Smitty tried to talk to Martin about the conversation they had before but Martin pretended to have a call to get out of it. When Samantha was on her way out, Martin stopped her. He wanted to know where she was going. Samantha said she wasn’t going to be friends with a chess-playing stranger like Tyrell. Martin didn’t find her joke funny. Samantha told him to go easy on Tyrell. She said she understood that he wanted to protect his children, but he couldn’t hold them prisoner until they were 30. After Samantha left, Malone showed up and said he knew about Kenneth playing chess with his son. He told Martin it wouldn’t happen again. Martin told him he would pay for police protection as long as his family didn’t find out the truth. Jacob waited for Smitty to meet him at Orphey Gene’s, but Kat was the one who showed up. She wanted to know how long it was going to take to put Leslie in prison. Jacob said he didn’t like her acting like an unofficial police officer. He told her what was going on with the case. Jacob said they confirmed that Leslie was the owner of the helmet worn by the person who ran Laura off the road, but they had to prove Leslie was wearing the helmet at the time. Kat ended up leaving. Smitty showed up to meet Jacob.

Smitty told Jacob that he thought Martin was a victim but questioned if he was wrong. Jacob said Martin should consider getting a lawyer. He told Smitty that as a man of the law, he would have to pursue Martin if he was guilty. Smitty wondered if the same thing applied to his father. Jacob said his father wasn’t exempt either. While they were talking, Jacob got a call about Marcel providing protection for Martin which upset Smitty. He told Jacob that Martin was working with Malone and was lying in his face. Jacob told him to make Martin come clean. Martin went to the park and saw Samantha with Kenneth. In Chicago, the Articulettes were getting along until Anita wanted to spice up their choreography. Sharon thought Anita was trying to change things the way she did before. Anita said she wasn’t getting rid of the past. She said bringing something new to their routine would make the moves classic. Sharon shot down Anita’s ideas. She let Anita know that the three of them were equals and that Anita didn’t call the shots. Sharon said they could do the reunion without her. Anita wanted Tracey to convince Sharon to do the moves, but Tracey said she couldn’t do it. She told Tracey that she always has to agree with Sharon and that she was always the villain. Tracey said things didn’t change because she always thought she was the only smart and talented one in the group. When Sharon came back, she told Anita that she always thought she knew best because she had money. Anita said she could get her checkbook and agree to everything so she could go home. She told them to do the concert without her. While they were talking, Anita blamed herself for what happened between them. She said if she didn’t follow Dante or go solo they could all be EGOTs. Anita said they would never know since they couldn’t turn back time. She said she hoped they could make up for lost time, but they couldn’t. Anita said they could do the show without her. She said she was heartbroken that they couldn’t do this for Barbara and kicked them out of her hotel.

At Orphey Gene’s, Leslie told Hayley that they had something in common. Hayley wondered what they had in common. Leslie said no one wanted to talk to her either. Hayley wasn’t interested in what Leslie had to say until she mentioned the Dupree sisters have done a number on them. Leslie asked how they were going to help each other. Hayley said she didn’t intend to hurt anyone the way Leslie did. She said she loved the Duprees like they were her own family and didn’t intend to fall in love with Bill. Leslie said she didn’t have to buy a home in Fairmont Crest or get married at the country club. She told Hayley that she was a wrecking ball. Hayley left to go to a doctor’s appointment. Nicole showed up and sat with Leslie. She told Leslie that they had a lot of catch up on. Nicole let her know that Laura was back at work. She asked if Leslie was willing to admit to what she did to Laura. Leslie said she didn’t understand her obsession about it. She asked if Nicole really believed she attacked Laura even though the evidence was circumstantial. While they were talking, Leslie told Nicole that she had a dress with Ted’s memories. She told Nicole that while she was injecting herself with hormones and dealing with miscarriages, she and Ted were having sex. Nicole said she trapped Ted so she could keep him. Leslie said she wasn’t trying to get pregnant on purpose.

Ted wanted Kat in his office to find out what happened with the accreditation renewal. Kat blamed Eva for the mistake. She told him she was clear with Eva about the importance of the accreditation renewal, but Eva didn’t understand the importance of the job. Kat said she would stick around until Eva did her job right. Ted asked if she deliberately sabotaged Eva so she could mess up. Kat said she wouldn’t do anything to hurt the clinic. Ted told Kat not to be hard on Eva. He said he was going to meet Nicole. When Ted left, Eva went to his office to call Kat out. She told Kat that she knew what she did. Kat acted as if she didn’t know what she was talking about. Eva accused Kat of being jealous of her relationship with Ted. Kat denied being jealous and called her trash like her mother. Eva said Kat only cared about herself. She told Kat that she was glad this happened because she knew where they stood. Eva said she could take a page out of her mother’s book and pay her back. Leslie insulted Kat to Nicole. When Nicole kept her cool, Leslie mentioned that Ted was free of someone to stupid to realize that he was lying to her. Nicole grabbed Leslie by the throat and choked her. Ted showed up and broke them up. Nicole said they had nothing to say to each other and walked out. Leslie asked Ted to take her home. Andre went to see Dani to talk about what happened to Orphey Gene’s. They ended up fighting. Dani asked if he wanted to waste time with girls while he could have a woman. They ended up making love.

Jacob let Smitty know that Malone was getting nervous that they were getting close to finding out what happened two years ago. He didn’t like how Malone is trying to turn his father against Smitty. Jacob thought he was trying to make it seem like he was turning against their brotherhood. Smitty told him that corrupt cops always underestimate journalists. He felt like corrupt cops’ masks slip when they think their secrets are coming out. Jacob and Smitty recapped what they knew so far. They knew that Malone had $500,000 the same night Martin came home acting strange. Vernon offered to testify at Malone’s trial. They realized they were getting closer to the truth. Jacob was confused because he remembered running into his father after he passed his detective exam that night. He realized that his father was too busy to congratulate him. After Jacob and Smitty finished talking, he approached Elon. Jacob reminded his father about the oath they took to uphold the law. He asked him one more time what happened that night. Elon told him that things don’t add up. He tried to gaslight Jacob. Jacob felt that his father didn’t want him to chase a crime that didn’t exist. He made it seem like he was done investigating it. Martin was at the house and held a baseball bat. He wanted to be prepared for Kenneth to walk in the door. He fell asleep and had nightmares until Smitty woke him up. Smitty assured him that he would be okay. Martin begged him to drop the story, but he refused to do it. Smitty begged Martin to tell him what happened that night. He told Martin that he needed to tell him if he did something. Martin couldn’t do it because he needed to protect his family.

Malone handed Randy over to Joey. He read Randy the riot act for stealing from him. Malone was more suspicious of Randy since he saw him with a ticket to Bali. Joey thought Randy was dressed for warm weather, but it would be cold where he was going. Randy told Joey that his gun jammed when he tried to kill Kenneth. He thought he killed him. Joey wanted Randy to admit that he was useless. He asked Malone what he should do with people who are no longer useful. Doug and Vanessa arrived at the casino, and Randy told them to get out of there. Vanessa refused to listen to Randy. She wanted to know what the police department would think of Malone moonlighting with Joey. Vanessa pushed her luck with Joey by telling him that she and Doug were going to take Randy with them. Joey warned her to stop pushing her luck with him. He told her to go where she belonged. She didn’t back down to him. Vanessa threatened to blow up their arrangement. Joey would lose a lot if he hurt Randy. She was willing to keep working with Joey, but Randy had to be set free. Joey let Randy go free to thank him for exposing his wife’s affair years ago. He wanted Vanessa to stay because he wanted to reprimand her. Things took a different turn when they flirted with each other. Ashley noticed Dani was staring at her and Andre all night. Dani approached their table. She apologized for interrupting their wholesome night. Ashley let her know that she and Andre were in the middle of something. Dani wondered if they were a new pair. Andre and Ashley gave her different answers. Dani mentioned how Andre was a ladykiller. She wondered if Ashley was another notch on Andre’s bedpost. Andre told Dani that there was someone, but she couldn’t move on from her past. He told her that the woman was a lot like her and that she acts like she’s the only one who matters. Ashley felt like any woman who had a shot with Andre and blew it must be crazy. Dani agreed that the woman needed her head examined. Andre defended the woman and said she was stuck in the past. He said that the woman denied having feelings for her ex even though everyone told her to move on. Dani thought he couldn’t please the woman. Ashley went to the bathroom leaving Andre and Dani alone. Dani assured Andre that she wasn’t jealous of Ashley. She was embarrassed about the way Andre described their relationship. She thought he couldn’t handle life when it was complicated and that’s why he went after someone bland like Ashley. Ashley came back to the table as Dani was putting him down. Ashley wanted to end the night with Andre.

