Jack: Hey, am I dreaming, or are you back from your honeymoon? Hi.
Kyle: We’re back.
Summer: Of course. We missed you too much to stay gone forever. Besides, what would you do without us?
Jack: Well, I can answer that question ’cause I tell you, I am glad you are back. Oh, you both look so relaxed and refreshed. Where’s my grandson?
Kyle: He’s upstairs napping. The little guy’s exhausted.
Jack: Did he like costa rica?
Summer: Oh, he loved it.
[ Chuckles ]
Kyle: The water, the wildlife. Every day was an adventure.
Jack: Fantastic.
Summer: He’s about ready to move down there. As soon as he can build a big enough tree house to fit you and mrs. Martinez. Oh, and allie and ashley and traci and, of course, his dee dee.
Jack: Yeah, good to grow up with that many people to love.
Ashley: Well, hi. Look who’s back from costa rica.
Summer: Hi.
Ashley: Did you guys have fun?
Summer: Oh, yes. It was unforgettable.
Kyle: Doesn’t matter where we go, it’s always great to come back home. What? Something we said?
Ashley: You haven’t told them yet?
Jack: I have not.
Kyle: Told us about what?
Ashley: I’m sorry, but there’s been some developments regarding your mother, kyle, and tucker.
Diane: You can save your threats and accusations. You’d be wasting your breath and my time because there is too much at stake for me to give up now.
Sally: [ Sighs ] Chloe, I hope you are getting as sick of hearing my voice as I am of being sent to voicemail. Look, I’m all for family trips and going off the grid, but there are some developments here that we need to discuss, and I really would rather you hear it from me. So just call me back.
[ Sighs ]
[ Knock on door ] Come in. Look, whatever it is that you want, I —
Adam: I’m looking for chloe.
Sally: Well, she’s not here, but if there’s anything else you need, I’d be happy to direct you to another office or my successor here at newman media.
Adam: Wait a minute. Your successor? What are you talking about?
Victoria: I brought you a coffee.
Nick: If this is your way of making things up to me —
Victoria: It’s my way of saying good morning to my coo.
Nick: Well, I’m not having a good morning. I still think it was a mistake firing sally. It was completely unnecessary and heartless, and I don’t think the company should be run this way.
Victoria: [ Sighs ] Nate will be a great fit for newman.
Nick: You know, if you feel so strongly about hiring nate, put him in one of our other divisions. Why does he have to be the ceo of newman media?
Victoria: I’ve already made my decision, and nate’s accepted the position. You need to get on board.
Nick: I still think you’re doing this just to erase all traces of adam from newman.
Victoria: [ Sighs ] This isn’t about him.
Nick: Well, it’s certainly not about sally’s performance, and I can’t believe you would risk a woman’s career and opportunities just because she got involved with our brother.
Victoria: Yes, my brother. I have two of them, as you know.
Nick: Ah, here we go.
Victoria: You have been aggressively vague about your relationship with sally, and now that she’s no longer an issue, why don’t you just admit it?
Nick: Admit what?
Victoria: That the two of you are involved, and that’s the real reason you’re upset about her leaving the company.
Nick: This is about a talented employee who is being ousted for no good reason.
Victoria: Or maybe it’s because you feel bad because you just gave your girlfriend bad news. How serious are things between you and sally?
You never know

Sally: Due to restructuring, chloe and I have been let go.
Adam: That’s crazy.
Sally: Well, apparently, victoria decided that we weren’t a good fit, and she already has my replacement lined up.
Adam: Sally, I… I don’t know what to say. That’s —
Sally: Well, join the club. I mean, I’ve left about a half-a-dozen messages for chloe, and part of me is glad that she hasn’t even got back to me, because I don’t — what do I say to her? This job means the world to her, and she has two kids to support.
[ Sighs ] But I will pass along your message whenever I hear from her.
Adam: Just tell her to let me know if she hears from chelsea.
Sally: Yeah, well, she’s been out of town for the last few days, so I really don’t know how much help she’ll be, but I will give her the message.
Adam: Alright. Thank you.
[ Sighs ]
Sally: Is chelsea alright?
Adam: We’re, you know, probably just getting our signals crossed.
