THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!
Is it just me or have things calm down around here? Well, with all that crypt stuff finally being settled, everyone can finally take a breath. We’re also down a man. Hmm? With your mom being back in Bensonhurst. Oh, right. Do you think that was a good call? My mom going back? I love her, but we definitely needed some space. Ah, there you two are. I’ve been looking all over for you. For us? Why? Ooh, I got a surprise for you. Come on in. Ta da! [ Laughs ] Isn’t that the best? Welcome home, Lo. Lulu Spencer in my stables. Oh, don’t you mean the Quartermaines’ stables? Ah. Potato, potahto. To what do I owe the pleasure? You might want to sit down for this. I don’t think I do. I’m here to apologize. What? You clean out my lollipop stash? [ Chuckles ] No. I think there might be a few left. Okay. So, what did you do? I played you, Cody, and I thought I should come clean about it before you figured it out. Okay. I lied to you when I said I knew about Dante and Brook Lynn. I didn’t know that they’d ever been a thing until you confirmed it for me. Dante: Is that right? Uh, care to explain? [ Whistles poorly ] Good morning. What’s wrong? What do you mean, what’s wrong? Well, you’re attempting to whistle. [ Sighs ] Would you rather I sing? God, no. No. But you’re… dare I say, perky. And usually I arrive after you. I actually went to the gym. I worked out. It actually does make your day go by better. Who are you? Is this you in a good mood? Did Rick die? Diane! Well, it’s a fair question. No, as far as I know, he’s still alive. Well, then what has gotten into you? I got my girls back. [ Tapping on door ] Kristina, hi. Hey. How are you feeling? Pretty good, actually. I’m just bored out of my mind. You mind if I come in? No. Come in, come in, please. These are for you. I’ll add these to the others you’re getting. Definitely feel loved. Thank you so much. This is really sweet of you. Yeah. I’m just so sorry this happened for you and for Rick. It’s It’s awful. Yeah. Not Not my best car ride ever. But I’m glad we’re both okay. Thank God. It’s really nice of you to come check on me. Yeah. Of course. You were really there for me when I lost my baby. And you had my back when Ava tried to take Avery. And, you know, you’re always there for everyone else. So I I just wanted to do the same for you. [ Knock on door ] Lucky: Hello. I just can’t get over it. How rare for an opportunity like this to fall into our laps. It didn’t “fall into” our laps, Ava. My brakes were cut, and I almost was murdered. As was Elizabeth. Kristina is certifiable. Cutting the brakes on my car what she thought was my car in the hopes that I’d go careening to my death. Okay, okay, more more I think about this, we go to the police. What does that really get us? A lunatic off the street? Well, couldn’t we aim higher? [ Sighs ] Bigger? Couldn’t we use this information to our advantage? Okay. As tempting as that sounds, blackmailing Sonny will get us nowhere, except maybe an early grave. Oh, Ric, I’m not planning on blackmailing Sonny. I have something far better in mind. Lois, I didn’t expect you back so soon. Soon? Seems like she was going a million years. Well, I would’ve given you all a heads up, but Olivia wanted it to be a surprise, so… Surprise! Mission accomplished. [ Clears throat ] Can I get a hug? Yeah. Of course. Welcome home, Ma. Shoot. You know what? I I got, um, a Deception call that I I’ve got to get on. We’ll catch up later, okay? You know what? I’m gonna go help her with that. With a Deception call? Yeah, those video calls can be tricky. You got to enable the audio and the the camera and put it in gallery view. I mean, it’s it’s a whole thing. Yeah. I totally get it. I had a call like that once, and the camera did this whole jiggly thing. It wasn’t great, so, yeah. Just one more thing I need to check. It’s good to have you home, Lois. What? Don’t give me “what.” I know you and Brook Lynn had a fight, but now you can’t be in the same room together? What the hell is going on? Why are you dredging up ancient history and telling Lulu? I I didn’t, no. I Well, it kind of sounds like you did. This isn’t Cody’s fault. I tricked him into telling me. What? Why? I…had a hunch you weren’t being entirely open about your history with Brook Lynn. And my curiosity got the best of me, and I figured that Cody would be the one that would know the truth. Huh. Yeah, I’m sure he really had to drag it out of him. I thought she already knew, man. I would never have done that. You know how good I am at getting information when I want to. Again, I am sorry for misleading you. Apology not even close to accepted. You two need to figure out whatever weird thing you’re doing. I gotta feed the horses. [ Sighs ] What are you doing, Lulu? Why dig up old dirt on me and Brook Lynn? Why lie to me for years about Brook Lynn? Molly went to check on Ric to see if he was okay after the car crash. That makes sense. Kristina was there, too. At the hospital? That makes less sense because Kristina can’t stand the sight of Ric, and rightly so. Kristina wasn’t there for Ric. She was there for Molly. She was finally able to put aside all of that animosity that she had for the first time since they lost the baby. The two girls connected. And Molly was receptive to all this? Yes. They both put their weapons down and came together in a way that they hadn’t for I don’t even know how long. Oh, honey, I know this means everything to you. It does. And, you know, I didn’t really realize how much until it happened. How’s the patient? Better by the minute, thanks to my well wishers. Good to see you, Kristina. Everything good? Yeah. Yeah. Great. Lucky. Elizabeth. Are you sneaking contraband into the hospital? Yes. But don’t tell the head nurse. By any chance, is it a baked good from her youngest son? Man, I can’t get anything past you. Yes, courtesy of Aiden. Oh, I told him not to, but I’m so glad he did. You need to have one of these. They’re so good. Oh, you know what? I am still totally full from breakfast, and I actually should get going, so, um… Thank you for coming to see me and my beautiful flowers. Of course. Actually, Kristina, I need to speak to you. It’s a Charlie’s thing. Okay, sure. Yeah. I’ll be right back. Okay. Alexis is the one who’s going to pay. [ Monitor beeping ] [ Sighs ] I see. So you’re going to use Kristina’s crimes… Attempted murder. …to blackmail Alexis to get her to reopen the Cassadine coffers. It’s just inspired, isn’t it? Yeah. Except Kristina goes free. So? So?! I almost died! Elizabeth broke her leg! She She had to have surgery on it. She could have been paralyzed! Alright, I’ve seen your precious Elizabeth, and she’s just fine. And she’s not the delicate flower you and Nikolas make her out to be, by the way. The woman can handle herself. Look, Elizabeth deserves to know the truth about the accident. She should have her day in court. I didn’t realize you were so driven by justice. I thought a nice, fat payday would keep you warmer at night than that. Yeah, most times it would. Okay, well, I have a question for you. How will Molly feel if you send her only remaining sister to prison? So how’s that Deception call going? Sorry for bailing. Just feel like I got ambushed up there, and, I don’t know, my body just went into fight or flight mode, and I guess I chose flight. I don’t think ambush was your mother’s intention. Then what was? She missed you, and she wanted to see you. The sneak attack was Olivia’s idea. You’re being very generous. Okay? I think my mom didn’t want to give me the heads up because she was afraid that I’d tell her to stay in Bensonhurst. Would you have? I don’t know, but just seeing her has got me all fired up again. Fired up because Lois told Gloria about your baby without your permission? Or knowledge. Or because Lois is a walking reminder about the secret that you and Dante have a son to begin with? I’m not gonna rehash my childhood with you, Lulu. What happened with me and Brook Lynn, we were teenagers, and it was nothing. Then why lie about it? And if memory serves and I know that mine might be a little bit rusty Brook Lynn was very much an adult when she came to Port Charles to break us up. Tried to break us up. It didn’t work. So that makes it okay? No, Lulu, it makes it this thing that happened so long ago, I can’t believe we’re still talking about it. So much has happened since then. Like, why are you so laser focused on Brook Lynn right now? Because I don’t enjoy being lied to or gaslit. Who’s gaslighting you? You. My parents taught me to trust my gut. And it always told me that there was something more going on between you and Brook Lynn than you were letting on. But when I ask you about it, you made me feel like I’m crazy, like it’s outside the realm of possibility. And now we find out that that isn’t true. And it makes me think, after everything we’ve been through… What? It makes me wonder if you’re someone I can trust. Kristina has struggled so much with this, and I know that Molly has, too. Yeah, but Molly’s always been somehow better at it. I’m not going to lie. She has been better at it because she’s emotionally stronger. She just is. She’s able to put one foot in front of the other and face whatever comes at her head on. Well, Kristina has always been a little, mm, fragile than volatile, right? You think? A little? [ Laughs ] Well, listen, it’s okay, though, because Kristina is a very passionate young woman who, when she does get knocked down, yes, she takes a little longer to get up, but she always gets up, Alexis. You know, I think Kristina saw Molly as the enemy because of the way she grieves. Molly grieved differently. She did. She has a totally different process. And Kristina interpreted that as her not having big enough feelings and that Molly’s feelings weren’t right. And now? And now I think she realizes that. And she realizes that she can’t heal without her sister. That’s a beautiful realization. It’s a relief. I think they’re each other’s missing piece. Mm. And they need each other to lean on. They do, to heal after everything we’ve all had to go through. Uh huh. This has been a grueling, torturous, God awful storm, honey, but you have weathered it, and there are fairer days ahead. You know what? I’m really starting to believe that. Mm hmm. I am. Not only does Molly respect and understand the law, she has more integrity in her pinky than I do in my entire body. I swear, sometimes I don’t even know where she gets it. Certainly not from her mother. [ Sighs ] God knows I have given Alexis a lot of grief over this, but I think it was actually beneficial that Molly wasn’t the central focus of Alexis’s parenting. If Sonny or Alexis had ever made Kristina actually pay for any of her mistakes, she probably wouldn’t be such a train wreck. Yes, exactly. And because Kristina had to have more and more attention all the time, Molly was forced to be independent. I’m telling you, my daughter is the definition of responsible. While her sister is decidedly not. That’s exactly my point. You do realize that by covering this up and blackmailing Alexis, you’re allowing said train wreck to escape all culpability. Are you prepared to risk that? She’s a loose cannon, Ava. It’s not going to take much for Kristina to fly off the handle and try to kill you…again. Okay. What What were you doing in Elizabeth’s room? You know what I was doing in Elizabeth’s room. I was I was visiting her. I brought her flowers. Is that all? You mean, like, did I bring her chocolates, too? I was checking on her. I wanted to see that she was okay for myself. And then what? What do you mean then what? Were you thinking about confessing? [ Sighs ] Maybe. I don’t know. Maybe. Maybe? Maybe. Okay? I feel terrible, Lucky. Yeah, of course you do. And you should. Elizabeth almost died because of me. And I almost killed my sister’s father. I’m sorry, Lucky, but that’s that’s I don’t know if I can live with that. This is about something from a long time ago. You know, I I… I made some decisions where Brook Lynn is concerned, and I thought they were in her best interest. And I guess she did not agree with this decision? She had every right not to, you know? This is It’s personal for her, honey. I’m sorry. I can’t get into it. Understood. Understood. But something’s got to give. You know? I mean, I just cannot handle this kind of distance with my daughter. Trust me, Chase, I don’t need my mom to remind me that I’ve got a son out there. It’s not exactly something I’d forget. I didn’t mean to hit a nerve. [ Sighs ] Lately, I just feel like one big nerve. And whenever I see Dante or my dad or Olivia or Uncle Sonny, or basically anybody in our inner circle, it hits me right in the face. How many people would have loved my child? They don’t even know he exists. That’s a lot to carry. [ Sighs ] It was a lot easier when I was younger. I was a kid. I had no business raising a child. But now? You’re not a kid anymore. Adulting stinks. In case nobody’s told you. Hey, look at me. If this is a secret that you genuinely want to keep, I will support you. And I’ll go to my grave without ever telling a soul. I know you will. But if you don’t want the truth to come out, you got to do a way better job of hiding it. You don’t feel like you can trust me because of some camp romance I didn’t tell you about? You lied, Dante. I omitted a detail that I didn’t think mattered. Okay, a lie by omission. Whatever. You still weren’t honest. Okay. You win. Okay. Every nook and cranny about my life that has happened to me, you’re entitled to know about, whether or not you were a part of it then or not. Okay? My bad. No, Brook Lynn wasn’t something you shoved in some nook or some cranny and forgot about. But the camp thing was actually. But fine. I should have told you about it. I should have told you what happened, even though we were teenagers, even though it amounted to exactly nothing. Okay? So here you go. Dante. No, no no, no. You want to know everything? This is everything. Okay? For one summer, Brook Lynn and I were training to be camp counselors, okay? Together. And we hooked up, and that’s it. We didn’t even stay together after camp. I mean, it was over before it even started. And then, you know, we went on and had lives and made lives with other people. And you happened, and Sam happened, and Brook Lynn and Chase got married. Do you see what I’m trying to say to you? Yes, but No, that’s it. There is no “but.” Nothing that went down that summer mattered. But what if it did? It’s a good thing that you feel guilty. No, it means you’re not some kind of sociopath who goes around hurting people without caring. But here’s the thing, Kristina. You can’t take that guilt and put it on Elizabeth. I’m not. Yes, you are. And not only is it not fair to her, it’s going to end up getting you caught! So you need to decide is that what you want? I don’t know! I I… What I want is I I… I want to not put Elizabeth in any more harm than I already have. Okay. Good. But if you decide that you can’t live with this, your next stop needs to be your mom’s office and not Elizabeth’s hospital room. [ Sighs ] So j Go to your mom. Work on a confession with her that’ll get you a plea deal, one that doesn’t send you to prison for the rest of your life. Deanna: You rang? I did. What’s up? Can you help me into this wheelchair? There’s someone I need to visit. There’s risk in everything, Ric. Not like this, Ava! You’re not taking your chances crossing the street. Kristina tried to kill you! And she could make another attempt. I can handle Kristina. [ Scoffs ] How? You didn’t see this one coming. Now I’m on guard. I didn’t want it to come to this. After the accident last summer, I did my very best to steer clear of Kristina. I wanted us both to have a peaceful path forward, but she wouldn’t have it. Not sending her to prison is the very last grace I will extend to her. Oh. How generous. Especially when you’re extorting millions from her mother. Well, that’s just business, Ric. I may despise Alexis, but I’m willing to work with her on a mutually beneficial transaction. Just one? Mnh. Multiple transactions. Like a steady I.V. drip. You get some rest, okay? I’ll let you know how it goes. I’ll be right here. Alright. Enough about my family. Talk to me about this new prospect you would like me to consider. Thank you. Well [ Knock on door ] Oh. Look at that. Right on time. Marco. I am so glad you could stop by. My pleasure. Diane: May I introduce you to my law partner, Alexis Davis? Alexis, meet Marco Rios. Very nice to meet you. You, as well. [ Diane giggles ] Have a seat. [ Cellphone dings ] [ Laughs ] Wouldn’t you know it? I have been called into judge’s chambers. That’s fine. That will give the two of you a chance to get to know each other better. Marco. You should know… Alexis is the good cop. [ Giggles ] [ Door closes ] On most days. You want me to talk to Brook Lynn? [ Sighs ] What good would that do? Why You know, I know and love you both. I’m removed enough to be a little bit objective. You know, maybe maybe I could help the two of you sort this thing out. I think it might just make things worse. How could it be any worse? [ Chuckles ] I mean, you know, I know I live with the Quartermaines, but I do still have the ability to be tactful. I know you do. I just think that this is something that Brook Lynn and I need to figure out ourselves. Too many cooks in the kitchen? Maybe. I guess you’re right. Direct communication is always gonna be the best. I just I I can’t stand to see you hurting. Thank you. Just know… if you need help with Brook Lynn or anything else… I’m here for you, always. I know you are. Look. I’m not trying to make you paranoid. Too late. But you’re lucky that it was me and Olivia at the house. Could you imagine if Tracy or Dante saw that reunion? Granny definitely would’ve been asking questions. She already has. And Dante would’ve been more discreet. But come on. He’s a cop. Okay. So then what do I do? Just avoid Ma altogether so that we’re not tense around each other? That’ll only make it more obvious. I think you need to come together, and you need to fix it. I don’t know how, Chase. I am still so angry! I know. But you also love your mom. I do. She’s my ride or die. It’s probably why it hurts so much. Look, I swear I’m not trying to guilt you, but I would give anything to have one more day with my dad. Even an hour or or a minute. And the last thing I’d want to do is spend it fighting. I know you wouldn’t. But you and Gregory… Were just as close as you and your mom. It’s true. So I’m thinking if you really want to keep this secret, you got to figure out a way to get over the hurt… and forgive her. I kind of feel like maybe you’re grabbing on to this thing with Brook Lynn because of… all the changes that have happened in your life. Thank you… Dr. Falconeri. I will keep your diagnosis in mind. Alright, look, I’m not actually trying to psychoanalyze