At the police station, Jacob asked Smitty to leave his father alone. Jacob said it didn’t concern his father or Martin. Smitty said Vernon was one of Malone’s character witnesses at his internal affairs investigation and Elon confirmed it. Jacob said his father asked him not to talk to him about Malone. Malone showed up and asked what they were trying to find out. Jacob and Smitty came up with a lie. Smitty told Malone that he interviewed Elon about him. He asked Malone if there was any dirt on him. Malone wanted to talk to Jacob about what happened. He said someone was looking through his finances, but he was able to explain them. Malone said he got his money from an inheritance. He let Jacob know that he understood that he wanted to stand by Smitty’s side but reporters couldn’t be trusted. At Martin and Smitty’s house, Tyrell was playing chess with Kenneth. Martin threw Kenneth out of the house. He told Tyrell not to talk to Kenneth. Tyrell said he was playing with Kenneth online for weeks. Martin followed Kenneth to Orphey Gene’s and warned him to stay away from his family. Kenneth accused Martin of orchestrating his attack. He warned Martin that he would do worse to his family if he didn’t pay more money.

Dani showed up at Bill and Hayley’s house. She said she was there to make sure Hayley and the baby were okay. Hayley said Dani should be apologizing for sending her to the hospital in the first place. Dani thought it was funny that Hayley blamed her for cramping. Bill said things between him and Dani have improved and he appreciated her showing up for him at the hospital. He told her he was building a future with Hayley. Bill said despite what was going on in Dani’s head, his situation with Hayley was a temporary thing that was going to end. He ordered Dani to apologize to Hayley or get out of his house. Dani refused to apologize to Hayley. After Dani left, Martin showed up. He confronted Bill about shutting him out of the meetings. Bill was surprised to find out that Kenneth was at Martin’s house. He thought Tyrell wasn’t in danger. At the casino, Joey wanted to know what happened to the money Randy was supposed to bring back. Joey called Malone and let him know that Randy went rogue but he got the voicemail. Later on, Bill called Joey to let him know that Randy kept the money and didn’t finish the job of killing Kenneth. He told Joey to fix it or everyone was screwed. At Uptown, Ashley was nervous about her date with Andre. She said she and Derek made memories there so she wasn’t sure if she could handle being there. Andre said it wasn’t a big deal. He convinced Ashley to go through with the date. When they went inside, she saw Derek on a date. Ashley and Andre went to their table. She couldn’t believe Derek would go to Uptown with Shanice. Andre said she was doing the same thing. Derek let Shanice know they would go out on another date. Andre talked to Ashley about inheriting his parents’ money after they died. He talked about how he was keeping their legacies alive. Ashley wondered why he was still single. Andre said relationships were overrated. He said the couples he knew talked about forever until it was over. Andre said the key was to meet someone who made you forget why you played it safe. He said she was that person and grabbed her hand. Dani showed up and saw them holding hands. She was furious.

Chelsea was torn about Allison and Madison. Madison was listening to Chelsea and Allison while they were talking. Alllison admitted that she still had feelings for her. She told Chelsea that she missed her and wanted another chance with her. Allison touched Chelsea’s hand. Chelsea told her that she was in love with another woman. She told her that it was too late. Chelsea told her that her heart belonged to Madison. Madison was happy that Chelsea said that and decided to sneak out of Uptown. Allison told Chelsea that she wanted to be friends with her. Chelsea told her to make things right with Craig. Allison promised to break up with Craig if Chelsea would give her another chance. She couldn’t believe that Chelsea had feelings for another person that fast. Chelsea felt Allison should have more pride and left Uptown. Smitty worked on his story on Marcel Malone when his editor wanted him to kill the story. He was upset because he found out too much information to drop the story now. After he finished talking to his editor, Smitty got a call from his source. He found out the name of the person who testified at Malone’s Internal Affairs hearing. Smitty found out the person was Vernon Dupree. Martin arrived at home while Smitty was saying his grandfather’s name. Smitty lied to him about why he was talking about Vernon. Elon advised Jacob to stop talking to Smitty about Malone. He said that Smitty rubbed Malone the wrong way during their initial interview. Malone felt like he was asking too many questions. Jacob told his father that Smitty was doing his job. Smitty arrived at the police station in time to hear Elon talking about intrusive reporters on the phone. He assumed that Elon was talking to Malone. Smitty began asking Elon questions about everything he didn’t want to talk to him about. He wanted to know why Vernon testified on Malone’s behalf. Elon agreed to talk to him off-the-record. He told him that Vernon volunteered to testify. Vernon had information about the charges against Malone. Elon said that his testimony helped get the investigation dropped. After his interview with Smitty, Elon called Vernon to meet him at the station. Once Vernon arrived, Elon told him what Smitty knew. Vernon wasn’t worried about Smitty because he didn’t know Martin’s connection to the situation.

Dani and Vanessa were at the country club. She wanted Vanessa to help her find office space. Vanessa admitted that Doug got into financial trouble. Dani wondered if it had anything to do with his gambling problem. Vanessa told her that the situation was handled. Martin arrived at the country club and went after Dani and Vanessa waiter. He thought the waiter was Kenneth, but he was wrong. Dani and Vanessa were shocked by Martin’s behavior. Randy put a gun on Kenneth at Joey’s casino. He said that the money was a ploy to get him to drop his guard. The man messed with the wrong people, and Randy had to finish the job. He invited Kenneth to go for a ride. After the “ride,” Randy went back to the casino. Joey was reflecting on his sex sessions with Vanessa. Randy let him know that the job was done. He said that there was a problem. Randy thought someone saw him dump the body at the docks. Doug arrived in time to see Randy and Joey exchange bills. Joey explained what he thought he saw. Doug didn’t believe him. He thought Randy looked scared. Martin went home and found Tyrell playing chess with a friend. It turned out that the friend was Kenneth.

Martin went to Joey’s casino to meet Kenneth. Bill showed up and told Martin was doing more harm than good by getting his hands dirty. He told Martin that they should stick with the plan and told Martin to stop. Martin agreed not to do anything, but Joey wasn’t convinced that he wouldn’t. When Martin left, Bill and Joey talked about their businesses. Joey wanted Bill to join his business if he ever decided to change careers. After he talked to Bill, he wanted Randy to do something important. Martin went to the country club and saw Kenneth. Kenneth went to the casino and saw Bill there. He told Kenneth he could call him the fixer and his worst nightmare. Bill warned him about the powerful family he was up against. He warned Kenneth about what would happen if he didn’t back off. Bill advised him to leave or suffer the consequences. He gave Kenneth two days to get out of town and put money on the table. Bill said his involvement was over and anything that happened to Kenneth was his own doing.

Chelsea waited for Madison to show up for their date, but she didn’t. Kat found out Madison left the hospital hours ago and wondered where she was. Madison showed up at Uptown for the date. They talked on the date and decided to make their relationship official. Allison showed up and wanted to talk to Chelsea. Chelsea told her it was a bad time. Madison was ready to end the date because she had an early day at the hospital. Allison said Madison had it all. She apologized and said it wasn’t her business to grill her about her romance. Allison told Chelsea that she backed away from her because her husband gave her an ultimatum that she would lose him forever if she didn’t choose him. Allison said she gave Chelsea up to save her marriage but things changed. Chelsea didn’t know what to think when Allison said she wanted another chance with her. Leslie invited Eva to dinner at Orphey Gene’s. A surprised Eva was shocked that Leslie invited her. Leslie said she was lonely. Eva didn’t believe her and thought she was looking for sympathy. Leslie said it hurt her that Eva didn’t want to be closer. She said it was the two of them all along and now she was alone. Eva said she should have thought about that before she got her revenge on Ted. Leslie talked to her about what led her to be with Ted. Eva asked Leslie if she knew how to be a mother. Leslie convinced Eva that she did know how to be a mother. While they were talking, Kat and Jacob showed up at Orphey Gene’s. They sat near Leslie and Eva and talked about the investigation. Jacob told Kat that an expert noticed a scratch on the helmet in the security footage. He said if they could match it to the helmet they had in evidence, Leslie would be caught. Eva told Leslie that Kat was helpful at Ted’s office, but Leslie warned her to be careful with Kat. Leslie apologized to Eva for getting her involved in her scheme. She said it would take time, but meeting for dinner was a step in the right direction.

Vernon called his family to meet at the house. He wanted them to know that Anita was back in town. Anita noticed tension between Nicole and Dani. She also noticed something going on with Vernon. Anita wanted to talk to them separately. She started with Dani. Dani couldn’t believe the way Nicole was treating her. She blurted out that she was sleeping with Andre. Dani said Andre wasn’t blood related to them and wondered what Anita thought about it. Anita said Dani has been through a lot and deserved happiness. She wondered why Dani and Andre haven’t gone public yet. Anita thought Dani was hoping that Bill would come back to her. She suggested that Dani focus on Andre and time would take care of the rest. Anita told Dani that Nicole didn’t hate her. After her talk with Dani, Anita had a talk with Nicole. Anita defended Dani seeing Andre. She asked Nicole why it was her business if Dani and Andre sleep with each other. Anita reminded her that Dani and Andre weren’t related to each other. Nicole said she was tired of rationalizing other people’s lies. She admitted that she was upset because of what is happening in her life. Anita said she had a right to be upset but it was at the wrong person. She advised her to blame the people who hurt her.

