Sharon: He has faith, nick. He has our baby.

Nick: We’re gonna get her back, all right? It’s gonna be okay. We’ll get her home safe and sound.

Sharon: He… he… he wants to meet me at the motel. Same room. Midnight.

Nick: That is not happening. I will go in your place.

Sharon: He wants me alone. I have to go, nick. It’s the only way.

Nick: Why would I ever allow you to go and meet up with him on your own?

Sharon: Because this.

Lily: Hey. What’s going on?

Daniel: Oh, nothing. Just sitting here trying to enjoy an adult beverage and contemplating life’s mysteries.

Lily: Okay, well you sounded really upset on the phone. Is everything okay? Is it– is it phyllis?

Daniel: It’s always phyllis.

Lily: What happened? I mean, I knew you were afraid that she was gonna get arrested. Did she get arrested?

Daniel: No. Not yet. But I am afraid that the next time I see my mom or my sister, they’ll both be behind bars.

Summer: Oh. I thought I heard kyle come in.

Diane: No, just me.

Summer: Uh, well, I’m sure that he’s already told you, but I… I want you to hear it from me too. It’s– it’s true. I’ve known that my mom is alive for… a while now, so. Go ahead. Let me have it. I know that you want to.

Diane: I’ve already forgiven you.

Kyle: All of the times that you ran off without an explanation, and lame ones at best, you were going to see phyllis, weren’t you? When were you going to tell me what you’ve been hiding? What the hell, summer? You lied about something that directly affected all of our lives for months. How could you do that? You could have cleared my mother’s name and set her free. You could have gotten her out of that god awful place, but instead, you decided to sit back and do nothing!

Summer: Kyle, you gotta believe me. I was trying to figure out how to keep both of our moms out of prison. I only kept quiet to buy time. To bring my mom home safely. That’s it.

Kyle: No, I am sorry, summer. I can’t accept your justifications. You were only thinking about you and your mother.

Summer: No, I was– I was trying to do what was right for everyone.

Kyle: No, stop, stop, stop. You have to own up to your actions here. You weren’t just sitting back and watching my mother suffer. You watched me suffer.

Summer: I was suffering lying to you, kyle. It was torture for me.

Kyle: No, and you were so damn good at it. You lied repeatedly to my face!

Audra: Is that seat taken? Want to get him involved.

Nick: I’m gonna go this motel and rip cameron apart with my bare hands.

Sharon: Nick, we need to think this through. This is cameron. You know how careful we need to be.

Nick: This psychopath has kidnapped our daughter. She is bound and gagged and probably terrified out of her mind. I need to go and pound him into the ground until he gives us our daughter back alive and well!

Sharon: You cannot go charging over there like a bull in a china shop! You might put faith in more danger!

[ Door knocking ]

Victor: Sharon, this is victor.

Nick: You’re right. I’m not going to go alone. I’ll get dad’s security team to back me up.

Sharon: I thought you didn’t want to get him involved.

Nick: We need all the help we can get. Dad, I’m glad you’re here.

Victor: What happened?

Nick: I need your help.

Victor: With what?

Nick: Cameron has faith.

Victor: What?

Nick: Let me see the phone.

Victor: How did this happen? With all the security I provided, how did this happen?

Nick: We’ll worry about that later. Right now, we need to focus on getting faith back. Will your security team provide me with some backup?

Victor: Of course. I’ll get you an army to get her back. How the hell did this happen?

Sharon: Okay, stop it, the both of you. You cannot go storming over there all fired up for battle. That could be the most dangerous thing you would do. Do– you read his message. I need to be the one to go. I have got to be the one to face cameron. Alone. Gala.

Kyle:

Audra: Kyle, right? Audra charles. We met at the gala.

Kyle: Uh, yeah. You’re the one who found my phone. Thanks again.

Audra: Yeah, I wasn’t sure if you’d remember, considering everything.

Kyle: Seems like a lifetime ago.

Audra: Yeah, I can imagine your memories of that night are pretty difficult given what happened to your wife’s mother, or should I say, didn’t happen. Rumors of her demise were greatly exaggerated. I guess it depends on what rumors you want to believe.

