Kayla: [Gasps] Get your damn hands off me!R, get down!

Stephanie: Hello? Who’s there?

Steve: Grr, get down! Down.

John: Hit the lights, partner!

Paulina: What the hell’s goin’ on here? Get your damn hands off me!

[Dramatic music]

Kayla: [Gasps]

Orpheus: Hello, ladies.

Marlena: Orpheus.

Kayla: What do you want?

Orpheus: Just to catch up. May I come in?

Kayla: No.

Orpheus: Well, now, that’s not very friendly. Perhaps you’ll reconsider.

Ej: Oh, what the hell are gabi and ava up to now?

Abe: Ej?

Ej: Oh, hello, abe.

Abe: Sorry to interrupt. I’d been meaning to offer my condolences for your brother, jake.

Ej: How very gracious of you, considering it was because of him that you were shot last year.

Abe: Well, he didn’t pull the trigger; that wouldn’t be fair to blame him for that.

Ej: Still, not many people would be so understanding.

Abe: Well, I understand that a young life was cut tragically short, and for that, I am profoundly sorry.

Ej: Uncanny, isn’t it, that he and his twin, stefan, met similar fates? May they both rest in peace.

[Indistinct chatter]

[Sighs]

Shin: What do you mean “stefan left the building”? You were supposed to keep him sedated!

Rolf: Yes, but you and kristen also asked me to find a way to make him forget his love for gabi and focus on chloe instead.

Shin: None of which meant to wake him up and set him loose on salem!

Rolf: It wasn’t intentional. I was running some tests and making some adjustments, and he just woke up.

Shin: Oh, my god!

Rolf: And then he started asking all these questions, so I had to tell him he’s been on ice for the past four years.

Shin: Why did you waste time with small talk instead of just knocking him back out again?

Rolf: I tried, but he was so insistent. Huh? I was afraid he would overpower me.

Shin: Excuse me? The man was a vegetable for four years. He had a heart transplant a day or so ago. He couldn’t overpower a flea!

Rolf: I guess I’m all brains and no brawn, sir.

Shin: Damn it!

[Sighs] Do you have any idea where he might’ve gone?

Rolf: He went to reunite with his wife.

Stefan: Come on.

[Doorbell rings]

Ava: Do you wanna get that? I’m sure harold will take care of it.

Gabi: Seriously? You barely moved in, and you’re already acting like the mistress of the manor?

Ava: Yeah, that’s rich coming from you. You know, you’re not exactly ms. Down-to-earth, and from what I heard, when you lived here before, you had harold running six ways to sunday to fulfill your every whim.

Gabi: Oh, at least I was capable of opening my own damn door.

Ava: You wanna save harold the trouble? Be my guest.

Stefan: [Sighs] Come on, gabi. Open up!

Male announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the “days of our lives.”

[Soft orchestration]

Marlena: John and steve will be back in a moment.

Orpheus: [Chuckles] You can do better than that, marlena. I happen to know that black patch is otherwise engaged with some clandestine meeting that they think I set up with steve’s daughter. Apparently, they believe I lured her into a trap.

Kayla: And you had nothing to do with that?

Orpheus: No. As far as the case of the mysterious meeting’s concerned, I’m clean. Although, I am using it to my advantage. While john and steve are off protecting your daughter, I get to spend quality time with sweetness and doc.

Stephanie: What the hell are you two even doing here?

John: Sorry, sorry. I really–we thought you were someone else.

Paulina: Who?

Steve: The man called orpheus.

Paulina: The criminal that was pardoned by governor mitchell?

John: Yeah, yeah.

Paulina: Well, you two clearly need to have your eyes checked. Do I look like some villainous, old white man?

Steve: We’re very sorry, but we thought that this meeting was a trap. Orpheus has been threatening my family, and when I heard that my daughter was contacted by an anonymous client–

Stephanie: You leapt to an unreasonable conclusion and ambushed us! I assure you I am just as surprised and appalled as you are.

Paulina: So you’re steve and kayla’s daughter?

Stephanie: Yes, stephanie johnson from sjpr.

Paulina: Paulina price. I’m sorry I didn’t make the connection.

Stephanie: Oh, no reason you should have; johnson’s a very common name.

Paulina: Well, you were flying in from seattle. Still, I should’ve done my research.

Stephanie: No, please. The only ones here who should be apologizing are my father and john.

[Sighs]

Shin: Stefan went to look for gabi. If he was on foot, he couldn’t have gone far.