After Anita talked with Nicole and Dani, Nicole said she and Dani would handle things. They went to Uptown to talk things out. Nicole told Dani that she was projecting her anger towards her. Dani said she was sad that Nicole was in the position she’s in and told Nicole that she didn’t have to apologize. Nicole said she wasn’t sorry. She said Dani should be supporting her not causing more drama in her life. Dani was upset about Nicole’s comment. Nicole accused Dani of using Andre and said if she loved him, she would show him off at the club. She accused Dani of hiding him like a secret. Dani was upset about that too. Martin told Vernon that he was thinking about his meeting with Kenneth. Vernon advised him to keep it together and to keep it from Anita. Martin said he understood that he had to fake it until Kenneth went away. At Orphey Gene’s Jacob wanted Smitty to ask Martin what happened between him and Marcel. Smitty said that wouldn’t be easy but Martin never answers him. Jacob decided to be honest with Naomi and told her who the reporter was in the Marcel situation. He told her that Smitty thought Marcel did something to Martin. They thought Joey and Marcel might have teamed up to blackmail Martin over what happened that night. Naomi thought they should go to Vernon. Jacob agreed with her. Martin told Smitty that he loved their life together and apologized for not supporting his dream. He said he wouldn’t make Smitty worry anymore and said he would get his nightmares under control. Smitty thought Marin was worried about something else. At the hospital, Ted apologized to Andre for Nicole’s reaction to him being with Dani. He said his betrayal was why Nicole sees everything as a betrayal, but he thought she would come around. Andre said he didn’t think there would be a future. He said he was in, but didn’t think Dani was. After Ted’s talk with Andre, Eva showed up for work but wasn’t getting it as fast as she did with Nicole. Eva thought Kat was right about him not having the right daughter for the job. Ted called Kat and asked her to train Eva. Kat refused at first but changed her mind. When Kat showed up, things were icy between her and Eva until they started getting along. Ashley told Andre that she and Derek were over. Andre let her know that she wasn’t a bad person for knowing what she wanted. She said it was time for her to move on from Derek and asked Andre out. Ashley wanted to go to Uptown, but Andre didn’t think that was a good idea. Andre said he didn’t want to ruin their relationship, but Ashley said they could still be friends if it didn’t work.

Martin wanted answers from Bill about what happened at the meeting. Bill felt like it was better that he didn’t know. He reminded Martin that he wasn’t the only person who would face consequences if the truth came out. Bill wanted to know who the busboy was that harassed him. He wanted to see his face. Martin confronted Kenneth. Kenneth wanted to know if Martin had his money. He wanted to meet him at River Bridge. Kenneth demanded that Martin meet him there alone. If he pulled any stunts, the deal would be off. He planned to make him front-page news. Martin wanted to meet him at the casino instead because he had the money there. Hayley and Dani arrived at the hospital. Dani didn’t believe that Hayley was having an emergency. She told Ashley that Hayley was only fantasizing about being pregnant. Ashley told her that stomach pain could be a sign of a miscarriage. Dani didn’t believe Hayley was having a miscarriage. Ashley brushed off her comments and said that it would be hard to fake a pregnancy with modern technology. She called Bill to tell him about Hayley being in the hospital. Bill arrived at the hospital. He was grateful that Dani got her to the hospital. Ashley told Dani that Bill wouldn’t be happy about Hayley’s miscarriage. He might blame her for bringing chaos in Hayley’s life. Ted met with Eva. He claimed he had to deal with a medical emergency. She didn’t believe he had an emergency. Eva didn’t need to know everything he did, but she thought he should tell Nicole the truth. She advised him to earn Nicole’s trust. If Nicole found out that he was keeping secrets, he would lose her for good. Nicole wanted Andre to come to her house. She demanded that he stop seeing her sister. They knew their relationship was wrong. He refused to back down to her. Andre felt like their relationship was okay even if she didn’t approve of it. Nicole felt like he took advantage of Dani. She didn’t approve of him seducing Dani while she was vulnerable. He let her know that he doesn’t take advantage of women. Any woman who is with him wants to be. Nicole felt like he earned his playboy image and should have known to stay away from her sister. He felt like he’s been good for Dani because he’s been there for her. Andre didn’t understand why Nicole was upset about it. Nicole told him that he was a short-term solution to her problem.  It turned out that Hayley’s pregnant, and the baby was fine. Hayley had stomach pains because it’s normal during early stages of pregnancy. Bill missed the ultrasound, so Hayley wanted the doctor to send the video of their baby. Hayley admitted to suffering from paranoia. She admitted to Bill that she saw his car at Dani’s place and confronted her about it. Hayley told him that Dani said she would lose him. She wanted to know why he was at Dani’s place. Bill let her know that he went there to tell her that he chose her. He blamed Dani for causing Hayley’s stomach pain. Bill wanted to rip Dani’s head off, but Hayley didn’t want him to give her the satisfaction.

Ted went to see Nicole. He wanted to come clean about something. She told him that she was his partner, and he shouldn’t keep secrets from her. He tried to tell her about Martin’s problem, but she thought he was talking about Andre sleeping with Dani. She told him that he was too late because Dani admitted everything. They ended up arguing because she was mad that he knew about the affair. He let her know that the Duprees mess up too and that she should show the same understanding that she does with her patients. Ted told her that everyone’s afraid of letting her down. He kept his affair with Leslie a secret for the family. Ted wanted her to understand that he still loved her. She felt they were too far apart, but he wanted her to come off her pedestal so they wouldn’t be. Dani was comforting Ashley at the hospital when Andre showed up. He told her about his conversation with Nicole. Bill thanked Dani for helping Hayley and their baby. He wanted to rub his happiness in her face. Bill couldn’t thank her enough for helping with his new family. He wanted to spoil Hayley for life. After everyone left the hospital, Ashley noticed that Hayley’s ultrasound wasn’t in the system. She found out that Hayley didn’t want to have an ultrasound done. Kat told Tomas that she was ready to have sex with him. She felt like they weren’t on the same page. They started getting intimate until he heard a noise. Kat wanted to know what was going on. Tomas wanted to talk before things went too far between them. At the country club, Kat told Ted that it was a mistake to hire Eva as the office manager. She said Eva couldn’t be trusted as long as she was still involved with Leslie. Kat said they were evil and tied together forever. She told him that Eva ignored her warning about Leslie’s involvement in Laura’s accident. Eva said the police couldn’t pin Leslie for Laura’s accident. Ted tried to make peace for them by telling them that they were both bright and had more in common than they realize. Kat said she had to leave to meet Tomas. When Ted noticed Kenneth, he left too. Kat was ready for her dinner with Tomas. Eva went to their table and talked to Tomas about books. Kat wasn’t happy about it. An upset Kat made Eva leave the table. Tomas told her Eva was being nice. Kat said she was trying to ruin their date. She told him that she loved being with him and wanted tonight to be her first time. Bill went to Dani’s place to apologize for everything he put her through. He said no one knew him the way she did. Bill said she saved him when she visited him at the hospital. He said he felt trapped in his body and wasn’t himself. When she walked into his room, she read him with a look. He said he wasn’t going back to her because he belonged with Hayley. While he was talking, he told Dani that he regretted the way he left her. He said he felt trapped and blamed her for not realizing his pain. Dani said she felt it but didn’t realize it was Hayley. Bill said they were going through the motions and called himself a coward for walking out on her the way he did. He apologized for not honoring her the way he should have. When he apologized for opening old wounds, Dani said they never closed. She said she blamed herself for what happened to their marriage so she appreciated the apology.

When Bill left Dani’s place, Hayley showed up. Hayley told Dani not to mistake Bill’s visit for anything other than nostalgia. She let Dani know that she was secure in her marriage, but Dani didn’t believe her. Hayley warned Dani that she would die waiting if she thought Bill was going back to her. While they were talking, Hayley had a pain in her stomach. Dani asked if she hurt her imaginary fetus. Smitty continued to work on the Marcel story. He had proof that Marcel had $50,000 in a private bank account. Martin said he had a bad feeling about it and thought Smitty should drop the story. He told Smitty that the article wasn’t worth their future. Jacob was concerned about Marcel’s dealings. He thought Marcel betrayed his father. Smitty called to meet him at Orphey Gene’s. Jacob agreed to meet him. Smitty told him about what happened two years ago before Marcel got the money in his bank account. He said Martin went to a political event with Vernon and then came home wearing different clothes. He said Martin told him he ruined his suit changing a tire, but freaked out when he asked him for more information. Smitty said he thinks Martin witnessed a crime and Marcel targeted him for it. He told Jacob he would bring Marcel down if he was a threat to his husband. Vernon, Chief Hawthorne, Marcel, and Joey met to talk about the man who reached out to Martin about the incident. They talked about making sure the truth never came out. Ted showed up and asked if they were going to make plans without him. He said he wanted to be in on the plans since his son was involved. Bill showed up to the meeting. Joey said sticking together would guarantee that they get away free. When Martin showed up, he realized Ted has known all along. Martin said it started and ended with him. He said they couldn’t keep him out of it.

