Lily: Thank you.

Devon: Thank you very much.

Jill: Wait just one second here. You two are talking? To each other? This is very unexpected.

Lily: I know. I think we both just realized that when two people think they’re right, they stop listening.

Devon: And so I decided to pay attention to what lily was actually asking of me. And I did what I knew our dad would want me to do if he were here.

Lily: And I think we both realized, too, that we were heading down a path where we were really damaging our relationship.

Devon: Yeah. And family is way too important for that. So, as of tonight, I am no longer fighting the merger and I’m going to drop the suit.

Jill: Oh, my god. This is incredible. Oh, I’m so relieved. You know what? We need a special bottle of bubbly. What do you say we send somebody down the cellar and we’ll get a really great vintage?

Devon: Maybe we hold off on that for now.

Jill: What aren’t you telling me?

Lily: Well, he’s dropping the lawsuit, you know.

Devon: Yeah. It hasn’t resolved everything.

Nate: Look. Lily and devon are smiling with each other, all relaxed and maybe even happy.

Elena: They look like themselves again, the way things should be.

Nate: Thank god it happened, but I don’t know what did the trick.

Elena: Well, the only important thing is that they’re on the right path. And now we have something else to celebrate.

[ Glasses clink ] Okay. If those two can make amends and forgive themselves, then…

Nate: Anything’s possible.

Christine: Tonight turned out beautifully.

Nikki: Oh, thank you so much.

Sharon: So, how did things go with victoria and your father?

Adam: Uh, better than expected, actually.

Sharon: Well, that sounds promising.

Adam: I realized how fun it could be when my father and i get along.

Sharon: In what way?

Adam: Well, victoria is jealous. This father and son reunion is killing her. Just seeing her try not to work herself into a frenzy — it’s a gift that keeps giving.

Sharon: Adam…

Adam: I know what you’re gonna say. Okay? And you’re right. We’re not here to celebrate victoria driving herself crazy. Tonight is about genoa city’s bicentennial.

Sharon: That’s right. And as long as we are here celebrating history and fond memories and longevity, here’s to us, best of friends.

Adam: To us.

[ Glasses clink ]

Nina: Is this is where the party is?

Christine: [ Gasps ] Nina!

Nina: [ Laughs ]

Christine: Oh, my gosh, it’s so good to see you. What? No one told me you’d be here.

Nina: Well, I wanted to surprise everybody.

Christine: You look fabulous.

Nina: So do you! Thank you very much.

Christine: Wait, wait, wait. I just — it’s so good to see — I can’t believe you’re here.

Nina: I mean, wild horses weren’t gonna keep me away. I’m part of this town. You can’t celebrate without me.

Christine: That is the truth.

Nina: [ Chuckles ] Aww, it’s so good to be home.

[ Laughs ]

Nick: So, how you doing? You cold?

Sally: A little, yeah. But it was totally worth it. The rooftop view is gorgeous.

Nick: It’s nothing compared to what I’m looking at right now.

[ Camera shutter clicking ]

Sally: You, always with the right thing to say.

[ Chuckles ]

Nick: Yeah, it makes up for the fact that I’ve been a subpar date.

Sally: Well, you’ve been attentive, courteous.

Nick: Haven’t even asked you to dance yet.

Sally: Well, I thought maybe it had something to do with your abilities.

Nick: Uh, what? Wh– did you just question my abilities as an answer?

Sally: I don’t know. I have heard things.

Nick: Oh, no, no. You — let’s go. It’s on.

Sally: [ Chuckling ] Okay.

[ Soft jazz music playing ]

Jack: [ Sighs ]

Billy: Jack, I got to say, this is by far the best bicentennial gala this city has ever seen. In fact, I think I’m going to rsvp for the next one.

Jack: Yeah, you should do that.

Chelsea: Your brother is in full billy abbott mode tonight. I think he’s very pleased with himself over his new job at jabot. Billy told me the good news.

Jack: Oh, yeah. Funny how things work out, huh?

Chelsea: Yeah. This is the start of an exciting new era for your family and jabot.

Jack: Yeah. We hope so.

Billy: You okay?

Jack: Uh, yeah. I-I just have something I have to handle. Will you excuse me, please?

Billy: Mm-hmm.

Chelsea: Of course.