you. Oh, good, because I have Kevin for that. Yeah, I just don’t think this thing with Brook Lynn is good for you, and it’s not rooted in anything real. How would you feel if I was freaking out about some guy you had a crush on in your teens? Brook Lynn is not “some guy.” Okay. No, she’s not, but y you’re making her out to be more than she is. We were two kids with a crush. Full stop. And when she came to Port Charles… …did you have any lingering feelings for her? When Brook Lynn came to Port Charles, the only woman in my heart, the only woman who’s ever truly had my heart… was you. Alexis: I’m sure by now you’ve gathered that Diane’s and my goal is to strike a healthy balance between rainmakers and justice seekers. I tend to be more open to pro bono work, and Diane gravitates toward banking billable hours. Sounds like you make a good team. I think we do. Most of our income comes from criminal law retainers, and I noticed that that was a specialty of yours at some point. At one point, yes. I tend to focus on more entrepreneurially legitimate clients now. Okay, so how would you feel about representing a client who has been alleged to engage in an illegal enterprise? That depends. How so? If I’m being made explicitly aware of the alleged illegal enterprise. So you’re trying to scare me now? Scare you? No. No. I’m just trying to be real with you. I mean, what reason do I have to coddle you? Don’t flatter yourself. I don’t need you to coddle me, okay? Here’s the reality for me in all of this, okay? I am putting myself on the line, lying to the woman I love, which I hate, but I will… because I believe that you’re a good person who made a mistake. And I myself have made a few. Not sure you’ve been exactly here before. Yeah. Well, close enough. So… I will help you cover this up, but this only works if you commit to it and you get help. Can you do that? Hey. You up for a visitor? If it’s you? Always. Thank you, Deanna. You’re welcome. Can you just give us a few minutes? Of course. Thanks. [ Door closes ] I was so relieved that you’re alright. When I woke up and they told me that you were hurt, I… Ric. [ Chuckles ] I’m fine. [ Sighs ] Broken leg is not exactly fine, Elizabeth. [ Sighs ] And the fact that I was driving… If anything had happened… if I’d have lost you… [ Sighs ] …I would have never forgiven myself. Just the way you like it. Livvy, you don’t need to wait on me. I know my way around here. It’s a cup of tea. It’s not a luau pig with an apple in its mouth. [ Laughs ] Thank you. Yeah. Oh, Honey. Honey, it’s gonna be okay. You’re gonna work this out with Brook Lynn. Hey. Huh? You are such a good friend to me, Liv. I don’t know what I would do without you. Geez Louise. I I gotta bring you tea more often, huh? No, no, no, I mean it. What we have… it’s special. No. What we have… is ancient. Can you believe… We have known each other since before pre K! Since you were trying to put my hair in pigtails! Oh, okay. Now, pigtails were all the rage back then. You would have looked so cute in them. [ Laughs ] Just so you know Just ’cause I don’t let you do my hair… I’ve always got your back. Because what we got… it’s not just friends. Oh, it’s family. Thank you. And thank you for saying that. No, I say it because I mean it. And And whatever it is you’re going through, when you’re ready to open up about it, honey, you know I am a vault. We can tell each other anything. Capiche? Capiche. Okay. Good. I’m gonna go check on Monica. I love you. Love you, too. Yeah, we could tell each other anything… except this. I do love my mom. Very much. And I want to just snap my fingers and be over this. But it’s hard. She and my grandma lied to me for decades. And it hurts. You know, I thought my ma and I told each other everything, and she let me think that we did… which makes this the ultimate betrayal. [ Sighs ] Which makes me the biggest hypocrite on the planet. Why do you say that? Because here I am, moaning and groaning about my mom lying to my face and keeping a secret for all these years when I’m doing the exact same thing to Dante and my dad and about a million other people! Alright. I see why you say that, but it’s not the same thing. I’m just so glad I don’t have to keep anything from you. I can be honest. You can trust me with anything. And if this secret ever gets too big or too heavy or too anything… I will be right by your side when you come clean to Dante or anybody else. I love you. If only you knew how much. You’re right. I, uh I should have told you the truth about what happened with me ans Brook Lynn. Uh, would’ve stopped this thing from blowing up like this. Nice work. [ Sighs ] My gut. It was right again. Oh. Wow. Okay. Well, uh… I think also by not telling you what happened, I, uh, gave you another reason to distrust Brook Lynn. [ Scoffs] Yeah. Like I needed another reason. I’m sorry for not being honest with you. Thank you. And I’m grateful that you know me well enough that you can call me out on stuff. Are you grateful, though? Because it kind of feels like it annoys you. Yeah. No. Let’s just say the benefits outweigh the costs. Fair enough. I, uh… I want us to be able to trust each other. It’s important for Rocco. So, uh, no more secrets between us. Okay? Good. Okay. So we’re good? We’re good. I gotta find my mom. Uh, Leo wants me to get fake police badges for some school project he’s doing. What, you can’t at least hook him up with a real badge? What’s the point of having a cop for a brother? Yeah, I know, right? It’s crazy. You know, you ask your police captain for 25 police badges, you think it’d go over differently. Have fun with the project. Lulu. What are you trying to pull? Ric: They said that you had to have surgery on your leg, and it looks like you hit your head. Did they check your spine? [ Chuckles ] I’ve gotten the best care. Yes, I I had surgery, but it went well and I’m fine. How long is your recovery? Eh. Six to eight weeks. [ Groans ] But And then there will be some rehab. And I’ll be walking these halls in no time. You have the best attitude. Mm. You just caught me in a good moment. I’m really glad we’re both okay. I was very worried about you. We’re awfully lucky, Ric. Yeah, we really are. Yeah. So, do you remember what happened? Alexis: In this case, said client would mask their alleged illegal activities behind a thin veil of hypotheticals. Thereby allowing me and my firm legal deniability. Yes. Then, in that case, as long as said client doesn’t put me or my firm in legal jeopardy… I believe they’re entitled to a defense. That being said, if the client were to cross a line that went against a deeply held belief of mine, I would have no problem recusing myself for the benefit of us both. All money isn’t good money. Sometimes it’s best to just say no. Thank you, Mr. Rios. Please. Call me Marco. I really enjoyed talking to you. I will confer with Diane, and I think it’s safe to say that a job offer will be forthcoming. I look forward to receiving it. Thank you for meeting with me. It was a pleasure. Same. [ Sighs and clears throat ] [ Knock on door ] Come in! Hello, Alexis. [ Groans ] [ Door closes ] We have a little business to attend to. I said I was sorry. And I refuse to accept. You sought me out and strongly implied that Brook Lynn had told you already that she came clean about her and Dante. And then whoops! Oh, no. No. Never mind. She didn’t. It never happened. Look, I can explain everything! No, you can’t. No, you can’t, Lulu. And even if you tried, why would I listen to you? You’re spinning a lot of stories to a lot of different people, and I know a con when I see one. So…last chance. What’s really going on with you? Lois! Hey. Oh. My mom said you were coming back. She did, did she? Yeah. I think she was going stir crazy here without you. Oh, no. She was just missing the extra hands, you know? There’s There’s a lot going on with all the kids running around here. There’s a lot of people in this house. [ Laughs ] Yeah, yeah. But she loves it, you know? Being around that family is just It’s a It’s a gift. Brook Lynn: Ma, I think we need to talk Dante. Hey. Brook Lynn: Hi. What do you remember? [ Sighs ] Not much. I remember getting into your car and buckling my seatbelt. We were talking about helping Portia, and then the car swerved. That’s it. What about you? Uh, I remember, um… I was trying to avoid traffic, so that’s why I took Route 42 and… We were, um… chugging along pretty good there, and… Then I lost control of the car. Must’ve hit some black ice or something. Kristina: I can’t confess. And it’s not about me, Lucky. It’s not. It’s It’s my my parents, okay? They’ve both been T They’re just going through too much. My father with his health issues. And my mom, she’s she’s gone through enough. And I can’t add “Kristina goes to prison” to that list. I just can’t. Okay. But what do I do if someone finds out? [ Sighs ] I’ve already looked into it. There’s currently no police investigation. They’re They’re treating it as an accident. But with the car, I mean, can they tell? No, I went to the impound lot, and the car’s already been through the compactor. So that’s it then. That’s it. As long as we both keep our mouths shut… it’s over. Alexis: Doesn’t it get exhausting showing up in places where you’re not wanted? You know, I don’t give that much thought. Ava, please. Go away. I think that you’re gonna change your tune once you hear what I have to say. I doubt it. You can always make time to discuss Kristina’s future. Can’t you, Alexis?

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!
We need to talk. You know, in the future, could you just make an appointment when you want to see me? Because I don’t like unexpected visitors. Well, that’s not very hospitable of you, Devane. You asked me to ensure Valentin’s safety at Steinmauer and that’s how you repay me? When I have information, no less. What happened to Valentin? Nothing. I’m a man of my word. He’s fine. Thank God. Now Valentin’s not the one in trouble. You are. [ Sighs ] Okay, listen, let’s just cut to the chase, all right? What and who do you want to perform with? I mean, do you want to perform with this very handsome fellow here or do you want to go ahead and do another duet with Josslyn? Oh, my God, Josslyn! Oh, I did not know you were coming home. I’m so happy to see you. Me too, I missed you. Oh, I missed you so much. [ Chuckles ] Hi. Welcome home. Oh, sit, sit, sit. Come on. I want to hear all about Easter Island. Ah, you will, but we’re going to talk about how you almost died first. Thank you for checking on me. Especially since you’re off the clock and dressed in an outfit that says, “I’m sophisticated, yet still approachable.” What’s the occasion? That guy I met in Miami is actually in town, and we had a drink. You had a real date? Sort of. Oh, I can tell it was a real date. And I think it went well? I
How How can you tell? That look on your face when you said “that guy.” I know a good post
date look when I see one. Because you’ve been having that same look too lately? Maybe. [ Chuckles ] [ Chuckles ] [ Knock on door ] Lucas. Hi. Uh, one of the nurses told me you were in here. Oh, I was checking on Elizabeth. Do you need me for something? No, no, actually, I wanted to talk to Elizabeth. About what? About the accident you and Ric were in. I’m so glad that you and Elizabeth are going to be okay. It’s a miracle that ambulance got there as quickly as it did. Dad? Huh? Hi. You zoned out on us there. Do you want me to get a doctor? No, no. I’m okay. I
I just remembered something about the accident. I never meant to hurt Elizabeth. Okay? It was a terrible accident. It doesn’t matter what you meant to do. Elizabeth almost died because of you. It was Ava’s fault, okay? She
She pushed me too far, and
Stop blaming Ava! For God’s sake, you did this! You! And you need to take responsibility for it. I am trying to. No, no. You’re not. The first thing you asked is is if I told anyone. You haven’t even apologized for almost killing two people. You haven’t even asked how she’s doing. Okay, of course I care how she’s doing. Of course I do. Lucky. I
I am so glad that Elizabeth is okay. And Ric, both of them. I
I just Look, my mind’s all over the place, okay? I
I’m sorry. You know, I don’t know if you are, but I am. You went too far this time, Kristina, and you need to pay for it. Elizabeth and Ric, they have to know what you did. I appreciate the offer, but I have to pass. [ Sighs ] Okay, listen, you do not have to nail down who you want to perform with right now. You just have to say yes. I’m going to mark you down. Lucy, I
I just I don’t know if I can perform this year. Come on. You have to. You, Miss Robinson, you’re always a huge hit. Thank you. But a lot has changed since the last Nurses’ Ball. Jack and I were in his suite at the Metro Court and we ordered a bottle of champagne. Jack was in the bathroom when the champagne arrived. You know how much I love champagne, so I had a glass while I was waiting for him. I started to feel sick. Jack realized what was going on, so he rushed me to the hospital. Look, he feels terrible about it, okay? You were in his hotel room… drinking champagne. Jason: I’m going to take off, leave you two to talk. No, no, no, no, no, you can’t leave. She can’t lie to me if you’re here. Josslyn. Mom. Hotels and champagne? Are you and Brennan sleeping together? Brennan: Oh, come on. Aren’t you the least bit curious? Not really. But if he’ll get you to leave faster, then, um, I’ll bite, yeah. We just got a call from ADA Turner. She wants every single file we have on you. Really? What did you send her? Every single file we have on you. But you know how the WSB operates. Between what’s confidential and what’s redacted, basically, all we sent her was your birthday and your shoe size. Thank you for letting me know. Yeah, wow. Uh, sorry I snapped earlier. I’m just dealing with something personal, and it’s really kind of putting me on edge a bit. Oh. Do tell. Yeah, I don’t think so. Is there anything else? Well, I didn’t come to warn you about what we sent to ADA Turner. The fact that she’s asking about you at all is what’s disturbing. What do you remember, Dad? Uh, I’m not sure. It doesn’t make any sense. Okay, well, that’s normal. Doctor said your memory of the crash might be hazy. I mean, I remember I lost control of the car and we’re swerving all over the road. You know, you might have hit a patch of black ice. It’s crazy, but that stuff’s still around this time of year. You know, you and Elizabeth are okay, that’s the important part. [ Cellphone rings ] Sorry. It’s my office. I told them not to bother me. The law never sleeps. Go ahead, honey, it’s all right. See what they need. I’m not going anywhere. Not yet. So we finally come to a truce, and you immediately get in a car accident. What’s the matter? You’d rather die than be on good terms with me? Not sure how much I can tell you about the accident. That night is still a little fuzzy for me. Well, maybe if I tell you what I know, it’ll jog your memory. Yeah, sure, we can try. Ric was at my apartment that night. He spends a lot of time there. You probably know that he and I aren’t just attorney and client anymore. We’ve actually gotten quite close. I’m aware. Go on. Well, you dropped by to bring Ric some paperwork he needed. Right. And my kid had the car, so Ric offered to drive me home. After that, all I remember is the car swerving. I see. It was a freak accident. No one else was involved. Why are you asking me all these questions? Please don’t tell anyone, Lucky, okay? Just listen to me for a second. Listen to you? Nothing you say is going to make what you did okay. I know, okay? I do. I just
I wasn’t thinking straight. And the second that I came to my senses, I tried to stop it. Yeah, well, not fast enough. You know, you were the one who told me to leave the scene and not tell anyone. That was before I knew you almost killed the mother of my child and the love of my life! I never meant to! Look, I
I can’t just look the other way on this, Kristina, do you understand that? I can’t! You need to turn yourself in. Or I will. Well, I have gone up against a few dangerous criminals in my time. I think I can handle an assistant district attorney. I’m sure you can, but the fact is, if ADA Turner wants to oust you as commissioner, it wouldn’t be that hard to do it. Especially considering the company you keep. What does that mean? Just an observation. But if I were you, I would nip ADA Turner in the bud. And soon. Appreciate your concern. Why do you care, actually? Because I don’t want to deal with another police commissioner. I mean, you’re a pain in the ass, but you’re a pain I’m familiar with. Whether Jack and I slept together is none of your business. Mm. That’s a yes. Look. I’m sorry, okay? It’s just we’ve been down this road with Sonny. If you’re going to be intimate with dangerous men, I would like to know. It’s no secret that Jack and I have gotten closer. Oh, I knew I should have come back the second I found out you were poisoned. No, you should not have. And I’m glad you didn’t. You needed this trip. You’ve been through a lot. Now, can we please talk about Easter Island, please? Fine, fine. We’ll drop it. For now. Uh, my trip was amazing. This is where we stayed. Oh! That’s Rano Raraku. Oh, wow. These pictures are great. Mm
hmm. Look at that. Mm hmm. Okay, why aren’t you in any of these pictures? Um, because this was for school. It’s not a photo for the ‘gram. Did you hike up to the crater? You’ve been there? Yeah. I’m sure we went to a lot of the same places. Let me see those pictures. Look. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to interrogate you. It’s just I haven’t been able to talk to Ric yet, and I’m just I’m absolutely confounded as to how this could have happened. And we both know that Ric is a very good driver. Well, I really wish I could help you, but honestly, the only thing out of the ordinary was we took Route 42 to miss the traffic, and maybe it was icier because it’s less traveled. Well, it’s just such a relief that you made it out of that accident with nothing more than a broken leg. I’m glad we’re both okay. Of course. Well, thank you for your time. Feel better soon. I’ll call you. What was that about? Isn’t it obvious? Just hear me out, okay? And if you still want to turn me in afterwards, you can. But just hear me out for just
just a second, please. Go ahead. Okay. Ava, um, found out some really personal information about my dad. Some personal information that no one can know about. And she was threatening to blackmail my dad with it. She was going to use it to try to get full custody over Avery. She was going to go public with it. Which would make him look weak and jeopardize your whole family. Yes, exactly. Okay. She was going to let my dad die. And on top of that, she was
she was throwing Michael and Adela in my face, and I just, I
I lost it, and I snapped. Okay? I’m human. What exactly did you do? I was at, um, Ava’s apartment, and I