Kat pressed Jacob to do what he needed to do to bring Leslie down. While they were talking about her, Leslie walked into Orphey Gene’s. She sat at their table and let them know that she was tired of them trying to frame her. Leslie felt like Kat was a brat with no control and thought them getting worked up was everything. She offered to help them with their investigation. Kat felt like she was delusional. Leslie warned them that it would be better for them if she worked with them instead of against them. She told them that Bill laughed when she told him about the case against her. After Leslie left, Jacob told Kat that the DNA match was 97.5 percent. The test showed that the helmet belonged to Leslie, but it didn’t prove that she was the person who ran Laura off the road. Dani was working on contracts for her modeling agency when she had a vision of Bill. She asked him why she couldn’t stop thinking about him. Pamela arrived and stopped her from reaching out to Bill. Dani assured her that she was over Bill, but she admitted that she felt conflicted. Pamela asked her about Hayley and Dani wasn’t concerned about her. She told her that Andre was a better man for her than Bill. They decided to talk about their business. While they were talking about their company, Dani thought about happier times with Bill. Dani called Bill, and he assured her that he wasn’t available. Dani let him know that he would be. Bill met with Vernon at the Dupree mansion. He told Vernon assured him that he wasn’t the one with the problem. Bill felt like Vernon and his family were the problem. Vernon said that Bill worked with family for years. He let him know that if the Duprees went down, he would go down with them. Before Bill was trying to leave, he wanted an apology from him for the way the family treated Haley.They talk about the way Bill treated Dani over the years. Vernon and Bill also talked about the way the family turned on him because of Hayley. Wayne didn’t plan to do Vernon’s bidding. Vernon warned him about a mutual problem they shared. He told him about an enemy they shored. Vernon told him about Kenneth. The men went back and forth insulting each other. Vernon warned him that he wouldn’t come out looking good. Bill eventually told him that he would wait for his call.

Martin confronted Kenneth. H demanded to know what Kenneth wanted from him. Kenneth wanted him to squirm. He said something strange about Samantha. Martin was ready to punch him in the face for that. Kenneth wanted justice, but he wanted it in the form of money. He told him that he wanted $100,000 for now. Kenneth planned on getting more money from him. He said to consider the money reparations. Kenneth doesn’t need Martin to be intimidated by him. He wanted Martin to fear him. If Martin did anything wrong, Kenneth planned to turn him to the police. Martin tried to blackmail Kenneth too, but he didn’t care. He walked away from Martin and felt like he had the upper hand. Later, Martin told Vernon what happened with Kenneth. He wanted to come clean about everything, but Vernon didn’t want him to tell it. His advice was to wait and see what happens next. Bill was on his phone talking about someone about taking drastic measures when Tomas walked into the room. Tomas tried to overhear something, but he didn’t. Bill warned him that knowing too much could be dangerous.

Kenneth was talking about the night in question. He said Martin had friends in high places who cleaned up everything. Martin doubted that he was the guy he claimed to be. Kenneth said enough to make Martin suspicious of him. Martin tried to buy Kenneth off, but he said he couldn’t be bought. He hated him and what he stood for. His brother would have said the same thing if he were still there. Kenneth finished Martin’s thought for him. Vernon told someone on the phone that the person who would pay for disappointing him. Martin approached Vernon after his phone call. He told Vernon that what happened two years ago has come back to haunt them. Martin told him that what happened could destroy the family. Vernon was determined to keep that from happening. Martin felt like Kenneth gave them exactly what they needed. Vernon told him that if Kenneth approached Martin, he should go directly to him. Vernon talked to Martin about what they went through as Duprees. He refused to back down from a fight. Vernon and Martin promised to be there for each other. After Martin left, Vernon got on the phone again. He warned the person that someone was back. Vanessa let Doug know that she figured out a way to solve their problem with Joey. Doug hated watching how excited Vanessa was about the situation. She was determined to get the information about Joey’s illegal activities. Doug insulted Vanessa, but she reminded him that he was the reason why they were in that situation. Once Joey is paid, Doug would be done with him.

Ted was surprised to find his door open, and Nicole in his room. She wanted him to stop sending her flowers every day. Nicole let him know that she was giving his flowers to the nurses. She told him that she was there because they needed to talk about legal arrangements if they were staying separated. Ted wanted to move back to the house so they could work things out, but Nicole didn’t want that. She wanted to get her life back as an individual. Nicole let him know that he broke her. Ted hated what he did to her. Every time she looked at him all she could think about was Leslie. He felt like they could survive Leslie, and they could move on from her. Nicole wanted to work on herself even though he wanted to get back together. Smitty went to the police station and talked to Jacob. He wanted his help. Smitty wanted to meet with Jacob somewhere else so they could talk about a crooked cop. The chief heard part of their conversation. He wanted to meet with Monroe. They realized that the walls were closing on them. Jacob and Smitty went to Orphey Gene’s to talk. He couldn’t believe Smitty’s story was about Monroe. They compared notes and realized that Joey was paying Monroe. Monroe and the chief played poker with Doug. They were trying to find the best way to take care of Smitty. Smitty and Jacob talked about what they were going to do next. Vanessa interrupted the card game. She realized that it was more than poker. Joey felt like their relationship should have boundaries. He felt like she was getting too close to his profession. Joey thought Vanessa wouldn’t be able to handle it if she knew everything that he did. She called his bluff and wanted to know what he was doing.

After hearing Kenneth’s voice, Martin was convinced that he was the person he was hearing in his visions. He knew the voice sounded the same. Martin left the club, but he forgot to take his keys. He went back for them, but the keys were gone. Martin thought that Kenneth took the keys. Vernon made a call to someone about dealing with Martin’s situation. He was angry when he told someone that it wasn’t supposed to happen that way. The problem needed to be handled immediately. Vernon threatened the person on the phone. He reminded the caller that he wasn’t someone you wanted to mess with. Hayley noticed that Bill took out a $10 million policy. She wanted to know if his condition was worse than she thought. Bill assured her that he did it to make sure that she would be taken care of if something happened to him. Kat wanted to talk to Chelsea about them getting sued for copyright infringement. Chelsea wanted to talk about her love life. After seeing the documents, Chelsea thought their dream of having a purse empire might be over. Chelsea left to talk to her father about the paperwork. Kat met up with Jacob to find out how the investigation was going. Naomi arrived to tell Jacob that June’s belongings were taken during a cleanup of the homeless encampment. June was upset because they took her picture of her children.

Kat met with Tomas to get legal advice. She wanted to talk about Leslie. Kat wondered if she could circumvent the police to get her DNA test ran. Tomas told her the results would be inadmissible because the evidence would be broken. They changed the subject and talked about Kat virginity. Tomas realized that things are worth waiting for. Chelsea went to see Bill about the lawsuit. He assured her that she could ignore the lawsuit. She wondered why she should ignore the case. Bill told her that the company that’s suing her would have an uphill battle trying to prove their case. Jacob butted heads with Monroe at the station. Smitty talked to Tyrell about the story he’s working on. He said that he was doing an article about a dirty cop. Smitty felt like the story could lead to illegal payoffs. Monroe suddenly came into some money two years ago. Smitty felt like it was connected to Martin. Monroe and the chief talked about Smitty’s investigation. They talked about Smitty’s investigation would lead to his home. Jacob found a box of June’s belongings, and it had a picture inside of it. June was happy to retrieve her things. She promised that she wouldn’t lose them again.

Chelsea brought Madison to the Dupree mansion so her family could meet Madison. When Dani showed up, Chelsea asked if her boyfriend was going to be there. A shocked Dani said he wasn’t her boyfriend. Nicole showed up and wondered why a neurologist was there. Dani said she was Chelsea’s girlfriend. Nicole was shocked to learn that Madison was Chelsea’s girlfriend. It made Madison wonder if things were going too fast. When Vernon showed up, he handled the situation. He told Dani and Nicole to leave so he could talk to Chelsea and Madison. Vernon told Chelsea that he was surprised that she set up the meeting so soon into their relationship. Chelsea said it was Dani’s idea. Later on, Dani told Madison that the family has been through a lot which made them cautious about strangers. Madison said she wouldn’t do anything to hurt Chelsea. Vernon gave the couple his support. When Dani and Vernon were alone, he told her Chelsea was moving too quickly with Madison. Andre told Ted that his relationship with Dani was basically outted. Ted wondered how Nicole would take the news. Andre thought Dani was keeping their relationship a secret because she’s afraid he will hurt her the way Bill hurt her. Changing the subject, Andre brought up Ted’s love life. He told Ted to make a move before it was too late.