Kyle: Mm. Well, I would normally advise you not to believe any rumors, but… in this case, they might all be true.

[ Nick sighing ]

Audra: So, phyllis summers faked the whole thing and is actually alive?

Kyle: I’m sorry, audra. You seem very nice, but I’m not in the business of discussing my personal life with total strangers.

Audra: Oh. I get it. Though, in my experience, sometimes it’s a total stranger you most need to talk to. Their perspective is so much clearer. It’s not prejudiced with preconceived notions about a person or a situation. It’s no judgement. It’s kind of like with bartenders, you know? People will tell them everything because they’re just there to innocently listen.

Kyle: Well, that’s very kind of you, but I think I’m just gonna–

Audra: I promise I’m a very good listener.

Summer: Uh, maybe you haven’t heard the whole story.

Diane: Are you trying to talk me out of forgiving you?

Summer: No. I just think that once you know everything, you might regret your decision.

Diane: Why don’t you tell me the whole story? What is it that you think I don’t know about yet?

Summer: Look, I know that keeping this secret has really hurt kyle and you, of course. I could have gotten the charges against you dropped way sooner, but I didn’T. Instead, I ch– chose to protect my mom at your expense.

Diane: I’m well aware of that.

Summer: And what? You’re– you’re okay with what I did?

Diane: No. No, no, no. No. You let me sit in jail with my life hanging in the balance over utterly false charges. I am not okay with that. But, I do understand why you did it.

Summer: You do.

Diane: Yes. I realize that you were put into an impossible situation with no easy solution. Trust me, summer. I’m not playing games here. This is how I feel and I’ll even take it a step further. I’m going to do everything in my power to convince kyle to forgive you too.

Summer: You would do that? After everything that has happened? Wow. Thanks, diane.

Diane: Oh, no thanks necessary. I really– I really can’t stand to see you and kyle torn apart over this, and god knows you shouldn’t be blamed for something that was clearly not your fault.

Summer: It’s all my fault. I’m responsible.

Diane: Well, yes, but we all know that phyllis manipulated you into keeping you quiet. I mean, it was her psychotic plan that caused all this trouble in the first place, so if anyone is to blame–

Summer: Okay, hold on, diane. Please, please, do not turn this into an attack against my mom.

Nick: There’s no way I’m letting you face this bastard on your own.

Victor: Sharon, think about it for a moment. This is too dangerous. He may be setting a trap for you.

Sharon: I don’t doubt that it is a trap.

Nick: Wait, you realize that, but you’re still willing to walk right into his web?

Sharon: He has faith and we have no idea where. It terrifies me to think what he might do to her. He might have somebody else watching her, just waiting for a word to do her harm and I know that he’s thought this through. Every angle. He’ll have taken precaution.

Nick: Then we do the same.

Sharon: He’s methodical in his madness and we cannot take that risk with faith’s life.

Nick: Still, I just– I cannot fathom the idea of you being alone with him.

Victor: I agree with nicholas, but if you do– I think it’s an insane idea, but if you do, you’ve got to arm yourself.

Sharon: That could be the trigger that sets him off. We have to got to be careful not to push him to go to a more dangerous place. He’s already delusional enough to think that I might fall in love with him. Nick, isn’t that what he said to you?

Nick: Yeah, and I actually think that he believed it.

Sharon: All right. If that’s the case, and he is that delusional to think that we could be together and we have some future together, cameron is not planning on hurting me, but that wouldn’t be true of anybody else who goes after him… which means that I am the only one who has the power to control the situation.

Sometimes, the lows

of bipolar depression

Daniel: Right?

Lily: Thank you.

Daniel: Honestly, I don’t know what to do. Summer’s desperate to keep mom out of prison and she’s willing to go to any lengths necessary.

Lily: Well, it sounds like summer. And your mom.

Daniel: Right? The problem is, summer wants me to help her do it.

Lily: Do what? Try and keep your mom out of prison? I mean, you can’t turn back time. What’s done is done.

Daniel: Exactly. Meanwhile, mom wants me to do whatever it takes to keep summer out of it.

Lily: Well, how are you supposed to do that?

Daniel: I don’t know. I don’t know. Maybe she’ll finally do the right thing.