I left and I I went down to her garage and I saw her car was in her spot, and there were these wire cutters that, I don’t know, someone must have left behind or something. And before I knew it, I was cutting the wires to her car, or I thought it was her car. It must have been, I guess, Ric’s car in her spot. That’s
That’s still attempted murder. I know. Okay? And I wasn’t in my right mind, clearly, because the second that I
I realized it, I I raced over to her apartment. You saw me, Lucky. I know now that just because you survive an accident, it doesn’t mean that it
it can’t absolutely destroy your life. And I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. Not even on Ava. You believe me, right? You know what? Your excitement about The Nurses’ Ball has got me excited now. And I don’t know what type of performance I’ll give, but
but I’ll do it, okay, I’m in. Okay. Thank you. Thank you so much. You know a person with your star power, what an addition it’ll be to our lineup this year. And, you know, the sports fans’ niche is a tough nut to crack, but we don’t have to worry about that this year. We’ve got you. You are our very own Josh Allen. Okay, not quite, but I appreciate the compliment. You’re welcome. Okay. I’ll go. I’m going to go. I will stop bugging you for now. But listen, you know I’m serious that, um, if you change your mind and you want to perform, you will, of course, always have a spot. Thank you. Yeah, I appreciate that. And you? You, I’ll be in touch with real soon. Okay. Ta! Okay. Ta
ta! I did not take you as the type of guy that would perform at The Nurses’ Ball. I’m not. I’m honestly kind of too terrified. Then why did you decide to do it and change your mind? Well, isn’t it obvious? Because of you. I didn’t know that you’ve been to Easter Island. When did you go? It was during my time away from Port Charles. Oh. What did you think about Ranu Kau? I loved it. It was one of my favorite hikes. Yeah. Mine too. [ Knock on door ] Excuse me. Hi. Come in, come in. Oh, hope you don’t mind I just drop by like this. Not even a little bit. Really, Mom? This guy almost gets you killed and you’re still seeing him? Thank you for coming. I’m assuming this is about Emma Scorpio
Drake? No. It’s about me. Why do you ask the WSB for my files? You know, if you have a problem with me, I would prefer that you just dealt directly with me rather than involve my granddaughter. Fine. I’m gathering evidence against you. Yeah. That much is clear. I’d like to know why. Isn’t it obvious? I’m tired of you letting your friends like Jason Morgan get away with murder. Everything you’ve been through and everything that Ava did, I would probably go a little crazy myself, but that doesn’t excuse what you did. I know. I mean, you can’t just walk away from this, Kristina. It doesn’t work that way. But maybe
maybe there is a way for you to be held accountable without suffering all the legal consequences. Like what? What are you thinking? Talk to your mom. You know, maybe
maybe if if you admit what you did, she can cut you a plea deal that’ll keep you out of prison. No. No, I cannot talk to my mom. She’s always got your back. No. Come on. No! Because I can’t take the chance that she she could tell Molly. They can never know about this. That was Ava’s not
so subtle way of staking claim on Ric. You’re not jealous, are you? [ Scoffs ] Please. I mean, he does have a really good side, but he also has a very bad side. It’s just too many sides for me. Yeah, I get that. But if you were to fully embrace his good side, I mean, maybe, just maybe, there might be a world where I change my mind about him. Well, he and Ava both seem very comfortable living in that gray area. Yes they do. I’m no different from Ric. What are you talking about? Maybe you hit your head harder than you thought in that accident. I used him and his feelings for me to find out more about what was going on with Portia and Brad. And he was definitely putting it together when we crashed. I just came from Elizabeth’s room. She was no help to me at all. But now I see that you are of sound body and relatively sound mind. I can talk to you directly. Well? I went to see your car at the impound lot, and the mechanic there told me that someone cut your brake lines. This was no accident, Ric. Somebody tried to kill you. What does Mr. Morgan have to do with any of this? Cyrus Renault went missing after Morgan publicly threatened his life. Morgan’s hair was found in Renault’s cabin. You arrested Morgan, and then nothing came of it. Well, there was no body. Oh. And there was no other evidence of any kind to support the conclusion that a crime had been committed. So therefore, we had to let him go. It’s not just Morgan. There’s Sonny Corinthos. Duke Lavery, Valentin Cassadine. Commissioner, you have a habit of keeping very questionable company. The company I do or do not keep has no bearing on my professional life. Well, I believe it does. And I believe that in the past, and even now, you continue to misuse your power to protect them. Just because you believe it doesn’t make it so. No, it doesn’t. But now that DA Scorpio is on leave, I can investigate. I, uh, know you two are close, and I never wanted to put him in an awkward position before. Oh, so thoughtful of you. ADA Turner, you do know that I’ve dedicated my entire career to law enforcement. Unfortunately, that doesn’t make any of what I’m saying less true. And if you’d help that… questionable group of individuals, I have no doubt you’d do the same for your own granddaughter. That is bull, and you know it! I brought Emma in myself. I’m just saying, going forward, everything better be by the book I brought Valentin in. Corinthos, Morgan
several times. Everything I do is by the book. Oh, I hope so, because unlike you, I never look the other way. You know, you have a lot of nerve showing up here after almost getting my mother killed. Josslyn. No, you have every reason to be upset. And I promise I will discuss it with you further. Just give me a moment alone with Mr. Morgan, and you can berate me all you like. Fine. Just make it quick. What is it? You should contact Devane. And be discreet about it when you do. Okay. Okay, I gotta go. Glad you had a good trip. Bye. Thank you. Yeah. All right. Let me have it. I feel like I can finally breathe. You can. Your dad’s going to be back to his old self in no time. God help us. You know, it’s been really nice having you by my side these last few days. I could not have gotten through it without you. I detect a little surprise in your voice? Maybe. The last few times I’ve really needed you, Kristina has needed someone, too. I know. I defaulted to Kristina. It’s been nice to have you to myself. And it’s been really nice to have Kristina to lean on, too. Molly and I are finally in a good place, and that means so much to me. She
She can’t know that I am the reason her father was in this accident. She’s never going to forgive me for that. And my mom
My mom already lost Sam. If I go to prison, she’s going to lose another daughter. And I’m telling you, she cannot survive that. Look, I’ll always be grateful to your entire family for for what Sam did to save Lulu. That’s who Sam was. You know, losing Sam almost broke us and if they lose me on top of that, that will break us. This This whole thing is just
It’s insane. [ Sighs ] I thank God Elizabeth and Ric are okay, and I don’t see how you going to prison is… is really going to help anything. Are you sure? Yeah. I mean, your family’s been through enough tragedy, and, uh, you’re going to have to live with the guilt of almost killing two innocent people. And if you’re anything like me, that’s going to be punishment enough. Thank you. Thank you so much. Thank you. [ Exhales ] [ Exhales ] Who would want you dead? How much time do you got? Alexis and I are in a good place, and it’s really not like her, so it couldn’t be her. Sonny’s always at the top of the list. But if he was going to cut anybody’s brake lines, it would be yours. Especially after you didn’t help him with his meds. That’s always nice to hear. The day of the accident, you parked in my spot, didn’t you? That’s right, I did. My spot has my name on it. And our cars look almost identical. Oh, my God. Your car wasn’t the target, Ric. Mine was. You’re volunteering for The Nurses’ Ball because of me? Well, someone had to. Or else that lady would still be sitting here talking about it. True. But really, the way she talked about you, your past performances must have left a big impression on her. Yeah, I guess so. I just
I just really love performing. I guess I’m like my grandfather Marshall in that way. When you’re on stage and you’re connecting with the music and then the audience goes with you, there’s really nothing like it. That’s exactly how I feel when I’m on the field. You could tell. I love watching you play those last few games. You were really in your element. Well, I hope I get the chance to see you in yours. If you love being in the spotlight, don’t give up a chance to be there. I don’t know. Maybe. Well, no, don’t be on the wrong side of maybe, Trina. I can’t do the thing that I love most because of my injury, but you can. And you should. And there’s always next year’s Ball. No, you’re right. Why should I miss out on something that I love doing so much? I’m going to perform with you this year at The Nurses’ Ball. Knock, knock, knock. Hi. Hi. Oh, hi. You’re both here. This is so good. And it’s really so good that you’re gonna be okay after that horrible accident. Yeah. Thank you. You’re welcome. Okay, so now that we know you are going to be okay, I want to discuss a topic that’s equally as important. The Nurses’ Ball. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. You do not want me in your show. Yes, yes, yes. I need your help. I need your help. Why would you do that to the eyes and ears of all the people who just want to support a good cause? They will ask for refunds. And trust me, you’ll have to give them to them. When you did Magic Milo. No, no. [ Chuckles ] You were a huge, huge hit. That last Magic Milo performance was my final bow. I bared it all literally. I have nothing more to give or show, but I will be in the audience cheering with my whole heart everyone who’s on stage. Gee, thanks so much. I’m gonna let you off the hook just for a minute, but we will circle back to you in a minute. Elizabeth. Oh. Come on, you are the heart and soul of the nursing staff, so you have to perform, you simply must. Yes, you simply must. Lucy, I am so sorry, but I’m going to be in this cast for the next six to eight weeks. I
I’m just out, too. I’m sorry. It’s perfect, because that fits with our schedule. You know what I’m going to do? I am going to put you both down for a duet. How are any of us supposed to trust you after this? I mean, what if somebody hurts Donna or me next time they come after you? Josslyn, what happened was a terrible mistake, but it wasn’t Jack’s fault. Look. It’s fine. Josslyn has every reason to be angry. She’s worried about you. What happened was a terrible situation that got out of control. But your mother’s very important to me. So are you. And you know that I will do everything I can to protect you both. Well, you should know that I’m pretty vocal about my opinions. I would expect nothing less. And I do hope I can get your support. Because your mother and I have decided to keep seeing each other. Yes, well, I can’t control who my mother chooses to date. But you need to promise me that you will take her safety very seriously. You have my word. Great. I’m gonna go. No. What? What do you mean you’re going? Stay. Stay in your old room and we’ll stay up all night talking. And you can tell me all about your trip. I would love to, but I’m dying to see Trina, and I have to sleep in my own bed tonight. Okay. Oh, Donna got you a gift. And we will both be in trouble if I don’t give it to you, so I’ll be right back. Okay. That was an impressive performance. I almost believed you want me to have nothing to do with your mother. Who said it was a performance? Here it is! So cute. It’s so cute. Thank you. I will call Donna later. Okay. I’m so, so happy you’re home. I missed you so much. Me too. And call me. Call me, call me, call me, call me. Okay. Bye. Okay. Well, it’s unanimous. Your entire family hates me. Brennan said to check in with you. Sounded like you might be in trouble. Yeah, Brennan gave me a heads up, too. I don’t trust the guy. I just want to make sure that you’re okay. ADA Turner has me in her crosshairs. So she specifically questioned me as to why you were released after Cyrus disappeared, despite the fact that your hairs were found in his cabin. Okay. Why
Why now? I think she’s been after this for a while, and I
I feel that Emma’s arrest kind of brought this all front and center. Probably doesn’t hurt that Robert’s gone. Yeah. Exactly. I mean, I wasn’t worried until I spoke with her, and now I’m a little nervous. I think Turner’s going to use any excuse, and she might find something that could end my career. Okay, first, I just want to say, um, that our friendship means a lot to me. Okay? And I don’t ever want you to get in trouble for protecting me. So if you do have evidence that you can bring me in and build a case, you should do it. We were wondering where you were. Have you been here the whole time? Uh, yeah, yeah, I I just
I had a lot on my mind. What’s going on? I’ve just been going over and over it, and, um. I just want to apologize to you, Molly. I’m sorry. I’m just
I’m I’m so sorry for everything. I’m so sorry. I can’t believe Sonny would try to kill the mother of his own child. The more I think about it, the less I think it was Sonny. He would never risk Avery being in the car when the brakes failed. And I don’t think he would even go with the brake lines route. There’s far too many variables. Sonny would never be that sloppy. We’re both equally impressed and uneasy, the fact that you know Sonny’s business practices so well. We do know someone, however, that would be that sloppy. Kristina? Before you left with Elizabeth, Kristina was in my apartment. You heard what she said. She was furious. Where the hell do you get off thinking you can drag my father back to court over Avery? You are threatening to out my father’s health issues and make him a target? That’s the price Sonny pays for the life he chose. You took my brother and you took my daughter. You will not take my father from me. She blamed me for what happened to Sonny and Morgan. And she practically went feral when I suggested that what happened to Michael was Sonny’s fault. It was like our fight in my room at the Metro Court all over again. But this time, it didn’t end with her falling out a window. I have done nothing
It’s too late for Morgan. It is too late for Adela. But it is not too late for my father. I will stop you, Ava. I will. It ended with her threatening me. She said she was never going to let you hurt Sonny or anybody in her family ever again. She said she was going to stop me, so she must have gone down to the garage and cut the brakes on your car, thinking it was mine. My God. That little witch tried to kill me. She almost did kill me. I’m sorry, Lucy, but even if my cast is off by the time The Nurses’ Ball comes around, I still have to take it easy. I just can’t perform. Okay, I get it, I really do, I understand. You know, your, um, health
it does come first. It does. Wait. Well… We can’t have the whole GH staff sitting in the audience, so… you win, Lucy. I will help you out with The Nurses’ Ball. [ Laughs ] That is fantastic. You will not regret it, I promise. I’m very good at finding people’s hidden talents for such a good cause. Well, I have no hidden talents. And I want to be clear, I will help out in any way I can, but I am not going to perform. Okay. You do not have to perform, I promise. Not everyone in my family hates you. Name one person you’re related to who doesn’t hate me. Donna. She loves you. And your dream analysis. Oh. Bless her. [ Laughs ] Look, the only person’s approval that matters is mine. And you’ve got it. We’re going to be fine. We know what we have to do, right? We keep our relationship separate from the WSB. Which is fine, because the further the WSB is away from me and my life, the better. Yeah. [ Gasps ] Oh! Hi. Sorry. Bad time. No! Never! I’m so happy you’re back! Everything’s going to be fine. We can continue to work together, but you’re going to need to keep your head down. You know, I do my best not to put you in a position where you have to look the other way. Yeah. We have to be strategic about this. We can’t be seen together in public in the foreseeable future. Okay, well, if we need to meet, we can meet at my room over at Bobbie’s. Nobody’s going to see us there. Sounds good. I just want to be clear. Our friendship stays the same. Yeah. We just got to keep it private. Excuse me. Hi. Uh, my girlfriend was in an accident, uh, out on, uh, Route 42 near Oakwood Road, and she thinks that, uh, her wallet fell out of her bag, and, uh, must be somewhere in the car. Is there any way I could
I could, uh, go to the car and check for it? Mm. You know, your girlfriend is lucky to be alive. That car was totaled. Yeah. Yeah. There’s no location listed for it in the impound yard. That means the car’s already gone through the crusher. Wait, are you saying that the car has already been destroyed? Yeah. Sorry about your girlfriend’s wallet. Yeah. Kristina, why are you apologizing again? Because… You know, being here in the hospital thinking about how much loss we’ve had. And losing Sam. And losing our daughter. I can’t stop thinking about how selfish I’ve been. I’ve been so consumed with my own grief that I haven’t even stopped to think about the fact that you have lost your daughter, too. And you lost your sister, too. And I I didn’t even see that. It was selfish. And I’m so sorry. Thank you. It’s okay. No, it’s not. It’s not okay. It’s not okay. I caused everyone a lot of pain, and I’m just
I’m really sorry. Alexis: Wow. I was hoping you two would get to this place. And now you have. Wow. Look at us, huh? All taking care of each other. I think Sam would be pretty happy. Yeah, I think so, too. Ava: The camera in the garage shows Kristina looking at my car. Or the car that’s in my clearly marked parking spot. And then she
she reaches for wire cutters. I remember Kristina at the crash site. That didn’t make sense. Now it does. Yeah. She’s probably checking to see if the deed was done. Oh. This is going to destroy any relationship that Molly has with Kristina. But truce or no truce, Sonny and Alexis need to see Kristina for who she really is when the cops drag her off for attempted murder. Give me my phone. I’m calling the police right now, so that they can nail my niece’s ass to the wall! Oh, now, now. Uncle Ric. Let’s not be so hasty.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!
