Claire: Are you mom-spying? Is that what this is?
Victoria: Maybe. I am a little. Cute and healthy recipes for kids. That’s an interesting search choice.
Claire: I didn’t get a chance to tell you last night. You’re looking at harrison abbott’s new nanny.
Victoria: Oh, I am?
Claire: Summer changed her mind. She decided to give me a trial run. Hence my search for adorable snacks.
Victoria: That’s wonderful. You should be proud.
Claire: I’m really excited. Harrison’s the best and I’m really grateful for this opportunity.
Victoria: Is there something else?
Claire: It’s all a little bit nerve-wracking. Small kid means big responsibility. Summer’s been wary of me. So she’s gonna keep a very close eye on me.
Victoria: She has no reason to doubt your abilities.
Claire: I really wanna earn her trust. Make a good impression. Really just be the best nanny ever.
Victoria: You’ll be great. You will do all of that without putting so much pressure on yourself.
Claire: You’re my mother, don’t you have to say that?
Victoria: No, I mean it. Look, you’re very smart. You’re capable. Just follow your instincts. Everything will fall into place. Hello. Hi.
Cole: Hey, hey.
Victoria: Hi cole, come in, I-
Cole: Hey.
Victoria: This is a surprise.
Victor: Hi sweetheart.
Victoria: Seeing the two of you here together. Hi, good morning!
Cole: Ah, nice to see you. I’m glad you’re here, both of you.
Claire: Yeah, it’s great to see you too. But what’s up with the drop by? Is everything all right?
Victor: Have you seen your mother?
Victoria: No, not since this morning. Has something happened?
Victor: There’s some news regarding jordan.
Jack: Hi there.
Nikki: Jack, is now a bad time?
Jack: No, no, no. Come on in, come on in. I just didn’t expect to see you so soon. You look wonderful.
Nikki: Thanks. I just got back yesterday. I finished my initial treatment at the rehab facility and they approved me for outpatient care. So I’m home.
Jack: Well, that’s great news. Sounds like you’ve made real progress.
Nikki: I still have a ways to go, but I will get there.
Jack: Yes, you will. I have no doubt about it. And you look terrific. You look rested and strong and it’s all over your face.
Nikki: Well, it wasn’t easy to go away, but it was necessary. I realized that I needed more significant help.
Jack: I’m glad you made that choice for yourself.
Nikki: I didn’t get there on my own. You helped me get there. You are the reason why I am back on the right path.
Chelsea: Adam, I’m almost ready. I just have to– hi, it’s you.
Billy: It’s me.
Chelsea: What are you doing here? Oh, I’m so happy to see you. But you were away on business. I didn’t expect you back so soon.
Billy: Well, I cut my trip short because you’re more important. Wanted to see you before you head off to see connor.
Chelsea: That’s so sweet.
Billy: Mm-hmm. Thought you could use a little extra encouragement and support.
Chelsea: Well, you didn’t have to drop everything and fly home for me. We were calling and texting every day. You could’ve reassured me over the phone.
Billy: Yeah, that’s true. But I can’t do this over the phone.
Sally: Morning.
Adam: Oh, man. You just ruined my brilliant plan.
Sally: Sorry.
Adam: I was gonna bring you up coffee and pastries. Give you the breakfast in bed treatment.
Sally: Well, aren’t you just the best host? Were you able to get back to sleep last night?
Adam: Eventually, yeah. Thanks for staying up with me.
Sally: You’re worried about your son. It’s understandable.
Adam: Having you here makes things easier. With you around, everything’s better. Um, but now that you’re awake, we can have some breakfast.
Sally: Uh, wait a minute. I think we should talk about your offer. Auntie, you can’t put that right in the dishwasher. Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…
Adam: Look, about last night, I hope that I did not put too much pressure on you when I asked you to move in with me.
Sally: I mean, it is a big step.
Adam: I know. And, you know, if it’s– it’s too much pressure, I completely understand. You know, it as kinda spur the moment.
Sally: So, what are you– what are you saying? That you changed your mind? You don’t want me to live with you?
Adam: Look, I don’t know what you’re thinking. So I will just be honest with you. I do want you to move in. It’s been on my mind for a while. But first and foremost, I want you to be happy. So if this is not what you want, just say it.