[ Lily chuckling ]

Lily: Well, why would she start now?

Daniel: It’s a good point. Especially if it means turning herself in. I can’t see that happening. In fact, it’s the opposite.

Lily: What do you mean?

Daniel: Mom is on the run again. So, even if I wanted to turn her in, I can’t now.

[ Lily sighing ]

Lily: Daniel, I’m really sorry you’re stuck in the middle of this.

Daniel: Hm.

Lily: But to be honest with you, as someone who’s actually been to prison, it might not hurt for phyllis to do some time.

Diane: Summer, I’m not attacking phyllis. I just think it’s clear who’s to blame for the nightmare we’ve all been going through.

Summer: I agree. It is clear. This was all a part of stark’s master plan. He’s the one who started all of this trouble to begin with.

Diane: Well, I guess, technically, that’s true.

Summer: You know what? If you wanna go all the way back to try to place blame, how did we even hear stark’s name in the first place? I think it was you that brought him into our lives, diane.

Diane: Oh, wait a minute. I’m not the one who invited him to town.

Summer: But you’re the one who had history with him. You’re the one that burned him. Everything is unintended consequences.

Diane: Unintended consequences? Summer. Summer, we’re getting way off track here. Yes, this plan was the work of jeremy stark, but he could not have faked phyllis’ death without her full participation and it is naive to think that your mother is somehow innocent in all of this.

Summer: No, my mom didn’t do any of this on her own. She was coerced and threatened and maybe even blackmailed into doing what she did.

Diane: Is that what phyllis is telling you? That she was blackmailed into that performance at the gala?

Summer: Diane, you were the one who brought stark to town and maybe you didn’t commit murder, but you’re not innocent and I’m not ever gonna let myself forget that.

[ Diane sighing ]

Nick: All right, sharon. All right. If you insist with on meeting with cameron alone, you’re gonna take some precautions.

Sharon: Like what?

Nick: First, you’re gonna go in there with some backup and that includes me.

Sharon: He said to come alone, nick. Cameron said.

Nick: No. We will keep our distance so we don’t alert cameron. Your team can manage that, right, dad?

Victor: One second. I just found the number of a special ops guy whose specialty is rescue missions.

Nick: All right. Set it up. Let’s go.

Victor: I’ll call him right now.

Nick: Thanks, dad.

Victor: Sharon… thank you. You’re risking your life to save my granddaughter. I’ll never forget it.

Nick: Takes a lot of courage to do what you’re doing. I still hate this plan, but cameron is crazy. He’s already in your head, he’s got our daughter’s life in his hands. He knows where you’re most vulnerable.

Sharon: Of course I’m vulnerable where my child is concerned. I’m so afraid for her right now, I could scream. I know first hand what cameron is capable of. It’s taken everything inside of me not to fall apart. And the thought of facing him again? Makes me sick to my stomach, but I don’t have time for that, nick.

[ Sniffling ] Our baby doesn’t have time.

Audra: Something like tha

Audra: Thank you.

Kyle: So… you wanna be my bartender, audra?

Audra: Something like that.

Kyle: Well, I have simone over there, who is an actual bartender and she makes the perfect old fashioned and I have to say, she’s probably a much more innocent listener than you are.

Audra: Oh. What are you getting at, hm?

Kyle: I’m just a little weary. I don’t know what you’re really after.

Audra: You don’t think it’s possible that I’m just a sounding board? Someone you can talk to who won’t judge?

Kyle: Hm. I get the feeling I should keep my guard up around you. From what I’ve heard, you have ambitions.

Audra: Oh, wow, kyle. Some people say that my ambitions are my best quality.

Kyle: Well, that may be, but I don’t know if I can confide in an ultra achiever like yourself. I’ve heard you’ll do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Audra: Hm. You heard things about me? I’m flattered. But you’re right. I do consider myself an achiever. I’ve successfully made a mark for myself wherever I’ve gone.

Kyle: Including with my brother-in-law, noah newman.

Audra: Brother-in-law.

Kyle: Hm.

Audra: Right. Uh… that’s all in the past now. You know, he’s moved on and found happiness and I moved on as well.

Kyle: But have you found happiness?