Rolf: He took my car keys.

Shin: What? Is there anything else you neglected to tell me? Did he happen to also steal a plane and skywrite “stefan dimera is actually alive”?

Rolf: I assume he went to the dimera manse since that’s where he and gabi were living at the time of his death.

Shin: And where gabi is right now. If she finds out stefan’s alive, she’ll never choose me over him. Damn it, rolf! Because of your bungling, I’m gonna lose her!

Gabi: I said I was able to open my own door. But this isn’t mine anymore. It’s yours.

Ava: Oh, well, now that we’ve got that straight, what job are you gonna give me at dimera?

Gabi: [Scoffs] I was thinking you could start in the mail room and work your way up. I hear it builds character.

Ava: [Chuckles] Oh, well, I’ve got plenty of character to burn, thank you very much, and you’re gonna have to do a lot better than that if you wanna keep your swanky ceo office.

Gabi: All right, well, what job do you want?

Ava: I don’t know, something interesting, something glamorous, something that’ll piss off ej.

Gabi: Hmm, he’s really getting under your skin, isn’t he?

Ava: He accused me of trying to seduce his son.

Gabi: Were you?

Ava: No.

[Scoffs] Look at you; you’re someone to judge. Jake told me you practically slept with him yourself.

Gabi: Uh, johnny and I are practically the same age.

Ava: [Scoffs]

Gabi: It’s gross, the idea of you being with him.

Ava: [Scoffs] Oh, okay, well, believe me, from the look on his face, “gross” was the last thing he was thinking.

[Doorbell rings] Oh, for god’s sake! I’m coming!

Gabi: If anybody asks, I’m not here.

[Door shuts]

[Sighs]

[Dramatic music]

Ava: This can’t be happening. I must be dreaming.

Stefan: This is no dream.

Ava: You’re alive? You’re really alive?

Stefan: Yes, but–

Ava: Oh, my god.

Stefan: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, ma’am. Ma’am. You okay? I–

[Sighs]

Gabi: [Sighs] I wonder what’s taking ava so long.

[Sighs]

Ej: [Sighs] Our family has suffered so many losses over this past decade– jake, abigail, stefan, andre, father, and of course, lexie.

Abe: You know, ed, I can’t believe that it’s been more than ten years since she passed away.

Ej: Mm. She truly was the heart of the dimera family.

Abe: Well, not just the dimeras. Lexie held the hearts of many people.

Ej: To lexie, who is missed just as much today as the day we lost her.

Abe: To lexie.

Ej: [Grunts] Oh, I just realized I haven’t congratulated you yet on your new marriage. I know my sister would be very excited to know that you found love again.

Abe: That’s very nice of you, ej. You know, it means a lot.

Ej: And that new wife of yours certainly is a force to be reckoned with.

Abe: [Laughs] Well, you’ll get no argument from me.

Ej: [Chuckles] As I’m sure you know, paulina and I exchanged a few words over johnny and chanel, but I’ll admit, I ended up respecting the hell out of her.

Abe: So do I.

Ej: So where is your lovely wife tonight?

Abe: You know, I am not sure. She had some mysterious meeting she had to attend.

Stephanie: Dad, you totally lied to me. You said that you would back off–that I had the right to make my own decisions.

Steve: You do, but I wasn’t about to let you walk into a dangerous situation totally unprotected.

Stephanie: You’re the danger here! You physically assaulted poor ms. Price.

Paulina: Call me paulina, please.

John: You know, once again, I’m really sorry about grabbing you like that.

Paulina: Yeah, okay, okay, I’m fine, I’m fine. Apology accepted.

John: Okay, thanks.

Stephanie: I thought you were supposed to be having dinner with mom and marlena. Were they in on this idiotic plan too?

Steve: No, no, absolutely not. They didn’t know we were planning to follow you until right before we left.

Stephanie: [Sighs] Nice. So you two ditched your wives to go on some wild goose chase. I’m sure they can’t be too happy about that right about now.

Steve: [Clears throat]

Kayla: How did you know about steve’s suspicions, or that he and john followed stephanie to her meeting?

Orpheus: Well, it turns out that those beautiful yellow roses I sent you were only part of the gift. While you were signing for the flowers, the friendly delivery man was planting this tiny listening device, and rather strategically, as it turns out.

Kayla: So you listened to everything that we said today?