Kai, what do you mean you might play football again? It’s not a guarantee, but there is a chance. Okay, and wouldn’t it be amazing if I can get back on the field? Yes, of course. And I know how much you love the game, But, Kai, how? Your doctors say that if you get hit again, you might be paralyzed for the rest of your life. Yes, they did okay, but it turns out that may not be true. In what universe am I the problem? You know what, Curtis, out of deference to our former friendship, I have cut you some slack. But now you’re using your grudge against me to potentially deny Kai a career that he has dreamed of his whole life. No, I’m not. I’m simply not buying your savior act. You’re making this young man promises that you can’t keep. I’m not promising him anything. All I’ve done is introduce him to a doctor that’s had great success with athletes that have suffered similar injuries. It’s wrong for you to stand in his way. I’m not. In fact, I told him You know what? If you really cared about Kai, you would encourage him to grab this opportunity before it’s too late to have a chance to actually benefit him. Yeah, he mentioned time being a factor. Yeah, because the less time there is between the injury and the procedure, the greater the chance of success. Wow. You know, if you cared about Kai, you would encourage him to look into it carefully, do some research, that’s what I did. Yeah, that’s what I did, too. You know what? If you want to come at me, Curtis, that’s fine. Leave Kai out of it. Agent Brennan, there’s something you should know. Earlier today, I saw Vaughn receive a suspicious drop off. And at first, I I figured it was a mission sanctioned by the WSB, but now I’m I’m not so sure. What is she talking about, Vaughn? I have no idea. I did bump into Jacks at the coffee shop, but Wait, you were following me. Weren’t you? No. No. Right, you just happened to be there? Yes. And I saw you talking to that woman. What woman? This is ridiculous. These are very serious charges, Josslyn, that you’re leveling against a senior agent, one that could end his career. Which means if you’re wrong, it could end yours. [ Knock on door ] Come in. Hey. Hi. What’s that? It’s, uh, from Diane. It’s tax documents for when I signed the Metro Court back over to you. Oh. Thank you. I’m sure you’re in a hurry. Carly… I can’t stand this. Oh! Yoo hoo! Deputy Mayor. Hi! Hi, hi. Hey. I’ve been looking all over for you. Did you try my office? Oh, listen, thank God you are helping me with this year’s Nurses’ Ball because there is so much to do, and it’s right around the corner. Okay. Excuse me. You You didn’t Oh, you didn’t know? You didn’t know. Okay, so I think it was, I don’t know, about the tenth time I called Laura’s office with details about the ball going over stuff. She kindly volunteered you to be the city’s liaison, so welcome aboard. [ Chuckles ] [ Machines beeping ] [ Sighs ] Hey! Oh, tell me you’re here to smother me with that. You’re not covered for that. But it’s triple fudge brownie day in the cafeteria. Maybe that’ll help? How are you feeling? Mm, I guess not too bad for someone with three new pins in her leg. No, Deanna, I’m I’m fine. And I appreciate you. Please don’t worry about me. It’s literally my job. If I slack and my boss finds out Oh, I hear she’s the worst. Um, I’m really worried about Ric, though. Do you have an update? Sorry. No change. Oh. Hey. Hey. Got the things you asked for. I’ll leave you to it. What’s the matter? You okay? I just realized this recovery is going to be a lot more difficult than I thought. You in pain? No. Just completely helpless. I know, I just I I know I did a bad thing. I know I did. I did a dumb I did a bad thing. I know I did, God, and I just Okay, please. I know, um… I know that I ask a lot, but please, just just don’t let Molly’s dad die. Please. Okay? Molly: Kristina. I hate asking people to do things for me. And I can’t imagine sitting around like this for three months. Didn’t Isaiah say three to six months? I’m a fast healer, so I’m saying three. Wow, I thought doctors were supposed to be the worst patients. I’m an excellent patient. Mm hmm. No, you are. I mean, it’s true. It’s just I’ve never seen a better one. Okay. You want this? No, can you just fold it and put it on the chair, please? Yeah. Look, I know I know you hate it when you can’t do things yourself. Especially when the people trying to help you don’t do it the way that you would. You make me sound like a control freak, which I am not. Seriously, who folds like that? Just give it to me. I was at Drew’s office Drew? You mean Congressman Cain? He told me to call him Drew. Right. Anyway, we were talking about the Pediatric Sports Initiative, and he asked me what I wanted out of life, and I told him I’m still trying to figure that out now that football isn’t a part of it. And what did he say? He told me about this doctor who’s making huge strides in vertebrae repair, and he told me he can get me in to see him. Oh, okay, so Drew just so happens to know somebody who can offer you exactly what you want. Well, he’s a congressman, so he probably knows a lot of people. Anyway, Drew thought I could be a candidate for this procedure. Drew did? And he’s willing to pay for it, Trina. Isn’t that incredible? Yeah, it just seems really hard to believe. I am not standing in Kai’s way. He came to me for advice, and I gave it to him. Frankly, the idea of him being in a wheelchair and paralyzed was enough for me to advise caution. But the possibility doesn’t seem as important to you. Kai is aware of all the possibilities. I gave him all the information. He is making his own decision. I am just in a position to help him accomplish everything that he’s worked so hard for. Just like I did for you. Excuse me? Oh, come on, Curtis, how do you think you ended up being CEO of Aurora? You wouldn’t have been in this office in the first place if I didn’t put you here. That is quite the list. Oh, well, that’s just your half of the list. See, I want as many people in our community to participate as humanly possible. So all you have to do is call each and every person on that list and confirm that they’re going to be performing. Okay. What is Curtis going to do? Um, well, he hasn’t said yes. Not yet. Okay. So when you say confirm, what you really mean is Convince. So listen, that means everyone and you do not take no for an answer. Molly, Mom. Hi. I didn’t know you were at the hospital. Yeah, I came to check on Molly’s dad. Um, and I wanted to I just came to say a quick prayer first. I heard. I mean, I know my dad hasn’t always been your favorite guy, but thank you. You’ve been an amazing sister through this. Oh. Where’s this coming from? I’m just reporting what I saw. You have no idea what you saw. Just walk me through what happened. I ran into Vaughn at the coffee shop. When I arrived, he was talking to a woman. Fancy seeing you here. Ms. Jacks. Later, he stood up to go to the coffee counter and he zipped up his hoodie. It looked like some sort of signal, and on his way back, he bumped into that woman and he dropped a plate. Woman: Excuse me. She crouched down to help him, and that’s when she passed him a small package. It looked like a pack of gum. Vaughn came back to the table and the woman left right after. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but I just heard you say that Vaughn isn’t cleared for field work. Sir, that’s not what happened. And, Jacks, do you honestly think trying to discredit me will impress the chief? I hate this, too. I can’t stand fighting with you. And I hate that the situation with Jack has come between us. But I can’t live my life by your rules any more than you want to live by mine. And you’ve never policed in my life and relationships the way I did with you. I mean, you wouldn’t have listened if I tried. No. Probably not, okay? But I sure do understand how much it hurt you when I would backseat drive your relationships. I hate having an ultimatum between us because it’s awful. But I don’t want to choose between you and Jack, okay? I just don’t. He means that much to you? No, no, that’s the crazy thing. This has nothing to do with Jack Brennan. We could be over in a month, but I don’t want to give anyone up because someone tells me to. Even if that someone is you. So, any news about your dad? No, Dr. Gannon’s examining him now. He’s out of surgery, and there’s no permanent damage. Oh, thank God! That’s amazing. And, Molly, anything I can do to support you right now through this, I’m here. And I’m sorry that, um, I let my anger and grief get between us before. I shouldn’t have done that. I’m sorry, too. But we’re sisters, and that stuff’s behind us now. Davis girls are gonna stick together. Forever. Dr. Gannon, how is he? I can’t discuss his medical condition unless you’re a family member on the approved list. Oh, well. I’m a list, alright, but not the approved one. His family hates me. Then I’m afraid I can’t The thing is, doctor, um… Ric and I are seeing each other. We were together the day of his accident and the last conversation we had… Well, I’m just hoping it’s not the last conversation we ever have. I’m sorry, have you tried talking to his daughter, Molly? Uh, no. That’s okay. No. Thank you. Okay. Oh! You know, if if there’s nobody in there right now… If his family were to catch you, then I would be most respectful and I would leave immediately. Oh, thank you. Hi, Ric. Please…wake up. I don’t want our last words to each other to have been spoken in anger. Yes, Drew, you gave me the CEO position, and I repaid you by doing an outstanding job. And you repaid me by stabbing me in the back. Well, it seems like you’re doing just fine. Yeah, that’s because I wised up and I outmaneuvered you, okay? I earned this position. My argument still stands. [ Chuckles ] You know, intentions matter, Drew. See, you like to gloss over your betrayals by saying everything worked out in the end. Willow cares about you. Never mind the fact that you went after your nephew’s wife. To hell with Michael. Do you not think that I regret I think that everything worked out for you in the end, and Michael was just collateral damage. And I don’t want that happening to Kai. This procedure is brand new. Okay, Dr. Mohinder is the only surgeon performing this surgery in the continent, and my insurance doesn’t cover it, so maybe that’s why nobody considered it an option. Or maybe because it’s just too new. Look, I’ll know more after I meet with Dr. Mohinder. And Drew can get me a consultation. And what is Drew gonna do? Pay the six figure tab? That’s what he said. He barely knows you. So why would he do that? I am telling the truth. If Agent Vaughn can explain it, great. If he can’t… Agent Vaughn. What do you have to say for yourself? Yes. I spoke to a woman at the café. She asked if she could have a sugar. I gave it to her. I did zip up my hoodie when I went to the counter because I was cold. When I was on my way back, I bumped into a woman and dropped the croissants. She offered to help, but didn’t lean down to pick anything up. The only thing on the floor was a croissant. No, no, she passed you something and she left right after because her job was done. Of course she left because she was done with her coffee. So do you stand by these accusations, Josslyn? Fortunately for Vaughn, I find his version of the events credible. As for you, well, maybe your mind was playing tricks on you. So, do you stand by your version of the events? Can you do me a favor and find Isaiah? You in pain? You need something? Yeah, I need him to let me go home. Go home? You just had surgery. I can lie around at home, just like I’m doing here. Can you? You can’t do stairs. You can’t stand up and cook for yourself. Aiden will help me. Aiden has school. And when he doesn’t, he has homework and other important things to take care of. Can you help me? No. I’m going to be right here waiting for you to come to your senses. Isaiah did mention something about a rehab facility. I just want to go home. I know you hate this, and I don’t blame you, but you need to let yourself heal, okay? And just try to be grateful that that you’re not in here recovering from something a whole lot worse. I mean, God knows I am. I know. I know I got off easy. Well, I wouldn’t say easy. Just better than it could have been. Deanna told me that Ric still hasn’t woken up. I’m sorry to hear that. I keep replaying that moment when the car went off the road. It was terrifying. I could have been killed. Don’t remind me. All I want to do is help Kai. Then don’t set him up for a fall. I noticed, Drew, I’ve noticed this about you. You like to pick people up, and then when they can’t help you anymore, you drop them. I really hope Kai realizes this before it’s too late. Uh, should I come back later, or do you need a referee? No, I was just leaving. No, actually, Drew, can you wait? This concerns the both of you. Carly, I know I don’t have the right to tell you what to do, but I can’t change how I feel about Brennan. And it’s dangerous to be so close to him. I was close to Sonny, Jason. You know that. I understand Sonny’s world. I can anticipate things in our world with our enemies, but Brennan’s world, his enemies. I don’t know how to. I can’t I can’t see around those corners. I can’t anticipate anything and protect you. And after Sam’s death… I can’t I can’t take the risk of losing you. You know, I always, uh… …figured the people I loved would outlive me. But losing Sam… And I’m supposed to trust that Brennan can protect you? I can’t, because your life isn’t as important to him as it is to me. It could never be. I would take a bullet for you. I will always protect you. And I cannot trust that Brennan will. I don’t trust a word that guy says. I know you don’t. But I haven’t felt this alive in a really long time. So can you trust my judgment when I tell you that Jack is not a threat to me? You’re making a mistake, Jacks. It might be embarrassing, but it’s not too late to admit it. Agent Vaughn is lying. I saw him put the package in his right pocket. That pocket. Empty your pockets. You can’t be serious. Humor me. Well, what have we here? Seeing you two together after everything that has happened gives me hope. You really think everything’s going to be all right? I do. And you, Molly? I don’t know. I’m still really scared about my dad. Um, but I have to believe that he’ll be okay. And that’s easier to do when I’m with you two. And that’s the way it’s always going to be. Let’s go check on your dad. Okay. Okay. All right, Lansing. I’ll make a deal with you. You wake up right now, and I’ll let you bill me for a whole hour. It’s worth a shot. Well, if you won’t wake up for me, and after the things I said to you, I wouldn’t blame you. Wake up for Molly. Your daughter loves you, and so many people need you. I need you. And remember, you promised to take me to that winery that you like when the weather’s nicer. So, you can’t leave me hanging on that. Okay, you know what? I think I should go. I don’t want to abuse my visitation privileges. But I’ll be back if I can. [ Groans ] Ric. E Elizabeth. Where Where’s No. Elizabeth is fine. You’re the one that everybody’s worried about. You were in a car accident. Somebody hit us? You lost control of the car, and you went off the road. You were driving Elizabeth home. Yeah, I remember. We were arguing, and I lost control, and… The brakes, they The brakes failed. Dr. Gannon, he’s awake. What are you doing here? Your father’s awake. The doctor’s with him. Thank God. Hey. I was so scared. Oh… Ain’t never gonna lose me. Mom, I can’t do this. I need some air. I told you to stay away. Do I need a restraining order? I’m worried about Ric. I’m worried about my girls. And Molly needs her sister here. And the last thing Kristina needs is to see you. I left the other day out of compassion for your family. But GH is a public place, and I’m not going to let Kristina’s questionable mental state keep me from seeing somebody I care about. Ah, Alexis. Ava. How lucky I am to find you both together. Okay, I need you both to confirm you will be performing at this year’s Nurses’ Ball. Never have, never will. Excuse me. I’ll get back to you, okay? There’s something I need to take care of. Look, paying your medical bills is an extremely generous offer, especially for someone that he just met. I thought the same thing. And I asked him about it. And? Look, Drew thinks that I have potential. Yes, obviously you do. But even so It’s just a consultation, Trina. Are you gonna do it? Well, that depends on your mom. I gave her the information that Drew gave me, and she agreed to look into it. I trust her judgment. And she did find the procedure that helped your dad walk again. [ Scoffs ] It just It just feels like it’s moving really fast, okay? And I just don’t want you to be disappointed if it doesn’t work out. And even if it does, I’ll be afraid that you’ll be hit wrong and then be paralyzed. Then we’re on the same page. It’s not just about playing, Trina, it’s about being a part of a team. Are you even able to get back on the team? Well, that’ll be tough. PCU’s already had to replace me, and there’s no guarantee I’ll be able to play college or pro ball, but at least I’ll have a chance. And that’s because of you. I’ve driven everyone away my whole life. But you’re the one person that’s never walked away. I never will. You know, I’ve been thinking about, um, the time we had our first breaking point. When I slept with Sonny. It was a lot more complicated than that. Our relationship changed, but it didn’t end. And I don’t want it to end now. Neither do I. So, um… I’m just going to stay out of your relationship with Brennan. You mean that? It’s not worth losing our friendship. If you’re right about Brennan, then you’ll be happy. What if you’re right? Then we’ll survive. Whatever danger Brennan brings our way… Together. What we do now is quite simple. Congratulations, Agent Jacks, you just passed your first phase of training. Wait. What? This This This was all a test? And you passed. Here you can celebrate with us wait this pack a spy gum. What? What were you testing me on? If I noticed the hand off? That was part of it. But mostly I was testing your loyalty. And you didn’t let your feelings for a colleague supersede your duty to the WSB. And you trusted your judgment even when I gave you a plausible explanation. Okay. Your training will be ongoing. But right now, we need you in the field. There is an assignment for which you are particularly well suited. Unless, of course, you don’t think you’re ready. No, no, no, no, no, I’m I’m ready. Where am I going? Okay, okay, yeah. I would have gotten that eventually. Uh, yeah. Eventually. Listen, I I know how independent you are, and that’s probably because you were left to handle things on your own way too often. I have always taken care of myself. Yes, that’s true, but there’s something you need to understand. There are a lot of people who love you, and they want to help you. So please, just let us help. All right, well, you’re going to have to bear with me while I learn how to ask for help. I can do that. I’ll even get you one of those little bells. No, no, no, no, don’t push it. I just I hate that you’re going through this, but I’m going to see you through it. Sorry to interrupt, but I thought you’d want to know Ric Lansing’s awake. Thank you. I know what you’re thinking. That I need to hurry up and get that little bell. You blame Ric for the crash? Please don’t. Sometimes accidents just happen. Well, thanks to Laura, I am now working with Lucy as the city liaison for The Nurses’ Ball. As such, I have been given a list of potential acts. And you are both on it. Well, the ball is a worthy cause. I’ll gladly make a donation. As will I. And that’s great and all, but Jenz Sidwell has actually sponsored the entire event this year. What? Oh, your buddy didn’t tell you about that, did he? So what they got you, like, recruiting… To perform. Yes. Oh, like, the thing is, the performers are always so talented. I don’t really know what I would do, so. No, not to worry, because Lucy insists, and I mean insists, that she will discover your hidden talents. Uh, okay. I’ll, uh I’ll think about it. Well, the third week of May will be here before you know it. So what do you say, fellas? Yes or no? The whole time we were waiting, I just kept thinking what if I never get another chance to tell my dad how much I love him? Oh, you think I don’t know that? I think I don’t say it enough. Say it all the time. I love you, baby. I love you too, Dad. You’re the most important thing in my life, you know that. And I am very proud of the woman that you’ve become. Even though I’m a prosecutor? Work on that. Oh, my gosh, you’re giving me way too much credit. I mean it. You make me look for possibilities instead of just dwelling on disappointments. Well, I can say the same about you. After Spencer died, I was in a dark place. And then you came along and jeopardized my class project and brought color back into my life. Well, that’s high praise from an art lover. The highest. And I can’t wait to see where the future takes us. What a coincidence. Me too. You’ve always been my rock. You gave me the confidence to live life on my own terms. And I knew that I could always face my consequences, good or bad. Because I had you in my corner. And that’s why these past few days have been really difficult. Because I thought that I’d finally driven you away. And that terrifies me. I guess I’m glad you didn’t listen. This one time. Why? Because if you hadn’t given in, and you had done what I asked, you would resent me. I think that’s one of the reasons I didn’t give in. You’re the most important person in my life. And if I gave in, I knew deep down that it would destroy us. What can I do for you? Hi, I’m here about my car. The single vehicle crash out on route 42 near Oakwood Road. Has anybody looked at it yet? Well, there’s not much to see. I mean, your car’s totaled. In fact, it’s headed for the compactor. That’s what I was afraid of. You see, the thing is, I need to file my insurance claim ASAP. And really, I might want to sue that manufacturer. Do you think that maybe you could do me a little favor and take a look at it, see if maybe there’s some mechanical reason the car lost control. It’s time for your meds. Oh, did you bring enough for everybody? Ignore him. Do you really think that’s possible? I also need to take your vitals. All right. I’ll, uh I’ll get out of your way. Trevor. Well, I just. I got something I need to deal with, but if you need anything, you call me. I will. Promise? Promise. [ Door closes ] [ Sighs ] [ Knock on door ] Lucy: Anybody home? Hello? Hello? If we’re quiet, maybe they’ll go away. I know that voice. That will never happen. Ah! [ Knocking continues ] Coming, coming. Well, hi there. Thank you. Oh, my goodness. This is the cutest little place, I love it. Yeah. Oh, I know you. You You were at the Pediatric Sports Initiative press conference. You’re Kai Taylor! Kai Taylor. That’s That’s me. Oh, well. Hey, um, listen, I am Lucy Coe. I am the founder and CEO of Deception Cosmetics. Lucy, can we This is not really a good time right now. It’s okay. It won’t take long at all. I’m also, besides running Deception, I am the chairperson of the General Hospital Nurses’ Ball. We can discuss that a little bit later. Oh, no, no need, because I am going to put both of you down to perform at the ball. You know what? I would be happy to participate at The Nurses’ Ball. I always have time for a worthy cause. Thank you. And how about you? Are you in? Of course. Hang on. What? Did you ask Drew and me to The Nurses’ Ball at the same time? Because you knew that he would have to say yes in front of me, and that I wouldn’t be able to do less than he was. Welcome to politics. You will never lose me. Even if you think I’m making the biggest mistake in my whole life? Even then. Oh! Josslyn: Mom! I’m home. Vaughn: You really think Jacks is ready? She has to be. This assignment is time sensitive. Not an ideal answer. Far from it. Which is why you’re going is Josslyn’s back up. I’m glad to see you’re okay. Liar. For Molly’s sake. Oh. I’m glad to be awake. Do you have any idea what made you veer off the road? I’m trying to piece it together, but it’s hard to concentrate. Okay, well, you have a head injury, so just rest and maybe it’ll come back. Yeah, might as well. I got nowhere else to go. And no arguing. I’m just so happy you and Elizabeth are going to be okay. It’s a miracle that ambulance got there as fast as it did. Hey. What? What’s going on? Does anyone know that I caused No, not. Not yet. But you’re not going to tell anyone, are you? First, you’re gonna tell me how you almost killed Elizabeth. Well, what do you think? Did you find anything? Yeah. It’s not good. Well, it was a literal car crash, so. I know. What is it? Brake lines on that car were cut.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!