Audra: Have you? Hm. You look like you are carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders.

Kyle: How about this? I finish my drink and you talk while I listen?

Audra: I’m game. What do you want me to talk about? Look, I am well versed in a variety of topics. Some important and weighty, and some just downright ridiculous.

[ Kyle laughing ]

Kyle: Well, how about you tell me more about yourself?

Audra: Okay.

Kyle: How did you end up here in genoa city?

Audra: Since you asked, um, I came here working for tucker mccall until I zigged to a brief stint with chancellor-winters. And then, I zagged to newman media where I found my true self working with nate hastings. I think I found my home there.

Kyle: So, ultra achiever, where do you go from newman media?

Audra: Well, I’m happy where I’m at, but I’ll see what opportunities present themselves. Ambition is not a dirty word to me, kyle.

[ Kyle chuckling ] In fact, you know, I think, um, some people are afraid of their own desires. It’s like… they’re ashamed to admit how badly they want something.

Kyle: Are you sure we’re still talking about jobs?

Audra: Mm. You tell me.

Mariah: Thank you so much. Hi, summer. You know, I was actually hoping to run into you. I was wondering if you got the bouquet that tessa and I sent? The flowers for phyllis’ memorial?

Summer: Yeah. They were beautiful, thanks.

Mariah: So, what do you do now? Now, do you just send all those flowers back to people? Because it was all a big lie? Or… what happens?

Summer: Mariah, I really just wanted to get some chamomile tea without all the attitude, so if I could just do that, please.

Mariah: Oh, yeah. No, I can’t see that happening, but you can take this with your chamomile. What in the hell were you thinking?

Summer: I’m not in the mood for this right now.

Mariah: You know, I’ve never had an especially high opinion of you, but even I was surprised that you could keep phyllis’ secret, knowing how deeply it would affect diane and kyle.

Summer: You know what? What would you have done if sharon was the one that needed protecting? Especially after you went the trauma of thinking that you lost her forever? Yeah, it’s really easy to judge when you haven’t been through it yourself.

Mariah: I suppose if sharon had been the one that I thought I lost forever, then yes, I would do anything to keep her safe and close.

Summer: Okay. Exactly. That’s– that’s exactly what I did. I’m glad that you see my point of view.

Mariah: I– I can see it, but I still do not agree with what you did.

Summer: Can I ask you a question? And depending on the answer, I might ask you a favor.

Nick: We are going to get faith back. I promise you that. She’s gonna be fine.

Sharon: I know she will. She has to be. Nothing will happen to her and we’ll have her home in no time, right?

[ Door knocking ]

Nick: Who’s there?

Chance: Chance. Hey.

Nick: Hey.

Chance: What’s wrong? Did something happen?

Sharon: It’s faith.

Nick: Cameron has her.

Sharon: He’s demanding that I meet him at the motel we met at years ago and to come alone.

[ Chance exhaling ]

Chance: Okay. Thank you for not keeping this from me. You guys can’t handle this on your own.

Nick: We have to find her.

Sharon: Our poor baby. She must be terrified. Please tell me you can help us find her.

Chance: I did find something at the athletic club. Kirsten left behind a satchel with some papers inside of it, one of which was a deed to some property on the outskirts of town.

Nick: What kind of property?

Chance: It’s an old, abandoned garage off birchwood.

Sharon: And he owns the building?

Chance: According to the deed.

Nick: Which means that he has had this plan in the works for quite a while. And that property is very close to the motel where he wants to meet up with sharon.

Sharon: So, what do you think? Is that where he’s keeping faith?

Daniel: So, you think

Daniel: So, you think my mother should go to jail?

Lily: I just think that it might benefit phyllis to have some time alone to face the consequences of her actions and realize how much she’s hurt the people she loves.

Daniel: You’ve seen the inside of a cell, but she could be looking at decades.

Lily: I know. I know that my experience was short, but it changed my life. It gave me a completely different perspective on things.

Daniel: Yeah, lily, but prison. I mean, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone, much less my own mother.

Lily: I know, I know. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying it’s amazing, right? Like, obviously it’s hard. I mean, there were days that I wasn’t sure I was gonna make it through, but I did and I came out a better person for it.