Orpheus: My mother was right. Eavesdroppers never hear anything good about themselves. I had no idea steve was so eager to kill me. My feelings were hurt.

Kayla: Well, if you had continued to listen, you would have heard me talk him out of it, and he promised me that he would not go after you. But you hurt me or marlena, I swear john and steve will hunt you down and make you pay for whatever you do.

Marlena: Kayla’s right. If you back out of whatever you’re planning right now, nobody has to get hurt.

Orpheus: But where’s the fun in that? Moderate to severe eczema still disrupts my skin.

Kayla: What are you planning on doing with us?

Orpheus: Well, certainly nothing I’ve done before. I do hate to be predictable. No, no, this time I think I’m gonna try something I’ve never done before–something that will leave a lasting impression on john and steve.

Kayla: Dear god.

Orpheus: But not in this dreary apartment. No, what we’re gonna do requires a change of scenery.

Marlena: What do you mean? We’re not going anywhere with you.

Orpheus: [Chuckles] You actually think you have a choice? Come on, ladies. Where’s your spirit of adventure? Let’s go have some fun.

John: Hey, steph. Let’s not go too hard on your dear old dad here. He had the best of intentions. You gotta admit; all this secrecy here was a little suspicious.

Steve: Yeah, what was up with that anyway? Meeting in an abandoned office building, not telling stephanie who you were?

Paulina: It’s called discretion. I was thinking of hiring sjpr to consult on abe’s campaign for governor, but since he hasn’t exactly committed to running yet, I didn’t want that to leak out.

Stephanie: Which makes perfect sense. If you cost me this job, I will never forgive you. So how do you know abe?

Paulina: [Chuckles] He’s my husband.

Stephanie: Oh! Congratulations! I knew he had remarried, but i didn’t realize it was to one of the most successful real estate moguls in the country.

Paulina: Ah, you’ve heard of me?

Stephanie: Of course. Your success story is legendary. Abe is one lucky guy.

Ej: So, um, is paulina working on some big real estate deal?

Abe: Well, not that I know of; I think her mysterious meeting is probably about me.

Ej: You?

Abe: When my wife has made up her mind, she doesn’t stop until she gets what she wants.

Ej: [Chuckles]

Abe: And right now, what she wants is for me to be governor.

Ej: Governor?

Abe: Mm.

Ej: Oof, that’s quite an ambitious move. I still remember when you first ran for mayor. You had the misfortune of running against a real son of a bitch.

Abe: [Chuckles] Well, you know, to be fair, you and I both did things that we regretted back then.

Ej: Oh, that’s very generous of you, and much as I might hate to admit it, the better man won. I just hope your bid for governor isn’t as contentious.

Abe: Well, actually, I haven’t decided whether or not to run.

Ej: You should. I still recall our mayoral debates quite vividly, and as much as I fought tooth and nail against you, I could tell that you were going to be a great man. Passion–the conviction in your voice when you were speaking about all the things you wanted to change to make salem a better place– it was inspiring, and lo and behold, you have actually kept your promises to our fair city. Salem is thriving because of you. The state could use a little bit of the abe carver magic as well. If you do decide to run for governor, you definitely have my support.

Abe: Really?

Ej: Mm. I know you and I have had our differences in the past, but we’re still family. Besides, it never hurts to have friends in high places.

Abe: [Chuckles] I knew you had an angle.

[Both chuckle]

Stefan: Ma’am. Ma’am, come on, you have to wake up. Damn it. I don’t have time for this. I need to go find my wife.

[Gasps]

[Grunts]

[Dramatic music]

Gabi: Ava, who was at the– ava, oh, my god! Ava, are you okay? Ava! Hello? Li? What are you doing here?

Only daisy cottage cheese will do

Shin: I came to see how you were doing.

Gabi: I’m fine! Ava isn’t! Did you see what happened to her?

Shin: Well, I opened the door, and when she saw me, she fainted. Fortunately, I managed to catch her before she could hurt herself.

Gabi: So you just stayed outside?

Shin: Well, I–went outside to call 911, but then–

Gabi: You didn’t call– never mind; I’m gonna call.

Shin: No need for that. I didn’t call 911 because I assumed ava wouldn’t want us to make that kind of fuss. She’s never been a fan of the police or any authority figure for that matter.

Gabi: Yeah, that’s true.

Shin: Let’s just get her to the couch and see if we can revive her, and if we can’t, then we’ll call.

[Dramatic music]

Abe: You know, I’m gonna order some food. Do you want anything?