Sally: Well, if I run into her, I will tell her you want to talk to her.
Adam: Thank you. I don’t know if anybody’s going to come out and admit this, but I just — I want you to know that you’ve done an excellent job at newman media, and it just — it doesn’t make a damn bit of sense to let go of somebody with your drive and your talent and energy.
Sally: But you know what a waste of time it is to try and figure out the newmans and their bad decisions.
Adam: Indeed. You deserved better, sally.
Sally: Well, as disappointing as this is, my removal didn’t come as a total shock because I know that victoria has made it painfully clear that I was just here on a trial basis, and she meant trial by fire. But I jumped through every hoop in heels. Still c’est la vie.
Adam: You are handling this much more gracefully than i would.
Sally: Yeah, well, when you’ve absorbed as many hits as I have, you learn to roll with the punches.
Adam: You know, you say this is victoria’s decision, but I just — I can’t help but wonder how much say nick had in this.
Sally: [ Sighs ]
Nick: My relationship with sally has nothing to do with this conversation about work.
Victoria: So you keep saying and that’s a huge problem because it has everything to do with it. Your relationship with sally puts you in a very troubling position.
Nick: You’re making all sorts of assumptions.
Victoria: Based on my observations, what you’re saying, what you refuse to say.
Nick: Tell me something, vick. Have you recently instituted a non-fraternization rule?
Victoria: Not only would your relationship with sally rob you of objectivity and decision-making…
Nick: That is insulting to her and to me.
Victoria: …It would also pit you against adam. You might as well send him an engraved invitation to a family battle royale. And that’s the last thing that we need.
[ Sighs ] Look, whether you’re willing to admit it or not, you know in your heart that it’s true, nicholas. It’s exactly why you’re keeping this thing with sally a secret.
Nick: I didn’t bring it up into every conversation because it simply wasn’t an issue.
Victoria: If that were the case, you wouldn’t be so defensive. This thing with sally is problematic at best.
Victor: I remove this queen, I’ll be one step away from checkmate.
Ashley: Sounds like somebody’s playing chess.
Victor: Hello.
Nikki: Hi, ashley. Please have a seat.
Ashley: Thank you.
Nikki: Victor and faith have been playing online one move at a time since she went to college.
Ashley: I love that. What a fantastic way to stay in touch. Sounds like it’s almost over, though.
Victor: Could be.
Ashley: Well, you’re being kind to your granddaughter.
Victor: No, I would never do that. I have too much respect for her abilities. How are you?
Ashley: Never better.
Victor: Tucker’s arrival must have been a shock to you.
Ashley: Well, it’s been very annoying. I have a question for you, though, victor. Were you aware that tucker and diane were working together in los angeles? And that every move, from them deciding to come back to genoa city to diane infiltrating my family was carefully planned?
Victor: Well, let me put it this way. My team has been doing some research, you know, but I leave all of that up to my beautiful wife to deal with. She and her cohorts will handle it.
Nikki: He knows we have a plan. He’s just not overly concerned about the details.
Victor: How do you fit into all this? What are you doing?
Ashley: Just trying to get as much information about diane as I can. Hopefully, she and tucker will be leaving genoa city for good.
Victor: I understand that tucker mccall was trying to impress everyone terribly at summer’s reception by landing a damn helicopter.
Ashley: Ridiculous, actually. But, you know, he’s always trying to make a splash. I have everything under control. I can handle things.
Victor: I’m sure you can, but please be careful. Well… hello, phyllis.
Phyllis: Oh. Hello. Hi.
Victor: Please have a seat.
Phyllis: Thank you. Okay, well, I’m having a hard time coming up with new excuses as to why I’m late at work, so I hope it’s worth it.
Victor: You know, it’s amazing to see the three of you beautiful women sitting together. I mean, my goodness, an unlikely alliance. Diane jenkins brought you all together. Good luck.
Nikki: So what did you learn about diane?
Phyllis: Yeah, I have a feeling it’s big. Honestly, it has to be explosive. Really, enough to send that bitch packing for good.
Jack: I know all of this is not easy to hear, but diane has been hiding her connection to tucker since she came back to town.
Kyle: I can’t believe tucker mccall was the one who found out allie even existed. He dangled that information in front of my mother so she could get back into our good graces.