Daniel: You were kind of an okay person before that.

Lily: Look. I know that my experience is the exception to the rule, okay? I know that not everyone comes out of prison saying, you know, “oh, that was amazing. I learned so much.” But I did. And you know what? It might be good for phyllis to get a different perspective on things. To see women who are facing struggles much harder than she is, right? Far harder than “I’m living in a town with somebody that I hate.”

[ Daniel sighing ]

Mariah: So, you wanna ask me for a favor. What kind?

Summer: Uh, I assume that kyle has vented to you about how upset he is with me.

Mariah: Mm-hmm. For the record, he was far more gracious than I would’ve been were I in his shoes.

Summer: That’s nice to hear that he’s not publicly trashing me, but I know that privately, he is livid.

Mariah: Are you about to ask me what I think?

Summer: I’m not gonna speculate what goes on in your head.

Mariah: I hope you’re not expecting me to take phyllis’ side in all of this because actually, I encouraged kyle to go to the police with everything that he knows, so.

Summer: No, I don’t– I don’t expect that. I just want to know if… if you’re on my side, mine and kyle’s as a couple.

Mariah: Ooh.

Summer: Mariah, do you still believe all of those loving and supportive things that you said at our vow renewal? Do you believe that we belong together?

Mariah: I see where you’re going with this. You want me to convince kyle to forgive you. Are you serious, summer? I mean, you’ve– you’ve gotta be kidding me. Are you willing to take accountability for any of your actions? That’s actually incredible impressive.

[ Summer exhaling ]

Summer: This was a mistake. I should not have tried to talk to you. Obviously, you’re never gonna see me any differently than how you always have.

Kyle: Thanks, audra.

Audra: For what? I don’t remember doing anything.

Kyle: For giving me something else to think about other than my own problems for a little while.

Audra: You certainly pulled a fast one. I have to admire that.

Kyle: How so?

Audra: Well, you got me talking about myself when I was trying to get you to do the same. Maybe next time.

Kyle: Maybe.

Audra: But, if I was able to cheer you up, even a little bit, I’ll consider the night a success.

Kyle: Well, then. Congratulations. Have a good rest of your night.

Audra: And you do the same.

Sharon: Right there. There’s a pile of tires. That’s where she is. He’s keeping her there. It’s the garage on birchwood.

Nick: Where’d you say you found that bag at cameron’s?

Chance: In his room, behind the sofa. Why? What are you thinking?

Nick: It’s too convenient. It’s too easy.

Sharon: Another trap?

Nick: It’s possible, but somebody does need to go to check this place out, just in case faith is there.

Chance: I’m on it. I’ll take a small team with me. You two need to stay put, okay? Do not go to that motel. It’s too dangerous and you don’t know what he has waiting in there for you. I sent that picture to myself. I’ll let you know what I find.

Sharon: Thanks, chance.

Nick: Yes. We appreciate everything we’re doing to find our girl.

Sharon: What if she’s not there?

Nick: And if you don’t show up like cameron demanded?

Sharon: We can’t take the chance that something happens to our daughter.

Nick: I agree.

Sharon: Are you thinking what I’m thinking?

Nick: Oh, we’re going to that motel. To be this uny

Mariah: No. No, no, no. No, you’re not– you’re not gonna do that to me, okay? You’re not gonna turn this around on me and paint me to be this unyielding and stubborn person who doesn’t cut people a break. That’s not me.

Summer: Come on, mariah. You’ve been stubborn and unyielding since the day I met you.

Mariah: Summer, I will be the first person to admit that you have matured in a lot of ways. For one, you and kyle, you were both so happy before all of this. And for another, I really admire what an amazing mother you are to harrison.

Summer: Thanks for that.

Mariah: But as much as you’ve grown up, you’re still your mother’s daughter. You still have that same streak of selfish recklessness and I’m sorry, but I don’t know that you’re ever gonna be able to convince me that you are good enough for kyle.

Summer: Wow. You know, you really shouldn’t agree to officiate a vow renewal if you truly despite the bride that much.

Mariah: No, no, I didn’t say that. I don’t despise you, summer, and I was truly hoping that your marriage would work out.