Summer: Maybe we’ve been too hard on her, set up too many rules and boundaries, and now she’s telling how proud she is of us? I mean, is this how she acts when she’s at her breaking point?

Daniel: We can’t be the only kids who are freaked out by their mom telling them how proud she is of them, can we?

Summer: [ Sighs ]

Daniel: I mean, are we the ones who are in need of repair?

Kyle: I think I need another champagne.

Daniel: You know, I’m gonna see if I can find her and figure out what the heck’s going on.

Summer: Yeah.

[ Soft jazz music playing ]

Kyle: Hey. Everything okay?

Jack: Yeah. A — a guy crashed into me. He was wearing a mask. Diane and I wondered if it was stark.

Kyle: What? You don’t think he’s here? Did he do something, say something?

Summer: No, he wouldn’t dare.

Jack: Security is already on the lookout.

Kyle: You just let them do their job and you do yours. Make tonight unforgettable.

Jack: You’re right. I got a big announcement to make.

Kyle: Where is your bride-to-be, anyway?

Jack: I wish I knew.

Diane: Kyle? It’s mom! Kyle? Hey, kyle, are you okay?

[ Sighs ]

[ Scoffs ] Classic phyllis. I should have known. What are you up to? Because whatever it is, I’m not playing. Just get out of my way.

Phyllis: Not yet.

Diane: We’re done here, phyllis. It’s over.

Phyllis: Oh, believe me, for the first time in your life, you are correct. It is so over. I used to wait to run my dishwasher

Christine: It is so good to see you. We’re gonna have a lot of fun.

Nina: I am so excited to see everybody. Of course there’s one vip who I’m just dying to give a big hug to, but it’s past his bedtime.

Christine: Your adorable grandson, dominic.

Nina: Yeah. Chance has him tomorrow, so i have to wait until then to see him, but — I don’t know. Some stupid visitation agreement or something.

Christine: Yeah, no, I know it’s hard. But from what I understand, chance is handling it pretty well. Speaking of which, where is he?

Nina: Oh, he’s on some big stakeout or something? I’m hoping he’ll be here later. Geez. Police work, right? It never ends.

Christine: Mm-hmm. Yeah. I know about that.

Nina: So, where’s paul? What, now that he’s retired, he’s out on the lake fishing all the time?

Christine: Uh, he’s in portugal, spending a bit more time with heather and lucy.

Nina: He had to go now, with all the excitement in town?

Christine: You know paul. Family first.

Victor: Esther, how have you been enjoying the evening so far?

Esther: Oh, my goodness, it’s a delightful night. Honoring neil, the excitement.

Nikki: Oh, we’re so glad you could be here.

Esther: Oh, me too. Mrs. C would have loved every minute of this, from the planning to the designing to greeting every guest at the door.

Nikki: And the very last to leave.

Esther: [ Laughs ] Boy, she sure knew how to throw a party. She brought out the best in people.

Nikki: Mm. I can see her now in an incredible gown, making her way through the crowd.

Esther: Yeah. Every stranger a friend.

Victor: Well, wait a minute. Every stranger was on guard because, as you know — we all know — katherine had a tongue as sharp as a knife, you know?

Esther: Yeah.

Nikki: Endlessly entertaining.

Victor: Yes.

Esther: Yes. It’s almost like she’s here now.

Victor: Yes. I miss katherine. I think we all do.

Nikki: Mm-hmm.

Victor: Cheers to her.

Esther: To mrs. C.

[ Glasses clink ]

Kyle: Uh, aunt traci. Have you seen my mom?

Traci: Kyle. Hi, sweetie. No, no, I haven’T. But you know what? If I do see her, I will tell her that you’re looking for her.

Kyle: Yeah. Thanks.

Leanna: Excuse me. I couldn’t help overhearing

[Inhales sharply] But I think I may be of assistance.

Kyle: What, you’ve seen my mom — diane?

Leanna: She was on her way upstairs after a little chat with [Whispering] Phyllis.

Kyle: Oh, no.

Leanna: Can I ask you something? How’s it been for you having your dad and mother back in your life?

Kyle: Look, I don’t know you, but I take it you never stop looking for trouble.

Leanna: Why would I, my dear? It’s what I do best.