Summer: Oh, my god. Do you remember how shocked and outraged she was when tucker crashed our vow renewal? That was all an act? Wow. She’s good.
Jack: Diane says that all she wanted from the very beginning was a relationship with kyle, and I happen to believe her.
Summer: And what was it that diane was giving tucker in return?
Jack: Tucker wants to rebuild a relationship with ashley. Diane’s job was to feed him information that would get him closer to ashley.
Summer: That’s despicable.
Kyle: How did you find out about this? Is your source even reliable?
Jack: My source is your mother, and she admitted all of this. When you really need to sleep.
Nick: I’m not being defensive. I’m taking issue with how you’re handling things. And I do not appreciate you using my relationship with sally to justify hiring nate.
Victoria: It was a smart move, far more savvy than keeping sally and her allies in place, which you would’ve realized if you didn’t let your affection for the woman blind you to the business realities.
Nick: I think my perspective is a lot clearer than yours.
Victoria: Look, I’m not making a judgment call on your personal life. If you want to continue to see her, that’s your prerogative.
Nick: Oh, thank you, vick, for your permission.
Victoria: But I don’t regret my choice at all. It’s what’s right for newman media.
Victor: I agree with you.
Sally: You can’t use this as an opportunity to trash your brother, okay? Nick did everything he could to change victoria’s mind, but it was her decision alone. Not that it’s any of your business.
Adam: But it is. In a way. I’m the one who saw you had the talent and the temperament for this job. I mean, you proved all your detractors wrong, and the only reason that they’re letting you go is because of me, because of your association with…
former association with me. I know that there may be some tension between you and summer and the abbotts, but I’d be happy to try to help you open some doors at jabot and marchetti.
Sally: I don’t want any favors, especially not from you since I know you’re only offering to assuage your guilt.
Adam: That is not what I’m doing, okay? I want to help. If I can help, I want to do that.
Sally: Look, this is not my first rodeo. Okay? I really need to get back to clearing out. And, apparently, you need to get in touch with chelsea.
Adam: Okay. Good luck, sally.
Nikki: Are you saying that diane actually admitted to jack that she conspired with tucker when they were in los angeles, and tucker is the one that told her about allie and who she was to the abbotts?
Ashley: Yep, she did, indeed.
[ Nikki and phyllis sigh ]
Phyllis: You know why this is? Because we kept applying pressure. We kept on digging in.
Nikki: We backed her into a corner, and she got scared.
Ashley: Yeah, so scared she had to come clean.
Phyllis: I like this feeling. I like it a lot. I like the feeling, “I knew that smiling viper was full of it, and I knew she was lying, and soon everybody else is going to know she’s lying, too,” feeling. I like this. I’m going to enjoy it. We got her, girls.
Tucker: I apologize if i came off as threatening the other day.
Diane: Whoa, I — I’m afraid I misunderstood. It sounds like you said you’re sorry.
Tucker: Well, when you told me that you told jack our secret, I was naturally caught off guard. Mea culpa.
[ Chuckles ] I didn’t realize honesty was part of your repertoire.
Diane: Well, I’m capable of a great many things.
Tucker: So it seems.
Diane: Hm.
Tucker: “Seems.”
[ Clears throat ] It’s an interesting word, right? For instance, from your perspective, confessing seems like a great move, yeah? ‘Cause you — you got out in front of the problem, and you turned the tables on me, pulled the rug out from under me. Now I have no leverage over you. It seems that way, right?
Diane: What are you getting at, tucker?
Tucker: Nothing. It’s just that you told jack our secret, and I’m forgiving you.
Diane: How magnanimous?
Tucker: And now you’re — you are free of my villainous clutches, right? And I’ve lost half my dream. But you know what? You did what you had to do. I can’t undo it, so I’m just going to have to accept it. Survival of the fittest, right?
Diane: You know, I would be a fool to take your forgiveness at face value. You are much too treacherous and unpredictable to trust.
Tucker: Now you’re hurting my feelings.
Diane: But I am curious. What was the other half of your dream?
Victor: If you want my opinion, I think it’s time to let go of ms. Spectra.
Nick: So you approve of vick’s decision to replace sally with nate?
