Victoria: You got my invite for the meeting with the semiconductor firm that we’re acquiring?
Nick: Got it. I’ll be there.
Victoria: And you’re on top of the publicity team as far as making the announcement?
Nick: On it. Let’s talk about another one of our possible acquisitions. Are you still planning on acquiring chancellor-winters?
Victoria: Full steam ahead.
Nick: And you have run this by dad?
Victoria: I have. And he seems to be fully behind it.
Nick: Surprised you didn’t lead with that news.
Victoria: Yes, no, I’m very excited that dad is on board. Newman acquiring chancellor-winters would be a total game changer.
[ Sighs ] I’m sorry. I-I know I’m a little bit preoccupied today.
Nick: No, all good. Everything okay?
Victoria: Yeah, it’s fine. I-I just might need to run out for a little while. I might be a few minutes late for the meeting. So if you don’t mind getting the ball rolling, that would help me a lot, and I’ll be there as soon as I can.
Nick: Of course. You want to talk about it, vick? You do seem rattled today.
Victoria: I thought I was doing a better job of hiding things, but I guess you know me too well.
[ Sighs ] I have to deal with a personal matter with one of the kids, and it cannot go wrong.
Chelsea: Oh, hey.
Billy: Hi.
Chelsea: Do you mind if i join you?
Billy: No, please.
Chelsea: I’m really glad i bumped into you, actually. I wanted to thank you again for agreeing to tell johnny the truth about my connection to him. And for helping me convince victoria.
Billy: Oh, I don’t convince victoria to do anything. She makes up her own mind.
Chelsea: Well, despite her initial reservations, she seemed very understanding and open-minded.
Billy: Oh, that’s victoria most of the time. She’s very capable of seeing all sides of the situation.
Chelsea: Well, as far as my side goes, I promise, I plan to be very patient about the timing. You know, I know you and victoria need to find the perfect moment to talk to johnny, so…
Billy: Actually, you’re not gonna have to wait for very long. We plan on telling johnny today.
Audra: Thanks for meeting me this morning. I wanted to continue our conversation when I was well-rested.
Nate: I get the feeling that you’re sharper on no sleep than most ipo advisors are after eight hours.
Audra: [ Chuckles ] I’ll take the compliment. Sometimes, I do calculate profit/loss statements in my head to help me drift off.
Nate: [ Chuckles ] Tell me why I can see that.
[ Chuckles ] So, what would you like to know before walking into chancellor-winters?
Audra: None of my questions will matter if chancellor-winters isn’t going public. I’m hoping to hear during our meeting, but do you know if an official decision has been made?
Nate: I haven’t heard anything yet, but that just makes me more optimistic that it will happen.
Audra: In that case, why don’t you give me the lay of the land, the dynamics behind the scenes at the company? I like to know all the players before the games begin.
Lily: So I’m having the video call set up. Before we hop on, I just want to make sure that we’re still on the same page with the decision we made last night.
Devon: Yes, we are still on the same page, and I have not changed my mind one bit.
Lily: Okay, good. Alright, well, let’s do this.
Devon: Okay.
Jill: Hey there.
Lily: Hey. Good morning.
Devon: Thanks for hopping on with us, jill.
Jill: I’m just intrigued as to why you wanted to talk.
Devon: Lily and I are in agreement, and we are ready to take chancellor-winters public.
Jill: Oh, fantastic. Listen, you have made the right decision. From now on, chancellor-winters is going to be unstoppable.
Sally: So, last time we pitched to victoria, I just think we tried to cover too many topics at once. I’m just worried that our agenda got a little muddled, like we’re just trying to throw ideas at a wall, hoping something sticks. So this time I want to be more focused. Like, maybe we just go hard on our top two or three priorities.
Chloe: Okay, so you’re saying you want to just consolidate our to-do list?
Sally: Yeah, I mean, there’s so much we want to do, I just don’t want our enthusiasm to get the best of us.