Got your voicemail. Is there a problem with the baby? No, no. T The baby is fine. I called because the problem is with…you. Hey. Kai. Come on in. Thank you for seeing me on short notice. Anytime. What can I do for you? I need your opinion on something. Congressman Quartermaine offered me an incredible opportunity. What does Congressman Cain want you to do now? Nothing. Actually. Okay? This is about what he can do for me. We had a deal! Excuse me. You can’t just barge into my office like that. And you didn’t hold up your end of it! I certainly did! I stood right next to you at that press conference. I took the pictures. I smiled. Yeah, then I did my part, Drew! Then Curtis went ahead and undermined me by calling me Congressman Cain in all of the Aurora media coverage. Well, you’re gonna have to talk to Monica about that one. No, no Because Curtis is your husband, I got to deal with you, so I’m talking to you about it! You better get him under control, or I will blow your cushy little life right out of the water. It’s nice to see you, Trina. I appreciate you meeting with me. Yeah. We haven’t spoken since Ava’s trial. Kristina’s not trying to appeal the ruling, is she? No. No, no. Nothing like that. I need your help with an entirely different matter. Once the symposium was over in Miami, I thought I’d never see you again. H How can you possibly be here in Port Charles? I’m not stalking you, if that’s what you’re thinking. Isn’t that what a stalker would say? Probably. [ Both chuckle ] But it’s more a question of fate. So why does fate want you in my neck of the woods? [ Chuckles ] Fancy seeing you here. Ms. Jacks! Hi. Am I…interrupting? We have a problem. Well, I don’t see why. Sonny has underworld connections. The WSB has interests That’s not the problem. You just told me that your chat with Sonny had nothing to do with me, that he wasn’t telling you to stay away from me. I don’t believe you. Look, if you don’t want to share Bureau business with me, that’s fine. But don’t lie to me, Jack. You will never be in a position to tell me what to do again. Ever! Not after the spectacular way you wrecked our family! [ Knock on door ] Excuse me. Hello. Sorry to show up unannounced. I figure you know who I am. Of course. Sonny Corinthos. Well, Mr. Sidwell… I think it’s time we met. There’s this cutting edge operation that can fix my cracked spine. And I never knew about it, but Drew gave me some information about a doctor who’s performed the operation on a few athletes and had success. Well, I know from experience that some of these cutting edge procedures are legit and can be successful. Okay. So it’s definitely worth exploring, right? But there’s no way I can get an appointment to even meet with the doctor. And that’s where Drew comes in. Yes. Okay? He’s willing to make the arrangements on my behalf. And if the doctor says I’m a candidate for the surgery, Drew offered to cover the cost. Drew’s got plenty of money and connections, and as soon as they’re tapped… his job is done, okay? You’re the one that’s gotta go through the surgery and live with the outcome. So what matters is that you’re okay with it. I mean, I’m thinking about it. Okay? This could give me the chance to play football again. I can see how much this matters to you. More than anything. But, also, it is somewhat risky. And there’s still the possibility of an injury. And I don’t have a lot of time to decide. Is Drew pressuring you into this? No, no, not at all. It’s… It’s just the procedure’s chances of success go up the sooner it’s performed after the initial injury. What do you think I should do? First of all, I had absolutely nothing to do with Monica and Tracy’s decision to revoke your name. And, secondly, I had no idea what Curtis’ plans were for Aurora Media. Well, from now on, you make it your job to know. How? Should I get a crystal ball? Hack a computer? Bug a phone? Whatever it takes. So you’re asking me to spy on my husband now. No. I’m asking you to be proactive. If Curtis is working on something that could negatively affect me, you need to tell me about it so I can stop it. You got it? Curtis is a smart man. He’s gonna know. He’s gonna know that something is up. Make sure he doesn’t. Otherwise, he’s gonna know a whole lot of other stuff that you’d rather he didn’t. We clear? We are. [ Door opens ] She’s all yours. This a bad time? I’m actually in Port Charles for a job interview. And guess whose photo I saw on a partner’s desk as I was leaving the office. Which law firm? How many law firms is your photo in? [ Chuckles ] Miller and Davis. Oh! Okay. Did you meet with Alexis? I didn’t have the pleasure of meeting with Ms. Davis yet. I only had an interview with Ms. Miller. And I think it went well. I still need to meet with Ms. Davis before an offer can be made. So there’s a very real possibility that you could be moving here. I think there is. In that case, um… I have a confession to make. You’re not interrupting at all. You want to join me? I was just asking if I could steal this gentleman’s sugar. Oh. It’s all yours. Thank you. Sorry. I definitely interrupted. What do you mean? She was hitting on you. Oh, the old “You have sugar, I need sugar” trick? Yeah. No. [ Chuckles ] What are you doing here? I thought you had…class. Yeah. It’s funny. I did. Um, but then my professor, he wasn’t feeling well, so he canceled last minute. And I was told I had the day off. I thought I’d explore the area. Mhm. You just wound up here? Well, no, actually. I’ve seen this place’s logo on all of your to go cups. I figured the coffee must be pretty good. You come here a lot. Must be a big fan? I am. That’s very observant of you, Jacks. Hm. [Hushed] You’re shaping up to be a halfway decent agent. Carly, I know that you are a woman that is hard to forget and even harder to get over, I would imagine. But why are you so sure that Sonny, what, threatened me to leave you alone or else? Because it’s happened many times before. I know Sonny. We have kids. He feels like he has a say in my life. Well, to Sonny’s credit, he didn’t bring up your name even once. Really? I swear. It It was WSB business. Okay. But I meant what I said before. You know, secrets might be a factor in our relationship, but I can’t tolerate lies. I have to be able to trust you, Jack. That’s fine. I want you to. But you do have to understand that there are certain subjects that I cannot discuss with you. And if our worlds happen to intersect and it involves my work, for your own safety, I cannot tell you the truth. So that WSB business you were talking about with Sonny, I can’t ask you about that. You can ask, but you have to know that my answer will be a lie. Or a half truth at best. Now, is that something you can live with? Um, you got company? The women from Deception were here. We were celebrating going into business together. Since when? We just sealed the deal. And since you’re an investor in Deception, I guess you’re in business with me, as well. Shall I pour you a glass, give you the details? No, thanks. I’ll talk to Lucy later. I’m here on other business. And what other business is that? A few months ago, somebody, uh, firebombed my penthouse, and my son was badly injured. I’ve heard. It’s a terrible tragedy. Yeah, right around the time that you showed up in Port Charles. Well, I hope that you don’t think that I was involved. At first I didn’t, but then some news came to light, and it forced me to reconsider the possibility. Felicia was asking questions, and it made me realize that I might need you to take more of an active role in my baby’s life. I already told you I would. But did you really think through what that meant? Because I thought I did. And it turns out that I glossed over a few things. [ Exhales sharply ] Okay. What, uh What are you talking about, exactly? Well, the birth plan. Felicia asked if you would be participating. Then she asked if you would be supplying your medical information and if your name will be on the birth certificate once the baby is born. Yeah. I’m fine with all that. You do know that you would be committing fraud if we list you as the father, right? I’ve done worse. Right. Yeah. I mean, I guess I have, too. [Groans] This is just so much more complicated than I thought it was gonna be. Why don’t we, uh Why don’t we focus on the birth certificate once the baby’s born? Okay? Okay. You know, this would have been so much easier if I had just left town like I wanted to. But Michael wanted me to stay, so I stayed. He wants to be around his kid, even if it’s from a distance. But that’s the problem. It’s his kid! If Willow finds out that I got pregnant while they were still married, she’s gonna use it to get full custody of Willy and Amelia! Which is why I’m pretending to be the father. But for how long? Months? Years? I wanted to meet with you because I had some questions about what went down at the Quartermaine estate yesterday. Oh, you mean when the city tried to bulldoze down an entire family’s resting place. Oh. I’m more focused on Emma Scorpio Drake’s actions that day. I know she’s a friend, but I also know from experience that you tell the truth, even when it doesn’t benefit your friends. Look, I don’t know what more I can tell you. I I live streamed the whole thing. Everything that happened was right there. Why are you so interested in Emma? The last I heard, her charges got dropped. Those specific charges were, but while processing her arrest, some troubling things came up in her record. She’s never said anything about her record. What about her previous college? Has she talked about why she was expelled? No. But with all due respect, why is a New York ADA so concerned about what happened all the way across the country? What could you need to confess? Well, first off, I still want to replace your shirt. Um… But what happened… that’s not me. I don’t get drunk and pick up guys at a bar. It’s not like we slept together. I just… Random hookups aren’t my thing. Mine either. But on the flip side, I’m not ready for a huge commitment, so if you are moving here for me Let Let me stop you before you embarrass us both. I reached out because I was surprised and pleased to see that you live here. I really enjoyed spending time with you that night. And, yes, I find you attractive. Really? Really. But I’m not plotting to get you into bed or try to make you my husband. [ Chuckles ] I just thought we could get to know each other better. Especially if I get that job. I swear. I am normally not this neurotic. It’s just I’m still very embarrassed by what happened. [ Stammers ] You were so kind to me, and I just wanted a chance to get to know you better. Well, now’s your chance. What was that all about? What do you want, Brad? A promotion and a four day work week would be nice. Yeah. No. It would. It’s not gonna happen. Get out. W I thought we were cool. You know, since I took care of certain “things”? Certain things? So the certain things that you took care of, they wound up in Drew’s possession. Why don’t you go and tell me how much money you got from that? What? Go ahead. Nothing! He didn’t get anything from me, I swear! Well, then how does he have it?! How does he have the very thing that you promised to destroy, Brad? I [ Groans ] It must have been my Aunt Selina. I’m sorry. What? So not only did you keep the evidence, but you gave it to your Mobbed up aunt? Wow, Brad. You are unbelievable. [ Scoffs ] You know what? Well, at least our little arrangement is now null and void. Wha I I don’t know. I can always just get back in the system and get another copy. No. I’m sorry. You can’t. Because I already took care of that. The only thing for us to take care of now is ironing out your severance. Hey, man, I’m the last person to tell you not to take this one in a million shot. I did. And it paid off. And how did you make the decision to just go for it? I trusted my wife. She provided the miracle. And it doesn’t hurt that she’s a brilliant doctor. But Drew isn’t. So before you get your hopes up, my advice would be to get your procedure medically vetted. Now, you could ask Portia. She’ll give you an honest assessment. Okay. A And if she says it’s legit… Well, then, um, you got a tough choice to make. Mmm! I can see why you like it here. The coffee is great, and I’m sure the croissants are good, too. Good coffee doesn’t necessarily mean good croissants, but… Mhm. Except the past four customers have all ordered one. So they must be pretty good. Alright. You can give your keen observational skills a rest. You’re off the clock. I’m never off the clock. Well, nobody likes a suck up. Here’s my observation. You played volleyball, right? Given how adaptable and driven you are, I’m guessing you were an outside hitter. I was. You played? I was a setter for my college team. But I had to stop because I was…too competitive. Ah, well, I have heard that one before. From my best friend, Trina, and my brother Michael. You must really miss them. I do. Not enough to quit. Just checkin’. I’m gonna snag us some croissants before they’re gone. I don’t want your security needs to be a blanket excuse for you to deceive me whenever it suits you. And I don’t want your job to make it so you don’t have to be accountable for yourself. Look, I know. I know I’m asking for a lot of leeway here. But there is something that I can tell you. I’m never gonna manipulate you or use you or intentionally hurt you, not ever. If you give me your trust, I promise I will not take advantage of it. I mean, that’s a big “if,” right? I just feel like the odds of my heart getting broken by you are pretty good here. You got to understand. I got a lot on the line here, too. I mean, I I am breaking the cardinal rule of the WSB. Never to form emotional attachments. Emotional attachments? Yeah. But with you… I am helpless. Wow. We’ve gotten ourselves into quite a mess here, huh? So what do you want to do about it? What new information have you discovered? The person who planted the device is a hired hitter. Wha Correction. Was a hired hitter. Before I came here, somebody informed me that he was expired. Huh. What a coincidence. Does the name Soliski ring any bells for you? Not a one. That’s kind of interesting because, you know, he worked all over the world. Including Africa. Isn’t that where you based your operation? Yes, yes. Yeah? I’m sure Mr. Morgan told you all about my compound in Somalia. Right. Um… But Africa is a very big continent with a very large population. And the odds of me being connected to any specific person also doing business there, well, they’re very low. I’m a cautious man. I don’t like coincidences. Mr. Corinthos… you seem to think that I want to get rid of you. No. The truth is… I want the exact opposite. I’m only concerned with Emma’s legal problems because of who her grandmother is. Police Commissioner Devane is in a position of civic trust. If she’s using her influence to shield her granddaughter’s wrongdoings, that merits investigation. Well, it sounds like to me then you have an issue with Anna Devane, not Emma. And I have no connection with Anna, so I can’t help you. I completely understand. Thank you for meeting with me. Yeah. Well, it took me a long time to settle on medicine, but once I did, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I worked for a while in Boston, but then when there was an opening at General Hospital, I was more than happy to make the move. I spent a few years in Manhattan working at this big, prestigious law firm. [Sighs] The long hours ground me down. My tennis game went to hell, and so did my love life. Mhm! I take it you’ve never been married? Nope. [ Chuckles ] But speaking of marriage, how are things with you and your ex husband? Please, please, please. You can’t fire me, Dr. Robinson. Really? After the way that you treated me? No. I owe you no favors. I’m sorry! Please! Just give me another chance! [ Groans ] [ Knock on door ] Yes? Kai: Dr. Robinson, it’s Kai Taylor! Oh! Come in! Hey, Dr. Robinson. Oh, I hope I’m not interrupting. You kind of are. You’re not interrupting. Bye, Brad. We’re done? Yes. But don’t go far. We have a lot to discuss. Okay. I’ll just be in the lab doing work that saves lives. Bye, Brad. Hey. Come on in. Have a seat. How can I help you? Well, I’ve been offered a chance at having experimental surgery that might make it possible for me to play football again. But I wanted a second opinion, so Curtis suggested I come talk to you. Oh, well, I’m happy to help you. I want to give my baby the best life possible, but how can I do that when I’m starting off by lying to their whole family? I love Felicia, and I love my family. I know, I know, but we got to take this just one step at a time. Especially since Michael’s not here. [ Sighs ] And we still don’t know when he will be. Yeah. All I know is that, uh, he’s he’s putting in the work and he’s getting better. All you got to do is stay the course until he gets back. I’m trying. You’re doing great. If it gets to be too much, you know, I’m right here. I can help. Michael is really lucky to have you. You’re, like, the greatest uncle ever. I don’t I don’t know about that. But I promised Michael I’d be here. And there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for him. So, uh, for the foreseeable future… …you and I are in this together. I’ve done business all over the world, and in my experience, if you want to operate out of any port, you need a stable ecosystem. Now, will there be criminal elements? Always. But as long as they are contained, there’s peace. And my research has taught me that you are very good at maintaining the peace. So, you see, your continued presence is crucial to my success. You expect me to believe that you’re gonna run a legitimate business? [ Laughs ] Yes. Yes, I do. Right. I don’t see you as a rival. I see you as someone who will maintain the status quo so my business can thrive. Obviously, you’re a man of great wealth, but it’s hard for me to imagine that you you got that by sticking with the status quo. I can understand your reluctance to trust me. Perhaps in a gesture of good faith, I can aid you in finding justice for your son Michael. I have a son, so I know what you’re going through. Allow me to use my resources to find the culprit. No, thank you. I’ll handle it. I’m sure. But if there’s anything you need… I’ll let you know. Good luck with your business dealings. Thank you. As long as they don’t interfere with mine. I can live with not knowing the things you can’t tell me. Well, I can live with the risk to my well being if that means I have any chance of a future with you. To hell with doing the smart thing. Hmm. Ohh, I would love to take this up to my room, but I have somewhere I have to be. Where? Just kidding! Oh! Uh [ Laughs ] Excuse me. Thanks for your help. Mm hmm. Last one. You should have it. That’s fine. I insist. We could have each had one if I hadn’t been so clumsy. Yeah. You’re not usually such a klutz. Guess we all have our moments. Yeah, I guess so. What’s so urgent? Usually you take your shots at me in print, so why the need for a face to face? You need to leave Kai Taylor alone. He’s vulnerable, and he doesn’t need you messing with his head, getting his hopes up for what may not happen. What are you talking about? Kai Taylor had football ripped away from him, and since then, he’s been trying to put his life and his sense of self back together. And here you come, swooping in all cavalierly, giving him a chance at the impossible. It’s not impossible. The success rate of the procedure is actually very high. I thought you, of all people, would appreciate a long shot finally paying off. What if the procedure doesn’t work out for him? He is going to have to recover from another surgery, and it will wreck him again! There are no guarantees. You know that. Tell that to the college kid whose dreams are riding on that long shot. And if the procedure doesn’t work out for Kai and he’s out of football for good, I’m guessing the “benevolent godfather” act will disappear. Am I right? Portia: You’re right. This is a very cutting edge procedure. It’s not my area of expertise, but I’m more than happy to look into it and do some research for you. Thank you, Dr. Robinson. You know, that that’d make me feel a lot better. It’s my pleasure. How did you hear about it? Was it your coach or physical therapist? No. Congressman Quartermaine. He even offered to pay for the surgery, since my insurance won’t cover it. I see. Um, did you talk to your parents about this? Because your parents would need to know about