Victor: I certainly do. Think about it, son. Nate studied medicine. He’s very logical, very plausible, and he’ll make the right decisions.
Nick: He’s also a traitor to his family.
Victor: But he’s been loyal to us. I bet you whatever challenge we put before him, he’ll solve it.
Well, we already had someone in that position with incredible vision, someone who was making real progress in that division.
Victor: I get the feeling, son, that there’s more to it than you’re letting on. Whatever you’re up to, I would suggest you forget about it, okay, and let her go.
Nick: Why do you care, dad?
Victor: Why do I care? Because she has managed to turn my son adam against our family by constantly feeding into his resentments. I don’t want that to happen to you.
Nick: So that’s where we’re at. We’re just manufacturing grounds to fire sally, just making up stories out of thin air.
Victor: Just listen to what I’m telling you.
Nick: No, here’s what we’re not talking about. We’re not talking about her ability as ceo because there is nothing to criticize. Numbers — up and climbing. Does she have the respect of her employees? Hell, yes. Has she been able to handle everything that’s been thrown at her? Absolutely.
Victoria: And I wish her all the best in her future endeavors. Really, I do. But she’s not the best person to run newman media.
Nick: The only mistake she ever made was she missed one meeting. Who hasn’t done that? But I guess her getting involved with adam is just unforgivable. You two are the ones who are letting your personal feelings color your business decisions. But me? Nope. Because my personal life is exactly that. It’s personal.
Phyllis: I still can’t believe that diane was able to ruin our lives, come back from the dead, and convince kind, decent people that she, too, is one of them. She’s just a doting grandmother. Harrison’s dee dee. Pbht!
Ashley: Kudos to us for not taking her at face value, right?
Nikki: Hey, we performed a public service, not that we’ll be thanked for it.
Phyllis: No, no, but you know what? Getting rid of diane is reward enough for me.
Nikki: And I am so happy that your suspicious mind knew there was another shoe waiting to drop.
Ashley: Yeah, well, actually, I think there’s still more to the story. I don’t buy that the only thing tucker wanted from diane was information about me. It just doesn’t make sense.
Nikki: Yeah, that is a pretty small ask.
Ashley: Mm-hmm.
Phyllis: Hey, hey. So, how did jack react when you told him? I mean, what did he do? Did he scream at diane? And did he throw her out of the office and kick her to the curb?
Ashley: No, nothing quite like that.
Nikki: Okay, ashley, out with it. How did jack react?
Kyle: This is what everybody warned me about. They said that my mother hadn’t changed, that she wasn’t capable of it, that she was still the same person who let me believe she had been dead for all those years, and I just didn’t want to believe them.
Summer: This is not your fault. You trusted the version of her that she allowed you to see.
Kyle: If I was the only one impacted by this, fine. I would rise above it eventually. But she wormed her way into harrison’s heart. That is unforgivable.
Jack: It’s not that simple.
Summer: Jack, you’re not still giving diane the benefit of the doubt, are you? Seriously? That woman promised us time and time again that there were no more secrets.
Kyle: She swore we knew everything, but she’s been going around, putting on this act, trying to convince everyone that she had changed, but she lied to us every day about who she was and what she did in L.A. How could she do that to her son and her grandson?
Jack: Because she had no choice. Hi, my name is tony cooper, and I’m going to tell you about exciting medicare advantage plans that can provide broad coverage and still may save you money on monthly premiums and prescription drugs. With original medicare you are covered for hospital stays and doctor office visits but you have to meet a deductible for each, and then you’re still responsible for 20% of the cost. Next, let’s look at a medicare supplement plan. As you can see, they cover the same things as original medicare, and they also cover your medicare deductibles and coinsurance. But they often have higher monthly premiums and no prescription drug coverage. Now, let’s take a look at humana’s medicare advantage plans. With a humana medicare advantage plan, hospitals stays, doctor office visits and your original medicare deductibles are covered. And, of course, most humana medicare advantage plans include prescription drug coverage. With no copays or deductibles on tier 1 prescriptions, and zero dollars for routine vaccines, including shingles, at in-network retail pharmacies. In fact, in 2021, humana medicare advantage prescription drug plan members saved an estimated $9,600 on average on their prescription costs. Most humana medicare advantage plans have coverage for vision and hearing. And dental coverage that includes two free cleanings a year, plus dentures, crowns, fillings and more! Most humana medicare advantage plans include a silver sneakers fitness program at no extra cost. You get all of this for as low as a zero-dollar monthly plan premium in many areas; and your doctor and hospital may already be a part of humana’s large network. There is no obligation, so call the number on your screen right now to see if your doctor is in our network; to find out if you could save on your prescriptions, and to get our free decision guide. Humana, a more human way to healthcare.