Summer: What are you saying? That it’s not gonna work out? That my marriage is over?

Mariah: Summer, oh… my goodness. You really need to take a very hard look at what you have done. You have deceived kyle. You chose your mother over everyone else. You left his mother sitting in a jail cell. You’ve hurt them both so much.

[ Summer sighing ]

Summer: I guess I can forget that favor.

Mariah: Yeah, but I will– I will give you a different one.

Summer: What’s that?

Mariah: Advice. Just give kyle the time that he needs. After what you did, it is going to take a lot to earn his forgiveness, as it should be. And I don’t know if you will ever be able to earn his trust again. And you would have no one to blame for that but yourself.

[ Mariah sighing ]

Nick: We should head to the motel. If chance calls and says they have faith, then we’ll come right back home. But if not? We stick to our original plan. We go. Dad’s security team and I will be right behind you. Then, we go in there and we take cameron out and we bring our daughter home alive.

Sharon: We have to do this. We have no other choice, right?

Nick: No, we don’t, but I want you to take one more precaution. If you’re gonna face cameron alone, I don’t want you to go in there completely unarmed.

Summer: Hi. You’re home.

Nick: All right. This’ll work.

Sharon: A knife? Nick, I can’t meet cameron wielding that in my hand.

Nick: That’s why we’re gonna keep it hidden and tape it to your leg.

Sharon: My leg?

Nick: Yes, sharon. You need something to defend yourself with.

Sharon: You’re right. I guess I do need something in case he snaps and loses it again.

Nick: It’s not gonna come to that, all right? This is just a precaution. It’s a last resort. My dad’s security team and i will be there. He’s not gonna lay a finger on you. Have a seat. Now, hold that right there. All right. How’s that feel?

Sharon: FinE.

Nick: It’s not too uncomfortable?

Sharon: No, it’s fine. I’m prepared to do whatever it takes to get our baby back.

Daniel: I appreciate your opinion on the situation and with all due respect, I have taken everything you’ve said to heart, but whatever does happen, I really hope it doesn’t come down to prison for my mom or my sister.

Lily: Yeah, no, you’re… you’re right. You’re right. I mean, honestly, I– I actually hope so too. I just– maybe… maybe I was just rationalizing in case it does come to that.

Daniel: Mm. Sure. And if it does, you can always point back to this conversation and say, “ah, remember. There are advantages to being a prisoner.”

Lily: I’m really sorry.

Daniel: Don’t apologize. It’s actually kind of thoughtful, in a perverse sort of way.

Lily: Oh, god.

[ Daniel sighing heavily ] Is there anything I can do to help? Honestly, just name it.

Daniel: No. No. I’m at a loss trying to figure out what I can even do. It just feels like the whole situation is spiraling out of control. Today, I went to my brother-in-law to try and convince him to not to give up on summer, but even kyle wouldn’t listen to me, you know. Just… the whole situation just seems uncertain. For all of us.

Summer: You– you should’ve seen harrison tonight. He was so cute. I was reading him bumpy the camel and he kept on stopping me so that he could read it to me. He’s heard that story so many times, he knows it by heart.

Kyle: Sorry I missed that.

Summer: You know, that kind of memorization, it’s the first step to reading, so we should guide him in that direction. I could buy him so beginner reading books.

Kyle: That’s a good idea.

Summer: Kyle, I’ve been thinking a lot and I have a lot of things I wanna say. Could we talk now?

[ Kyle sighing ]

Kyle: Not tonight.

Nick: I believe in you.

Sharon: And I believe that you will be my back up and make sure that nothing happens.

Nick: Absolutely.

Sharon: Okay, I have to think about how I’m gonna handle him. Maybe I could just get him to tell me where faith is, but if he seems tense or angry, I’m just gonna remain calm and strong and try not to get emotional.

Nick: All right. I’m gonna run up to the main house and talk to dad and the security team. Just make sure they know they have to do everything as discreetly as possible. We’ll leave from the back service exit. Meet me behind the house in ten minutes.

[ Sharon sighing ]

Cameron: Hi, sharon.

[ Sharon gasping ]

Cameron: Everybody’s gone. It’s just you and me.