Diane: Tricking me into thinking kyle was sick? You know, that’s a new low, even for you. No wonder you’re alone tonight. You’ve tried for months to unmask me, but the only thing you’ve accomplished is letting everyone get a glimpse of your truly desperate existence.

Phyllis: My goodness, you know so much about me, but you just don’t know when to shut up.

Diane: You’re the problem, phyllis. You couldn’t let it go. And now everyone sees who you really are. So, if you’ll excuse me, my family needs me.

Phyllis: You’re not going anywhere until I say so.

Diane: [ Gasping ]

[ Breathing heavily ] (Wheezing)

Nate: Why are you watching me like that?

Elena: Because everyone thinks you are the most debonair, relaxed man in this room, but they don’t know you like I know you.

Nate: [ Chuckles ] What is the casual observer missing?

Elena: That your mind is working in overtime right now and that you can’t figure out how in the world devon and lily are even in the same room without fighting.

Nate: I don’t care about the method, just the results. And they seem to be on track.

Elena: Well, maybe now you can let go of the guilt and your sense of responsibility that you were feeling when they were fighting.

Nate: And concentrate on other, more pressing concerns.

Elena: For instance?

Nate: You.

Elena: Tell me more.

Nate: I — I keep having these thoughts going around and around in my head. Here you are in this unbelievable dress, and all i can think about is getting you back home.

Elena: Hmm. Sounds like you’re reading my mind.

Nate: But first… may I have this dance?

[ Soft jazz music playing ]

Elena: Smooth.

Nate: Why do you seem surprised?

Elena: It’s been a while.

[ Light laughter ]

Billy: Huge turnout.

Chelsea: Yeah. Yeah. Huge.

Billy: You okay? You need anything?

Chelsea: Mm, no, I’m good.

Billy: Okay.

Chelsea: I’m great. This — this beats staying home and watching old movies any day.

Billy: Good.

Chelsea: [ Sighs ] Yeah, um…

Leanna: [ Gasps ] Well, look who’s here. Billy abbott. It’s been too long.

Billy: Not long enough.

Leanna: [ Laughs ] Aren’t you going to introduce me?

Billy: Chelsea, this is —

Leanna: Chelsea lawson. I am world-famous journalista leanna love. It’s a pleasure. You have stories, and I want to know them all. What do you say to carving out a few minutes for me? We should talk. What’s the #1 retinol brand

[ Soft jazz music playing ]

Kyle: Hey, babe.

Summer: Hey. Any luck finding diane?

Kyle: Nothing.

Summer: Jack sent a text and he didn’t hear back, so we need to track her down.

Kyle: And leanna saw my mom going upstairs after talking to your mother.

Summer: Upstairs where?

Kyle: She’s not on the roof. Maybe a suite?

Summer: Kyle, I — I was thinking, we haven’t seen my mom in a while, either, not since the speeches. And now they’ve both disappeared?

[ Sighs ]

Diane: [ Chuckling ] Oh. Should I take off my diamonds and heels so we can have a good old-fashioned catfight? Is that what you want?

Phyllis: No. No. You’re not worth the trouble, diane.

Diane: Yeah, and you’re not worth my time. You see, there’s an incredibly handsome man downstairs who adores me, and he is minutes away from making an announcement that will change our lives forever.

Phyllis: Unless he’s gonna tell everybody what a manipulative bitch you are, I’m not interested.

Diane: You will be. Phyllis, you have spent so much energy trying to get me out of your life. But guess what. I’m not going anywhere.

Phyllis: Oh, that is right. You are not going anywhere… until you listen to what i have to tell you.

Adam: You should go in the lounge and kick up your heels, sharon.

Sharon: Yeah. The music’s great, isn’t it?

Adam: [ Laughs ] I know how much you love to dance. You know, there’s a lot of potential dance partners out there. Unless you are, uh, waiting for someone in particular?

[ Laughter ]

Traci: Oh, nina. I hope this evening never ends. All these familiar faces all together.

Nina: It really has been wonderful, hasn’t it? I mean, I just love catching up with everyone.

Traci: Everyone?

Nina: [ Chuckles ] Well, there’s just, you know, one or two people I don’t need to see.

[ Both laugh ] But so far, it’s been fun.

Traci: I actually find it kind of entertaining to run into the people I don’t need to see.

