessa: Oh, interesting. I kind of thought the whole point of a bridal gown was capturing the bride’s essence, not the designer’S.

Sally: No, you’re right. It is about the bride, but ambition is a trait that victoria and I both share.

Tessa: I’ll give you that.

Sally: You know, I — i always thought it would be really cool to design the wardrobe for a singer to wear on tour. It would give me complete freedom to be wild and outrageous. Is that something you would ever be interested in?

Tessa: You know, I normally just wear normal clothes on stage. I’m not really the “sequined bodysuit, thigh-high boot” type.

Sally: Well, I could come up with something that fits your personality, and since we are both fighters, I think that would be a really good jumping-off point.

Noah: Am I late?

Tessa: I was early.

Sally: I was just telling tessa how amazing she is and trying to convince her that we have a lot of similarities as artists and that we should work together in the future. So thank you very much for showing up and stopping me from embarrassing myself any further.

Tessa: Oh, being fawned over isn’t embarrassing.

Sally: [ Chuckles ]

Noah: Well, sally, we actually have some work to do on her album cover, so if you can excuse us.

Sally: [ Gasps ] A new album? Can I get a sneak peek?

Noah: Not really ready for public consumption.

Sally: Okay, then. Well, I will be going. It was really great to see you both.

Noah: That one’s trouble. Did you hear what she did to summer and kyle?

Tessa: Yes, I know what she did, and so does everyone else in this town. She’s desperate to make friends. I mean, she was trying really hard with me.

Noah: Yeah, she’s probably working some kind of angle. I’m glad you saw through it.

Tessa: I just think she’s lonely. I feel bad for her. I mean, she’s been ostracized by everyone in gc.

Noah: Good. I think it’s what she deserves for what she did to summer. Tess, I know you like to take in strays, but…I think you should stay away from this one.

Tessa: Look, I’m not trying to become her new best friend. I just know what it’s like to be an outsider. I have empathy for her. She spent christmas alone. Isn’t that kind of sad?

Noah: Yeah, it’s sad, but, you know, she brought it on herself.

Tessa: I know. But I was in that spot once, and eventually everyone got to know me and realized what I was about. And now I have a life that i never could have imagined, so all I’m saying is maybe we shouldn’t be so quick to judge.

Sharon: I think that you should think of you house as a respite from everything that’s going on at the hospital, and I realize it’s not realistic to never talk about work when you’re at home, but you could still make an effort. You could have a designated evening where you definitely don’t talk about the hospital.

Elena: Yeah, that’s gonna be tough because we both love practicing medicine. And it’s such a huge part of both of our lives, but you’re right. I think we need to find a specific time where we won’t talk about work.

Sharon: Yeah. And the other thing I recommend is to make your home a place for both of you. You’re moving in to nate’s house, and that can be tricky.

Elena: I hadn’t thought of that.

Sharon: Do you have some things of yours that you want to bring as you combine your lives together? And is he willing to give up some of his stuff to make space for you?

Elena: Yes, we talked about that, and he is actually clearing space as we speak.

Sharon: Good. See, the important thing is that you don’t look at this as you’re moving in to nate’s place. You have to think of it this way — you two are creating a home together. And maybe you can even go out and buy a couple of new things, see if that helps freshen it up.

Elena: Yeah, you know, he has these two purple lamps that i cannot wait to get rid of.

Sharon: Oh, that’s a start.

Elena: [ Chuckles ]

[ Sighs ] Man, I was a little worried about this new adventure, but after talking to you, I feel really excited about this new home nate and I are creating together.

Devon: Well, thank you for coming by.

Nate: Are you sure you don’t want to come by my place, help rearrange some furniture?

Devon: No, I’m all set. Thank you. But I do appreciate the advice you gave me. I value your opinion.

Nate: One last suggestion. I think you should go to abby, explain to her how attached you are to dominic, and that you’d like to play a more active role in his life. I think it’d be good for everyone involved.

Devon: Yeah, no, I mean, i agree with you. And I appreciate hearing your perspective, ’cause I was starting to feel like wanting to see dominic more was selfish of me. But you’ve made me think about things a little differently.

Nate: Think about it this way — abby loves dom with all her heart, right?

Devon: Of course.

