Abe and Theo sit together at the Brady Pub, talking about Lexie’s memorial service coming up in early November. They agree about doing it on her birthday. Theo looks over the guest list and jokes about being unable to read Abe’s handwriting. Abe claims he just couldn’t find his glasses and suggests Theo could help him print a new one today. Theo agrees to do so as they talk about the celebration being what Lexie wanted. Theo adds that he just hopes it’s a drama free service with the DiMeras. Abe assures that it will be okay but notes that he’s counting on Theo to keep the peace.

Julie is at home on the phone with Foster, telling him that they will have to cancel their date yet again because she promised Maggie that she would help her move back in to her house. They agree to a rain check and she thanks him for understanding. Julie says she’ll see him at work and hangs up. Maggie then comes in and questions her using her as an excuse to cancel her date with Foster.

Tate joins Holly in the town square and says Rachel has no changes since last night but her spirits seem better. Tate tells Holly that he knows they were going to see a movie but he has to cancel because he has a session scheduled with Joy Wesley. Holly didn’t know he was working with Joy. Tate responds that Joy’s been having a really hard time.

Joy gets up from her wheelchair in her room and retrieves her bottle of muscle relaxers. Joy says to Kelsey that she’s not being a good role model but that Tate’s coming over to train her soon and he can’t find out. Joy then worries about being almost out of the pills.

Alex finishes a call with Justin as Stephanie shows up at the door. Alex tells her that Joy is in the guest room with Kelsey as her home health aid just left and she has training with Tate soon, but she should be safe for now. Alex tells Stephanie that he’s sorry about how Joy treated her as that was not okay, but says they won’t have to worry about that anymore because he found a solution. Alex reveals that he found a place for Joy to stay and she can move in today. Stephanie questions Joy moving out and where she’s going. Alex says it was Justin’s idea that there would be plenty of room at the Kiriakis Mansion where she would have an elevator, a gym, a pool for physical therapy and a lot of the staff. Alex calls it a perfect setup as Joy will be living in the lap of luxury and when Kelsey’s with her, they can have their apartment back. Stephanie questions if Joy is on board with this and then realizes that he hasn’t told her yet. Alex says he literally just got off the phone with Justin when she arrived, but insists that Joy will be psyched and asks why she wouldn’t be. Alex asks if there’s something she’s not telling him.

Joy calls her dad and claims that she accidentally dropped her muscle relaxers down the sink, so that he agrees to send her more. Joy thanks him and hangs up.

Tate tells Holly that Sarah asked him to set up some personal training services with Joy, hoping to help build her upper strength with her wheelchair. Holly says she’s glad he got a new client. Tate says he’s sorry about the movies. Holly tells him not to worry and that it works out better this way as she reveals that she has her first one on one session with the mental health hotline today which surprises Tate. Holly says she meant to tell him about it yesterday but there was so much going on. Holly explains that she ran in to Mason, who apologized for how hard he had been on her about Sophia. Tate says he’s glad he did that. Holly adds that she told Mason how bad she felt about how things ended with her and how she wishes she could do something, so he suggested she work the mental health hotline as he thinks it might be really healing for her to give back since she obviously couldn’t save Sophia, but maybe she can make a difference for other people. Tate says that makes sense and thinks it’s a great idea. Holly hopes it will ease her guilt a little and maybe offer her closure. Tate says he’s really proud of her.

Julie tells Maggie that she wasn’t lying Foster, she just assumed that Maggie would need her help moving back in to the mansion. Maggie responds that she has movers for that and most of her stuff is in storage. Maggie tells Julie that she knows her very well and that this is not about the move. Maggie guesses she wanted to cancel her date with Foster, which Julie then admits. Maggie points out that this is not the first time that she’s used her as an excuse to cancel her date with Foster. Maggie asks what’s going on and if she doesn’t want to see him anymore. Julie insists that she enjoys his company and that he’s smart and charming. Julie then says he’s ideal as a friend, but she doesn’t know about anything else.

Holly goes to the Brady Pub and greets Abe and Theo. Holly mentions to Abe that Nicole said to send her love. Holly adds that she’s thinking about going to see Nicole and Eric over the holidays. Theo encourages her to take any time she can to spend with her mom, because you never know how much you have left. Holly says she’s sure this won’t be an easy one for him and his family. Theo tells her about how Lexie did Christmas in July because she knew she wouldn’t be there in December. Abe invites Holly to join them for lunch. Holly says she wishes she could, but she’s actually meeting someone there. Mason then arrives to meet her.

