Daytime Soap Opera Short Recaps

Most of the people showed up for the opening of the free clinic. Vanessa was happy that her children showed up for the opening. Her happiness was short-lived because Deanna picked up on the energy her mother had with Joey. Deanna became very chilly with Vanessa. Vanessa had kissed Joey in public and got caught. Deanna shocked Vanessa when she asked her how long she had been sleeping with Joey. Everyone watched Deanna yell at her mother. Donnell tried his best to calm his sister down, but Deanna wouldn’t back down. She stormed off and left Vanessa in tears. Nicole tried to make Vanessa feel better about what happened. Kial talked about what he went through with his children after his wife died. Donnell met Deanna at Orphey Gene’s. He tried to get Deanna to see things from their mother’s point-of-view. Donnell reminded her that she wasn’t the only one who was hurting. He informed her that he tried to understand what was going on with Vanessa and Joey. Deanna wasn’t convinced because she didn’t feel differently. She wanted to honor their father instead of pretending that he didn’t exist. Donnell wouldn’t have chosen Joey for their mother, but he made their mother happy.
Vanessa went to see Joey. She expected him to rub it in that he was right about her children not meeting him. Vanessa told him that Deanna was outraged by them being together. While she opened up to him, she realized that shes didn’t know him. She wanted him to open up to her. If they had a chance to be happy, he had to let her know the real him. Kat gathered Chelsea and Tomas together to share her big news. She told them that she was staying with their grandparents. Tomas didn’t think they would let him sleep over. Kat assured him that nothing would change between them. Things didn’t go well when Kat thought he was just concerned about her moving impacting him. Tomas thought she was acting without thinking again. He got upset that she didn’t talk to him before she made her decision. Kat realized that he was right and apologized to him.
