Hayley thought Bill was over the fake ultrasound, but he still wanted to talk about it. She lied to him about the miscarriage and why she trusted a stranger to help her. Bill felt like she knew Randy before that night. As Hayley kept talking, Bill felt like she was having an emotional affair with Randy. Hayley told him that Randy was involved with Mona. She hoped that telling him that would ease Bill’s mind. They decided not to let anything come between them. Anita was worried about not getting her voice back. She wasn’t sure how her voice would impact how Barbara’s vocals were included in their songs. Nicole knew that the re-recordings were making her emotional. Anita became frustrated when Nicole started analyzing her. Nicole felt like her body was keeping her from an uncomfortable situation. Anita talked about listening to the tape of Barbara singing to her. She could barely talk without choking. As Anita continued to practice singing, she began to sound the way she used to before. She seemed ready to get back to the studio.
Martin met with Vernon and talked to him about Smitty working on the Impaler investigation. He thought Smitty’s involvement could ruin his campaign. Vernon didn’t think it would be terrible if he lost the campaign. His response surprised Martin. Vernon told him that he would still have his family. Martin eventually saw his point. Jacob wanted his mother to check 9-1-1 call logs. She said there weren’t any calls from the prison to the hotline the morning Lia died.
