Days of Our Lives Update

Steve remains watching George as he leaves home with his suitcases. Johnny asks if Steve is okay to follow him. Steve confirms he is and he’s sure George is heading straight to DiMera to get that laptop. Johnny asks if he’s still good to get in. Steve confirms that he still has the credentials that Johnny gave him, but before he can continue, Steve is then hit from behind with a taser, knocking him out. Johnny frantically begins calling out to Steve to no response. Sarah comes over and asks if everything is alright. Johnny explains that he was talking to Steve, who was staking out George’s house, and he suddenly heard an electric shock sound and then nothing. Johnny worries that something is wrong. Sarah instructs him to call 911 now. Kayla comes by and finds Joy sitting at the hospital, noting that she’s a bit early. Joy says she doesn’t mind waiting. Kayla says she just had a cancellation and can squeeze her in after she takes care of something. Kayla says she’ll call a nurse to get her set up in an exam room which Joy says will be perfect. After Kayla walks away, Joy takes out her bottle of muscle relaxants and takes some of the pills. Johnny informs Sarah that he called 911 to George’s address and prays they can find Steve in time. Sarah imagines George will have to hunker down for the night but Johnny reveals that Steve saw George loading luggage in to his car. Sarah worries that George is going to leave town. Johnny guesses George is heading to DiMera for his laptop. Sarah says that somebody has to get over there before he does, because if he leaves town with the laptop then any evidence that could exonerate her just goes with him. Johnny decides he’ll go and hopes he can beat him there. Sarah stops him and reminds him that he has to be there when Chanel wakes up, so she will go. Johnny asks if she’s sure. Sarah calls it her problem, so she’ll find someone to cover for her and asks how much time she has. Johnny says it should take George about 40 minutes to get to DiMera from his house but warns that it’s not safe so she can’t go alone. Sarah agrees and makes a call, saying she needs their help.
Stephanie joins Alex on the couch in their living room and kiss as they talk about watching a TV show together. Alex mentions they have a lot to catch up and not just streaming. They say they’ve missed each other as they continue kissing.
Kayla checks on Joy in the exam room and asks how things are since being discharged. Joy says she’s been managing and admits her home health aid has been a Godsend and was able to bring her in early. Joy mentions that Alex offered to take her, but she’s sure he and Stephanie wanted to catch up and she didn’t want to intrude on their happy reunion. Kayla thinks back to Stephanie asking her to test Joy’s reflexes when she isn’t looking. Kayla then informs Joy that she’s just going to do a quick blind test of her reflexes because sometimes things are missed and a blind test can rule out any external influences to make sure her mind is not masking any recovery she’s having. Kayla asks if Joy doesn’t have a problem with that. Kayla tells Joy to try to relax but Johnny interrupts, saying it’s urgent. Johnny informs Kayla that he thinks Steve has been hurt on the stakeout and it sounded like he’d been assaulted, so he called 911 to George’s house. Kayla says she has to go, so Joy says not to worry about her as Kayla rushes out with Johnny.
Alex and Stephanie continue kissing until they are interrupted by Stephanie getting a call from Kayla, who informs her that Steve was injured on a stakeout. Kayla says she doesn’t know the details but they’ve confirmed that Steve is being transported to the hospital. Stephanie says she’ll be right there. Stephanie hangs up and informs Alex that something happened to Steve and he’s being brought in to the hospital, so they rush out together.
Xander joins Sarah at DiMera Enterprises. Xander asks if Brady is meeting them there. Sarah says no as he’s with Rachel. Xander notes that Johnny turned off the security. Sarah says the laptop has to be there. Xander says otherwise, they will wait for George and convince him that turning it over is in his best interest. Xander states that he can be quite persuasive as he reveals he is carrying his gun with him.
Steve is brought in to the hospital in a wheelchair, insisting to Kayla that he’s fine but Kayla tells him not to try to get up. Kayla asks the EMT what happened. She explains that Steve was tased and had a slight hematoma at the base of his skull. She adds that he was unconscious upon arrival but came to en route to the hospital, noting that he is stable. Stephanie and Alex arrive. Steve assures that he’s fine while Kayla says he’s going to get checked out. Stephanie says she’ll be there waiting for him. Steve tells Stephanie that it’s very important that he talks to Johnny but Kayla says he’s not talking to anybody until after he’s checked out. Steve instructs Stephanie to find Johnny as he’s wheeled away with Kayla. Stephanie hugs Alex, telling him that she was so scared while Alex encourages that it’s going to be okay, calling Steve the toughest guy he knows.