Abby: It wasn’t even his umbrella!

[ Both laughing ]

Traci: Nina? I think I might have lost you.

Nina: I’m sorry. Just random work thoughts.

Traci: Oh, really? Are you writing anything interesting?

Nina: As a matter of fact, I am. It’s about an overprotective mother who’s obsessed with her son, who, on the most exciting night of the year, has decided to skip the party because he’s afraid to run into the last woman he loved because she shredded his heart. He’s such a good soul. He deserves to be happy. But he probably blames himself for what happened.

Traci: Um, this sounds a little specific.

Nina: You know, I’m sorry. I’m just figuring out chance may not be on a big stakeout at all. I think he skipped this gala to avoid her.

Daniel: [ Laughing ] That’s the one!

Abby: That’s it!

Daniel: That’s it!

[ Both laughing ]

Traci: Abby. Look, I know their breakup was really shocking, but I thought they were getting along.

Nina: Yeah, well, chance probably made it look that way because he’s such a good person, but she broke his heart. She hurt him. He didn’t deserve that.

Nikki: No, of course he didn’T.

Nina: I think I’ve got some things to say to her.

Traci: Uh, nina, right now? I mean, seriously. Everyone is having a wonderful time. Do you think that’s wise?

Nina: I came a long way to get here. I am so not interested in being wise.

Daniel: Thank you!

Nina: I’m gonna go talk to her.

Daniel: I’ll take any chance I get to laugh these days.

[ Laughs ]

Abby: Oh, no.

Daniel: Oh, no, what? Oh, no.

Nina: Daniel, would you mind if I had a few words with abby? Alone. Having diabetes can raise a lot of questions.

“The young and the restless”

will continue.

Jill: Devon, what are you saying?

Devon: I’m saying that lily and I still have a lot to figure out just ’cause we still have very different approaches to the way we do business.

Lily: I think what devon is too polite to say is that it’s gonna take him a while to trust me again.

Devon: Well, no. Listen. The most important thing here is you and you being in my life. So, moving forward, if there’s anything that could possibly jeopardize our relationship, it has to be gone.

Jill: Am I hearing you right? Are you telling me that you would consider walking away from chancellor-winters?

Lily: Well, let’s just give devon some time to think about things, right? I mean, this is all happening really fast.

Jill: So, would tomorrow be too soon?

[ Laughter ]

Devon: How about we take one step at a time?

Jill: Well, can you blame me for wanting to get back to the fun stuff? You know, the buying, the selling, the taking over the world?

Devon: Yeah, no, I can’t blame you at all, jill.

Jill: Seriously, thank you so much for agreeing to end this hideous chapter. And then we can all start a new one, right?

Devon: I’d say so.

Jill: [ Chuckles ]

Devon: Cheers to that.

Jill: Cheers to that.

Lily: Cheers. [ Chuckles ]

Nina: How could you?

Abby: I never meant —

Nina: No, really. Please explain to me what chance ever did to make you think that he deserved to be treated like that.

Abby: Nothing. Chance didn’t do —

Nina: You know, when I heard it, I thought, “no, it’s a lie.” It couldn’t be true. How could it be? You were the one who refused to believe the stories of his death when he was overseas. And you went there and you found him and you brought him back to his son and to his family, just to break his heart?

Abby: That was never my intention.

Nina: Oh, you didn’t mean to destroy his dreams of having a family with you? Well, that’s nice to hear. I’d hate to think what hell you would unleash if you meant to hurt him.

Abby: I loved chance with all of my heart.

Nina: No, except the part that slept with devon. Devon! Dominic’s biological father. It’s like you went out and you found the one person to hurt chance the most.

Abby: It wasn’t like that.

Nina: No?

Abby: No. And, look, I am sorry. I will forever be sorry for the pain that I caused chance. He didn’t deserve that.

Nina: I really hope that he gets past what you did to him because I never will.

Never.

Sharon: If I want to ask someone to dance, I will do so. I don’t need you to do it for me.

Adam: Of course not. But time is passing away. I just thought maybe you were waiting for gcpd’s number-one detective.

Sharon: Chance? Yeah. You know, I — I thought he was gonna be here tonight.

Adam: I’m sure he’ll be here soon.

Sharon: Are you trying to set me up?