Nicole and Dani caught up with each other. Dani told Nicole that Bill was being released from the hospital. Nicole said she wished Ted had been honest with her years ago. Dani confessed to Nicole that she and Andre have been sleeping together for months. Nicole was upset by the news to which Dani told her she and Andre weren’t related by blood. A relieved Nicole was glad Dani finally told her instead of lying to her. Despite being glad that Dani told her the truth, Nicole didn’t like the idea of her being with Andre. Dani asked if she was jealous. An upset Nicole stormed off. Bill’s recovery wasn’t going as planned. He wanted alcohol and steak, but Hayley wouldn’t let him have it. Shanice showed up for his physical therapy. Naomi showed up to check on him. She said she wasn’t going to be friends with Hayley. When Naomi and Bill were alone, she let him know that him not being around was unbearable. After Naomi and Shanice left, Hayley told Bill that she didn’t know what she would do if she lost him. Bill said she wouldn’t lose him. Derek showed up at Ashley’s apartment to get the rest of his things. They ended up arguing when the subject of her turning down his proposal. Ashley said getting married to fix their relationship wasn’t a good thing. Derek wondered when the right time would be. She ended up getting sick before they could talk. After she finished, they tried to figure out if their relationship could be saved. Ashley said Derek was a great guy, but she didn’t know when she would be ready to marry him. He wondered if she was waiting for someone else. While they were talking, Derek told Ashley that their relationship was over.

Chelsea and Madison spent the night together. Madison was upset when Chelsea grabbed her phone after they were together. She thought that she was telling people about their night together. Chelsea assured her that she didn’t talk about their time together. Madison was concerned about her addiction to her phone. Chelsea informed her that social media was part of her job. Madison told her that the most important connections are in person. She agreed with Madison and put down her phone. Martin beat up the busser at the club. He demanded answers from him. The busser told him that he saw him before, but there were a lot of people that come in and out of the club. Martin demanded that he repeat the phrase he told him. He thought it would confirm his suspicions, but it didn’t help. Martin was about to leave when he ran into Naomi. She sensed that something was wrong with him. Martin didn’t feel like opening up to her so he brushed her off and left the club. He went home, and Smitty noticed that something was wrong with him. Smitty told Martin about his interview with Marcel. His announcement triggered flashbacks for Martin. Martin admitted that his nightmares didn’t go away. Smitty didn’t understand what Marcel had to do with Martin’s nightmares. He wanted Martin to tell him everything he knew about the nightmares. Martin remembered how Vernon said to keep his family safe by not telling them about the nightmares. He decided not to tell Smitty the truth, but he promised to get help when things get out of control.

Andre and Dani talk about whether they should go public with their relationship. He thought Kat and Chelsea already knew about them. Dani was upset about the idea that they knew about them. She thought Chelsea wouldn’t like her being with someone closer to her age, and Nicole would be upset with both of them that they were together. Dani wasn’t happy about it when Andre told her that he talked to Ted about their relationship. He said that he told Ted by mistake. Andre wondered if her attitude had something to do with Bill. Dani denied his accusation. She admitted that she was afraid of getting played. Dani was tired of men treating her like she wasn’t good enough. Andre didn’t like that she lumped him in with the likes of Bill. Dani wondered if there were other women for him. He swore she was the only one for him. Andre assured her that she was the only one for him. He wanted to stop hiding their relationship, and she finally agreed to do it. Chelsea showed up so Andre left. Dani was about to explain why he was there when Chelsea admitted that she was in love. Dani supported her decision. She wasn’t shocked to find out that Chelsea loved Madison. Dani reminded her about her last relationship and didn’t think she should rush into it. She told Chelsea that she could invite Madison over for dinner. Chelsea told her that she could invite her new boyfriend too. Joey and Vanessa had just enough time to put their clothes on when Doug arrived at the casino. He demanded to know what they were up to. Joey told him that they worked out a lucrative deal. Doug wanted a moment alone with Vanessa. He insulted Joey’s casino. Joey warned him that he put people in the hospital for less. Doug wanted a few minutes with his wife. He didn’t like Vanessa working with Joey so much. She reminded him that he was the reason why she had to work with Joey. She refused to let Joey have his way with her. Doug wondered if she already did that. Joey came back, and Doug offered a new deal for him. He and Vanessa would take a 20% commission that they would split evenly. Doug threatened him too. He said that he knew enough that he would want him to remain close.

At the country club, Martin thought he heard the busboy say what color his money was. The busboy said he asked if he was ready for the check. Vernon wanted to know why Martin was upset. Martin said he was starting to hear things. He told Vernon that he thought he heard the busboy ask him what color his money was. Vernon said that was what was said that night. Martin wondered if the busboy really said what he thought he heard. He also wondered if the busboy was the one who said it. Vernon said that wasn’t possible since he hired someone to keep an eye on the guy after he took the settlement money and left the country. At Orphey Gene’s Andre ran into Naomi. Naomi told him about her father. While they were talking, they talked about Ashley and Derek. Andre said he felt bad talking about Ashley and Derek’s problems behind their backs. Naomi said it was okay since they were trying to make their relationship work. Andre pretended to be happy when Naomi said Derek planned to propose to Ashley. Naomi thought it was too soon. She said Derek’s accident messed with his and Ashley’s emotions which made them decide to move in with each other.

Ashley was shocked when Derek pulled out the ring. Derek said they didn’t have to elope that night. He just wanted to make it official that they belong together. Derek said the ring would tie them together. He asked if Ashley would wear the ring. Ashley turned down his proposal because she wasn’t ready. Derek wanted to know why she didn’t want to get married. Ashley said it didn’t feel right. She said when they moved in together, a voice in her head told her they didn’t do it for the right reasons, so she decided to listen to the voice now. Derek said he heard a voice in his head saying that she was playing him. Ashley said she was being honest and told him he was just as unsure about them as she was. She assured him that she wasn’t waiting for a better option and wasn’t looking for one. Derek told her they should both look for better options. He left her in the bar. Andre showed up at the club. Ashley told him that Derek proposed to her but it felt like an ultimatum. Andre said Derek was a hothead, but he would calm down and realize the mistake he made. Ashley didn’t think so. She felt her future walk out when Derek left. Joey met Vanessa at the casino. Vanessa ripped into him for seducing her on the same table where he was cheating her husband at cards. She thought he wanted his hands on her real estate agency. Vanessa said he needed a reputable business so he could do his dirt. She thought he was going to use her business to launder his money. Joey told her she didn’t have any bargaining power. He reminded her that she owed him a lot of money. Joey said he cared about her more than Doug did which was why he came up with a proposal. He said she would arrange real estate deals for him and the commission would pay off Doug’s gambling debt. Vanessa told him all she had to do was ask. She said she didn’t want to be his partner and not his mark. Joey told her she was overplaying her hand. Vanessa told him she would use her connections to shut his illegal activities down for good. She said she liked him so there was no reason for them to go to war with each other. Joey agreed to her terms, and they ended up having sex. Martin was still suspicious of the busboy and attacked him on the way out. He asked the busboy why he was talking to him, what he wanted, and who he was.

Martin was at the country club with Vernon. He told him about his nightmares and how they are getting worse. Martin didn’t know what would help him if he could get help. He told Vernon that he talked to his mother about it. Vernon wasn’t happy about it. He wondered if Martin knew what he did. Vernon felt like the only way to keep the family safe was for Martin to confide in him. The family would only be safe if Martin decided not to tell the family what happened. It was hard to keep quiet, but Vernon managed not to say anything to the family about Martin. Martin thought things could get worse. He didn’t notice the man watching him at the country club. Vernon left when Anita called him. The man asked Martin what color his money was. It was the same thing that Martin heard in his nightmare. Chelsea and Kat hung out at Dani’s guesthouse. Tomas helped them move in the house. Kat pretended to be jealous when Chelsea and Dani started flirting with him. Dani offered him a modeling job. After he left, Dani wanted to know if Tomas was worthy of Kat. Dani was happy that Chelsea and Kat were moving into the guesthouse. Chelsea called Madison and flirted with her. Kat heard it and realized that she was in a relationship with the doctor. They started talking when Andre arrived. He barged into the house demanding to see Dani. Andre tried to cover, but it was too late when he mentioned that he wasn’t related to the Duprees. They put it together that Dani and Andre were hooking up. Chelsea didn’t see anything wrong with it.