Chloe: Yeah. Mm. Agreed. You know what? Since we’re all fueled up, you know, why don’t we just head back to the office and finish up?
Sally: Sounds good.
Adam: Hi, ladies. Plotting world domination this morning?
Sally: Every morning.
Adam: I don’t doubt that. I would never bet against you.
Sally: Smart man.
Chloe: Okay, what’s going on here? ‘Cause this polite banter is really freaking me out. So either we’re all just okay now, or someone is suddenly ready to explode.

Jill: I’m thrilled to get things moving. Oh, and you should connect with that ipo advisor that I recommended.
Lily: We are, with audra charles. We’ll be meeting with her later this morning.
Jill: Great. Wow. I’m loving how everything is just coming together.
Lily: Yeah, we are, too. I got to say, though, devon took some convincing.
Devon: Mm, I — that’s true. I did. Little bit.
Lily: But we’re on the same page now, and I assured him that we’ll orchestrate this in a way where we retain control of the company even after going public.
Jill: That’s exactly what i want. And by the way, where are your coos? I thought billy and nate would be in on this call. After the last one, I have to admit, I was a little concerned about nate.
Devon: There’s no need to be. That’s all been put to rest.
Jill: Okay, good. So billy and nate will be in on the meeting with miss charles.
Devon: Correct. Nate will be there.
Lily: Yeah, billy will be here later, as well. He’s just dealing with a family issue.
Jill: Is everyone okay?
Lily: Yeah, everyone’s fine. I’m sure he’ll fill you in later.
Jill: I won’t keep you, then. I have to tell you that I’m very excited about these latest developments, and I’ll check in with you later.
Lily: Okay. Thanks for everything, jill.
Devon: Talk to you later.
Jill: Okay.
Devon: Alright. Um…hey. I know that, uh, family always comes first, but what’s really going on with billy? ‘Cause for him to miss this meeting and then maybe miss the one with audra, it makes me question if his heart is really in this.
Chelsea: You’re going to talk to johnny today?
Billy: Yeah. Yeah. I’m going to go pick him up, and then we’re going to go — we’re going to go meet victoria.
Chelsea: Wow, that’s really exciting. Wow. I know I said earlier I was being patient, but that wasn’t entirely true. I could hardly sleep last night, realizing that johnny was going to know who I really am soon. I just didn’t realize it was going to be this soon, but —
Billy: Well, once we decided it was the right thing to do, we thought, “why wait?” Of course, as we’ve talked about, there’s no way to know how he’s going to react to the information.
Chelsea: Of course. I understand, and I’m not expecting any miracles right off the bat. This would be a lot of information for anyone to process, let alone a little boy of that age.
Billy: You know, johnny, he’s very attached to his family. You know, he likes his routine. And this is going to be a titanic change in his life.
Chelsea: I promise not to interfere with anything, but I do think that this will be a first big step towards something really healthy and rewarding for all of us.
Billy: I hope you’re right.
Victoria: Billy and I have come to a decision that we’re going to tell johnny that chelsea is his biological mother.
Nick: Wow. That’s huge. I know that’s not a decision you could’ve come to very easily. I remember a few years back, adam wanted to go to christian and tell him that he was his biological father. I was able to do some damage control, and, frankly, my boy was just too young to understand, but I know at some point in the future it’s something we’re all going to have to deal with.
Victoria: Up until now, I put it out of my mind. I just pushed it away, feeling that we would tell him eventually.
[ Sighs ] But chelsea has been asking questions lately, and somehow, I don’t know how it’s possible, but my little boy, he’s old enough to know the truth. He’s old enough to have a say in what comes next.
Nick: Vick, you are johnny’s mother. He adores you. You’ve been with him every step of his life, even before he could take his own steps.
Victoria: I know that deep down, and I’m always going to want what’s best for him, but I’m really — I’m just praying that I made the right choice.