“The young and the restless”
will continue. Skin feeling dry? Swipe it away.
Ashley: I am still in shock. Jack is more conflicted about diane’s actions than I ever thought he would be.
Phyllis: Wait a second. Wait a second. Hold on. Hold on. Is he going to forgive her?
Nikki: Oh, my god. He couldn’T.
Phyllis: She has him brainwashed.
Ashley: Maybe. She told him that she had no choice but to go along with what tucker wanted. She’s still claiming that she changed, phyllis. She’s still saying all she ever wanted was to reunite with kyle, and the only person that could make that happen was tucker. So she had to do his bidding or it wouldn’t have happened.
Nikki: So she’s playing the victim.
Phyllis: And he’s not laughing in her face.
Ashley: He seems like he’s willing to accept what she told him, but I think that’s only because she’s given him a very, very sanitized version of the story, including what tucker expects from her.
Phyllis: I can’t believe this. I mean, I thought that jack was way smarter than this. I — hang on. Okay. Maybe he just needs some time so the truth can sink in, and then he’ll start believing what we’ve been telling him all along.
Nikki: Or maybe she has dug her claws into him so deep that he thinks she deserves a second chance.
Phyllis: God, and then kyle will follow suit, and then diane will get away with all of her lies and all of her manipulation.
Ashley: I think she is just going to dig in deeper. She’s going to hold on tighter to kyle and jack, and she’s never going to let go.
Nikki: Well, we can’t let that happen. I mean, we have got to find a way to get her out of our lives for good.
Jack: And then diane started seeing someone by the name of jeremy stark. Claims he swept her off her feet, gave her wonderful gifts, exotic vacations all around the world. All was going very well until it turned out he was stuffing large amounts of cash in her luggage.
Summer: Wait, what? Why?
Jack: He was using her as a courier to launder money.
Kyle: Oh, my god.
Jack: Diane realized what a difficult situation she was in. She tried to get out of it. She couldn’T. He knew her history. He knew she had faked her own death. He knew she was complicit in his crime. And he threatened to have her arrested.
Summer: This is insane.
Jack: When he himself was arrested, diane expected the police to come looking for her. When they didn’t, she thought maybe she was free of this nightmare. The nightmare had just changed shape. This is when tucker entered the picture. He somehow knew of her entanglement with this jeremy stark, swore he would stay quiet about it, and, true to form, convinced her that they could be of service to each other.
Kyle: Quid pro quo.
Jack: Yeah, he would feed her information about allie that we all would be grateful to her for. She, in turn, would feed him as much information as she could find about ashley so that he could get close to her. And she couldn’t say no. No, not if she wanted any chance of getting what she truly wanted, a relationship with you.
Kyle: That doesn’t negate the lies that she told me.
Jack: I thought you both should know the whole story. You have all the information to decide how you want to move forward with diane, whether or not you want her to be a part of your life.
Diane: I know you wanted me to get access to jabot’s financial statements and pass it along to you as well as giving you information about ashley’s personal life, and I did what I was told.
Tucker: Partly.
Diane: Well, I told you I was never in a position to get my hands on jabot’s financial information.
Tucker: Yeah, you could’ve if you’d tried harder.
Diane: I don’t even know what you’re going to do with it. Were you planning on some maneuver to take control of jack’s company? I know that takeovers have always been your M.O., But that didn’t even make sense to me because it seems like you’re sincere about winning ashley back.
Tucker: I am.
Diane: Well, tucker, how can that be your dream? I mean, how can she ever love the man who’s trying to take her family company away from her?
Tucker: Who said I’m trying to take it away from ashley?
Adam: Yeah, billy, it’s adam — again. Call me when you get this. I’m trying to get in touch with chelsea, and you’re the last person that I saw her with. I need to know what is going on. Just let me know that she’s okay.