Bill wanted to be released from the hospital. He talked to Madison about it. Hayley had a plan to keep him in line with his physical therapy. Bill wasn’t sure he was ready for what she had planned. She showed him a slideshow of their lives together. Hayley wanted him to take care of himself and be around for them. She showed him a picture of herself wearing lingerie. Dani showed up at the hospital and ran into Tomas. She wondered if he was making Kat happy. He thought Kat was special. Tomas cared about her. Dani warned him not to hurt her or he would have to leave town. She barged into Bill’s room and turned on the lights. Dani was shocked to find Bill and Hayley making out in his bed. She told him that she would talk to him about the kids later. Bill wanted to hear about them. Hayley didn’t want to hear about them. Ashley talked to Andre about her relationship with Derek. She wasn’t sure if he was asking her out to dinner because he wanted to break up with her in public.  Derek was talking to Naomi about whether he should go through with his plan for tonight. Ashley asked Andre what he would do if he were in Derek’s situation. Andre said he wouldn’t let her go. After their conversation, Ashley got dressed up to meet with Derek. She wanted to make sure she looked good when she had to walk away. Ashley and Derek met at Uptown. She was ready to get dumped, but Derek surprised her. Derek told her that she made him a better man and asked her to marry him.

Kat and Eva ran into the country club. They got into a heated argument. Eva called Kat out for planting evidence in her mother’s apartment. She thought Kat was the only one who had a reason to do it. Kat didn’t approve of being called a common thief, but Eva refused to back down to her. She told Kat that her mother is a storm and destroys everything in her path. Kat felt like Leslie was a cockroach. Eva didn’t want to talk to Kat anymore. She told Kat to take a page out of Martin’s book and accept how things are. Smitty found out what his next story was going to be about. He found out that he had to investigate Jacob’s partner, Marcel Malone. Martin thought Smitty was too good to do a story like that. Smitty was moved that Martin finally took an interest in his work. Jacob met with Marcel at Uptown. They saw Leslie at the bar. Jacob was upset that he couldn’t get a warrant to test her DNA. Marcel warned him that he wouldn’t get what he wanted if he kept playing by the rules. Leslie walked out of the bar just as Jacob received an upsetting call. He wondered what the person wanted now. Kat met with Mona to talk about Leslie. Mona still couldn’t believe that she convinced Nicole to hire Eva. Kat didn’t want her to feel guilty about it. She wanted Mona to be the person who got Leslie out of their lives for good. They devised a plan to take Leslie down.

Mona met with Leslie at Orphey Gene’s. She apologized to Leslie for the way she spoke to her when they saw each other. Leslie accepted her apology. Mona told Leslie that Laura didn’t hold a grudge against Eva for what happened. She told Leslie that the church teaches forgiveness. Leslie asked her if she forgave her. Mona wasn’t ready to forgive yet, but she was willing to hear her side of the story. Jacob walked into Orphey Gene’s because Kat called him. He didn’t like how Kat was playing amateur detective again when he told her to stay away from Leslie. Jacob thought Kat had more in common with Leslie than sh realized. She couldn’t believe that he would compare her to Leslie. Kat felt like she had the right to go after Leslie and Eva since she was right about them. Leslie and Mona were eating powdered donuts. Mona noticed that Leslie got powder on her mouth and took it off of her. She empathized with Leslie for wanting her daughter to have a relationship with her father. Mona thought she could have told Ted privately. She didn’t have to go after Nicole. Mona called her out for taking pleasure in watching Nicole suffer. She couldn’t get over that and couldn’t forgive Leslie for that. Leslie decided on a new plan. She played the victim. Leslie felt it was cruel of Mona to invite her out only to ambush her. She thought that Mona was just as mean as she said she was. Leslie stormed out of Orphey Gene’s. Mona approached Kat and told her that they got what they wanted. She got Leslie’s DNA. Jacob couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Kat reminded him that she and Mona got Leslie’s DNA in a public place so it was fair game. If Leslie’s DNA matched what was on the helmet, Jacob would have the evidence he needed to arrest her. Ted met with Eva for lunch. She talked about how she missed working for Nicole. Eva enjoyed doing hair, but she loved her job with Nicole. Ted decided to give her another option. He wanted her to work for him since Kat was on leave. Eva didn’t think Kat would train her for the position. She didn’t understand how he could trust her.

Bill told Shanice that he didn’t need physical therapy. Shanice didn’t agree with him and proceeded with the therapy. He was able to ball up a piece of paper with his left hand but struggled with his right hand. When he threw the paper, it almost hit Madison on her way in the room. After Bill got more physical therapy, Madison asked if his daughter was coming to visit him. When he went on about Naomi, Madison said she wasn’t the one she was talking about. She asked him how he felt about Chelsea having a huge following on social media. He said he supported Chelsea, but he was wary about the problems that arise being in the public eye. Laura continued having trouble getting back on her feet. Nicole assured her she was doing great and was doing so before Eva worked for her. Laura asked if Eva could come by and help her with the new system. Nicole gave in and said she missed the sweet Eva she knew as her assistant. While Nicole was talking, she blamed herself for not seeing Eva’s true intentions. Nicole apologized to Laura for dumping all her problems on her. Later on, Eva showed up at the office. Laura let her know that Nicole missed her. Eva said she didn’t deserve to be in Nicole’s life after what she did. Laura advised her to have an open mind about things getting back to normal. Eva said she didn’t deserve Nicole’s forgiveness, but she missed her.

Jacob went to Leslie’s apartment. He said he was given a second search warrant to look for evidence. Jacob told her he was sure he would find something. When Jacob searched the apartment, he found the helmet and gloves in the living room. Leslie said the evidence was planted on her to frame her. At Orphey Gene’s, Kat asked Chelsea about her relationship with Madison. Chelsea said nothing was going on and that Madison was just her father’s doctor. While Chelsea was talking, she brought up wanting to date Madison, but she had to come out to her family. They changed the subject to talk about their business. Chelsea suggested that they move into Dani’s guest house which could be a showroom for their line. Kat said Dani wouldn’t respect their boundaries. While they were talking, Jacob showed up and told Kat what happened at Leslie’s apartment. He said he searched the apartment a few days ago and the evidence wasn’t there. Jacob said he thought the evidence was planted. Kat denied planting the evidence. Jacob got a call confirming that the helmet they found matched the one that the driver was wearing. Jacob got another call from the judge. The judge wouldn’t give Jacob another warrant to arrest Leslie and get DNA. Leslie called Eva and told her it was the end of the world. Eva went to Leslie’s apartment and was shocked to find out that the helmet and glove were back in the apartment. When Leslie accused Eva of wanting her to get caught, Eva said she would have left the evidence there in the first place. Leslie accused Eva of not loving her anymore. Eva said she wouldn’t do anything to hurt her, but she shouldn’t have hurt Laura in the first place.

Dani woke up to Andre kissing her. He figured that she had trouble sleeping because she was worried about Bill. Andre admired the way she cared about Bill after the way he treated her. He felt like she had a big heart. Dani told him that bonding with everyone almost made her forget that she hated Hayley. She wanted Andre, but Bill broke her when he left her. Dani wanted to heal her heart, but she didn’t know how to fix it. Vernon arrived at her place while she was there with Andre. Needless to say, Dani panicked. She rushed to find a place for him to hide. Vernon got a call from Jacob about Naomi so he left Dani’s place. Dani didn’t want her father to walk in on her in bed with someone. She let Andre know that she’s a mess. Andre didn’t agree with her. He saw more when he looked at her. If she would give him the word, he would make an honest woman out of her. Bill was tired of being in his hospital bed. He fell out of the bed when he tried to get his bluetooth. Hayley walked in the room and found him Ashley’s arms. She hoped he was getting rest. Chelsea followed Madison at the hospital. She introduced her to her followers. Chelsea called Madison beautiful. Madison liked the attention that Chelsea gave her. She felt like Chelsea was different. Chelsea wondered if that was a good thing or a bad one. Madison wasn’t sure yet. Later Madison ran tests on Bill and told him that he would make a full recovery. Bill felt like he wasn’t recovering fast enough. He didn’t like the idea of getting physical therapy. Bill wasn’t thrilled when he found out that Shanice was his physical therapist. He thanked Dani for checking on him. Hayley was surprised that she behaved herself. Chelsea thanked Madison for helping her father. Madison assured her that Shanice knew what she was doing and could handle her father. They flirted with each other before parting ways.

Anita was prepared to put an end to the reunion when Tracey and Sharon arrived. Tracey was determined to have her say with Anita. Anita didn’t see a point in talking. She wanted them to make the conversation quick. Tracey and Anita had their chances to talk so she thought it was her turn. She felt like their issues wouldn’t bring Barbara back. Barbara wouldn’t want them to keep fighting with each other. She wanted to know how they could move past it. Tracey wondered if there was a future for the group. Anita and Sharon didn’t think it was possible, but Tracey didn’t agree with them. She showed them pictures of their time together. Tracey wanted the ladies to remember the love they felt for each other. She wanted to put the past behind them and be with her sisters again. Tracey asked them if they could be friends again. Anita and Sharon continued to argue so Tracey stopped it. It could be the last time they reunite. Sharon thought it was exhausting carrying around so much anger. Anita agreed with her. The ladies decided to give their reunion another try. Vernon went to Orphey Gene to meet with Naomi. Naomi admitted that she was the cause of her father’s stroke. She noticed that something was wrong with him, but she didn’t make him get checked out. Vernon didn’t want her to blame herself. He talked to her about guilt killing a person. Naomi couldn’t picture him doing anything to feel guilty about. He told her about his Uncle Cornelius. He walked with Dr. Martin Luther King. Cornelius’ health declined after they played basketball. Vernon didn’t tell anyone about his health. Cornelius’ ended up having a stroke. Naomi tried to make him feel better. After talking to Vernon, she headed to the hospital to see her father. She thanked Hayley for getting Bill to the hospital quickly. Bill was thankful that Naomi was there to see him. He promised to take his physical therapy seriously. Bill realized that it was time to update his will.