Sally: Nothing is about to explode between me and adam, I’ve moved on. However, we both still work and live in this town, so I’m hoping that things can remain pleasant between us when we see each other around.
Adam: Completely agree. I have come to the conclusion that moving on is the best thing for both of us, as well. You made it pretty clear the other day there is no future for us, so I am stepping back to let you focus on the things you need to focus on. There’s no hard feelings, no reason for any awkwardness.
Sally: Great.
Adam: Well, I should… go. Okay.
Chloe: Okay, that exchange was civil and downright mature. I’m really proud of you for focusing on your own life instead of that jerk.
Sally: Yeah, well, I’m not that mature. That jerk is still on my mind but less and less every day.
Chloe: Onward and upward.

When moderate to severe
ulcerative colitis persists…
Nate: As you may know, jill is a force to be reckoned with.
Audra: Just one of the many reasons I liked her when we met.
Nate: She’s one of a kind, for sure. But these days, jill seems less interested in power and control than she is in providing a financial legacy for her family.
Audra: Got it.
Nate: Jill handpicked lily winters to run chancellor before the merger. It was lily’s idea to combine the two companies. She’s really hitting her stride as co-ceo and is only getting stronger by the day.
Audra: Sounds like my kind of woman.
Nate: Then there’s billy abbott, lilly’s coo.
Audra: Jill’s son.
Nate: Mm-hmm. And lily’s significant other. But that’s not the reason he has the job alone. Billy really knows what he’s doing, yet he is content in letting others take center stage.
Audra: You haven’t mentioned the other key player, devon hamilton.
Nate: Mm. Devon brought hamilton-winters to the party. He’s nothing if not focused and single-minded.
Audra: Mm.
Nate: Now, why don’t you tell me how you got into this business?
Audra: There’s plenty of time for that later. Right now, we have a meeting to get to and, hopefully, a company to take public.
Chloe: Okay, so let’s dig into this list of priorities.
Sally: Yeah, why don’t you start whittling them down? I’m just gonna go upstairs for a quick meeting with nick.
Chloe: Oh, you want me to go with you?
Sally: That’s okay. I think he just wants a brief one-on-one.
Chloe: You’ve been doing a lot of one-on-one meetings with nick lately.
Sally: He’s a good boss. He just wants us to succeed.
Chloe: Yeah, well, that’s — that’s great, because we really do need him on our side. The last thing we need is any more conflict. Just feels good just to focus on the work.
Nick: [ Knocks on door ] Glad I caught you. Did you get my text? Can I talk to you for a second?
Billy: Alright, remember what your coach said? You got to dribble with both feet. Find an opening. Go — oh. Oh-ho! Look at him. Look at him. He’s getting better.
[ Sighs ]
Victoria: You know, there’s really no way to prepare for this, but he had a good night’s rest, and he had a big breakfast.
Billy: He always eats a big breakfast.
Victoria: [ Sighs ] I can’t tell you how many times I wanted to grab ahold of them this morning and tell them how much I love him, but I knew he would just roll his eyes at me.
Billy: You know, you may feel like he’s outgrowing your love, but he’s not. He never will.
Victoria: [ Sighs ] Thank you.
Billy: What do you think? You ready?
Victoria: Just let me watch him just for another minute.
[ Breathes deeply ] I tried to ground myself. I knew eventually this day was going to come, but, honestly, I’ve had years to prepare for it emotionally, and still it’S…
[ Sighs ]
Billy: It’s been a long road to get here, you know, a journey that started before he was even born. We wanted a family so badly, and I made a lot of mistakes out of desperation, things that I did wrong in that time.
Victoria: Don’t have to go there, billy. It’s okay.
Billy: All I’m saying is that I have regrets, but him being our son, coming into our life when he did, that is definitely not one of them. He’s such a sweet, innocent kid. He’s been a joy from the moment he came to us.
Victoria: He’s the greatest& joy of my life.