it, as well. Not yet. I wanted to wait till I knew the procedure was a legitimate possibility. Okay, well, I’ll let you know what I find out. Thank you, Dr. Robinson. I really do appreciate this. I’ve been avoiding my ex since I got back. I thought you said you two worked together. Good memory. Yeah. We do. And I know my luck will run out at some point and we will run into each other. It does seem kind of hard to avoid. But in the meantime, I have to clean up this big mess that he made. What kind of mess? I’m pretty sure I told you that he manipulated his way into that symposium. Yes. you did. Well, without getting into details, he crossed a line, and I have to make things right for the person he wronged. Why is that your responsibility? I don’t know. Guilt? But once I take care of that, I can finally put him behind me. Hmm. Well… good luck with that. Hey. Hey. [ Chuckles ] How did we start talking about me again? I want to hear about you. I’m afraid that’ll have to wait till another time. I really do have a meeting. But I’ll be in town for a few more days. So if you want to know more about me, you’ll have to agree to see me again. Well… I’d like that a lot. Who was that? I can see why these are such a hit. Have the other half. I’m good. Besides, I have to get back to work. Oh. Okay. Well… thanks for the pastry. Enjoy the rest of your afternoon off. Hm. Well? Alright. Let’s forget about Marco for a second Marco? He is cute. Well, I noticed that someone didn’t come home last night. What, are you checking up on me? We live in the same house. I don’t need to “check up.” I realize that, but Donna was with Sonny, and you are a grown man, so I thought you’d be okay at home without me. And I would have been, if you would have given me the common courtesy to let me know that you had plans. As it was, yeah, I was I was worried. Okay. Sorry. It must have slipped my mind. Or you just didn’t want me to know that you’d be with Jack Brennan. Can you blame me? Everyone and their cat has lectured me about it. And from what I noticed at your table, it seems like you decided not to listen to any of it. Well, after careful consideration, which I did, I decided to let things play out. Well, you should know that Jason came and visited me at work today. He’s worried about you. And you know he is not one to panic easily. Yeah. I know. So feel free to ignore me, but please take his concerns seriously. Okay. I am so sick of everyone and their concerns! It’s not gonna change my mind about Jack, so please don’t fight me on this. I I won’t. But… I have a feeling that Jason won’t back down so easily. I don’t know what little game you’re playing. But Sonny’s smart. He’s dangerous. You don’t want him as an enemy. It’s impolite to eavesdrop. I hope you meant every word you said. I hope you don’t have any designs on Sonny’s territory, because I would strongly encourage you to reconsider. Are you saying that for my safety or for your own? Oh, no. I’m not in any danger. Sonny and I are friends. [ Laughs ] Yeah. Then why’d you scurry off when he arrived? Could it be that he doesn’t know that I’m your ex husband any more than your cohorts at Deception do, hmm? Could that be the reason? By keeping your mouth shut, Natalia, you’ve already betrayed everyone. So your threat to out me is ridiculous. You’d only be hurting yourself. It might be worth it. Because Sonny and those women should know how dangerous you are. Well, that wouldn’t be good for your health. Thank you for coming. To be perfectly honest, I’m surprised you accepted my invitation. Well, I was already in the building looking for Lucy Coe, and I got the text that wanted to have a sit down with me. Lucy is not in her office, so here I am. Well, you must not have told Diane Miller. If you had, you wouldn’t be sitting here alone. Well, you know, you worked so hard at trying to get Ava convicted that I thought I’d have a conversation with you this time. For the record, I am very sorry I couldn’t get justice for Kristina and your granddaughter. You did the best you could. I’m somewhat new to Port Charles, so I had to do my due diligence in preparation for that case, and I noticed something… interesting. Yeah? What’s that? That despite you having been the subject of multiple investigations, trials, and even some convictions, you’ve managed to do quite well for yourself. You’ve even closely aligned yourself with the city’s most prominent leaders, including the Mayor and the Police Commissioner. What can I say? People like me. Even when associating with someone like you could hurt their careers? That’s, um… harder to understand. True friendship rises above, uh, you know, rumors and innuendos. [ Chuckles ] That’s it, huh? Let me give you a friendly piece of advice, Ms. Turner. If you’re fishing for something… cut bait. Why are you here? You had the afternoon off. Yeah, I did. Um… But there was something that I wanted to ask you. Go ahead. I [ Door opens ] Afternoon, all. Vaughn: Didn’t know you were coming today. Well, I wanted an update on Ms. Jacks’ progress. Her progress is good. She’s working hard and consistently passed all of her tests. Does this mean… Ms. Jacks is ready to graduate. And I’m ready to get back in the field. That’s a conversation for another time. I didn’t sign up to be a trainer. I want to be back in the field. Watch yourself. Ever since Romania, we can’t afford to have you out there. It’s gonna be a long time before you’re doing anything but training recruits. You get me? Please. Don’t send me back to my Aunt Selina. I need this job more than you know. Fine. I’ll let you stay. But only because I might need your help in the future. Great. I I’m here to help. Love helping. If I call on you, you better come through. Whatever you need. Whenever you need it. I promise. You better mean it, Brad. Because from now on, I own your ass. I am literally just trying to help him. Don’t let your grudge against me potentially rob that young man of a life changing opportunity. I’m trying to protect him from being used by you. I’m not the problem here, Curtis! You are. [ Knock on door ] Oh, my gosh. Hi. What a pleasant surprise. Come in. I needed to tell you something. Trina: Okay. What? It’s a long shot, but there may be a way for me to play football again. ADA Turner: I’m not fishing. I just thought it would be smart to get to know you better, Mr. Corinthos. I don’t think your bosses would like that. No one tells me what to do. I guess we have that in common. Well, I hope I satisfied your curiosity. Uh, I actually still have some questions. I’m all out of answers. See you next time… Ms. Turner. Alright, well, I should go to the kitchen and start dinner. Whoa! Are you okay? The baby just kicked for the first time! [ Laughs ] You were there when the baby moved the first time, too. Guess I have good timing. [ Laughs ] You want in on the action, Dad? Mnh. I don’t know. [ Laughs ] Come on! [ Chuckles ] Wow. That That was a strong kick. [ Laughs ] Are you threatening me, Jenz? [ Scoffs ] [ Knock on door ] Excuse me. Hey, Dad. Sorry I’m late. Come on in. Mom. What are you doing here? I believe we have an understanding now, don’t we? Yes, sir. We do. I’ll give you and Ms. Jacks some privacy to discuss next steps. Vaughn, wait! Um, Agent Brennan, there’s something you should know. Earlier today, I saw Vaughn receive a suspicious drop off. At first, I thought that it was maybe a mission sanctioned by the WSB, but now I’m not so sure.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!
[ Siren wailing ] Lucas. Hey, Jason. Are you here to visit with Elizabeth? Because she’s in X ray right now. I’m actually gonna check on her later. I’m here to talk to you. What can I do for you? It’s Carly. This thing with Brennan has to end. [ Both chuckle ] Why did you let me sleep in? What time is it? Well, come on. I mean, you need your rest. You almost died. But I didn’t. And I’m very, very much alive. Hey. Emma. What are you doing here? You’re You’re in this mess because of me. Where else would I be? That is so typically sweet of you. And I appreciate the moral support, but it was my idea to chain myself to that crypt, not yours. That’s what I don’t understand, Emma. Why did you do it when you knew you had a record? Oh, ADA Turner. I wonder if we could have a word. What can I do for you, Commissioner? Uh, well, actually, I’m not here as commissioner today. I’m here as a grandmother. I think it would behoove you to remember that you’re both. Would it? Oh, okay. Well, I just was hoping maybe we could take into account the extenuating circumstances. And what do you think those are? That Emma was trying to do the right thing. It was a nonviolent act of protest, and there was no damage. Plus, she had the Quartermaines’ blessing. She was in defiance of a court order. A bulldozer was about to level the Quartermaine family crypt. Commissioner… There’s more to it than that. Oh, yeah, no, I agree. I think you’re after my granddaughter because you have a problem with me. You sound terrible. [ Hoarsely ] I’m fine. Well, guys, if Deception is going to get our miracle face cream on the shelves first, we need zincite! And Jenz Sidwell has lots of the stuff. He’s dying to do business with Deception. He’s offering us a really, really good price. So come on. It’s a win win. I’m not denying that it is an attractive deal. Thank you. But what’s in it for him? Thank you. And is it just me, or, I mean, the guy kidnapped Sasha. Does that not bother anybody else? Uh, me. It bothers me. Then why are we talking about it? Well, in all fairness, Sasha felt she overreacted. About what? The kidnapping or the explosion? Of course, why would she say it if it wasn’t true? Sasha. Thank you for talking to your friend Miss Jones. Whatever you said certainly did the trick. Great. Yes, all parties are in agreement. In fact, your former colleagues from Deception should be here very soon, which begs the question Should you be here? I mean, after all, no one can know that yours is a paid endorsement. I’m not gonna stay long. I just need you to convince me to my face that you’re not gonna screw over my friends. I give you my solemn oath. There. Good enough? Try again. And if I don’t buy what you’re selling, neither will they. I will tell them exactly who and what you are, and the whole deal will be off. Well, that’s very valiant. But, then, won’t you miss your payday? You’re mistaking me for my mother. There are limits to what I will do for money. Good to see you, Laura. I’m very happy to get your call. I thought it would be nice to have lunch together. Well. My, my, my. Isn’t this cozy? The elected mayor of Port Charles and the real mayor who runs the show behind the scenes. Ezra, if you would like to speak to me, ever, please contact my assistant. Oh, no. Clearly, I don’t rate for a lunch meeting like some other fine citizens. But, um, Madam Mayor, please tell me, how does the public feel about you breaking bread with, uh, an alleged crime boss? If you are getting my friends into anything illegal or even questionable, our arrangement is off. Deception needs zincite. I have it. If anything, I’m doing your friends a favor. You’re giving it to them for free? [ Laughing ] Well, not that much of a favor. I mean, I have had other offers, but, uh, no, I prefer to do business in Port Charles. Helping the local economy? Helping your friends get a leg up in a very competitive market. And for your role in this, you’ve earned quite a tidy sum. What’s wrong with that? Fine. But the moment I suspect that you’re up to something shady, let’s just say that I know someone who can keep you in line. Okay, now that Sasha has give us her blessing, this is an incredibly necessary deal. You know what? I’m I’m not going along with this just because our cook said her bomb happy kidnapper is misunderstood. I don’t trust him. You don’t trust anybody, ever. Come on. You didn’t like Sonny’s involvement with Deception. It turned out just fine so far. In fact, we got a wonderful CFO. Uh, thank you. All right, think about it, ladies. Come on. If Erica Kane gets her miracle cream out in the market before we do, we’re toast. We will never, ever catch up. So we need the product, we need Jenz Sidwell, and we need to commit to some sort of long term deal with him for the long term good of our company. Lucy is right. Timing is everything. Exactly. Okay? Let’s just decide this, shall we, once and for all? We give Jenz Sidwell a long term contract. Yea or nay? Alexis, don’t worry about a thing. I will handle the interview. [ Knock on door ] No, just give Molly my love. I have to go. Bye. Diane Miller, I presume. You must be Marco Rios. I I blew it with Carly. I did the one thing I never should have done. You told her what to do. I listed all the reasons why she shouldn’t be with Brennan, and that only makes her dig in deeper. I made it pretty clear that I am not a fan either, and she did the same thing. You have to try again. Do you really think that’s a good idea? Carly hasn’t responded well to being pushed, ever. One more nudge from anyone, and she’s gonna… start a family with the guy. Okay, Brennan is a major player at the WSB, and he sought Carly out for some reason. I think the reason’s pretty clear. The two are very into each other. It would actually be nice if it wasn’t gonna get her killed. That’s why you have to get through to her. She can’t even acknowledge that she’s in danger. Carly thinks she’s used to the danger. She was married to Sonny. You’re her best friend, and you’re not exactly the safest guy to be around. What, you don’t see a difference between me and Brennan? No, of course I do. But Carly won’t allow herself to see the difference in the level of risk. Which means she’s not letting herself see Brennan for who he really is. Yeah. ‘Cause she’s falling for him. You know what? I think spending the day in bed is a really good idea. Oh, I was hoping you would see it that way. We need to make the most of it, you know? I mean, Donna is gonna be back from Sonny soon. Josslyn is gonna be back from Easter Island. We’re not gonna be able to spend as much time together. Well, somehow I think we’ll find the time. If that’s what you want. Yes, I want! [ Laughs ] Well, what about you? What about your schedule? I mean, as I recall, it’s not exactly light. No, it’s not. I know we both have responsibilities and commitments, but whenever the WSB allows, I am all yours. Good. I’m sorry, Ezra, I didn’t quite catch that. What kind of crime boss was that? Alleged. Right? I mean, your boy here is innocent until proven guilty, is he not? Like everybody else. Take it easy on the “boy” stuff, will you? Or? Or… You can be rude if you want. If that’s what you want. You want to be rude? Well played. Ever hear of the appearance of impropriety? Yes, I have, and that’s why we’re having lunch in a public place where everyone can see us, because I have nothing to hide. Even so, the people aren’t gonna like this. [ Laughs ] Oh, my goodness. That is funny. ‘Cause you know something? The last time I checked, my approval rating was twice as high as yours. Heh, um… Now, if you would excuse us, this is a private lunch. Okay. Okay. But, Madam Mayor, please do yourself a favor and just think of all the good that you could do if you weren’t wasting time with him. I’m sorry. I really am. He’s just a jerk. Yeah, yeah, he is. But he’s not wrong. Harvard Law, Penn undergrad. Five years with Wolf and Tanner in Manhattan and then McDowell in Miami. That’s very impressive. As are your references. So that begs the question Why do you want to move to a new law firm? I wasn’t inspired by corporate law. I much prefer the work you do here. You have an excellent track record in criminal defense and a fair amount of contract law. Well, that’s corporate. But it’s negotiating, which is kind of litigating. [ Chuckles ] And for this, you are willing to leave the Miami sunshine? I like a place where winter is winter. Well, be careful what you wish for, because we get more snow here than Boston. Climate aside, a major client of mine, J.S. and Associates, is based here now. So if this were to work out, I’d be happy to bring them along, as well as a few others. Oh, my. [ Laughs ] Very impressive. [ Laughs ] Uh, Laura, people are always talking. And most of the time when they talk about me, it’s not true. But you and I both know that you’re, you know, you’re putting your reputation on the line just being seen with me. Sonny, I’m not about to hide my friendship with you. And for who? The public? Or… I’m certainly not gonna let that guy tell me who I can and can’t have lunch with. I I appreciate your loyalty. I just don’t think we should be seen together. But I have nothing to hide. You have no influence over me or the decisions that I make as the mayor. I’ve had a lot of black eyes in my life. But…we have no business affiliations. And I never have and I never will put pressure on the police to look the other way if they’re inclined to look your direction. They’re always gonna be looking my direction. If they don’t, I’ll I’ll get lonely. [ Both laugh ] See, I love that. I just love that. You know, we have a long and complicated history, don’t we? Our families are intertwined, right? Yeah. So I’m just not gonna hide. I’m not gonna hide the fact that we’re friends just because I’m mayor. If Sidwell agrees to the terms we discussed, are you a yea? Yes. Okay. And I’m a yes. That’s a shock. [ Sighs ] Natalia? I’m gonna abstain. I’m a money person. Cosmetics are not my area of expertise. Oh. Okay, fine. Brook Lynn? I still want to talk to Sidwell. But put me down tentatively as a yea. Okay. So, Tracy, what say you? However, it doesn’t really matter because we got all the votes we need. I am going to follow Natalia’s lead and abstain. That way I can’t be held responsible for the consequences. Great. Great. Okay. It is all settled. So why don’t we head to Spoon Island? You all have fun. I am needed elsewhere. Where? I am going to attend to my civic duty. I don’t like to talk about what happened in California, okay? Is it that bad? It’s that embarrassing, yeah. And it’s not like this thing that I’m charged with today. Okay, that crypt, that’s a cause worth fighting for. I agree. Totally. But…why didn’t you tell me about your record? I would have done… I would have chained myself to the crypt instead. Honestly, that’s not something that ever occurred to me, and it’s a pretty bad idea. Why?! Why? I’m the one who actually lives with the Quartermaines, Emma. So what? So that you can lose your spot in the music program at PCU? No! I’ve already been arrested. Everyone already thinks that I’m trouble. So, yeah… it had to be me. Whatever our differences are, they have nothing to do with Emma. Commissioner, while I won’t deny that your closeness to certain unsavory characters gives me pause, have you bothered to look into Emma’s prior arrests? Yes, I have. And they don’t concern you? It was a party that got out of hand, and she was expelled. My granddaughter is a spirited young woman, and we all made mistakes at that age, did we not? You don’t know. Don’t know? Emma was part of an activist group protesting one of her university labs. Everyone involved was arrested. Yeah, for what exactly? That’s the thing. I don’t know. The university is stonewalling me. I requested the report from the dean of students. They sent me to the university’s legal department. Okay, so that’s just university bureaucracy. What does it have to do with Emma? The university must have struck a deal with your granddaughter. They left the charges at breaking and entering and expelled her, but they sealed the record, which means… Whatever Emma did is serious enough that the university doesn’t want the story to get out. Exactly. So when it comes to your granddaughter, I have no idea who I’m really dealing with. And neither do you. [ Gasps ] Ah, champagne. What a wonderful idea. Well, before we pop any corks, we do have some questions. I welcome any opportunity to put your minds at ease. Okay, well, we know why we’d like to do business with you, but why do you want to do business with us? I mean, after all, you’ve had offers from from Enchantment and Melador. Yes, well, neither of these companies are based in Port Charles. When I decided to expand my business to North America, I didn’t want to be based in Pine Valley or, uh, Llanview. Oh, oh, no no, no, no. of course not. Port Charles has everything I need and more. Access, ease… beauty. And your family has done quite well being here, haven’t they, Miss Quartermaine? All