Bill had to get tests to see if he had a stroke. Madison suspected that he had a stroke, but she said she wouldn’t know until he got a CT scan. Naomi and Chelsea were upset that Hayley for not telling them about their father. When they went to confront Hayley, she broke down in Naomi’s arms. They let Hayley know that it wasn’t her fault. Dani showed up at the hospital and saw Naomi holding Hayley’s hand. When Dani saw Bill, she told him not to worry about anything because he always landed on his feet. Chelsea and Naomi noticed something going on between them. Dani told Bill to listen to the doctors. She said they needed him better. Hayley didn’t like how Dani and Bill close appeared. Madison showed up and told everyone that Bill had a small stroke that could take six to eight months to recover. Chelsea asked Bill if he wanted water so she could talk to Madison. She wanted Madison to explain why she acted as if she didn’t know her. Madison said she didn’t know if Chelsea came out to her family. She told Chelsea that she was a fan of her work. Chelsea invited her to join her live stream to which Madison said she wasn’t interesting enough. Chelsea assured her that she was. Derek talked to Andre at Orphey Gene’s. He asked Andre questions about Leslie since he was worried about Ashley. Derek went to the police station to talk to Jacob about Leslie. He told Jacob that Leslie asked Ashley about the security footage. Jacob said Leslie must be getting desperate. Derek liked that she was and asked if Jacob had something that could put her away. When Jacob said he didn’t have anything on Leslie, Derek said Leslie was stalking Ashley. He was upset that the police couldn’t do anything about Leslie. Jacob got a tip about Leslie’s location, so he and Derek left to go there.

Andre went to the hospital and asked Ashley about Leslie. While they were talking, they talked about Bill and his family being around him. She said you never stop loving someone. Andre felt weird about his relationship with Dani. Nicole went to see Eva. She wanted to make sure Eva wasn’t using Laura to get back in the family’s good graces. Eva said she was only helped her the one time. She said she had a relationship with her mother because she was all she had. Eva let Nicole know that she wouldn’t choose between Leslie and Ted. Nicole said she wouldn’t make her chose, but she should be concerned about her safety. Eva said she gave her the kind of advice Ted would have given her. She apologized for breaking up Nicole and Ted’s marriage. Eva told Nicole that she wanted her and Ted to work things out. Nicole said she accepted her apology. When Andre saw Dani at the hospital, he offered to take care of her. Dani was interested until Nicole showed up later on. She pulled away from him because she didn’t want Nicole to know about them. Kat went to see Leslie. Leslie wanted to know what she wanted. Kat said she was there to call a truce. She told Leslie that she accepted that she and Eva destroyed the evidence that linked them to Laura’s accident and that she wouldn’t be able to prove it. Leslie was suspicious of Kat. Their conversation was interrupted when Tomas called Leslie. While Leslie was on the phone, Kat opened the window so she could be able to sneak in. Leslie met with Tomas at Orphey Gene’s. She wanted him to be her fixer. He refused to help her. Leslie tried to convince him to be with Eva. While they were talking, Jacob, Derek, and Kat showed up. When Leslie saw them, she left. Kat said Leslie was probably hiding something in her apartment. Leslie went to Eva’s place and demanded that she give her the evidence. Eva didn’t give her the evidence and said she should be grateful for her help. When Leslie left, Eva checked under her bed to make sure the evidence was still there.

Eva talked to Tomas about what happened with her mother. She told him that she kicked her out and that her father helped her. Tomas tried to get info out of her when he told her that it was good that her mother didn’t involve her with Laura’s accident. Eva said she had insurance to protect herself, and he wanted to know more about it. Kat talked her way into Eva’s hotel suite. She wanted to know what Eva was hiding. Hayley demanded to know what was wrong with Bill. He told her that he would come up with things wrong with him. She wanted him to be serious because she was scared. He assured her that he wasn’t going anywhere. Hayley wanted him to take care of himself. Chelsea and Naomi talked about her situation with women. Naomi wanted her to be happy. Joey and Vanessa talked about having sex on the poker table. Vanessa wasn’t happy when Joey told her that he was inviting her husband to the casino. Doug showed up at the casino. Bill tried to assure Hayley that he was okay. Tomas wondered what the leverage was that Eva had on Leslie. Eva just told him that she was going to be standing on business. They talked about a book that she had. She let him know that it was at her hotel room, and he could go if he wanted to read it. He agreed to go. Kat was searching Eva’s room. Jacob called her and wanted her to stop investigating. Kat found a box in Eva’s closet. Madison walked into Uptown while Chelsea and Naomi were talking. Chelsea called her out for not speaking to her. Bill wanted to make love to Hayley. He kissed her, but he had trouble talking. She called for an ambulance. Vanessa was upset when she found out that Doug was in debt with Joey. Joey told her that he wanted her business.

Tomas and Eva were headed to her room. Vanessa said she built her business, and Joey wasn’t getting anywhere near it. Joey thought that wasn’t true. Doug wanted her to hear Joey out, but she had no intention of laundering money for him. Joey said it was the only way Doug could pay off his debt to him. Vanessa didn’t want to hear anymore about it. Doug said that he would keep her out of it if he could, but he couldn’t do it. Madison acted like she didn’t really know Chelsea at Uptown. Hayley took Bill to the hospital. She let Ashley know what happened to Bill. Eva and Tomas went to her room so Kat had to hide under the bed. She noticed that her box was moved. Tomas tried to make excuses for why the box was moved. She hoped they could talk about it. Derek called Naomi to let her know that Bill was admitted into the hospital. Doug couldn’t take listening to Joey anymore so he walked out the room. Vanessa called Joey out for the way he treated her. She felt like he treated her like a one-night-stand. Tomas and Eva talked about Kat after she tried to kiss him. He let her know that he and Kat talk about a lot of things. Tomas felt like they had something special. He wanted to see what would happen with them. Eva wanted to be friends with him. He was about to leave, and she told him not to mention the insurance she had on her mother. Kat found the helmet and gloves in Eva’s room. She took them out of Eva’s room. Vanessa slapped Joey because he used her. Kat felt satisfied that she had the evidence. Naomi and Chelsea talked to Ashley about their father. Madison was Bill’s doctor. She told him that she was getting stroke protocols. Hayley didn’t like the idea of him having a stroke.

Reliving Barbara’s suicide made Anita convinced not to do the reunion. Vernon thought she wanted to do it deep down inside. He felt like she should do it even if there’s a small part of her that wanted to do it. She told him that she left the group right after Barbara’s suicide. They were supposed to take a break from the group but that’s when Anita decided to go solo. She made her break permanent. Sharon was upset when Tracey told her that Anita didn’t want to do the reunion anymore. Sharon didn’t want to take that decision without confronting Anita. They decided to go to Anita’s house for answers. Laura went to the office and got a surprise. Nicole, Kat, and Mona surprised her with a party. The ladies talked about Eva. Kat felt like Eva worked with Leslie to take Laura’s job from her. Nicole and Laura defended Eva. They didn’t think she was anything like her mother. Kat stressed that she had her own opinion about Eva. She thought her opinion was right. Ted and Eva bonded at Uptown. She told him about her job at the salon and that Samantha was one of her regular customers. Eva did miss working for Nicole. She enjoyed the job more than she thought she would. Ted understood how she felt since she got close to the family in a short amount of time. He took responsibility for his role in his affair. Ted was the one who was married and not Leslie. Eva took responsibility too. She couldn’t blame her mother for everything that went wrong in her life. Eva got a text so she left the table. She had an awkward encounter with Nicole. Nicole and Ted were alone and had an awkward conversation.