Sally: Okay, okay, okay. I’m gonna put you out of your misery.
Adam: Please.
Sally: My answer is yes. I will move in with you.
Adam: You will?
Sally: Mm-hmm.
Adam: Are you sure?
Sally: Yes, yes. I’m ready. I’m ready, and– and I think it’s time.
Adam: Oh, thank god. Oh, thank god.
Billy: So how’s your head right now?
Chelsea: Uh, kind of all over the place. This is the first time we’re gonna see connor since he went to the facility. I mean, we attempted to before, but it was a complete disaster.
Billy: But he’s in a better headspace now, and he’s ready to see you in person.
Chelsea: Yeah, that’s what he says.
Billy: Great.
Chelsea: That’s what he says. And, um, the doctors agree. So we’re gonna meet with him in a controlled environment to make sure he feels safe and secure.
Billy: Sounds like a recipe for success.
Chelsea: I hope so. I’m just torn. I– part of me feels hopeful. The other part feels absolutely terrified.
Billy: Yeah. Well, you’ve been through a lot. All of you have, especially connor. And I just wanna be here to help in any way I can.
Chelsea: Well, just being here with you right now, it’s everything.
Billy: If the best thing I can do is hold your hand and tell you that you got this, then that’s what I’ll do. You got this, chels.
Nikki: We didn’t get a chance to talk before I went away about what happened in the hotel suite.
Jack: Yeah, it was one hell of a night, wasn’t it?
Nikki: Are you all right? Please tell me that you haven’t used since then.
Jack: Yeah, I’m fine. I’m fine. Honest. Gone to a few meetings, checked in with myself. No urge to take pills.
Nikki: Oh, thank god. I have gone over that night so many times. My mind, my spiral. How cruel I was to you.
Jack: Nuh-huh.
Nikki: And ultimately what you did to finally wake me up.
Jack: It was a calculated risk.
Nikki: You sacrificed your sobriety for mine.
Jack: I was desperate. I would’ve done anything to save you.
Nikki: Well, jack, what you did was very dangerous and you went too far.
Jack: Believe me, I have done my share of soul searching on that. And I’ve had to admit that my actions were too extreme. Things could’ve gone very differently.
Nikki: Oh, my god. When you passed out, it was like my whole world stopped. I– I was frozen in time. But I guess it took that to make me realize how far you had gone to bring me back from the brink.
Jack: I honestly thought I’d lost you.
Nikki: Well, what you did was the stupidest and bravest thing anybody has ever done for me.
Jack: Well, you’ve done the courageous part now. You dug deep, got yourself out of that hole. You went to rehab. You’re doing the work now.
Nikki: And I will continue to. I can’t afford to be cavalier. I’m still an alcoholic. I always will be. But I’m better than I was, thanks to you.
Jack: And this outpatient treatment’s working for you?
Nikki: So far, yes. But I still need a sponsor. I hope it’s not too much to ask that that still be you.
[]
Jack: I am here for whatever you need. You need me to be your sponsor, that’s what I will be.
Nikki: You have been my rock. I don’t know what I would do without you.
Jack: You’re one of the strongest people I know. You’re strong, you’re smart, you’re kind, you’re loyal. Is it any wonder everyone’s so devoted to you?
Nikki: Well, even though I don’t deserve it.
Jack: No, give yourself more credit than that. Every time you’re knocked down, you end up stronger.
Nikki: Thanks to you. And I am so grateful, more than you’ll ever know. Hi, victor. All right, I’ll be there soon. Bye, darling. I am needed at the ranch.
Jack: Okay, go, um… call me if you need anything.
Nikki: Thank you, jack. Thank you so much for everything.
Jack: Here.
Nikki: Ooh, diane, nice to see you.
Diane: You too, nikki. Glad you’re looking so well.
Nikki: Thank you. You two have a good day.
Jack: Well, that was a surprise. Nikki’s home. She’s in outpatient treatment.
Diane: With you as her sponsor? Why would you agree to that without talking to me first?
Jack: Because I didn’t think you would have any objection.
Diane: Oh, really? Or did you think I’d just let it slide?