[ Sighs ]
Billy: Remember how he used to smile in this bed, in this little crib, sleeping?
Victoria: Yes, he was the happiest baby ever.
[ Sniffles ]
Billy: Yeah. All those bedtime stories, he would just…
Victoria: Oh, god.
Billy: …Get swallowed up in all of it long after katie fell asleep.
Victoria: Yeah, I didn’t think you were ever going to get out of there until morning sometimes.
Billy: Oh, I could’ve read to him all day. Some of my favorite memories.
Victoria: [ Sighs ]
Billy: [ Sighs ] I just can’t believe that sweet little kid is so grown-up.
Victoria: Yeah.
Billy: You know, I got to say, whatever was going on between us all of that time, he had a very loving, stable home. You deserve most of the credit for that.
Victoria: You were a wonderful father. And you will continue to be.
Billy: And you will always be his mother. Forever.
Victoria: Thanks.
[ Sighs ]
Billy: What do you say? Is it time to let this be more of his life story than ours?
Victoria: Yeah. I’m ready. I’m ready.
Billy: Hey, buddy, come over here for a sec.
Victoria: Johnny, hey, honey…
Billy: Hey.
Victoria: …Come sit down. There’s something that we need to talk to you about. Music (I swear)
Chloe: It’s actually my fault that sally is running a bit late. We got super into our work, and now we’re just busy making things happen.
Nick: I love hearing that.
Chloe: So I’ll give you guys some privacy to talk.
Nick: Does she know about us?
Sally: I haven’t said a word to anyone.
Nick: Me neither.
Sally: Good. So you wanted to talk to me about something work-related?
Nick: Partly.
Sally: Is it something I should be concerned about?
Nick: No. It’s all good. I was wondering if you wanted to, uh, discuss it over dinner.
Sally: Can I check my schedule and get back to you? I have another meeting that I have to attend that I do not plan on missing or even being late for.
Nick: Yeah. Just let me know.
Sally: Will do.
Nick: [ Exhales sharply ]
Lily: Billy is behind us doing the ipo.
Devon: Yeah, but that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m asking, is he fully committed to chancellor-winters in general? Because it’s going to take everyone being at 100% to pull off this ipo.
Lily: Look, the family issue that he’s dealing with is very important, but he has recommitted himself to this job and everything it entails.
Devon: Are you trying to convince yourself or me? You can tell me the truth. What’s happening with him?
Lily: Well, I mean, I guess sometimes I feel like billy is pushing himself a little too hard to make this position work for him.
Devon: Okay.
Lily: You know, because when he talks about it, he talks about it in terms of supporting me, which I appreciate, but i think, to do this job, you know, with everything it entails, like the hard work and the long hours and the stress, you have to love it. And I know that he wants to love it, but I think you can’t really force something that isn’t there.
Nate: Hey, lily, devon.
Lily: Hi.
Nate: Let me introduce you to audra charles, chancellor-winters’ ipo miracle worker.
Audra: It’s nice to meet you.
Lily: Yeah, we’ve heard great things about you from jill.
Audra: I plan to live up to them.
Nate: Based on our earlier conversation, I have no doubt she will.
Chelsea: Nick?
Nick: Hey, chels.
Chelsea: Hi. I was looking for victoria.
Nick: Yeah, she’s out of the office right now. I’m sure she’s with billy and johnny. Vick told me everything about, you know, what’s going on with you guys.
Chelsea: Right. Sure. I bet. Yeah, I’m just trying to rein in my anticipation. That’s why I came here instead of, you know, calling billy. I didn’t want my name popping up on his phone at an inopportune time during a very delicate conversation.
Nick: Yeah, that’s the right move.
Chelsea: Yeah, just trying to give him some space.
Nick: Well, I’m sure you’re wondering how — how it went. It’s got you on edge, I bet.
Chelsea: I’m not going to lie, it’s a little nerve-racking, but my thoughts and my heart are entirely with johnny right now. I mean, this is big news, something that could impact a child’s life forever.