Stephanie tells Alex that what she’s about to tell him might be hard to hear, but he needs to know and he cannot say a word to Joy. Alex asks her to just tell him. Stephanie reveals that the other day when she came in after hearing Kelsey crying, she saw Joy’s legs move. Joy hears their voices from her room and gets up. Alex questions if Stephanie is really accusing Joy of faking her paralysis. Stephanie confirms that she is. Alex asks why Joy would do that. Joy then opens her door slightly to listen in as Stephanie tells Alex that everything Joy does is because she wants him. Alex tells Stephanie that Joy has made it very clear to him that she doesn’t have feelings, that she knows he’s married, and that he’s committed to her. Stephanie argues that Alex may not see it, but she does and that Joy wants him all to herself. Alex argues that Joy left town while pregnant so he and Stephanie could be together. Stephanie says that was a long time ago and now things are different because they have a child together. Alex says that’s the bond and nothing more. Stephanie questions how Alex could be so clueless and asks if he doesn’t see how territorial Joy is, how she plays off his guilt and uses Kelsey to keep them apart. Joy finishes listening in and shuts her door, leaving her empty pill bottle on the floor of her room. Tate then arrives and greets Alex and Stephanie. Stephanie says she has to get to a meeting with Paulina and tells Alex they will finish their conversation later, so she exits. Alex thanks Tate for coming and says he will let Joy know that he’s there. Joy gets back in her wheelchair as Alex knocks on the door and tells her that Tate is there. Joy says she’s ready, but then sees her pill bottle on the floor.

Mason coaches Holly ahead of her work on the mental health hotline and says he’s impressed by how much Holly had memorized.

Joy tells Alex to let Tate know she’ll be right out. Alex asks if everything is alright. Joy says she just wants to freshen up. Alex asks if he can help her with anything. Joy assures that she’s got this, so Alex exits the room.

Maggie asks Julie if Foster wants more than friendship, but she doesn’t. Julie responds that she doesn’t know what Foster wants and doesn’t really know what she wants. Julie admits that she still feels married to Doug. Maggie says she understands. Julie cries that she’s not ready for the idea of starting a relationship with anybody else and declares she may never be ready again. Maggie says she knows what she’s feeling and that she shouldn’t push herself in to any kind of relationship out of guilt or obligation. Julie admits she hasn’t been honest with Foster as he’s such a nice guy and she doesn’t want to hurt his feelings. Maggie says that’s because she has such a soft heart, but she has to tell him how she feels as it will be much better for both of them. Julie agrees that she has to tell him the truth.

Joy asks Tate if there’s even enough room to work out. Tate admits he thought they would have more floor space but they can make it work. Alex comes over and says that won’t be an issue because Joy’s next session won’t be there which confuses Joy. Alex says he was going to wait to tell her later but since they are talking about space, she will have it. Joy says she doesn’t follow. Alex then reveals that he’s arranged for Joy and Kelsey to move in to the Kiriakis Mansion, shocking her.

Stephanie meets Paulina in the town square and asks about the exciting news she wanted to share. Paulina announces that the Governor has agreed to pardon Lani. Stephanie calls that amazing and thought he denied the request. Paulina explains that she sent him Leo’s podcast and he saw everyone’s comments supporting Lani. Paulina adds that it wouldn’t have happened without Stephanie as she prepared her for every scenario and told her to talk to Lani about it first. Stephanie says she’s so happy for her and Lani. Paulina declares that Lani is returning to the force, so they will have another highly competent officer to keep the city safe.

Mason coaches Holly some more about the mental health hotline. Holly has an alarm on her phone reminding her to buy tickets to the David Hockney pop up at the art gallery. Holly starts to tell him about the art but Mason reveals that he knows who Hockney is, surprising Holly. They agree that they both misjudged each other. Holly and Mason share what they like about Hockney paintings. Holly admits it really surprised her that he’s a marine who works at a mental health hotline and appreciates art. Mason responds that he’s full of surprises.

Joy questions when this move is happening. Alex says he was thinking today, insisting they will absolutely love it there with plenty of space, maids, a personal chef, and an elevator. Alex adds that he’ll always be able to stop by and help. Tate mentions that they do have a killer gym there with top of the line equipment. Joy decides that sounds perfect and calls it a wonderful solution. Joy claims she couldn’t be happier. Alex thanks her for being so cool about it. Joy says they should get back to their training session, so Alex goes to check on Kelsey. Tate starts training Joy, who says she’s just feeling a little weak and ends up dropping one of the small weights, so Tate asks if she’s okay.

Alex checks on Kelsey and says he’s loved every minute having her there and he will miss her. Alex says she’ll still be there, just half the time instead of all the time. Alex hopes next year at this time, Stephanie can be there with them too.