Ej: No, I should head home now.

Abe: You make that sound like a punishment.

Ej: Ugh, in a way, it kind of is.

Abe: Well, I was wondering why you were drinking here and not at the mansion.

Ej: I invited jake’s widow to move in, and there’s been some friction.

Abe: Not surprising.

Ej: Let’s just say ava’s quite like paulina but without the charm.

Abe: Well, maybe you should uninvite her. It is your house.

Ej: Well, there are some benefits to having her around.

Abe: I see. So you are playing an angle?

Ej: [Chuckles] I suppose.

Abe: [Chuckles] Look, um, word of advice– be careful. Ava vitali is–well, she’s mellowed in recent years. But she still has a history of being mentally unstable, and I’m not sure that’s all gone away, meaning that you don’t wanna cross her.

Ej: Well, I’ll take your concern under advisement, and I hope you do take my advice as well. You could accomplish great things as governor.

[Indistinct chatter]

[Sighs]

[Door squeaks open]

[Door clicks shut]

Stephanie: Paulina, I’m definitely interested in discussing your thoughts about abe’s campaign, that is if you’re still willing to consider me and my firm after all this.

Paulina: Don’t worry. Child, I will not hold your daddy’s overzealous behavior or his friend’s incredibly strong grip against you or–not even against him. Steve knows better than anyone else what lengths I would go to myself to protect my daughters, so no harm, no foul.

Stephanie: Thanks, paulina. I appreciate that.

Paulina: Mm-hmm. So, um, shall we get on with our meeting?

Stephanie: That sounds great.

Steve: Well, I guess that’s our cue to leave.

John: Gee, you picked up on that too? Let’s go.

Stephanie: So please do run along, you two. I’m sure mom and marlena can’t wait to have their charming husbands back home.

Kayla: What do you plan on doing with us?

Orpheus: Well, we could revisit some of our favorite spots–stockholm, my private island, a simple little warehouse down by the docks.

[Chuckles] But I’d really rather surprise you ladies. Shall we go? Ah! Ooh!

-Well, I’m not 100% sold yet. -Okay, have you considered —

Gabi: I mean, she’s still out cold; are you sure she didn’t hit her head on the way down?

Shin: I don’t think so.

Ava: Where is he?

Gabi: Oh, who?

Ava: Jake. Jake, he was just at the door.

Shin: You’re mistaken, ava. That wasn’t jake at the door. It was me.

Ava: No, it was jake. Okay, I–I–I saw him. He–he–he was wearing the hospital gown that he died in– only he didn’t die. Jake’s alive, gabi. Jake is alive.

Gabi: Ava, you just must’ve been imagining things.

Ava: No, I touched him. He was real.

Rolf: [Grunting] Why are you so damn heavy?

Ava: I swear to you, jake is alive.

Shin: That’s impossible, ava. You must see that’s impossible.

Ava: Okay, well, I’ll prove it to you.

Shin: Ava!

Ava: Jake!

Shin: Wait!

Ava: Where are you?

Shin: Ava.

Ava: Jake! Where did he go?

Steve: On second thought, um–

Stephanie: What?

Steve: Maybe john and i should hang around a little while longer.

Stephanie: Paulina and I were just going to talk business. We don’t need to bore you.

Steve: Well, this area is deserted. Orpheus could take advantage of that.

Stephanie: Dad…

John: Hey, come on, buddy.

Steve: [Sighs]

John: Let’s just chalk this one up as a loss, okay? Come on.

Steve: Listen, promise me you’ll come straight home after this. Okay, little sweetness?

Stephanie: Did you just call me “little sweetness” in front of a potential client? Wha–[Sighs] Paulina’s practically family.

John: Let’s go. You’re stepping in it.

Stephanie: Can we just start over again and pretend none of that just happened?

Paulina: [Chuckles] Sure thing, little sweetness.

Stephanie: [Sighs]

Orpheus: Yeah, after all these years, you two are still feisty. I like it.

[Sniffles] I mean, of course, it wasn’t entirely unexpected, which is why I brought these gentlemen.

Kayla: You are making a big mistake.

Marlena: She’s right, you know. This vendetta against us, you need to let it go.

Orpheus: Why would I do that? When you all decided to band together and bring me down, you cost me a lot of years, a lot of time with my children that I can never get back.

Marlena: You did that to yourself.

Marlena: That was your choice.