I want to do is the same. Well, Marco, I know you are interviewing with other law firms, but you seem like you would be a good fit here. I’d love the opportunity to prove that. I’d love to give you the chance. But before I can make the offer, you have to meet with my partner, Alexis Davis. I’m looking forward to it. I’ll be in touch. May I ask, who is that? Oh, that’s, um… That’s Alexis’s late daughter, Samantha, with her brother, Lucas. Carly said she’s not in danger because she’s not committed to Brennan. So in her mind, “not serious” means “totally safe.” Which means she can justify being with the guy because she doesn’t have any expectations. Yeah, well, anyone who saw him fight for her life the way he did would know that the two are very invested in each other. [ Sighs ] When was the last time you talked to her? Before she checked out? Aren’t you staying with her? I am, but, um, Sonny has Donna, and, uh, my sister didn’t come home last night. Because she was with Brennan. Probably. Which means that nothing we can say will change her mind. I mean, the guy almost got her killed. If that’s not enough to convince her that Brennan’s not good for her, I don’t know what is. I understand, Laura, but if you ever change your mind, decide you want some distance, just let me know. Okay. Thank you. So, uh, have you been to see your brother? I avoid my brother whenever possible. You don’t know, do you? You don’t know. Okay, um, Ric was in a car accident, and Elizabeth was with him at the time. They are both in the hospital now. How’s Elizabeth? She’s awake. There’s no damage to her spine. Thank God. Yeah, but she does have a fractured leg. It will need surgery, but Lucky’s just been glued to her side. I’m actually going over there to visit her later this afternoon. Ric hasn’t woken up yet, just in case you were wondering. I hope, for his daughter’s sake, he pulls through. I hope so too. [ Both laughing ] I I don’t know how to say this, but your zincite mine is beautiful. It’s almost like a Japanese rock garden of course, with bulldozers. Uh, well… [ Cellphone beeps ] Oh, okay. I’m sorry I have to leave. I hate to cut this short, but I have an appointment at G.H., and I couldn’t reschedule it. Of course, your health comes first. I appreciate that. Can I, uh, talk to you for a second? Sure. Excuse us. I am so sorry I’m leaving. I it’s okay. I knew Lucy would be Lucy. Are you okay? Just routine blood work. Okay. Don’t worry about Sidwell. I’ll take care of him, I promise. Thank you. And what about you? What do you think of the deal? Any reservations? Um, eh, not enough to ruin it? Okay. I’ll keep you posted. Thanks. [ Exhales sharply ] Well, um, I am sold, so let’s sign. Not yet, Lucy. A word. Uh, of course. We already agreed to this. You did. You agreed. You and I know that, but he doesn’t know that. Not to rush things, but the ice is melting. Just Just one teeny, tiny moment. You know, I was gonna wait until after the signing to tell you this, but I might as well say it now. I’ve already expedited your first order of zincite. At my cost, of course. That is very, very thoughtful. Anything to help Deception. Anything. [ Exhales sharply ] Well, Mr. Sidwell, you have yourself a deal. Tracy and Aunt Sasha. I didn’t know that you guys were coming. Of course I’m here. We’re family. I see you got my gift. He’s one of ours. He hasn’t said more than five sentences to me this entire time. Yeah, well, don’t worry about that. This is all nonsense. We’ll take care of all of it. All rise. Court is now in session. The Honorable Judge Rourke presiding. Be seated. In the matter of the People vs. Emma Scorpio Drake, the charge is obstructing governmental administration. How does the defendant plead? I know the drill. Not guilty, Your Honor. So entered. What are the People asking for bail? Your Honor, given the defendant’s priors and the fact that she poses a significant flight risk, the People request that the defendant be held without bail. Your Honor, remand for a Class A misdemeanor? This does seem a bit extreme, Ms. Turner. Your Honor, the People are treating this young woman like she robbed a bank. Given her record, that could be next. Ma’am, you need to sit down, and I would advise you to let the defendant’s attorney handle this. Your Honor, I actually prefer Ms. Quartermaine to ma’am, but I digress. There is nothing to be handled. The sheriff and councilman were misinformed when they arrived with their demolition order. The entire matter had previously been settled. Is this true? An agreement had been reached between Monica Quartermaine and the Port Charles Land Trust. I have the agreement right here. And you will see that there was absolutely no reason for the sheriff and the councilman to be anywhere near my family crypt with bulldozers. Ergo, no crime has been committed, no reason to punish this upstanding young woman. This agreement does seem to be in order. The People have no case, Your Honor. This arraignment is nothing but a waste of time and taxpayers’ money. You are an extremely busy man. So how about we stop wasting the court’s time. Dismiss the charges. To the beginning of a long and lucrative relationship. Hear, hear! Uh, before you sign, I just need to work out a few more details with Mr. Sidwell. Mnh mnh. Mnh mnh. The contract’s already finalized. Just a couple of I’s we need to dot. Oh, well, the devil’s in the details. [ Chuckles ] Lucy: Okay, well, then goody. Goody goody. We get to celebrate twice. Oh! Okay. Thank you so much. Absolutely. So we will definitely be in touch. And I… look forward to it. And I hope this is the beginning of a very successful partnership. As do I. As do I. Okay. Okay. Ta ta. So, tell me, what are these mysterious details? You must be pretty pleased with yourself right now, right? Satisfied. I’m very happy with the outcome. Yeah, you think the deal is done. It’s not. ‘Cause they’re not gonna sign when they know what I know. Thank you for seeing me on short notice. Of course. I will always make time for you. Even when there’s no crime involved. Is there a crime involved? No. I just needed to meet with you before I see Sasha later today. And why is that? Just to be clear… Yes, of course this conversation is covered under attorney client privilege. I need to amend my will. To provide for Sasha’s baby. I see. Michael and Sasha already had an agreement that she was gonna raise the baby by herself. And yet here you are amending your will. Well, they already made that agreement before everybody assumed that I was the father. Which you went along with. To protect Michael. Yes, of course, of course. Say no more. I will see to it that Sasha’s baby is well provided for. But first I need to know the scope of Michael’s exposure. Who else knows about this? Sonny? No, he’s staying out of it. Carly? You haven’t told Carly? Look, I considered telling Carly. But now that she’s with Brennan… …I think I’m gonna hold off. What is she doing with that guy? I mean, she should have dumped him after she nearly died. Yeah. You know, once an ex, always an ex. Yeah, but there’s no way I’m gonna get Carly to change her mind, so I’m just gonna have to pretend she’s not batting her eyes at the man who nearly got her killed. Thank you. Thank you. You ordered so much food. Yeah, well, somehow I seem to have worked up an appetite. [ Cellphone chimes ] Ah. I left mine in the room. Yeah, well… Um… Sorry, I just, uh… I’ll be back in a minute. Madam Mayor, I’m sorry for the interruption. Oh, no problem at all. What can I do for you? Actually, I was wondering if I could have a word with Mr. Corinthos. Oh. Pardon us. What’s this about? The WSB was just informed that a contract killer named Soliski was found dead in his Toronto home. Okay. Well, we did some digging, and it turns out Soliski was inclined to use incendiary devices. Much like the one that nearly killed your son. Ms. Turner, thoughts. The People agree. The agreement predates the court order. The sheriff was there in error. It’s all settled. Your Honor, can we end this charade? However, that doesn’t change the fact that Ms. Scorpio Drake was ordered by law enforcement to vacate the premises, and she refused. Your Honor, the crypt would have been bulldozed if she hadn’t. And as no one, including the defendant, is denying her actions, the People recommend that the charges stand. Well, I’m inclined to agree… Your Honor! …but we are not going to trial over this. We’re gonna work it out right here, right now. Your Honor, if I may? At this point, why not? Since I already have a record, a guilty plea’s not gonna make anything worse. So could I just, like, do some community service or something? Any objections? No! Your Honor. Well, given the new circumstances, the People agree. Fantastic. Ms. Scorpio Drake. I’d like to change my plea to guilty, Your Honor. So entered. The defendant will serve community service. Number of hours to be determined. Yeah, about that, Your Honor I’ve got a packed course load this semester [ Whispering ] Just say thank you! Thank you, Your Honor. Why do I get the feeling that Carly’s relationship with Brennan is not your only reservation? This baby is Carly’s grandchild. There’s no way that she’s gonna be able to keep it a secret, even if she didn’t say anything. You’re right. You’re right. It’s Carly. There might as well be a neon sign over her head. I hate to even say it, but I cannot trust Carly with this. I mean, she hasn’t been making the best choices lately. I just think it’s better that she does not know. Okay, well, forgive my bluntness, but Carly hasn’t made good choices for decades, and I have never once heard you say that you cannot trust her. So what’s different this time? When Carly was with Sonny, I could protect her. I knew that world. I know our world. I know the players in it. I understand it. But with the WSB, I mean, look, Valentin tried to take out Brennan, and Carly almost died from polonium poisoning? Yeah, that was a first for me, and I hope it’s the last. Look, I don’t know what code they work off of in Brennan’s world. I don’t even know what his agenda is. I don’t know if somebody’s out to get him. I don’t know anything. I don’t know the players. Which means I can’t provide Carly with the same level of protection I used to be able to. Soliski was a contractor. He worked all over the world. All over where? He was based mostly in Africa. But he also took work in South America, the Balkans, Middle East. World traveler, huh? You wouldn’t know anything about his death, would you know? No. I don’t know anything about that. No, I didn’t think so. Had to ask. You understand. Well, have a pleasant evening. Thank you. Anytime. [ Sighs ] Anything wrong? Uh, that guy Brennan was just asking me about some guy in Toronto. I wouldn’t know him if I saw him. Huh. Strange that he would ask you about him, then. Yeah, well, that Brennan guy is strange. Yeah. I got to cut this short. I’m sorry. Sonny, are you sure that nothing’s wrong? Yeah, yeah. Everything’s fine. I appreciate the conversation we had. See you. See you. So, what, pray tell, do you think that you know? I know that Deception provides the perfect cover for you to smuggle in, I don’t know, whatever it is that you’re smuggling these days. Plutonium? Uranium? What is it? Oh, Natalia. So sad that life has made you so bitter and mistrustful. These women have been really good to me. All I need to do is warn them. That might compromise your position with them, won’t it? They still don’t know that I’m your ex husband, do they? And I would tell them that too. Little late, don’t you think? Why would they ever trust you when you’ve left out such a pertinent piece of information? No, Natalia, if you know what’s good for you, you will keep your mouth shut. Another sparkling water? No, thanks. I already gave him an extra 20 minutes. He’s not gonna show. Leaving so soon? Justine. What is it now, Commissioner? I’m hoping that what happened today with Emma in there, we can put behind us and make peace. Your granddaughter dodged a bullet in there. She is in way more trouble than she’s letting on. Yeah, clearly. The very fact that her record is sealed means whatever crime she committed, it was serious. So whatever she did in California is going to come back to haunt her. Thank you so much, Both of you. [ Laughs ] Thank you so much. You put yourself in the line of fire, and that took courage. Yeah. I totally owe you one. Oh, don’t worry about it. I’ll collect. How about now? Can I buy you some dinner? Surf Lodge? Oh, actually, sorry, um, that’s gonna have to wait. Sorry. Okay. Yeah. No problem. Text me. Thank you again. Thanks, Tracy. So what now? Interrogation at a black site or… Funny. We’ve got to talk about these priors. You have to tell me what you did. I can’t tell you that. But I I spoke to your parents. This is all news to them too. Grandma, I can’t tell my parents, and I can’t tell you either. Why not, honey? Because the truth is I can’t tell anyone. They made me sign an NDA. Okay, it was either that or I go to jail. Hey. You’re back. Is everything okay with the baby? Sorry about that. What was that about? It was WSB business. With Sonny? Does that surprise you? WSB has never been interested in Sonny before. So are you sure he wasn’t warning you to stay away from me? Well, I’m sorry to disappoint you, but my conversation with Sonny had nothing to do with you. What do you care what I do? You divorced me. I believe you said you wanted nothing to do with me. And yet here you are, right back in my life again, uninvited. Let me be clear, darling. You will never be in a position to tell me what to do ever again. Ever! Not after the spectacular way you wrecked our family. [ Knock on door ] Excuse me. [ Door opens ]

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!
Dispatch, we got passengers trapped in a car. Requesting the jaws of life. And we need an ambulance here now! [ Sirens approaching ] [ Sirens passing ] Please, God, don’t let that be Ava. Please, God, don’t let that be Ava. [ Breathes deeply ] Hi! Is Kristina here? I’m her sister. Uh, I’m not sure where she is. I’ve been here for a while, and I haven’t seen her all day. Molly: Hm. Can I have two beers, please? Yeah, you got it. Thanks a lot. Hello. Hi, there. Don’t take this the wrong way, but are you sure it’s a good idea for you to be here? Sure. Why not? Well, because the last time you were here, you punched Lucky Spencer and spent the night in jail? Kai, I’m very happy that you’re keeping an open mind about this surgery. You’re so talented. You should explore every avenue that could possibly get you back on the field playing football again. I appreciate you saying that. You’ve given me a lot to think about. [ Door opens ] Oh! I I’m s I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to interrupt. No. Come on in. I’m glad you’re here. [ Cellphone rings ] I, um I got to take this. Just give me one sec. I’ll be right back. Is it done? We have a situation here at the Quartermaines’. Well, then fix it. Get it done. I don’t care how you do it. Grandma, please? Anna: Oh… Don’t do this. Honey, I don’t have a choice! Look, the sheriff has a demolition order, and you are breaking the law. Tracy: You should be ashamed of yourself, Anna. Do you really have to cuff her? She’s not a hardened criminal! Anna: Just… Don’t worry about it. It’s fine. [ Sighs ] Go ahead. [ Cuffs clicking ] Emma Scorpio Drake… you’re under arrest. Come on. I’ll drive you to the station. Ezra: Uh, are you just gonna leave her here? You are on your own when it comes to Tracy. This is her property! Sheriff, will you arrest this stupid, stubborn woman? Ooh. I am gonna remember that. Lewis: Let’s go. Come on. Hands behind your back. Do…not…touch me! Who hired you? I don’t know. It was untraceable. You don’t know? Then we don’t need you. [ Gun cocks ] Wait! Wait! [ Steam hissing ] [ Whirring ] Firefighter: Almost there! Paramedic: Careful! He’s got a head wound! We got to use spinal precautions! Firefighter: Second passenger is a female. Unresponsive. God. What happened? This looks like a bad one. I don’t I don’t understand. I don’t understand. I mean, it it was supposed to be Ava! It was supposed to be Ava. Thanks. Uh, yeah. I am…not proud of what I did here last time, but, uh, Mac really wanted to meet up for some beers, and he was pretty insistent it be here. I think he might be testing to see if I can act like a civilized human being. Something tells me you are not the kind of guy who is good at tests. Ouch. But also correct. [ Chuckles ] Yeah. I’m more of a “learn through experience” kind of guy. Nothing wrong with that. No, but you you do a lot of dumb things on the way to learning the right ones. That is a downside. Mm hmm. Yeah, I also I was hoping to run into Lucky. I need to apologize to him. Uh, I haven’t seen him. Gosh. You’re really into truces these days, huh? What does that mean? [ Chuckles ] It means you somehow convinced my dad to make peace with my mom. He told me. Oh. Yeah. You know, we just had a quick little chat. It was really no big deal. It’s a very big deal, and I cannot thank you enough. It’s only been a couple days, but it seems to be working. That’s great. I’m glad. I mean, I didn’t think anybody could convince those two to be civil with each other. And the guy who pulled off that miracle doesn’t seem like the drunk idiot I dealt with at the PCPD. You’ve got me thinking maybe you are a good guy after all. [Singsong voice] Maybe. What’s this? My business card. [ Door closes ] I owe you one. Consider it a “get out of jail free” card for when you get in trouble next. Oh. Oh. For when I get in trouble. Oh. Sorry. Mac: Well, look at you! Hey. Already in a bar and not in a fight? I’m proud of you. [ Chuckles ] Well, the night’s young. And, uh, if I do, I got someone to call now. Kai, this is Alexis Davis. Alexis, this is Kai Taylor. He is the best quarterback PCU has ever seen. Well, I don’t know much about football, but even I know that’s quite an accomplishment. So congratulations. Thank you. Thank you. Kai’s one of the athletes involved in my Pediatric Sports Initiative at G.H. He’s actually the face of the program. Do Do you know about this, the program? I do, and I think it’s a wonderful idea. Is that what you wanted to talk to me about? No, no. It was, um It’s something else. I should get going. Okay. We’ll talk soon. It was nice to meet you. Same. [ Sighs ] So, I assume this is about Scout? It is. Did something happen? Oh. No. No, no, no. Don’t worry. It’s It’s good news. Actually, it’s great news. Yuri: I stand with you, Miss Tracy. Good man. You put one finger on us or this crypt… I will have your job. There is no getting out of this. This ends tonight, and it’s looking like you want to end it in jail. Now, the sheriff has no qualms about arresting you, but please feel free to test him. It would be fun for me. Talk! I don’t have a name. Okay? Only contact information. You expect me to believe that you leave that information lying around for anybody to see? It’s the truth. Shut up! Tired of your games! [ Gun cocks ] Okay, okay! Open the drawer. This better not be another trick. It’s It’s not. [ Grunting ] What do you mean, it was supposed to be Ava? I saw. I saw. It was her car. It was her car in that parking spot. I checked! I checked before I cut the brake lines! I saw it! And I… Why would Ric be driving? That doesn’t make any sense! Hey, hey. Listen to me. Listen to me. Y You need to get back to Charlie’s as fast as you can. But Ava’s Alright? Go through the back entrance. As far as anyone knows, you’ve been in the store room doing inventory all day. Okay? Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Kristina: Okay. Firefighter: She’s out! Careful, everyone! [ Radio chatter ] Elizabeth. Elizabeth?! Cop: Hey! Hey! You need to stay back! That’s my ex wife! They are doing everything they can for her! Alright? Let them do their job! Is he okay? I mean, is she breathing? Hey! Relax! Do you want to go to jail? Sir, I need you to calm down now! What the hell were you thinking? I mean, I I don’t even know where to start. I’m not sure that I recognize you anymore, Emma. Maybe that’s because I’m not a little kid anymore. Because I’ve changed, Grandma. Into what exactly? A college student? Yeah, a college student who, for the first time in her life, is completely on her own? I mean, come on, Grandma. I’ve got freedom to push the boundaries a and break the rules and make some mistakes. God. You’re certainly doing the latter. I’m sorry, but is college not the time in your life when you’re supposed to figure out who you are and nobody’s supposed to tell you how to think or how to feel or how to act? Has it helped? Yeah. Yeah, I think that it has. I know that I’m somebody who hates inequality and unfairness. I know that I want to do something really, really good in this world. And a huge part of that for me is standing up and fighting for the things that I believe in! I respect that. That’s great, Emma. But the Quartermaine crypt is not your fight to take on. You know, out of all the people in this world, I can’t believe that you’re the one that just said that. I mean, I’m sorry, but are you not the Police Commissioner? Were you not in the WSB? Do you not spend every single day of your life dedicated to helping people and making sure that they are safe? What changed, Grandma?! Good people of Port Charles… my father, my mother, and my brother are all laid to rest here. After spending an entire lifetime dedicated to this community… this is their final sanctuary. They spent over 50 years helping Port Charles grow and thrive. Our beloved General Hospital is a beacon of care and community, and, for years, it was their vision and their generosity that kept the doors open. Bulldozing this crypt… and ripping my family from their final resting place has absolutely nothing to do with righting a wrong, correcting a mistake. No, it has everything to do with a corrupt politician, Congressman Cutthroat Cain, using his position and influence to advance a personal vendetta with the shameful assistance of Councilman Boyle! Citizens of this fair city, we must stop it! Ezra: Okay. Are you done yet? Okay. Showtime’s over. Tracy: Did you get all that? I did, and it’s about to go viral. You were great. And right. Ezra: Look, I don’t know what you were hoping to achieve there, but if you thought the people of Port Charles are gonna come rushing down here and help some rich lady save her land, you miscalculated. Your time is up. Arrest him. Just do what they say. It’ll make a better lawsuit. Ezra: Hm. Hmm. Ohh! Do not touch me. Do not touch me! It’s been quite a while since I’ve heard great news. [ Chuckles ] So, what’s going on? Willow, Amelia, and Wiley are moving in with Scout and me. Yeah, Scout’s been spending tons of time with Willow and the kids, and she’s absolutely loved it. And Wiley and Amelia love her, too. And I just thought, with everything that’s been going on lately, it’s just it’s really, really important that Scout has a stable home, a home filled with laughter a and love. And…I think it’s gonna be a great fit. I don’t. I think it’s a mistake. He’s gone. We got to go. Laptops, phones, e watches. Whatever Soliski’s got. Yeah, I I’ll turn the place upside down and grab everything. Brick might be able to crack into one of them and give us the name of the person behind the explosion. The trail may not be cold just yet. Mac: You and Molly? I didn’t realize you two were friends. Uh, ye We’re friend adjacent. She was just thanking me for talking to her dad, getting him to ease up on her mom and call a truce. Wow. When did this happen? Uh, when we were all at the PCPD together. When the letters on your plates were transposed. Right. Uh… Ric and Alexis were going at it. It was really getting to Molly. Well, Ric and Alexis’ courtroom battles were practically legendary. Yeah, I just told him that, uh, you know, Molly really needs both of her parents right now. Seemed to do the trick. Hey, you! Kristina: Hey. I was wondering where you were. I came to say hi. I was in the back. We, uh So much inventory. It’s taking me forever. Oh? Why don’t I come help you? You know how much I love to organize. It’s my happy place. Uh, you know, we just got a new system, so it would just take you so long to figure it out. But thanks for offering. Okay. Well, if you change your mind, I can always go get my label maker. [ Both chuckle ] Well, I’m glad you could pry yourself away for a bit. Can you hang? Yeah. Sure. Let’s get her vitals. Start her on a second I.V. Lucky, y you can’t be here. You need to step outside. I promise. I won’t be in the way. I just She needs to know that I’m here. No. It’s against protocol. I’m asking you as my friend. Please. Don’t make me leave her. Lucas: We’ve got a large amount of internal bleeding. Call a Code Massive Transfusion. Call the O.R. He’s gonna need emergency surgery as soon as we get him stabilized. I don’t mean to interrupt, but I was wondering if you would like to join Cody and me at our table for a drink. My treat. Is it a special occasion? You helped Cody out of a ridiculous legal situation. I’d like to say thank you. It was just a little mistaken grand theft auto. It’s not like he tried to murder someone. [ Chuckles ] What do you say? We’d love to. Right, Krissy? Do you have time for one before inventory hell? Sure. Yeah. Mac: Look who I found. Ah! Yes! Both Davis sisters at our table. We’re either really lucky or we’re both in a lot of trouble. We’ll see. Like you said, the night is young. Mac: You know, Molly’s too modest to say this, but I was in the courtroom for an assault case she handled recently. And her cross examination had the defendant so frustrated, I thought he had assaulted her. [ Chuckles ] [ Chuckles ] It was a morning trial, and I think they found the guy guilty by lunch. Ooh. You’d be proud of her. Dispatch, we got passengers trapped in a car. Requesting the jaws of life. And we need an ambulance here now! Paramedic: Careful! He’s got a head wound! We got to use spinal precautions! Molly: Kristina? Hm? Yes. Uh, yeah. She’s amazing at, um, really everything she does. Well, I don’t know about that. Are you okay? Yeah. Just… one of those days. [ Cellphone rings ] Okay. Oh. Excuse me. Molly Lansing Davis. Hi. This is Nurse Cowan calling from General Hospital. Your father was in a car accident earlier this evening. He’s in the E.R. Oh, my God! Is he okay?! He has internal bleeding and is needing surgery. Okay. I’ll I’ll be right there. Um, my dad was in a car accident. I I need to get to the E.R. I can drive you. Yeah. Um, I I’ll come, too. Keep me posted. Yeah. Yeah. Nothing’s changed. That’s what I do. I help people. The only difference being… I do it legally and you are breaking the law. Yeah, well, sometimes that’s the only way you can get someone’s attention so that they’ll actually listen to you. I was like you. I was young, idealistic, optimistic. And those are all great qualities. But growing up, you realize that the world is complicated and every action has its own set of consequences. But growing up doesn’t mean that you abandon your principles. You never stop giving a voice to the voiceless. Tracy Quartermaine is not voiceless. Trust me. Emma: Okay, maybe she’s not. But I know that I’m not gonna sit by and watch some corrupt politician abuse his power just because he can! You know, the longer you live… the more your experience broadens your perspective. Oh, my God! And I know it’s very easy to believe at your age that you can save everyone who needs saving, but that’s not necessarily the case, especially when you are putting your future at risk. I know that you don’t mean to be condescending right now, but you are. Okay? And you’re trivializing my intentions, especially in this case. I was there tonight… because of my mom. You are hurting me! Are you getting this? Are you getting their faces? Trina: Mm hmm! My lawyers will be so happy. Yuri: Do not resist! Go limp! If I have to carry you… I could accidentally drop you. Oh, you know, every time you speak to me, my lawyers add a zero. Diane: You got that right, Tracy. Ohh! What a spectacle. Trina, you’ve recorded all of it? Trina: All of it. Excellent. That’s gonna come in very handy later. What are you doing here, Miller? Hm! Destroying the final resting place of several beloved citizens. That’s a bad look, Ezra. Even for you. And you’re you’re always used to looking bad. If you have a point, get to it. I have in my hand an official cease and desist order, so you will ask these gentlemen to unhand my client unless you want to add police brutality as the final cherry on top of the sundae of all the other laws you’re breaking. Mm hmm. Cease and desist? Yes. You read it. We’ll all watch you weep. Mnh. On whose authority? Dr. Monica Quartermaine. I know how much you love Scout. But you even said yourself that she’s been through enough. She is dealing with with the loss of her mom. That’s a wound that is far from healing. And she’s also dealing with the loss of her family as she knew it to be, with with Sam and Dante and Rocco and Danny. Which is part of the reason why I think that Wiley and Amelia are so good for her. I’m sure they’re both wonderful, but they’re not her brothers, and she misses her brothers. I mean, I’m a bit confused because I would love Scout to live with her brothers. But I I wasn’t the one in charge. It wasn’t my choice to leave the Quartermaines’ or to separate the kids. I understand. But it is your choice not to add more change to her life right now. It’s just too overwhelming at her age. Which is exactly why it’s important for her to live in a stable home with her father, filled with love and companionship. Drew, y you can’t just change out a family like you would a tie until you find the right one. Scout needs some normalcy and consistency and stability so that she can heal. Alexis, I’m really sorry that you don’t agree with this decision. I really am. But I was only telling you out of courtesy. Like, I wasn’t I wasn’t asking for permission. Willow and the kids are moving in. I’m sorry, Lucky, but you need to leave. For Elizabeth’s sake. She’s getting the very best care possible. I know, I know, but I need to be here for her. This is for Elizabeth. Okay? I’m sorry, Lucky. Please. You have to go. I’ll be right outside. Excuse me. Hi. My father was in a car accident. Ric Lansing. Where is he? I need to see him. I’ll be with you in a minute. Molly…your father is in the trauma room, and, uh, Elizabeth is is in one of the cubicles. What Elizabeth? Ric was driving. And, uh… Elizabeth was his passenger. Alexis, I know how much you love Scout, and you are so close I just want what’s best for her. Of course you do. I know that. I do, too. That’s Look. It would be so much easier for me to move to D.C. and not have to commute back and forth. But I chose to stay in Port Charles so that Scout could be close to Sam’s family. And we all appreciate that. I really thought we’d be on the same page about this. I I don’t know what else to say. These living arrangements, they’re happening. Well, I hope it goes as smoothly as you hope it will go. Have a little faith, Alexis. It’s gonna be great. [ Cellphone rings ] Excuse me. Hey. What’s up? Hi. Um, I’m at the E.R. with Molly. Ric was in a car accident, and, um, it seems like it was really bad. Alright. I’ll be I’ll be right there. I don’t understand. Why What does Robin have to do with you helping the Quartermaines? Growing up, my mom always used to tell me the story about how when I was younger, I got really, really sick, and there was that one single dose of serum that could save me. She also told me that Edward Quartermaine was sick with the same thing… but yet he insisted that I get the final dose. And he could have saved himself, but he didn’t, and instead he chose to save me. Yes. He did. Okay, well, Edward is one of the people in that crypt that Tracy is trying to protect! He is her dad! I’m not gonna watch a man who made that kind of sacrifice for me have his final resting place torn down like it’s nothing but trash, Grandma! Okay. That was a terrifying time. Come on. You know I’d be dead if it wasn’t for him, right? Yes, I do. A And I will always be very grateful for what he did. I I understand. It’s not just Edward, though. Alan Quartermaine was the doctor who told my mom that she was HIV positive. And she told me that that was the day her whole world just… …crumbled. Yeah, I know. Her life was never the same after that. No. And HIV, it was, like, this totally new and terrifying thing. And HIV drugs, they were brand new or they weren’t really available. And I think that all people knew about it was that they should be afraid. Right. Alan wasn’t. No. No, he stood by my mom’s side at a time when she didn’t really have anyone that she could count on. That is always one of my biggest regrets, that I wasn’t here for her when she needed me badly. You know that to this day my mom still tells me about how Alan was a huge reason she chose to pursue medicine? So, yeah. Yeah, if you ever want to know why I was okay with being arrested today, it’s because of Edward and Alan Quartermaine. They saved me and my mom’s lives, and they made our lives possible. And I couldn’t watch their final resting place be destroyed, Grandma. I couldn’t. There’s no use in dwelling about what happened. I know. Yeah. I just think Soliski would have been a lot more useful to us alive. Well, there’s no point in worrying about that. Soliski’s dead. Whether it was today or a week from today… he was gonna die. This man was paid a lot of money to kill me, and he wasn’t gonna stop until he succeeded. And I’ll tell you. His employer was gonna make sure of that. So the way I I see it is kind of like, uh, self defense. More importantly, it was a warning… to whoever hired him. And that message needed to be sent. I mean, the person who hired Soliski is just gonna hire somebody else. And without knowing who it is, we just have to be ready for the next attack. Yeah. There’s still a real threat out there. Sweetheart? How’s your dad? I don’t know. Nobody’s telling me anything. He’ll be alright. He’s tough. [ Sighs ] Yeah, I hope so. Because being back here, pacing around, it’s just bringing back a lot of… All the last times we were here. I know, I know, I know. I know. It’s okay. Molly. I’m so sorry to interrupt. Is there any word on your father’s condition? Uh, well, it, uh, seems this cease and desist letter is legitimate. [ Laughs ] Ezra Boyle. That’s such a tragic name. Mnh. Did you actually think that I would give you a cease and desist order that wasn’t legitimate? Look. How did Monica Quartermaine secure that order? Well… Monica struck a deal with the Port Charles Land Trust. You know, the ones that oversee the Forever Wild Preserve conservancy? The ones that border the Quartermaine property? Yes, I know what the Port Charles Land Trust is. Excellent. Well, Monica has admitted that a mistake was made when the crypt was built, and she negotiated the deal. So the Port Charles Land Trust has agreed that the crypt will stay up, provided the Quartermaines relinquish a similar sized parcel of land on the lake shore. They have, and now that piece of land is part of the conservancy. Is this a joke? There’s a big joke here, Ezra, but it’s not that. Mnh. So why don’t you take your bulldozer, your cheap suit, and your… [ Chuckles ] …really ugly tie… [ Chuckles ] …and get off my property? This isn’t over. Oh, but it is. It’s actually over, Ezra! Bye bye! [ Laughs ] I can’t believe we won. I never doubted it for a minute. Tracy, Monica has asked me to pass along a message to you. It is and I quote “The next time, just come to me first.” A simple “thank you” would have sufficed, but a win is a win. And you just won, my friend. Enjoy it. [ Diane chuckles ] Uh, what are we gonna do about Emma? Ooh, Emma has proved herself to be a very courageous young woman, but, more importantly, a friend and an ally, so I will respond in kind, starting with getting her released from prison. I’ll come with you. You want to come? Um, I have to head back to the apartment. Trina, thank you for being here. And thank you for recording every single word. [ Trina laughs ] You’re an excellent tenant. Thank you. [ Sighs ] Kai: I saw your live stream. Edgy stuff. [ Chuckles ] [ Trina chuckles ] I had no way of knowing that your reasons for protesting at the crypt today were so meaningful and so personal. I… I misjudged you. I misjudged the situation. I I’m very sorry. I know that I can be impulsive and reckless. Oh. You think? But I wasn’t this time. Okay? But… Here it comes. No, No. But… Listen. [ Chuckles ] Okay? Even though your cause was noble, the arrest still stands, and we are going to have to focus on resolving that. Okay. But, luckily, I think probably you’ll just get off with a slap on the wrist. [ Knock on door ] Yeah. Come in. Oh, hi. Hi! Uncle Mac! Hi. Did my grandma tell you I was gonna be here? There was a live stream. And word travels fast. Your mom’s not gonna be too happy with you. But I still love you. Anna, can I have a word outside, please? Yeah. Of course. Yeah. I’ll be right back. Emma: Okay. Okay, so, we just had a very adult conversation, and, um, I now understand why she was protesting at the crypt and why she chained herself and all the rest of it. But look. Emma may be trouble… but she’s kind of good trouble. I’m not sure you’ll feel the same way once you take a look at this. Molly: I don’t know anything. I don’t understand why these doctors won’t come talk to me. No one will tell me anything! Okay. Okay. May I speak to you in private? Yeah. Come on. We’re taking Elizabeth out of the E.R. and up to her room. Her spinal X rays look good, and there’s no cerebral edema, which is also good. So she’s gonna be okay? Yeah. She was very lucky. [ Sighs ] Thank God. But she does have a broken leg that’ll need surgery. And we’ll want her to regain consciousness before we operate. Okay. Okay. You need to leave. I received a call saying Ric was here. We care about each other. The two of you can’t even stand each other. I belong here more than you do. I’m here because of my daughters, who get upset every time they see you because it reminds them of their dead baby. Oh, come on. You know that wasn’t my fault! I don’t care. Be a decent human being once in your life and go worry about Ric someplace else. How’s my dad? I have some news on his prognosis. Why don’t we go sit down? Ric is gonna go through Soliski’s devices with a magnifying glass until he finds something. Um, until then, we just can’t show any weaknesses. You understand? Okay. I know I know what you’re thinking right now, and it’s It’s a bad idea, Sonny. Delaying the surgery any more is just dangerous. Fine. No. It’s not fine. Yeah, I’m fine. It’s not fine. If you die while we’re hunting some guy down, you’re gonna do the enemy’s work for them. So please stop stalling. Just get the surgery done before it’s too late. Tell you what I’m gonna do. I’m gonna give Brick a little time to give us a name off of one of Soliski’s devices. [ Sighs ] And then I’m gonna schedule my surgery. Until then, we have to keep our guards up. Just business as usual? Yes. I am not going to let anyone hurt my family. Again. What was it like when you saw Tracy Quartermaine’s face as she’s being hauled off in cuffs and the precious family crypt demolished? Yeah. I, uh, wish I could tell you. The crypt isn’t going anywhere, and your dreams of being a Quartermaine are over. Moving forward, you are legally obligated to use the name Drew Cain. What?! How the hell did Tracy manage that? Oh. Tracy didn’t. Monica did. Anna: My newfound respect for you was certainly short lived. Tracy: Emma! Your sacrifice was not in vain! We won! The Quartermaine crypt stays exactly where it is. Tracy: Ooh! Egrets? Egrets. Anna: Tracy, you will have to leave. We are in the middle of something. Is it something I can help with? Your granddaughter is a trusted ally of the Quartermaine family. I am here to secure her immediate release. I’ll pay all her legal fees. Let’s celebrate with dinner. Well, Emma isn’t going anywhere except to a jail cell downstairs until she can see a judge in the morning. Oh. That’s ridiculous. What she did doesn’t deserve more than a slap on the wrist. That would have been true… except for the fact that Emma has a number of prior arrests. Your father sustained severe head trauma in the accident, as well as internal bleeding. We managed to get him stabilized, and we’re taking him up to the O.R. to surgery. Is he Is he gonna make it? We are doing everything we can to make sure he does. Okay. You’re gonna be okay, Elizabeth. I know you’re gonna be okay. Because… you have to be. [ Monitor beeping ] I’ve been wanting to say something to you pretty much since the time I got back. I just… didn’t have the courage to say it to your face. But you have to know. I love you, Elizabeth. I fell in love with you the first day that I met you. And I need you to know that… I’m gonna love you… forever. Hey.