Jack: Wait, diane–
Diane: No, no, the facts haven’t changed. Your role in nikki’s sobriety caused you to risk your own.
Jack: That’s the past. It won’t happen again.
Diane: That’s right, it won’T. Otherwise, you and i are going to have a problem.
Adam: I present to you your keys with a little stylish button for decoration because fashion is your thing.
Sally: Well, that is adorable. Thank you.
Adam: Mm-hmm. And if there’s something you don’t like, poof, it is gone. Okay? Bring in new pillows, lamps, whatever you like. Okay, you wanna paint? Just have at it. You want new wallpaper? Okay, fine.
Sally: I– I really don’t think that’s necessary. I really love this place as is.
Adam: Hey, I mean, I live with a designer now who has impeccable taste. So I want this place to be yours. It’s our home. Together.
Sally: Wow, I haven’t had many places I could call home.
Adam: Oh, we can build one. Welcome home, baby.
Nikki: Hey, I got here as soon as I could. What’s going on?
Victor: Hello, sweetheart. Come here. Um, there’s something I have to tell all of you. Please sit down.
Nikki: Victor, please just tell us what has happened.
Victor: I was informed by my security team that they found jordan on the banks of the garewood river. And cole was there when they told me.
Nikki: Thank god.
Victor: Apparently, she was barely breathing. In other words, she was alive.
Nikki: What?
Victoria: No, it can’t be. Well, where is she now?
Victor: They took her into custody. And apparently, she was just spewing nonsense, babbling. Taken her in for mental and physical examination.
Cole: With maximum security measures in place.
Claire: We thought we were free of her, but all this time she’s still been out there.
Victoria: Mom, are you okay?
Nikki: I had assumed that she was gone forever, that she could never be a threat to us again.
Victor: And she won’T. I don’t want you to worry about that, okay? Really, don’T.
Victoria: I’m grateful that she’s in custody, but–
Claire: But she’s found a way out before.
Cole: Well, the authorities are fully aware of the danger she’s capable of. She’s been sent to the highest maximum security prison there is.
Victor: By the way, that’s from a place that no one has ever escaped from.
Nikki: You know, there’s something very strange about this.
Victor: What?
Nikki: You said that she was chased by your men and fell into the river.
Victor: Yeah.
Nikki: So how did she survive that fall? And how did she stay alive all this time? Your heart is the beat of life.
Adam: Hey, I didn’t know you were back in town. Chelsea told me you were gone on business.
Billy: I was, but I know that you’re gonna see connor, so I wanted to be here to support chelsea.
Adam: Ah, that’s very generous of you.
Billy: Well, chelsea said that you’ve been a big support while I’ve been gone. You’ve been reasonable and steadfast and determined.
Adam: It’s a big surprise coming from me, huh?
Billy: Guess what I’m trying to say is good on you, adam.
Adam: Well, thank you. We’re gonna get through this together.
Chelsea: That’s the plan. I guess we should go, huh?
Adam: Yeah, the, uh, jet’s all fueled up.
Chelsea: Okay, please tell victor I said thank you again.
Adam: I’ll give you two a minute.
Chelsea: Oh, you know, you’re pretty wonderful, you know that?
Billy: Well, you can tell me that when you get back. Right now, you focus on your son.
Chelsea: I really believe sending him to this facility was the best thing for him. I do.
Billy: Good. You trust that feeling, okay? And just know that you’re on the right trajectory and that you need me for anything at all, let me know, okay? I’m always here for you no matter what.
Chelsea: Thank you.
Billy: Okay. Have a good flight.
Chelsea: Okay.
Victor: How did jordan survive? Well, I would say out of pure evil, as she always has.
Nikki: She should be at the bottom of the river. On second thought, drowning is too good for her. I would prefer for her to suffer.
Cole: Well, jordan will spend the rest of her life in prison with no power, no control.
Claire: Till she rallies and tries to come after us again.
Victor: It’s not gonna happen, okay? She will never bother our family again.
Nikki: I pray you’re right.
Victor: I assure you that jordan will not cause any more damage.
Chloe: Any updates?
Sally: Um, unfortunately, no.
Chloe: Well, I guess it would be a long shot to hope for victor to go along with adam’s plan to help us out. I mean, listen to me. I can’t believe I thought that victor newman would rescue us.