Stephanie tells Paulina that she doesn’t want to be a buzzkill after her great news. Paulina asks what she’s worried about. Stephanie states that most of the comments are very positive about Lani returning to the force and it was enough to sway the Governor, but backlash is a real thing as there will be those who won’t be happy and sometimes, those voices are the loudest. Paulina says she’s dealt with plenty of that but assures no voice is louder than her voice.

Lani calls Abe with the news that she’s returning to the force. Abe calls it the best news he’s heard in a long time and thanks her for letting him know. Abe says they will have to celebrate soon as they hang up. Theo asks what’s going on. Abe informs him that the Governor has granted Lani a full pardon. Theo questions if it was because of Paulina. Abe says he’s sure she had something to do with that. Theo worries that she could get in trouble for asking for personal favors. Abe says it’s not illegal to ask and the Governor didn’t have to say yes, but he’s sure Paulina feels it was worth it. Theo argues that it’s not really fair though because not everyone can just call up the Governor and ask him to help their daughter. Abe acknowledges that’s true, but he would do the same thing for Theo. Mason tells Holly that she can take hotline calls from home as long as it’s in private, so no dorm rooms. Mason adds they will also need somewhere more private when they get to her more practical training sessions. Holly asks if they can use where he takes his calls, but Mason informs her that his lease is almost up and he’s getting ready to move. Mason adds that he was thinking about asking about the room for rent above the Pub. Holly says she knows the owners and offers to put in a good word for him which he says would be great. Holly adds that in the meantime, her Grandma’s place has some quiet space so they agree to do it there. Mason tells her that he really appreciates the help. Holly jokes that she used what he taught her to do on the mental health hotline while Mason jokes that now she’s just showing off.

Julie tells Maggie that she’s thrilled that she’s moving back in to the mansion. Maggie admits she feels a little guilty about how they went about it. Julie says desperate times call for desperate measures and she’s just sorry she wasn’t in on the fun. Maggie admits it was fun and she’s just glad it worked. Julie hopes it deters Dominic Marino from coming to Salem at all. Maggie doesn’t know why she cares and asks what she knows about him. Julie explains that last time she talked to Marlena, his name came up and she started to tell her something but she stopped and the conversation just ended abruptly as if the mention of Dominic’s name was upsetting to her. Julie says she doesn’t have a clue why, but Marlena doesn’t need anything else to worry about as she has so much sadness in her life right now.

Joy tells Tate that she will try again as Tate works with her. Tate asks if Joy lost a lot of strength after her accident. Joy sees Alex come back in the room, so Joy asks Tate to spot her. Joy compliments Tate’s muscles and asks how much he lifts as Alex watches on. Joy asks about Tate’s abs, but Tate backs away and acknowledges Alex. Tate tells Joy that they can work on her core next time and encourages her to keep working on what they worked on. Joy says whatever he says. Tate tells Joy that he’ll see her at their next session and hurries out. Joy claims that she didn’t know Alex was back there. Alex asks how her session went. Joy responds that it was great and that she doesn’t remember Tate being so hot. Joy asks what Tate’s relationship status is.

Paulina enters the Brady Pub and greets Abe and Theo. Abe informs Paulina that Lani just told him about the pardon. Theo asks if Paulina is on the list for Lexie’s memorial service. Abe tells Paulina that she’s more than welcome to come, but he’d understand if she’d rather not. Paulina says she’d be honored to be there. Tate arrives and greets Mason and Holly. Mason goes to look in to the room for rent. Tate asks Holly how her coaching went. Holly says it was great and that Mason’s actually a really cool guy. She asks how his session with Joy went. Tate calls it interesting, so Holly asks what that means. Tate says things are just really complicated there with the living situation with Alex and the baby plus Joy’s condition. Holly says she feels really bad for Joy. Tate says if Holly is done here, they can catch another showing of the movie they planned on. Holly agrees as they kiss and then exit the Pub together while Mason looks on from the bar.

Alex and Stephanie walk through the town square. Alex tells Stephanie that Joy didn’t put up a fight when he told her about moving in to the mansion and seemed cool with it. Alex adds that Stephanie will be happy to know that Joy was hardcore flirting with Tate. Alex declares that’s enough talking about Joy when they should be celebrating because Joy moving out means he finally gets Stephanie back in their bed tonight as they embrace.

Joy gets up in her room and complains to Kelsey that she cannot believe Stephanie pressured Alex in to kicking them out and admits she didn’t see that coming. Joy says it’s going to be okay as they have to come up with a plan B, but first she has to make it seem like everything Stephanie said about her is wrong and that she doesn’t want Alex. Joy points out that on the bright side, Alex is sending them to his family mansion which means they are apart of the family. Joy states that what might be even better than them staying here with Alex would be getting Alex to move in to the mansion with them someday. Joy declares that would be perfect.