Adam: What? I’m not. But if you need a wingman, here I am.

Sharon: And you think it would be with chance? Chance was rey’s partner and someone who loved him. Yeah, he’s really handsome and attractive. So, maybe in another lifetime — I don’t know — I would let you play the role of the wingman, um, but we’re just friends. That’s it.

Adam: Okay. I hear you. And I will back off. I just — I think you deserve…

Sharon: What? Romance?

Adam: You deserve to be happy, sharon. And, yes, you have a big, full life, absolutely, but…

Sharon: No “buts.” I do. I am happy. I mean, maybe some people think my life is a little bit quiet, but, trust me, I have had enough drama and chaos to last me a lifetime. A little peace and quiet suits me just fine right now.

Adam: Mm. Then I stand corrected.

Sharon: And, besides, soon I’m gonna have aria, and that will make things interesting — and loud.

[ Chuckles ]

Adam: I’m gonna have someone interesting and loud of my own in a few months, too.

Sharon: Mm-hmm. Well, I think it’s — it’s important to be grateful for what you have and not stay fixated on what you don’T. I think that’s the key to happiness.

Devon: God, I wish he was here. He would love this place so much.

Lily: He would. What do you think he would say if he were here right now?

Devon: Oh. “Turn up the music”?

Lily: [ Laughs ] Oh, my god.

Devon: Right?

Lily: He would. He also would say that the picture is really good, but that he’s definitely more handsome in person.

Devon: [ Chuckles ]

Lily: You know that, right?

Devon: Yeah. And then he would probably ask you to dance…

Lily: Yeah.

Devon: …And then tell you how proud he is of both of us.

Lily: Family wins over everything.

Devon: Always.

Leanna: Chelsea, if memory serves, you are adam newman’s ex. Oh, there’s been a nick newman interlude or two, and now you’re here with billy abbott. And what do I recall about a bride being left at the altar? Huh! What a tangled web we weave.

Billy: No one’s weaving anything here, leanna.

Leanna: Does this run in the family? Because I know that jack recently went into his treasure trove of love affairs for his latest paramour.

Billy: Don’t you have anything better to do?

Leanna: Uh…no. Tell me more about you. No more podcasting, said goodbye to fashion design. What’s next for chelsea lawson, huh?

Chloe: E-excuse me. Excuse me.

Chelsea: I…

Chloe: Hi. Okay. We’re done here. We are happy to answer questions later, when hell freezes over. Come on.

Billy: This room is full of people. Go find someone else to annoy.

Chelsea: You’re here. You came.

Chloe: Yeah. It’s a good thing I did. You were lost in the headlights.

Chelsea: Thank you. I…

[ Sighs ] I can always count on you, can’t I?

Chloe: Yeah, damn right you can.

Chelsea: [ Exhales heavily ]

Billy: Hey. You okay?

Chloe: Hey, where were you, billy? Come on. What are you doing? You’re supposed to be protecting our girl here and not let that reporter badger her.

Billy: Yeah, I-I should have cut that off sooner. I apologize.

Chloe: No, see, the problem is you were taught to be polite to them, and I just don’t have that issue.

Billy: No. No, you do not.

Chloe: [ Sighs ] Okay. I’m really sorry. I have to get going. I have to keep my mother from embarrassing herself. You just can’t take her anywhere. Holler if you need me.

Chelsea: I will.

Chloe: It just never ends.

Billy: Sorry about that. I-I apologize. You okay? Can I get anything for you?

Chelsea: [ Sniffles ]

[ Voice breaking ] I’m okay.

Chelsea: [ Sniffles, exhales heavily ] You.

Billy: Okay. Great. And I’m not going anywhere, okay?

Chelsea: [ Sighs ] That was embarrassing.

Billy: No, it wasn’T. It wasn’T. Your flight-or-fight kicked in, as it does when you get overwhelmed. You told me that before. Everything’s okay.

Chelsea: [ Breathing deeply ]

Billy: And flight it is. Okay. Let’s get out of here.

Chelsea: No, no, no. Don’t do that. I’ll — I’ll get a — I’ll get a ride share. I don’t want to ruin your night.

Billy: Chelsea, the only thing that’s gonna ruin my night is if I have to go back in there without you, okay? That’s the way it’s gonna be. You go, I go.