Sally: Chloe, this isn’t easy for me to say. But I think we have reached the end of the line.
Chloe: What? No, no, no, no, no, no. We just haven’t found a solution yet. But we will. I– I know we will. It’s– it’s there somewhere.
Sally: I don’t think so. I mean, we’ve exhausted all of our options and we’ve turned over every rock.
Chloe: Yeah, but we’ve always come across setbacks and then we always figure it out. I mean, besides, neither of us have anything lined up. So, I mean, we might as well stick it out.
Sally: That’s the thing, um… so, I’m sure that you have heard that chelsea is taking a leave of absence from marchetti.
Chloe: Yeah, yeah. Chelsea told me that she wants to spend more time with connor.
Sally: Exactly. So, adam spoke with chelsea and chelsea’s gonna put in a word with summer for me to see if I can take over for her while chelsea is gone in the interim.
Chloe: Oh, wow, um… okay, so you didn’t think to maybe have a discussion with me first about this, your partner?
Sally: It all happened so fast. I– I reached out to you as soon as I could.
Chloe: Okay, so did summer make you an offer?
Sally: No, and– and she probably won’T. I mean, she doesn’t like me with good reason. So, she probably doesn’t want me to be the creative director.
Chloe: It’s possible, though. Or we wouldn’t be having this conversation.
Sally: Look, the role would be temporary just until chelsea feels ready to come back.
Chloe: But if summer offered it to you, you would take it and leave me behind. Oh. Wait, what’s– what’s with the bag?
Sally: I am moving in with adam.
Chloe: I’m sorry, I just– this day just keeps getting better and better.
Billy: Hey, mom.
Jill: Billy, where are you?
Billy: Uh, I’m at the office. I– I got back into town just now. What’s going on?
Jill: Uh, I should’ve made it clear that this is a personal conversation.
Billy: Okay, I’m sorry. I didn’t know. I just– I wanted to get back to you as soon as possible.
Jill: Are devon and lily around?
Billy: No, they’re in a meeting. They actually don’t know that I’m back yet. We have privacy, if that’s what you’re asking. Is everything all right?
Jill: There’s something you need to know. It ain’t my dad’s razor, dad.
Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.
Jack: Clearly, I’ve upset you. That was never my intention.
Diane: I have tried to make the best of this situation between you and nikki. And I had concerns when you first agreed to be her sponsor, but I kept my mouth shut because I know how important it is to you.
Jack: Nikki is one of my oldest and dearest friends. I want to help her.
Diane: And you have made that perfectly clear. Even though you know how hard it was for me to accept that you put your life in danger for her. Jack, you took pills and you could’ve died. All because you were trying to save nikki.
Jack: That was one moment, one night.
Diane: No, no. She takes up so much of your time and energy. And– and I have tried to be the bigger person, but you are making this very difficult for me.
Jack: That was never my intention.
Diane: No, it’s too much. You gambled with your addiction and you could’ve died. Why? Why would you take that chance again?
Jack: You saw nikki just now. She’s doing better. She is. She’s stronger. She’s more herself. I saw it.
Diane: Well, I’m glad she went to rehab and I’m glad she’s improving. That’s wonderful. But there’s no guarantee it’ll stay that way.
Jack: No, I think it’s gonna be different this time.
Diane: Yeah, but what if it’s not? What if she slips? What are you going to do? Are you gonna call up your dealer and risk everything to pull her back from the edge again?
Jack: No, I have promised you that’s not going to happen again. I just finished telling nikki my actions were extreme.
Diane: But in your mind it worked, right? You accomplished your goal. You got nikki to wake up and set herself straight.
Jack: I can’t say I am disappointed with how it turned out.
Diane: That’s fine. But as your wife, you need to know what your decision to be her sponsor again is doing to me. Because I don’t know if it’s something I can live with.
Victoria: Is there anything else that we don’t know?
Victor: No, my darling, you know everything that’s important. So, as far as I’m concerned, you’re all safe.
Claire: Thank you, grandpa.
Victor: I’m sorry, but there’s something I need to take care of. My darling, you need me, you call, okay?