Sharon was ready to argue with Anita, but she wasn’t in the mood. She wanted Sharon to take her negativity somewhere else. Vernon decided to give them some time to talk. Tracey wanted the ladies to use their words and not their fists. Anita finally put the women in their place. She called them out for not leaving when Dante fired Barbara, but they didn’t. Anita reminded them how they were on the stage and took their bows as well as their checks. She wasn’t the only one who wanted to be successful. Anita refused to be the only villain. Sharon wanted to tell Anita that she was ready for the reunion, but she was too heated to hear it. Anita announced that the reunion was as dead as Barbara and nothing would work to get them back together. She kicked them out and cried on the couch. Leslie wondered where Eva hid her helmet and gloves when Jacob showed up at her place. He let her know that he had a warrant to search her place. She allowed him to search her place. Leslie flirted with him while he tried to investigate her place. Turning up empty-handed, Jacob left her apartment. He promised that he would get her eventually. After Jacob left, she made a promise to make Jacob and the police department pay for harassing her. Kat met with Jacob after he left Leslie’s place. She thought that Eva had the evidence for Leslie. He wanted her to give it a rest. Leslie went to see Ted at Uptown and interrupted his conversation with Nicole. She ordered him to stop the police from harassing her if he didn’t want any trouble.

Anita to Vernon that she wanted to tell him the truth about the fourth member of the Articulettes. She said she planned on taking the secret to her grave. Anita told him about Barbara and how she brought them together and kept them together. They were sisters forever until she met Dante. She said Dante saw them as diamonds in the rough but felt that Barbara couldn’t be made over like the other women. Vernon said her decision was self-serving, but most people were at her age. He said her role wasn’t unforgivable. Anita said his kind words were why she didn’t tell him sooner. She said she didn’t want to feel better about it and wanted to stew in her misery. Anita blamed herself for what happened to Barbara. She said gave Barbara’s family money, but the money couldn’t replace Barbara. Anita said there wouldn’t be a reunion. Vernon said he understood but felt that it was time to move. He said he was there for her and wouldn’t let her handle this alone.

Sharon and Tracy met at Orphey Gene. She told Tracy that she wanted to revive her career on Anita’s back. Sharon said they would steal the show from Anita. She said they would split the vocals evenly. Tracy reminded her that it should have been four of them. She said they couldn’t come back with lies between them. Anita agreed to tell Anita the truth. While they were talking, Tracy got a call from Vernon saying Anta didn’t want to do the reunion anymore. He said if they saw any value to the group getting back together, they needed to do something. Andre and Dani had sex. They talked about their feelings. When Dani called him her Mr. Right Now, Andre asked if he was more than that. Dani said she would promote him to CEO, but Andre said they were more than that to each other. She ended their conversation when Naomi called and told her Bill was in the hospital. At the hospital, Doug said Bill had a mini stroke which could have been a warning for a stroke. Bill didn’t want to stay at the hospital overnight. Doug gave Hayley instructions on how to handle Bill. When Dani came in the room, Bill was happy to see her. Dani talked Bill into following the doctor’s orders. Naomi was surprised that Dani still had an effect on him. Dani said she wasn’t finished being upset with him. Hayley was jealous that Dani was able to get through to Bill when she couldn’t. Bill let her know that there was nothing going on between him and Dani. Kat went to Jacob to talk about Leslie suing her for defamation of character. He warned her to stop interfering since they weren’t able to prove that the jacket was Leslie’s. Jacob got a warrant to search Leslie’s apartment. Kat gave herself credit for the warrant. She wanted to go with him, but Jacob said it didn’t work like that. Leslie went to the hospital to talk to Shanice. She asked Shanice for the security footage of the night of Laura’s attack, but Shanice refused to show her. Shanice knew Leslie was the one on the footage Andre found. After Leslie finished talking to Shanice, she looked for Andre. She found him at Orphey Gene’s and tricked him into showing her the security footage. Leslie denied being in the footage. Andre took a picture of her and said the software might be able to link her to the video.

Naomi surprised Anita by giving her something from the Articulettes concerts. It didn’t go over as well as she hoped. Anita told her that looking back could make you sad. Naomi wanted to catch up with her during lunch, but Anita had other plans. Anita felt like she earned the sadness that she felt. After Naomi left, Anita took out a letter from her desk. It was a letter from the fourth Articulette. She ripped into Anita for stealing the group from her. Barbara told her that her voice was classless and ghetto despite starting the group. Anita didn’t need to read the letter because she had it memorized. Hayley was tired of Dani accusing her of lying about her pregnancy so she arrived at her house with a pregnancy test. She told Dani that she’s having a  Hamilton regardless of the gender. Dani wasn’t convinced that she was pregnant with Bill’s baby. She demanded that Hayley take another pregnancy test, but she refused to do it. They didn’t agree to a solution to the problem. Kat and Chelsea were celebrating their first shipment being on time at Orphey Gene. Their celebration was cut short when Leslie arrived. Leslie confronted Kat. She threatened to sue Kat for defamation of character. After the announcement, Leslie threatened Kat. She let her know that people underestimated her and warned her that they never saw her coming until it was too late. Leslie warned her to keep her eyes open.

Bill wanted Tomas to spy on the Duprees and tell him about any information that would be useful to him. He didn’t care if it was about Chelsea, Naomi, Dani or Leslie. Tomas wasn’t happy about the assignment he gave him since his relationship with Kat was on shaky ground. He ended up agreeing to take on the assignment. Kat showed up looking for legal advice. Bill allowed him to go to lunch with Kat. He reminded him about the assignment. While they were at lunch, Tomas got information from Kat about the family. He told him that he wouldn’t take on Kat’s case against Leslie with the little evidence that she had. Naomi showed up at the law firm. Bill and Hayley told her about the news. Naomi handled it a little better than Dani. She felt like the baby was insurance to guarantee that Hayley got child support or a trust fund. Hayley thought the baby would bring the family together. Her comment made Naomi upset. Hayley and Naomi stopped arguing when Bill started slurring his words. Bill told them that he was fine, but Hayley and Naomi didn’t believe him. They realized that he lied to them about his hand problems. His words continued to slur. Derek and Ashley arrived at Orphey Gene and saw Leslie there. Ashley ripped into her about what she did. She informed Leslie that the hospital changed protocol after she attacked Laura. She would never be allowed in Laura’s room again. Andre went to see Dani. She wasn’t looking for sex. Dani wanted to talk to him about Hayley’s pregnancy. She talked about couples bonding when they find out that they are having a baby. The conversation made her think about her time with Bill. Andre was ready to leave after hearing about Bill. He felt like she should spend more time focusing on the man in front of her. Andre told her that he was someone who actually cared about her. He informed her that was changing into someone who wanted more than a fling. Andre didn’t want to break up with Dani. She might not be his future, but he wanted to enjoy the present. Dani told him that she wasn’t ready to think about the future, and he wasn’t waiting for her. She felt like they were friends with benefits with hearts that belong to people who don’t want them. Barbara blamed Anita for why she left the world for a better place. Anita cried into her hands and thought about the loss of Barbara.

Sharon told Anita that she wanted to put everything on the table. She told Anita that she was offered solo deals but didn’t take them because she loved being in the group. Sharon said when Anita got offered a deal, she rushed to take it. While Sharon was talking, she brought up that Anita and Dante spread rumors about her having a problem with drugs and alcohol. She asked Anita how much Vernon knew about why the group really broke up. Anita said she told Vernon that the situation was complicated. Sharon said Anita hung her sisters out to dry. What made things worse was she and Tracy couldn’t do anything to defend themselves because Dante made them sign an NDA so they could get their last payment from him. She said they had to give up on the group and go back to their old neighborhood. Anita said Dante controlled the situation to which Sharon said she let Dante control her. Sharon said she didn’t care how much she changed since then. She thought Anita was trying to look like a good person and thought it was time to let everyone know her secret. Before Sharon left, she told Anita that she would never trust her again. At Orphey Gene’s, Kat and Mona ran into Leslie. When Kat pulled out a leather jacket, she asked Leslie if the jacket looked familiar. Leslie said it reminded her of one she had years ago, but she had better things to do with her time. When she left, she ran into Nicole. Nicole accused Leslie of hitting Laura to which Leslie laughed in her face.

Kat let Leslie know she was taking the leather jacket to the police as evidence. Leslie didn’t care if she took the jacket and was on her way to the police herself. Kat went to the police station and showed Jacob the evidence she had. Jacob told her that her fingerprints and DNA were on the jacket and receipts. He told her Leslie got a restraining order against her. The FBI agent said the woman on the footage matched Leslie’s height and the jacket was a match. Martin and Ted met at the country club. He told Ted that he didn’t like what he did to his mother, but he wished he treated him with some respect. Ted appreciated his forgiveness and liked the idea of Nicole talking to him again. He wished they talked about how to stop Leslie. Martin went to see Nicole to talk about her working things out with his father. Nicole said she liked how Ted was respecting her boundaries but that didn’t mean things were good between them. She thought giving in would be a relief, but it wouldn’t be real. Ted went to see Eva. They talked about not trusting Leslie. Ted asked if Eva thought Leslie caused Laura’s accident. Eva said she had her suspicions but chose to believe Leslie didn’t do it. He told her she could turn to him if she wanted to be free of Leslie. She said she appreciated that after everything she did to his family. While they were talking, Eva warned Ted to watch his back around Leslie. After Ted left, Leslie showed up asking Eva about her helmet and gloves.