Billy: So your mom and I were just sitting here reminiscing about how lucky we are to have you in our life, and I know that we’ve talked about this in the past, but after mom had your brother reed, the doctor said she wasn’t able to have any more kids until we were very pleasantly surprised with your sister. But you, uh — you remember all that stuff, yeah?
Johnny: Uh, yeah. I’ve heard the story all my life. I grew in mom’s heart, not her stomach. I know.
Billy: I guess we’re just wondering if you have any questions about that?
Johnny: Not really.
Victoria: We just wonder if maybe you ever think about your birth mother.
Johnny: No.
Victoria: Because it’s okay if you do. It wouldn’t hurt our feelings at all. You have every right to wonder about it and to want to know about it. And, um… look, we feel that you’re at an age where it just — it might be the right time.
Billy: You know, the woman that gave us a chance to be a family, she lives here. She lives here in genoa city.
Victoria: You know her.
Johnny: What?
Victoria: Chelsea. Connor’s mom.
Johnny: [ Breathes deeply ] But we just saw her at the pool the other day. Were you all planning on telling me this? Behind my back?
Victoria: No, no, it’s not like that.
Johnny: Well, what’s it like, then? Because you asked me if i wondered about my birth mom, and I said no. You just — you told me anyways? Why? What’s really going on here? Is something going to change? Don’t mind me. I’m just the flu.
“The young and the restless”
will continue.
Lily: So great to put a face to the name.
Audra: Same here.
Lily: Yeah, so billy will be here later, but this is my brother and co-ceo devon hamilton.
Devon: Hello.
Audra: Your reputation precedes you.
Devon: I hope that’s a good thing.
Audra: That man who built hamilton-winters into what it is today? How could it not be? Nate has been singing your praises.
Lily: Oh, I didn’t know that you two knew each other so well.
Audra: We met by pure coincidence last night. I was at a local coffeehouse, and I recognized him from the media coverage of your launch party. Then he gallantly took me out to breakfast this morning to let me pick his brain a little.
Lily: Okay, great. Well, I’m glad you two are getting along and that you’re familiarizing yourself with the company, ’cause I think that’ll come in handy.
Nate: Does this mean…?
Lily: Yep, chancellor-winters is going public.
Nate: That’s exciting.
Audra: A smart decision, in my opinion.
Lily: Yeah, thank you. I think we’re all in agreement on that.
Devon: Yeah.
Lily: So let’s get down to business, yeah?
Audra: This is where it gets fun. Let me tell you why I’m here and what I can do for you. My purpose is to walk you through the ipo process from start to finish, offering advice and recommendations before, during, and after the actual offering. Yeah, there are a lot of things you just couldn’t know if you’ve never done this before.
Lily: Yeah, and we haven’t done it before, so can you be a little bit more specific?
Audra: Of course. So the first thing I’ll do is an ipo-readiness assessment. Assuming that goes well, I can offer project management services, technical accounting, and help with the sec reporting. There is a lot of paperwork to file, so we’ll put together a timeline that will keep us on track as far as what we need to do and what’s coming up next. I’ll oversee the drafting process and stay on top of the deadlines to make sure things go as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
Devon: Well, you sound like exactly what we need, somebody that has a lot of knowledge and experience in this area.
Audra: And I look forward to joining forces with you. This is clearly a team of all-stars, and working together, we’ll be unstoppable.
Lily: I love it. Your energy is infectious.
Audra: It’s rooted in data. But based on the research I’ve done so far, I am confident that this could be the most satisfying business move you will ever make.
Nate: You two definitely made the right decision.
Victoria: [ Sighs ] Nothing is going to change. That’s not why we told you.
Billy: No, we just thought you should know. You’re getting older, you know?
Victoria: Other people know. It might come up at some point. We didn’t want you to hear it from anyone else, sweetie.