Nikki: Oh, I’ll be fine. Don’t worry.
Victor: My baby. Okay, you two.
Victoria: Bye, dad.
Victoria: So, you were with dad when he got the news about jordan. Did you see her alive?
Cole: I did.
Claire: How was she?
Cole: She looked weak, worn out, just a shell of her former self.
Claire: I guess after everything she went through, being in the river for that long.
Nikki: Do you think she could’ve been faking?
Cole: No, no, no. She, uh, she was definitely broken, defeated. It was over.
Claire: I can’t even picture her defeated. But I guess she brought it on herself.
Cole: The bottom line is that none of you should be afraid. We don’t need to worry about her anymore.
Victoria: You know, every time that we think that jordan is out of our lives, she proves us wrong. She escaped from prison, she escaped from the hospital, and now somehow she’s cheated death?
Cole: Well, I totally understand your fears. I would feel the same way if I hadn’t seen her myself. My aunt will never harm anyone again.
Billy: Mom, what’s going on? Is– is everything okay?
Jill: I’ve, um, had some issues with my health. You know, little things. You know, like my heart beating too fast and difficulty in breathing. Just some lightheadedness.
Billy: Okay. Well, that’s a little worrisome given your heart attack you had a few years ago.
Jill: Yeah, I felt the same way. So I went to the doctor and, um… and there are some complications, billy.
Billy: Okay. What does that mean exactly?
Jill: I don’t wanna get into it.
Billy: Okay, well, you’re gonna have to give me something, all right? Because you’re telling me that– that you’re not well and I don’t know what to do, so–
Jill: I’m in london now with snapper and he’s overseeing my treatment.
Billy: Okay. Well, that’s good. Um… I mean, is this serious, mom? I just have to take it easy and avoid stress. Honestly, snapper is being as irritating as hell. He’s just hovering over me like a mother hen.
Billy: Okay, well, it sounds like he’s being a good brother. Um, I mean, is this– is there a significant risk here?
Jill: Well, if I’m not careful, things could get worse. Yeah, they could… get much worse, but I am not going to let that happen.
[Billy sighs]
Billy: You know, when you told me that you were stepping away, I thought something was up because that doesn’t sound like you. I got a bad feeling in my gut.
Jill: Oh, for god’s sake, your gut doesn’t know anything. Nothing is gonna happen to me. I won’t let it. Darling, don’t you get sentimental or scared on me. You hear?
Billy: Yeah, I hear you. Um, is this the type of situation that has a prognosis?
Jill: I won’t bore you with the opinions of others or statistics. Just know this, my son. I am confident that I can take this on.
“The darkness of bipolar
depression made me feel like
Victoria: You know, there is nothing online about jordan being found, at least not yet.
Claire: I should tell summer and kyle about this. Don’t you think they should– they should know, for harrison’s sake?
Victoria: Mom, claire has some wonderful news. Kyle and summer have hired her to be harrison’s nanny.
Nikki: Really? How wonderful.
Cole: Congratulations, sweetheart. Well deserved.
Claire: It’s just a trial for now. Today’s actually my first day.
Nikki: Ah, I’m so happy for you. And harrison is a lucky little boy.
Claire: Well, I was really excited about it before, but now with this news about jordan, I…
Cole: Hey, don’t let that ruin your excitement.
Nikki: This is quite an accomplishment for you. Savor this moment. It’s the beginning of a whole new chapter for you.
Chloe: Well, this is unbelievable. How long has this been in the works with you and adam?
Sally: He just asked me to move in yesterday. But this feels like the next step for us.
Chloe: Swell.
Sally: Look, we all know how you feel about him, but this really feels like a good thing.
Chloe: Fine. Fine, I… I’m not going to say anything about adam. I’m not gonna warn you off of him ’cause we know how that has worked before. So I, um, I hope that your living arrangement is not awful.
Sally: Thank you.
Chloe: Okay, but, I’m sorry, but I just need to be a little selfish right now. So if our company goes under and you go to marchetti, what happens to me?
Sally: We will figure something out. I won’t leave you in the lurch.
Chloe: Well, sorry, honey, but you already have. I mean, I don’t know if I can go to marchetti. I burned that bridge with summer when I quit.