Christine: Was that really necessary?

Nina: Very much so.

Christine: Confronting her like that? You are the last person I would ever expect to do that.

Nina: Hey, if you don’t think abby needed a talking-to, i don’t know what to say.

Christine: No, no, no, that’s not what I’m saying.

Nina: Well, good.

Esther: So, miles wanted me to be mother goose, but then bella thought that I shou– uh, why do I get the feeling that you’re not listening to me anymore?

Chloe: Oh, mom. You know, I love your stories about bella and miles, but i think that’s because they’re my kids.

Esther: Chloe, honey, we are celebrating our town’s heritage and history. And who’s part of that history? Me. And if I want to brag about those brilliant children…

Jill: I think that i distinctly heard the voice of someone stirring up trouble.

Nina: Just the aftermath.

Jill: Oh! Even better! Come on. Tell me everything. Did you lay into abby?

Nina: That girl’s behavior is completely unacceptable. And that’s all I’ve got to say about it.

Jill: [ Laughs ]

Nina: What? Am I missing something?

Christine: Well, mm, the irony, perhaps.

Nina: What?

Jill: No, well, maybe if you, like, flip back a few chapters in genoa city history, you’ll come across the story of phillip chancellor the third.

Christine: Who was my boyfriend.

Chloe: Ooh, I like this.

Jill: Yes, you’re gonna like this. You seduced him and gave birth to his child.

Nina: Yes, well, I’m aware. It’s just — you know, it’s not the same thing. The situations are completely… yeah, you’re right.

Jill: [ Laughs ]

Nina: Sorry.

[ Laughter ]

Esther: You were a fright when you lived with mrs. C.

Jill: I didn’t think anybody could drive her up the wall the way I did.

Nina: Well, my point is that I love both of my phillipps, and I believe I have displayed extraordinary growth, personally and morally.

Christine: Yes, you have.

Nina: Thank you. And, yes, there have been a few bumps along the way, but I got here. Isn’t that what counts?

Jill: Hey, girls, here’s to the bumps that led us all here.

Nina: Hear, hear!

Chloe: Hear, hear.

Christine: Cheers.

[ Laughter ]

Jack: Hey. Still no sign of diane?

Kyle: No mom, no phyllis. Anything?

Summer: I spoke with the front desk and I finally got him to admit that there is a room registered under my mom’s name.

Kyle: Why would she book a room?

Summer: I don’t know. Maybe she wanted to crash after the party.

Jack: They have both been gone quite a while.

Kyle: Leanna said she saw mom going upstairs after talking to phyllis.

Jack: We better get up there now.

Kyle: Yeah.

Phyllis: The only worthwhile thing about you, diane, is your son, but the rest of you? Nothing. You’re disgusting. You’re a criminal, diane.

Diane: [ Scoffs ] You are throwing stones from a glass house.

Phyllis: Oh, my god! You let me take the fall for burning down the pool house years ago. I was in jail. It didn’t matter to you. You got off scot-free. Let’s not forget, I was on the long list of suspects in your presumed murder.

Diane: And what? What? What, phyllis? What? You want to — you want a do-over? You want a blanket apology for the last 20 years?

Phyllis: Oh, my god. Look at you. Look at you, still not taking responsibility. “Oh, I pretended my death, but here I am, everybody! Oh, no big deal, no big deal!” Why didn’t you stay dead? Why?! Why are you not dead?

Diane: [ Chuckles ]

Phyllis: I’ll tell you why. Because you were erased from our memory. Erased. We forgot about you. You didn’t matter to us. So you don’t matter. And I killed you. So you had to come back and take everything that was mine.

Diane: I wasn’t thinking about you at all.

Phyllis: You were thinking about me all the time. I am the only one who sees through your act. And I am the only one who will continue to see through everything that you do. I don’t buy these fake tears and this reformed act. It is a lie. And you are terrified that I am gonna expose your latest con, aren’t you?

Terrified of me.

Diane: Ha!

Phyllis: And you should be terrified of me. So you tried to take away everything that was mine and everything that I loved.

[ Breathes deeply ] Jack. My job.

[ Voice breaking ] My relationship with my daughter. The respect that my son had for me. And you tried to leave me with nothing.

Diane: You poor, delusional woman.