Nate: Then she’ll want to do whatever brings more love into his life. And there’s no question you have a lot of love to give. Think on it.

Devon: Thanks, man.

Abby: No, no, no, no. No. It’s new year’s eve. I need the lobsters and the oysters. This is very important, but i can’t do this right now. I’m gonna have to call you back.

Chance: Need some help?

Abby: Well, I need a new seafood supplier. Can you help me with that?

Chance: Uh, no, but I can take him off your hands for a little while. Let me take him home.

Abby: Are you sure?

Chance: Yeah, yeah, I’ll feed him, put him down for a nap, have a little father-son time, right?

Abby: Yeah, but you haven’t —

Chance: I got it, I got it. Alright? You’ve trained me well. It’s time for me to fly solo, right? Isn’t that right? That’s right. You’re smiling now. You kind of want to go, don’t you? Do you struggle with occasional nerve aches

Noah: I’m always impressed at your big, generous heart, even if it is directed towards people who don’t deserve it.

Tessa: Thank you, I think.

Noah: I really hope i captured that quality in your album cover. Here, take a look. I got rid of the image that mariah thought was so offensive.

Tessa: [ Chuckles ] Well, thank you. That will save me some grief at home.

Noah: I think we’re ready to take it to devon.

Tessa: Wow. I mean, I love it, even more than I thought I would. You know why I love this even more? It’s that I will always associate this with mariah.

Noah: Why is that?

Tessa: Because I was thinking of her when you took the shot.

Noah: That explains why you were so content and glowing. I guess love will do that to a person.

Tessa: It really does. Mariah and I are talking about having a baby of our own.

Noah: Wow. That’s, um… that’s great. That’s great. I’m really happy for you guys. If that’s what you both want to do.

Tessa: Yeah, no, it definitely is. I mean, mariah is in a way better place and seems like she could focus on our family, and…and I’m ready.

Noah: It’s a big step.

Tessa: It is. But, you know, our conversations about mariah and our relationship, it really helped, so you deserve some of the credit for helping me get there.

[ Cellphone chimes ] Oh. Oh, that’s her. Well, she’s got a break, so I’m gonna grab some coffee from crimson lights and meet her in the park.

Noah: Sounds fun. Tell her I’m excited to be an uncle.

Tessa: I will. And the cover looks amazing. Send it to devon. Okay? Thank you, noah, for everything.

Chance: You don’t want it? Tell me what to do, dom. How do I feed you? What do I do here?

[ Doorbell rings ] You want the bottle. Come in, it’s open! No bottle. Come on. Get the bottle. Take the bottle. Take it. Hey, man.

Devon: Hey. Is everything alright?

Chance: I can’t get him to take the bottle.

Sharon: Hey, you.

Tessa: Yeah, bye. Hi, how’s it going?

Sharon: Well, my day is just full of opportunities.

Tessa: Ooh, sounds intriguing. Um, thank you for asking me to join you for christmas dinner.

Sharon: Of course. It wouldn’t be the same without you. You’re part of the family.

Tessa: Um, well, I’m actually going to go see mariah, so I’m here to pick up her favorite drink.

Sharon: You two really like the coffee here a lot better than the hotel room service, right?

Tessa: Yeah, absolutely.

Sharon: And, you know, it just really killed me to think of you two waking up on christmas morning in a cold, impersonal hotel room.

Tessa: I mean, I was okay with it. I used to spend the holidays living in cars, so felt like i was living large.

Sharon: In a hotel? I mean, nothing there belongs to you. And then if you were gonna start a family…

Tessa: What are you trying to sell me?

Sharon: What would you think about you and mariah moving in to the apartment upstairs here?

Chelsea: Hey. Good news. Chloe and I worked out the details of my contract. I should officially be on board very soon.

Adam: I’m pleased that you’re joining the team. I’m sure that you will do great things here.

Chelsea: Thank you.

Adam: Um, I’m actually happy that you came by.

[ Sighs ] I know that you have wanted to have a conversation…about where things stand with us, and we haven’t been really able to talk privately because we’ve been with connor.

Chelsea: Mm, don’t forget our awkward three-way date with sally.

Adam: I was thinking about the present you gave me, the painting of the lake house.

Chelsea: What about it?

Adam: Well, there’s some significance to it, which wasn’t lost on me. What were you trying to tell me with that gift?