Sally: Yes, but if I am the creative director, I will fight for you. You are an asset to any company.
Chloe: I mean, do I even wanna go back there? It wasn’t a good fit.
Sally: But maybe it’ll be the perfect fit if I’m there.
Chloe: You don’t even know if you have the job. So if our company dissolves… I’m sorry, but I can’t base my whole future on hypotheticals.
Sally: Yeah, I understand.
Chloe: And have you even talked to nick? I mean, does he– does he know that he might lose his entire investment?
Sally: Not yet, but I will. Look, I will get all of this sorted.
Chloe: Have you thought this through at all? Have you seriously considered that you are going to throw away a company, the one that we have built from the ground up?
Sally: We’re still a team, chloe. That doesn’t need to change.
Chloe: No! No, if this is happening, then I’m on my own.
Billy: I’ll never doubt your ability to pummel anything into submission, including heart disease.
Jill: Correct answer.
Billy: Okay, so what do we do now?
Jill: Just keep this to yourself. I don’t want anyone else to know.
Billy: Yeah, of course, but what else? I mean, I know you’re there with– with snapper, but I’ll come and see you. I can leave tonight.
Jill: Don’t be stupid, sweetheart. You need to stay put and manage the company.
Billy: Mom, that doesn’t matter right now, okay? You’re the most important thing, and you’re telling me that you’re not well.
Jill: I’m well enough, thank you. And it’s far too messy there for you to just walk away. Your job is to protect chancellor-winters from outside threats. Protect its legacy, billy.
Billy: Yeah, I can do that. But I’m not gonna do it for chancellor’s legacy, okay? I’m gonna protect the abbott legacy. Your legacy. With moderate to severe plaque psoriasis,
Jill: I’m glad you understand the importance. Look out for the company. I need you fully on board.
Billy: I won’t let you down.
Jill: Oh, and let’s be clear. This is not forever. I will be back. And when I am, I expect to find the company stronger than ever with you in charge and mamie gone.
Billy: I got this.
Jill: I’m counting on you.
Billy: Well, just promise me that you’re gonna keep me in the loop, okay? You let me know about your treatment. Okay? You can promise me that, right? And, uh, you need me, you just let me know and I’ll– I’ll come see you.
Jill: Thank you. I’m proud of you, billy. And I love you, my son.
Billy: I love you too, mom. You don’t worry about this place, okay? Because I’m just getting started. You ain’t seen nothing yet.
Sally: I swear, we will work something out. I won’t leave you behind.
Chloe: You’re on your own track. Totally separate from mine. You’ve got adam and a potential job with summer and you don’t need me.
Sally: That is not true.
Cloe: So, um, I guess this partnership is considered over, right? Well, thank you for the opportunity. Um, really, it’s been great. This has been fun.
Sally: Chloe, please!
Chloe: No, really. It’s no hard feelings. Okay, I wish you the best with adam. And, um, I sincerely hope he doesn’t break your heart.
Jack: Look, I realize you’re upset. I’m just telling you this is a non-issue.
Diane: You’re not hearing me, jack. I don’t even understand why this is up for debate. You shouldn’t be nikki’s sponsor. And I would think that the professionals at her rehab would’ve told her that.
Jack: Nikki is free to choose her own sponsor.
Diane: Oh, right. And she chooses you. And– and you feel justified in continuing because your stupid plan worked and no one died this time.
Jack: Do you think I’m choosing nikki over you? That is not what this is.
Diane: What am I supposed to think? When– when you’ve chosen to be her sponsor again, when you know how I feel about it.
Jack: I am torn. I– I do not wanna let you down. But you’re asking me to abandon a lifelong friend. It’s not an obligation I can easily walk away from.
Diane: Jack, I don’t think I can get past this. And I don’t think you realize how serious I am. This is about trust. This is about our relationship. This is about our marriage. And you and I are, we’re looking at things so differently right now in a way that I never, ever expected. And I don’t know how we’re going to survive this.
Cole: Where do you want these?
Victor: Uh, put them there for the time being.
Cole: You sure about this?
Victor: Well, cole, we have no other choice, you know.
Cole: We did the right thing, victor.
Victor: Yeah. All right. Let’s go. We lock this down here.