Phyllis: Don’t you dare pity me. You know who I pity? I pity the people that you’ve lied to and the people that you will betray in a few months. And that is jack, kyle, and that sweet little harrison. See, because eventually you’ll expose yourself and this mask will fall and they will be left with you, the psychotic, despicable lunatic that you are. And they will wish that you are six feet under. They will wish and they will look at you with disgust!

Diane: That’s enough. There is only one evil bitch in this room, and I am looking right at her. Remember the things you loved

Victor: Jill.

Jill: Ah!

Victor: My goodness.

Jill: I’ve come to say farewell, victor. It’s been wonderful seeing everyone. Well, almost everyone.

Victor: What’s the matter? You leaving us already?

Jill: Yes. This evening has already proved to be more than I could have ever dreamed of.

Victor: Really?

Jill: Mm.

Victor: Did I have anything to do with your change of fortune?

Jill: Yes, you did.

Victor: Oh, yeah?

Jill: The money that you invested in chancellor-winters has already paid off. Devon is dropping the lawsuit.

Victor: Well, I’ll be damned.

Jill: Mm-hmm.

Victor: That happened sooner than I had thought.

Jill: I agree with you. It did. But the merger stays in place. Now, whether or not he stays or walks away from it, whether or not he buys mccall or he turns tucker down the way you want him to, that’s all still in question.

Victor: Huh. Well, well, well, well. But you know that in business I have a lot of patience.

Jill: I know you do.

[ Laughter ]

Nick: That’s crazy.

[ Both laugh ]

Adam: I miss this. You know, not just the relationship or the romance, but the, uh, friendship.

Sally: I miss our friendship, too. You saw things in me that no one else ever did.

Adam: No, I could see how amazing you were from the moment we met.

[ Laughter ]

Devon: Hey.

Abby: Hi.

Devon: How you doing? Mwah.

Abby: Wait, I was looking for you. Is everything okay?

Devon: Yeah. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you that I was gonna step out, but lily and I had some things we needed to say to each other.

Abby: Good things, I hope?

Devon: Yeah. Really good things, actually. We had a long talk and we forgave each other for everything we’ve been going through and I’ve decided to stop fighting the merger.

Abby: Wait. So, the lawsuit…

Devon: Doesn’t exist.

Abby: [ Chuckles ] Well, that’s incredible. I know that wasn’t easy for you.

Devon: Yeah. I mean, it’s like lily said. We’ve been through rough times before. So, I know we can get through this.

[ Laughter ]

Daniel: You’re gonna have to repeat yourself. Uh, between the music and the alcohol, I must have misunderstood.

Lily: No, you heard me. Jill canceled the ipo and devon dropped the lawsuit.

Daniel: That’s incredible!

Lily: Yeah!

Daniel: You got a reset!

Lily: [ Laughs ] I know! I mean, we have to do a lot more work on our relationship, but I’m happy.

Daniel: No, you’re both willing to try. I mean, that’s all that matters.

Lily: Yeah.

Daniel: I’d say you had a pretty good day.

Lily: I did have a good day.

Daniel: Mm-hmm.

Lily: You know what would make it better?

Daniel: Hmm?

Lily: If you dance with me.

Daniel: [ Clears throat ] Well…

Lily: Uh-oh.

[ Laughs ]

[ Glass thuds ]

Daniel: Liquid courage. Be careful of what you ask for.

[ Mid-tempo jazz music playing ]

Diane: Ever since I came back, you have tried to blame me for your reckless, self-destructive behavior. You know, jack and I are sick to death of your pathetic attempts to paint yourself as the hero or the victim when you’re clearly the villain. The only way you can elevate yourself is by dragging everyone else down, and it is a disgusting, despicable compulsion.

[ Scoffs ] Your family is embarrassed by you. And your friends? Ha! Look around. Look around. Where are they? You have used up every last bit of patience and goodwill that they had for you, and now you’re alone. You did this! You drove everyone away! You are the reason that your life is such a dismal failure! And if you can’t get out of your own way, then just get the hell out of mine.

Phyllis: No, you’re not going anywhere. Oh! You bitch.

Diane: Ohh!

Phyllis: Bring it! Bring it! Bring it! Ah! Ahhhh!

Diane: I should do the world a favor and strangle you to death!