Nick: Hey.
Adam: Glad to see you can make time for a coffee break after firing such a talented executive. You destroyed her hopes and dreams, nick. But, hey, why should that bother you? It’s the newman way, right?
Nick: [ Sighs ] If you’re looking for a fight, find someone else. I’m really not in the mood.
Adam: I guess you’re not used to being held accountable for your actions.
Nick: If you have a problem with the way sally’s being treated, that’s got nothing to do with me.
Adam: Yeah, I mean, nothing is ever your fault. But you know what? At least own up to the real reason why you slept with her. Did you do it because you knew it was a surefire way to get under my skin?
Nick: [ Sighs ] Don’t flatter yourself. You never crossed my mind. Not once.
Adam: Did you ever give any thought to what’s best for sally, or did you just decide what’s best for you? You grabbed what you wanted, but now that you have your fun, she’s disposable?
Nick: You’re the one who discarded her. Remember? It wasn’t me. I never would’ve done that.
Adam: You can’t honestly expect me to believe that you had real feelings for sally, because there is no way.
Nick: You don’t know anything about me.
Adam: You know, once you get beneath the nice-guy exterior, you and I, we are not that different. We are both capable of anything in the heat of the moment, nick.
Sally: [ Sighs ] Gentlemen. Is there a problem?
Sally: Is everything okay, or do you need a referee?
Nick: It was nothing. How you holding up?
Adam: [ Chuckles ] See, this is the look he uses when he wants you to think that he means it. The puppy-dog eyes, the furrowed brow that gives the “I’m compassionate” vibe. “I’ll make everything better. Just tell me where it hurts. Even though — ignore the fact that I’m the one who hurt you.”
Nick: Man, shut up.
Adam: It’s obvious that he used you to hurt me, and now that he’s done with you, he’s cutting you loose.
Nick: None of that’s true. Adam’s having a lousy morning. We just happened to cross paths. I’m a convenient target.
Adam: Look, I don’t have time for this. I have more important things to deal with.
Nick: You don’t believe anything he said about us, do you?
Sally: [ Exhales sharply ] When he’s hurt, he lashes out. I don’t know. Maybe it makes it easier if he genuinely believes it. But, no, I never thought for a second that he was right about us.
Nick: I’d ask you how you’re doing, but —
Sally: I’ve been better. I just kicked into survival mode.
Nick: And what does that mean for you?
Sally: Means I start spouting helpful sayings, like, “when one door closes, another door opens,” or, “I was just warming up. Stay tuned for my next act,” or, “what the hell were they thinking? I’m the best thing that they’ve seen in ages.”
[ Chuckles ]
Nick: I admire how resilient you are. I’m just sick about how this whole thing played out.
Sally: Yeah, that makes two of us.
Nick: I’ll do anything I can to help you.
Sally: There’s something i need to say, nick, and it’s going to be really hard for you to hear.
Jack: I haven’t told anyone else about diane’s involvement with this man who was laundering money.
Kyle: So this is not public knowledge?
Jack: Not yet. I just found out myself yesterday. Ashley knows about tucker recruiting diane and his plan, but not about the rest.
Summer: Understood.
Jack: I just thought the two of you should know the whole story and the context in which the whole thing happened.
Kyle: It’s difficult news to hear, but better to know the truth.
Jack: I’m asking both of you to keep it to yourselves.
Kyle: Of course. This is not news I want to go spread around town. “Hey, did you hear what my mother was up to while she was pretending to be dead?”
Jack: I’m sure you both have questions, as did I.
Summer: I’m sorry. I just — I can’t help but wonder why she told you this now. Is the timing another calculation on her part? Is she sharing this information to avoid it coming out another way later?
Jack: In a way, yeah.
Kyle: Meaning what?
Jack: Diane learned that phyllis continued to talk to talia morgan.
Kyle: With the investigative journalist?
Jack: Yes, once she realized that phyllis had not given up on her, would never give up on her, that there were people in town, like nikki, who would be more than happy to offer phyllis an assist. She worried that this story, or part of it, would surely come to light.
Summer: My mom promised me that she’d stopped trying to implicate diane, but she just kept on digging?