Orpheus: And I choose to blame you. I think I deserve a little quid pro quo, and the more painful, the better. Besides, I hate to lose. Shall we go, ladies? Can’t keep vengeance waiting.

[Tense music]

Ava: I–I don’t understand. Where did jake go?

Shin: Ava, I’m telling you. I was the one at the door.

Ava: Oh, you think that I can’t tell the difference between you and jake?

Gabi: Ava, look, calm down. We’re just–we’re trying to help you, okay?

Ava: Okay, you wanna help me? Help me find jake.

Ej: What’s all the commotion about?

Ava: Ej, your brother’s alive; jake is alive.

Ej: What?

Gabi: Ava thinks that because she thought she saw jake.

Ava: No, I did see him.

Shin: Gabi, I don’t think we’re helping the situation. All we’re doing is upsetting ava.

Ava: Okay, stop acting like I’ve gone crazy. I know what I saw.

Shin: Now that ej’s here, perhaps we should go.

Gabi: I don’t wanna leave her like this, I–

Ej: Go. I will handle things from here.

Ava: Oh, great, so now I’m being handled, huh?

Gabi: Good luck.

Ava: I know what I saw. Jake was here.

[Door clicks open]

[Door clicks shut]

Gabi: It’s so strange. One minute, ava’s perfectly fine, the next, she’s seeing ghosts?

After trying lots of things to manage her

Ava: Well?

Ej: I searched the entire house.

Ava: The basement, the tunnels, crypt? I mean, look, I know that the dimeras have a tendency to misplace people–

Ej: I looked everywhere, ava. There’s no sign of jake.

Ava: Ej, I didn’t imagine this. I swear. I–I swear I didn’t this time.

Ej: This time? Are you saying that you’ve seen jake before?

Ava: Look, the first time, it was right after he died, and I was still in the hospital, and I was–I was standing by his body and it– he appeared to me, and the next time was the morning after when he came to my apartment and he– he told me I wasn’t gonna get rid of him that easily. As real as both of those encounters felt, I knew that it was in my head. But tonight, tonight was different. I touched him. I felt the warmth of his skin. He was here, flesh and blood, just as real as you and me. I am telling you, he was wearing his hospital gown. He–he–he had on his wedding ring. Look, I know how this sounds. I know–I know it sounds like I lost it.

Ej: Actually, I think you’re experiencing some post-traumatic stress.

Ava: No. No, I’m telling you he was here. I swear to you it was real.

Ej: Think about it, ava. You admitted yourself that you’ve had these visions before. You’re obviously desperately missing jake.

Ava: Okay, I do. I do, but it’s–it’s–

Ej: Your heart has obviously gotten the better of your mind, and that is nothing to be ashamed of. In fact, it seems only natural after everything you’ve been through.

Ava: Maybe you’re right. Maybe it’s the only way to explain what I saw.

[Door beeps]

Gabi: Whew! That was definitely not how I envisioned our night out together was gonna play out.

Shin: Trying to assure ava that she didn’t actually see her dead husband? Yeah–[Chuckles] I wasn’t anticipating that either.

Gabi: I’m just glad you were there to help me deal with her. Wait, why were you there? You said you wanted to see how I was doing?

Shin: I knew how desperate ava was for you to give her a job at dimera, and I was worried that she might be playing hardball, so I figured you could use some backup.

Gabi: What, you don’t think I can play a little bit of hardball? You know I work on multi-million dollar deals all the time.

Shin: I know. But this one’s personal. There’s so much animosity between you and ava. When I imagined what might be going on over there, I panicked, and I had to make sure everything was okay.

Gabi: You’re so sweet and thoughtful.

[Chuckles] Like, sometimes, I think I don’t deserve you.

Abe: Stephanie!

[Laughs] Oh, my goodness. Oh, I didn’t know you were back in town! Oh! It is so wonderful to see you.

Stephanie: It’s great to see you too, abe.

Abe: So you’re here visiting your parents?

Stephanie: Partly, yes. But I might be sticking around salem for a while, thanks to your wife.

Abe: Uh-oh, what’s going on here?

Paulina: [Chuckles] Well, as I’m sure you are well aware, stephanie runs a very successful pr company out west.

Abe: I had heard.

Paulina: So I’ve asked her to lend her expertise to your campaign for governor.

Stephanie: And of course, I said yes, because I couldn’t think of a better man for the job.

Abe: You know, my wife might be a little premature.

Paulina: Abraham, what are you saying?