Sarah questions Xander bringing a gun. Xander knows how she feels about guns and violence, but assures he has no plans to use it and just wasn’t taking any chances when it comes to her safety because she is important to him. Sarah responds that he’s important to her too as the father of her child, so they will be in each others’ lives forever. They agree they wouldn’t have it either other way because Victoria needs them both. Sarah understands his gun is about keeping them safe and she’s grateful he’s willing to do whatever it takes.
Joy starts to fall asleep in her hospital chair.
Kayla checks on Steve, who says his head pain is better now and insists he’s okay. Kayla tells him that he better be because he is everything to her. Steve swears that he will always do everything in his power to come home to her. Johnny comes in to check on Steve, who says he’s hanging in. Kayla asks about Chanel. Johnny confirms she’s in recovery sleeping and that Paulina, Abe, and Theo are with her now. Kayla decides to give them a minute while she goes to tell Alex and Stephanie that Steve is okay. Steve thanks Johnny for calling in the cavalry and says he owes him one. Johnny says Steve wouldn’t be on the stakeout if not for him, so he feels guilty that he’s in the hospital. Steve reminds Johnny that he volunteered for that job and says what sucks is that George is probably halfway out of town with the laptop. Johnny says hopefully not.
Xander and Sarah sneak in to the lab in hopes that they can find the laptop before George returns.
Johnny informs Steve that Sarah and Xander are at DiMera Enterprises now because they realized George won’t leave town without the laptop, so Sarah called Xander and they headed there. Johnny hopes they can beat George to it. Steve says the last thing he remembers was George packing up his car but since he was knocked out, he doesn’t know what time he took off. Steve is pissed off that someone got the jump on him and declares that Sarah and Xander are their last chance of getting that laptop. Jada comes in to check on Steve, who says he’s okay. Jada asks if Steve feels up to answering questions about his ordeal. Steve agrees to give her all the answers she needs, but first says she needs to get police officers over to DiMera right now.
Sarah and Xander come up emptyhanded in searching the lab. Sarah wonders if it’s wrong about it being there but Xander then notices a thick picture frame on the wall.
Kayla goes over to Stephanie and Alex to tell them that Steve had a minor head injury, but no concussion. Stephanie asks if Steve was working and how Kayla knew about it. Kayla responds that she was with a patient when Johnny came in to tell her. Kayla then remembers that she left Joy in the exam room when she ran out. Alex offers to go tell her so Kayla can stay with Stephanie which Kayla says she would appreciate.
Joy has a nightmare about Alex catching her getting out of her wheelchair.
Steve explains to Jada that he was tailing George all night because he believed he would lead him to the laptop to clear Sarah and he was watching George pack up his car, so he called Johnny to fill him in but he broke the first rule of stakeouts by letting himself get distracted and someone got the jump on him. Steve says next thing he knew, he was waking up in the ambulance with a headache. Steve says he didn’t get his eyes on the assailant but he knows there were only two people in the area, George and EJ, and he had eyes on George.
Kayla tells Stephanie how she was about to examine Joy when all this happened and Johnny came in before they could even begin. Stephanie asks to make sure she is going to do the test to make sure the paralysis isn’t some kind of ruse. Kayla responds that whatever she decides to do is going to have to wait until Joy’s next exam and that’s all she’s going to say about it right now.
Joy’s nightmare has Alex going off on her for lying and threatening to take Kelsey from her. Joy then wakes up in her hospital chair with Alex at her side. Alex asks if she’s okay as she was crying in her sleep and asks what she was dreaming about. Joy claims she couldn’t tell him.
Jada appreciates the information from Steve but asks why he didn’t loop her in on the stakeout when they are on the same team. Steve says nothing would inspire a judge to grant a warrant while he had less limits as a private investigator. Jada says she gets it but it was too dangerous for him to run that solo. Steve says he understands but they were under the gun time wise and he couldn’t let George get away with the laptop, but he blew it. Steve hopes Sarah and Xander have better luck.