Johnny: Great, so everybody knows that my birth mother lives in town? You told me. Thanks. Now, I don’t want to talk about it ever again.
Billy: Johnny.
Nick: I’m sure this revelation will have a huge impact on johnny’s life, just like I know it’s going to have a huge impact on yours.
Chelsea: Thanks for understanding. And I’m not trying to stake a claim to johnny. I completely respect billy and victoria’s roles as his parents. They’ve done a wonderful job.
Nick: Vick is the best mom a kid could have.
Chelsea: I know in my heart i did the right thing giving johnny to them to raise. I know — I knew then I needed to take a step back so he could live a beautiful life, one that I couldn’t give him at the time. You know, he deserves to have an amazing family, a loving family, without all the baggage I had back then. I’m just hoping that johnny will understand I did what I did out of love.
Nick: Look, my nephew is an awesome kid. He is open-hearted and empathetic. That’s because of the way vick and billy raised him. He’s at a tricky age, but I know he’ll understand how much you care about him.
[ Cellphone vibrates ]
Chelsea: Excuse me. Oh, my god. It’s from billy. It’s done. Johnny finally knows who I really am.
[ Sighs ] Alright, the reason why your dishes
Lily: Well, that was very productive. Thank you for laying things out so clearly and objectively.
Devon: Yeah, we appreciate that, and we look forward to next time.
Audra: Do I take that to mean I’ve been officially hired?
Lily: Yeah. Right?
Devon: Yeah, I think so.
Lily: Yes, you have the job.
Audra: Great. I will get to work right away and circle back when it’s time for another meeting. I’m truly excited about this.
Lily: Good. Well, thank you.
Devon: Yeah, take care.
Lily: Jill’s instincts were spot on. She’s fantastic.
Devon: Yeah, I feel like we’re in really good hands. But we probably should have asked your opinion before we officially brought her on board. What’d you think?
Nate: I approve if you guys approve.
Devon: Yeah? I would assume you would have a stronger opinion since you got to know her before the official meeting.
Nate: I hope you’re not trying to start something when we’re finally in a good place again.
Devon: How’s that me trying to start anything? It was a compliment. You obviously made a good impression on her, which is great for our company.
Nate: [ Chuckles ] In that case, thanks.
Victoria: I’m sorry I missed the meeting. Things with johnny went longer than I thought.
Nick: Yeah, not a problem. I handled it. Everything okay?
Victoria: Honestly, I don’t know.
Nick: What happened?
Victoria: [ Sighs ] I’m not sure I’m ready to talk about it.
Nick: Yeah, I get it. Just so you know, chelsea came by here, very anxious for some news.
Victoria: Well, chelsea can wait. She’s not my priority. Right now, I just came by to pick up a few things so I can go home and spend some more time with johnny.
Nick: So it didn’t go well.
Victoria: [ Sighs ] It went worse than I expected.
Chelsea: How did johnny take the news? Does he have a lot of questions? I mean, I’m sure he does, but what I mean is —
Billy: Chelsea, um… he’s going to need some time to process the information.
Chelsea: Yeah, of course, but, I mean, what was his initial reaction? I’m assuming shock and surprise, but was he at least a little relieved to find out it was me? Because he knows me, you know, he’s comfortable with me.
Billy: Chelsea.
Chelsea: Don’t you think this is going to help him in the long run? Does he want to see me?
Billy: [ Sighs ] Look, um… we’re not going to push things with him.
Chelsea: Right, well, I’m just wondering of ways I can help the situation. You know, like when he gets to know me in this context, I’ll be here. I’ll be waiting.
Billy: I don’t think you’re hearing me. This news, it really threw him. You know, johnny’s a very happy kid, and he doesn’t want his world to change. And we’re not going to pressure him to do anything that he doesn’t want to do.
Chelsea: Well, I hate that it was so hard on him.