Chelsea: [ Clears throat ] Only that I miss that time. When we first moved in there. Do you remember what it was like? Before sharon?

Adam: I do.

Chelsea: Do you ever miss it?

[ Knock on door ]

Noah: Hey, there was no one at reception, but I — sorry, is this a — this a bad time?

[Music: “I swear”]

Noah: I’m sorry, I just came by to talk about the job, but i can come by another time or maybe make an appointment.

Chelsea: I didn’t know you were working here. I love that idea. Connor’s gonna be so jealous when he realizes I get to work with you. I really appreciate all the time you spent with him playing hockey on christmas eve.

Noah: No, it was tons of fun. He’s a great, in spite of his old man.

Chelsea: Oh.

Adam: You know, I take abuse like this from noah because i know it’s not as mean-spirited as it would have been a year or two ago.

Noah: Oh, well, that’s because he is not as mean-spirited as he would have been a year or two ago.

Adam: Alright, now you are pushing it, okay?

Chelsea: Well, connor’s gonna be angling for another hockey lesson.

Noah: Oh, any time. I’d love that.

Chelsea: Thank you.

Adam: I’ll have my assistant reach out to set something up so we can talk.

Noah: Got it. Alright, thank you. See you, chelsea.

Chelsea: Bye.

Adam: [ Sighs ] So, about the painting…

Chelsea: Forget the painting, okay? Maybe that was a mistake, giving it to you. I don’t want you reading so much into it, okay? I saw it, I thought of you, i thought about our time on the lake. It was not any kind of intention to put pressure on you.

Adam: I don’t feel any pressure. And, yes, chelsea, I do have fond memories of that time. But like I said before, we can’t get those back. And we just have to accept that what he had is over and we have to move on.

Chelsea: Agreed, but we are moving on as parents, mom and dad, to connor. And spending all this time together the past few days made me realize I made the right choice coming back to genoa city. I mean, connor’s so happy.

Adam: Yeah, he hasn’t been like this in a while.

Chelsea: I’m hoping the three of us can spend as much time together this week while he’s on break.

Tessa: Well, I can’t think of a reason not to move in to the apartment upstairs.

[ Laughs ] Yes, yes, I know you love room service, but we can always just come grab a drink down here. Okay. Yeah, I’ll tell her. We’ll take it!

Sharon: Yay! That makes me so happy. Okay, I promise not to hover, but I am gonna give you special treatment, I mean, as tenants here. I’m gonna make sure that all of your favorites are set out in the morning before mariah goes to work and you go to the studio.

Tessa: Well, I, for one, am looking forward to it. Oh. Just thank you. Thank you so much, sharon. You have done so much for mariah and me, and you’ve been so supportive of our relationship.

Sharon: That’s sweet.

Tessa: I didn’t have anyone in my corner for such a long time, and now I’m a part of this big, beautiful family and we have holiday dinners and you support my music and my dreams. It just — it just means so much to me.

[ Voice breaking ] Everyone should have that.

Sharon: Oh.

Chance: Abby had some things to take care of at society, so i thought I’d bring him home and feed him, but as you can see, I’m having a hard time.

Devon: What have you tried doing?

Chance: Everything, man. I gave him the bottle, the pacifier. I changed his diaper. I even tried to walk him outside. I did the little thing that abby told me. Is he sick? Is this, like, a sick thing? Should I call the doctor?

Devon: No, no, no. I don’t think he’s sick. It’s just — I think he’s tired.

Chance: He isn’t going to sleep.

Devon: Because he’s a baby, you know? He gets fussy and you need to calm him down.

Chance: You got something that’ll make him eat?

Dominic: [ Crying ]

Devon: I don’t have any tricks, but let me try.

Chance: Here you go.

Dominic: [ Crying ]

Chance: It’s okay. Hey, it’s okay, bud.

Devon: Hey, hey, hey.

Dominic: [ Crying ]

Devon: It’s okay. Hey.

Dominic: [ Wailing ]

Devon: Hey, hey.

[ Speaking indistinctly ]

Dominic: [ Wailing ]

Devon: I know you don’t want that. Okay, okay. Let’s get you up. Let’s get you up and let’s just relax. There you go. There you go. It’s okay, buddy.