Xander slides the picture on the wall to reveal a panel in the wall that holds George’s laptop. Xander takes the laptop and hands it to Sarah. Xander says they should get out of there right as George then enters the lab.
Jada goes to Johnny at the hospital and tells him that Steve told her he was on the phone with him when he was attacked. Johnny confirms that Steve called to tell him that George was loading suitcases into a car, thinking he was about to leave town. Jada asks what happened. Johnny says he heard what he could only assume was a taser and then nothing. Jada asks if he’s spoken to his father yet. Johnny says he hasn’t spoken to him since before he came to her with the whole Coriseal mess. Johnny asks if she thinks EJ did this. Jada says at this point, they have no evidence but Steve seems pretty certain that EJ was behind it.
Joy asks Alex if he came with Stephanie to check on Steve and asks how he’s doing. Alex responds that Kayla said he’s doing okay and that she’s still in with him, which is why he came by to let her know that Kayla said they’ll have to reschedule her exam. Joy wishes she could’ve let her know sooner since her home health aid dropped her off, but she’s off now. Joy asks Alex to get her purse so she can book a wheelchair accessible rideshare. Alex starts to just get her phone but Joy yells for him not to go in to her purse and jokes about never looking through a woman’s purse. Alex tells Joy that he can give her a ride back to the mansion so she doesn’t have to sit and wait for a rideshare.
Stephanie checks on Steve and says he gave them quite the scare. Steve assures that other than a headache, he’s his old self again. Stephanie says they are grateful he’s okay as being tased is one thing but it could’ve been so much worse. Steve is sure they were just trying to get him out of commission temporarily because they knew he was watching George. Kayla tells him no more stakeouts for awhile. Steve admits he prefers sleeping in his own bed next to Kayla and apologizes for scaring them both, but says it wasn’t supposed to go down like this.
George demands his laptop. Xander says no chance with proof that he setup Sarah. George claims to have no idea what he’s talking about. Sarah bets the laptop will show them. George argues that they have no right to be in the lab while Sarah says it’s him that has no right since she heard he was fired and his keycard is obviously stolen. George says just like his laptop and warns that they hand it over or he will call the police. Sarah tells him that she’s sure they would love to talk to hmi and see whatever is on the computer.
Steve doesn’t like that they haven’t heard from Sarah or Xander yet. Kayla tells him that Jada has the police on their way. Steve complains that he can’t do anything from the hospital and needs to get to DiMera. Kayla stops him and says he’s not going anywhere tonight but home. Steve guesses he’s in no position to argue. Kayla tells him there’s nothing she’d like more tonight than to play nurse for him as they embrace.
Stephanie goes over to Jada and Johnny, commenting on what a day it’s been. Jada says she’s glad Steve is okay. Johnny tells Stephanie that he’s really sorry as her dad seems pretty sure that his dad is the one who attacked him. Johnny thought going to the police meant stopping more people from getting hurt but here they are in this mess. Stephanie insists that he’s not to blame for any of this. Johnny isn’t sure about that and asks what kind of idiot he was to think going to the police would stop EJ when it never has in the past. Jada tells Johnny that him coming forward to the police was a great thing whether or not EJ was behind tasing Steve. Jada assures that what he did will help bring answers to a lot of hurting families. Stephanie says that includes his family and asks how Chanel is doing after surgery. Johnny says she’s relieved to have it behind her and the doctors said it went really well. Stephanie asks why he’s not with her. Johnny says she’s resting now and that Abe, Paulina, and Theo are with her. Stephanie tells him that he should be too, so she tells him to go be with his wife while the rest of this stuff will work itself out. Johnny hopes they are right and heads back to Chanel’s room. Jada then asks Stephanie where her spouse is. Stephanie tells her to take a guess.
Alex picks Joy up and puts her back in her wheelchair. Joy then exclaims that she can feel Alex touching her legs and she can feel her legs.
George tells Sarah and Xander that he cannot let them leave with that computer while Xander tells him that he doesn’t have a choice. Xander instructs Sarah to get out while he’s got this. George then pulls out his gun and shoots Xander. Xander pulls his gun out and fires back, shooting George before collapsing onto a table.