Billy: And the last thing we’re going to do is make it harder on him. To be honest [Sighs] It’s all catching me off guard, this immediate want to be a participant in his life. It’s not what we discussed when we talked about telling him the truth, and this was always about him. It should be about what’s best for johnny.
Chelsea: That’s what I want.
Billy: Except it seems like you want more.
Chelsea: I just want johnny to be okay. Everything else, um… everything else is just about what he — what he wants and what he can handle, so, um… okay, well, thanks for filling me in. I got to go.
Billy: [ Sighs ]
Why hide your skin
Adam: Hey. How you doing?
Chelsea: I’m fine, adam. You don’t need to worry about me.
Adam: I’m not worried. I just… I got a call from connor this morning. He said he scored two goals in his game last night?
Chelsea: Yeah. Yeah, he’s really coming into his own on that field.
Adam: Hey, I had a thought. Do you remember when you wanted to take connor to see anita? Maybe long term?
Chelsea: I obviously remember. I also remember your response.
Adam: Well, I’m still not in favor of that, but I was thinking that we could finally do that “something together as a family” thing, maybe take him to that amusement park he’s been begging us to go to.
Chelsea: You hate spinny rides.
Adam: Yeah, but I love my kid.
Chelsea: And you think we could be together for hours without being at each other’s throats?
Adam: Chelsea, of course we can. Okay? We’ll divide and conquer the park. You can do the spinny rides, and I will get wet on the log rides. It’ll be modern parenting at its finest.
Chelsea: I’ll talk to connor about it.
Adam: Well, no time like the present. Why don’t we do it together?
Chelsea: Because it’s not a good time for me, adam. I’m having a bad day. Why are you pushing this?
Adam: Just thought it might be fun.
Chelsea: You know, when i asked you if I could take connor away for a little while, you accused me of using my son to fix me. And, what, now you’re proposing this family outing, what, as a way to fix whatever’s wrong with me this week?
Adam: That is not what I’m doing at all.
Chelsea: Well, then maybe you’re trying to fill a hole in your own life. I would never use my son to make my life better. I just want to love him and take care of him. Why can’t anyone understand that?
Adam: Chelsea.
Nick: Vick, it doesn’t matter how old somebody is. Getting news like this can absolutely rock them. But kids are tougher than we give them credit for. Sometimes they can adapt to things better than adults can. I’m very confident johnny is going to understand this and maybe even someday make peace with it.
Victoria: I really hope you’re right, but I just can’t shake this awful feeling that I’ve made the wrong decision and that I’ve messed him up for the rest of his life.
Nick: You haven’T. Trust me, johnny is surrounded by people who love and care about him, including his uncle nick. You know, maybe — maybe we need to hang out, just go to the batting cages or maybe play some video games and absolutely not talk about this unless that’s what he wants to do.
Victoria: Well, I appreciate that. I do. And I may take you up on it, but I think that this is a much deeper issue, that it is not going to be easy for him to come to terms with.
Nick: Well, I’m here for whatever you need.
Victoria: Thank you.
[ Cellphone pings ] Who’s that?
Sally: [ Sighs ]
Devon: Hey, hey.
Lily: Hey.
Devon: Have you heard from billy?
Lily: Yeah, he’s on his way. He said he’s sorry for missing the meeting.
Devon: Are you ready to tell me what he’s really got going on, though?
Lily: Uh, I’m not really sure it’s my place.
Devon: I understand. There’ll be more meetings before the ipo. I’m sure he won’t miss them all.
Lily: No.
[ Cellphones ping ] Oh, wow. Audra sent over initial figures already.
Devon: It was really fast.
Lily: My god, it’s all really happening.
Devon: I know. It is. I’m feeling a lot better about my decision, too.
Lily: Yeah, me, too. And I couldn’t be more excited to be doing this side-by-side with you.
Devon: [ Chuckles ]
Nick: Just finalizing some dinner plans.
Victoria: Uh-huh. Okay.