[ Scoffs ] Looks like diane wasn’t the only one who’s been lying.
Phyllis: Oh, god. You guys, you guys, we did not work this hard to get rid of diane just to have jack forget and forgive her.
Nikki: I am shocked that he was able to get past the fact that diane used his own granddaughter to manipulate him. I mean, that every single move was carefully choreographed.
Ashley: Yeah, it’s disgusting.
Nikki: Wait a — whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait. We are forgetting a very important element here. Diane wasn’t working alone. And we happen to have an in with her coconspirator. So how are things developing with tucker?
Phyllis: Yeah, I mean, there’s got to be more to the story.
Nikki: Something too sordid for jack to forgive.
Ashley: Yeah, well, I did go straight to tucker when I found out, and I asked him to tell me everything about him and diane. I was hoping to maybe catch him off guard. You know, I didn’t have to find out the truth was out.
Nikki: And?
Ashley: Well, he said that he and diane were two of a kind, you know, two lost souls who were just trying to find a little forgiveness in a crazy, mixed-up world. It sounded a bit altruistic and straight from the heart.
Phyllis: Huh. I’m starting to wonder who’s working who.
Ashley: Okay, what do you mean?
Phyllis: Well, this is all on me now.
Nikki: Wait, what? Where are you going?
Phyllis: I am going to take care of this and make sure that bitch doesn’t wriggle off the hook.
Skin your face will envy?
Sally: I appreciate the offer.
Nick: It’s the least I can do. I thought you were an incredible asset to newman media. I’m just really sorry you’re getting the short end of the stick.
Sally: Thank you.
Nick: Before I came here, i told my sister and father once again that I think they’re making a terrible mistake letting you go.
Sally: You didn’t have to do that.
Nick: My favorite part was when they accused me of letting my personal feelings for you cloud my judgment.
Sally: [ Scoffs ]
Nick: I wasn’t able to change their minds.
Sally: [ Sighs ]
Nick: But, sally, I’ll do anything I can to help you.
Sally: Thank you… but, no. I don’t want your help. Or adam’S. Or anyone’S. Whatever comes next, I will find it on my own.
Diane: Wait. When you say you don’t intend to take jabot away from ashley, what aren’t you saying? I mean, what would you have done with jabot’s financial information had I been able to deliver it to you? What — what are you planning?
Tucker: Seeing as how our collaboration has come to an abrupt end, I don’t think the details are really any of your concern. Poor, poor diane. It must be so agonizing, constantly looking over your shoulder, wondering where the next threat is coming from.
Diane: [ Scoffs ]
Kyle: On one hand, I feel for my mom. She must’ve felt so vulnerable after being used by two powerful men. But on the other, I don’t know how I can ever trust her again.
Summer: I am a lot less torn than you are. My mom lied to me. I’m pissed.
[ Doorbell rings ]
Kyle: Well, she must have some sort of radar where you’re concerned, because she’s here.
Summer: Damn it. Let her in, I guess.
Kyle: [ Sighs ]
Phyllis: Hey, you’re back. I’m looking for jack. How was it?
Summer: It was even better than we expected.
Phyllis: Oh, great. Okay, well, you don’t look too happy for two kids who just came back from their honeymoon. How long have you been back?
Summer: [ Sighs ]
Kyle: Long enough to know why you’re trying to track down my father.
Phyllis: Oh, good. Well, I don’t have to tell you, then. You know about tucker and diane conspiring in L.A. Good. I’m glad you know. So you also know that she’s not the saint that she’s pretending to be.
Kyle: My father told us a lot of things.
Summer: Including the fact that you’ve been meeting with talia morgan since the beginning and that you never stopped digging up dirt on kyle’s mom, even after you swore to me that you would.
Phyllis: Yes, because there was a lot to dig, summer. I’m not the bad guy here, kids. Alright, don’t come for me.
Summer: [ Sighs ]
Phyllis: You guys have been going on and on about how I’m filled with hate and rage regarding diane. She couldn’t be trusted. I was right the whole time. I’m not going to say I told you so, but, hey, guess what. Told you so. There’s enough time for that anyway.
[ Sighs ] So… what are you going to do about diane now, kids?