Stephanie: Did you already hire someone else?

Abe: No, no, but there may not be a job. Paulina, you know I’m ambivalent about this. Actually, I haven’t made up my mind whether to run or not.

Paulina: Well, then it’s high time you did. Abraham carver, do you want to be governor of this great state or not?

Steve: Sorry that turned into such a fiasco. I guess my protective instinct got the best of me.

John: Ah, don’t sweat it. You might’ve missed the mark this time, but you know orpheus is still out there somewhere just waitin’ to make his move.

Steve: I’m really not looking forward to telling kayla what just happened.

John: Yeah.

Steve: She’s gonna flip out.

John: I know. Marlena’s gonna give it to me too, so let’S…

Steve: Well, let’s get this over with.

John: What the hell?

Steve: Kayla!

John: Doc–doc! Doc!

From prom dresses

[Cell phone beeps]

[Machinery beeping]

Rolf: I don’t know how you did it. As young mr. Shin pointed out, you were unconscious for years, recently had a heart transplant, and yet, you still found the strength to get out of this bed and drive halfway across town. I guess I greatly underestimated your love for gabi hernandez.

[Cell phone beeps]

Shin: [Sighs]

[Cell phone beeps] I ordered some room service since you never got dinner at ava’S.

Gabi: Thank you. You know, as much as ava gets on my nerves, I–I felt for her tonight.

Shin: You and that… big heart of yours.

Gabi: Don’t get me wrong. I mean, I never pity ava vitali. I just–I understand how she feels. That’s exactly what happened to me after stefan died.

Shin: [Clears throat] What happened?

Gabi: Well, I was at–I was at the cemetery, um, waiting for his burial to start, and I had this vision that stefan showed up, and for one beautiful moment, I imagined that he was back with me, that rolf had figured out some way to save him, but yeah, it wasn’t true. As much as I–as much as I ached for him to be real, as much as I–I would’ve given my soul for him to be standing right there. It was just in my head. Stefan was gone for good.

Ej: Would you like me to get you something stronger, calm your nerves?

Ava: No, I’m good, thanks.

Ej: [Clears throat]

Ava: Although, I’m curious. Why are you being so nice to me all of a sudden? Hmm? I mean, when you left here, you–you were acting like a–

Ej: Jerk.

Ava: Yeah, well, I had a different word in mind.

Ej: [Chuckles] Let’s put down my earlier behavior to me being protective of myself.

Ava: Who is in no danger from me. I told you I am not interested in johnny.

Ej: And now that I’ve had time to cool off, I believe you. And I apologize again if I upset you. I am especially sorry if my reaction in any way contributed to what’s happened tonight.

Ava: No, it didn’T. I’m sure it didn’T. It’s not your fault.

Ej: Be that as it may, maybe this is a good opportunity for us to start over– no more hidden agendas. No more suspicion and accusation. How does that sound?

[Soft dramatic music]

Gabi: It’s all well and good, but you know, when I came in here, I felt some tension between you and ej– felt a little sexual.

Ava: I’m gonna call it a night.

Ej: [Clears throat] Sleep well, ava, and if there’s anything you need, please don’t hesitate to knock on my door.

Ava: Thank you, ej.

Ej: Well, that was enlightening, wasn’t it, father? Abe was right. It appears the widow dimera is a tad unstable.

Paulina: I know you’ve been wondering about whether you’re the right man for the job. But you know who doesn’t have doubts? Anyone who knows you. Kate, nicole, roman, john, marlena, and stephanie all believe in you, and so do I.

Abe: You know, none of those people could be considered unbiased.

Stephanie: Well, I’m sure you’ve got a lot of support out there, abe, and our polls will prove it.

Paulina: Uh, you want unbiased? Have you read any of the press that you’ve been getting about the wonderful job that you’ve done here in salem? That’s why I’ve been pushing this so hard! But will you be smart enough to recognize that you are the best person for the people of this state? Because I am. But hey, hey, it’s entirely your call.

Abe: All right. All right, I’ll do it.

Paulina: Really?

Abe: Yeah. You win.

Paulina: [Gasps] Oh, and you will too! I just know it!

[Both laugh]

Both: Mm!

[Both laugh]

John: Everything’s going to voicemail. I’ll give rafe a call.

Steve: John…

[Dramatic music]

“Sorry I missed you, and I wouldn’t tell the police or anyone else about this if I were you. That would be a fatal mistake.”

John: [Sighs] Orpheus.
