Nikki: Well! Hi, sweetheart!
Nick: Look at you. Looking like a million bucks.
Nikki: Oh-oh-oh! Thank you.
Nick: Hopefully, victoria is feeling as relaxed and rejuvenated as you look.
Nikki: If that’s your way of asking if she was able to loosen the hold that ashland has on her, the answer is no.
Nick: Don’t tell me that whole trip was a waste of time.
Nikki: It was meant to bring clarity, and she has come back to town feeling more conflicted than she ever was.
Nick: I mean, what are we gonna do? How do we convince victoria that ashland is toxic and that she’s better off without him?
Nikki: [ Sighs ]
Ashland: Don’t open your eyes.
Victoria: [ Chuckles ] Why shouldn’t I?
Ashland: It might break the spell. You see, I’ve been trying to figure out a way to make last night last forever.
Victoria: Are you afraid that I might see things differently in the cold light of day, that I might regret taking you back?
Ashland: The thought had possibly crossed my mind a time or two, yes.
Victoria: Thank you. It’s a beautiful morning. I’m happy to be here… with you. And I very much appreciate you agreeing to take things slowly.
Ashland: We can take all the time you need, as long as you haven’t changed your mind.
Victoria: I still love you.
Ashland: I want this moment to last forever.
Victoria: Unfortunately, my family…
[ Sighs ] …Especially my father, think that I am incapable of making up my own mind about anything.
Ashland: Hmm.
Victoria: And they will continue to judge me and feel compelled to control me unless…
Ashland: Unless what?
Victoria: Unless I take a stand and let them know, in no uncertain terms, that it ends now.
Ashland: What exactly are you saying?
Victoria: I choose you.
Adam: So, has locke finally left town?
Victor: Well, if you had asked me that question last night, I would have said the restraining order did the trick. Ah, but that son of a bitch is still in town.
Adam: Have you seen victoria since she’s got back?
Victor: Yeah. Apparently, she and nikki had a wonderful time in switzerland.
Adam: Do you have any sense how my sister’s feeling, which way her heart’s leaning?
Victor: That’s not important right now, son. What you and I need to focus on is to get rid of that ashland locke, you hear? There’s no reason for him to stay in town.
Adam: Well, he has a reason. He loves victoria. Now that she’s back, it’s gonna be extremely hard to get rid of him.
Kyle: Saw allie heading out for a run earlier.
Summer: She seems to be settling in.
Jack: Yeah, I think she was initially overwhelmed by all the noise of a big family, but she’s relaxed a bit, and she’s finding her place in it all.
Summer: Speaking of family, mom flew off to savannah at the crack of dawn after daniel called her.
Jack: I hope everything’s alright.
Summer: It’s fine. She’s just been working so hard and doing so much lately, i figured she needed a diversion, and daniel was happy to provide it.
Jack: A diversion far away from diane.
Summer: Things were really escalating between those two.
Jack: She maybe explain it to you?
Summer: Uh, she didn’t admit to anything, except for her deep and abiding hatred for diane.
Jack: So, you jumped into action.
Summer: I had to, for everyone’s sake. Diane and kyle are in this fragile place right now. They’re getting to know each other and figuring out what their relationship is gonna look like. The last thing they need is my mom declaring war on her.
Kyle: You made the right move. I appreciate it.
Jack: I appreciate it, too.
[ Doorbell rings ] Thank you, summer.
Diane: Good morning, jack. Glorious day, isn’t it? And I have a fabulous idea how to kick it off.

Jack: So, what is this fabulous idea of yours?
Diane: I would love to treat everyone for breakfast, including harrison if he’s here.
Kyle: He’s already down for his morning nap. Someone got him all wound up last night, and it took forever to get him to sleep.
Jack: Guilty as charged.
Diane: Oh, who wouldn’t want to spend as much time as possible with that beautiful boy? As a fellow doting grandparent, I stand in solidarity with jack.
Jack: Unfortunately, I have a lot of important phone calls to make this morning, so I’ll have to take a rain check on breakfast.
Diane: Oh, I’m sorry to hear that.
Kyle: Well, next time. It’ll just be the three of us, assuming you’re up for it, summer.
Summer: Why not?
Diane: Okay!
Summer: [ Laughs ] I’m gonna let the nanny know that we’re headed out. I’ll meet you at the car.
Kyle: Alright.
Jack: Um…did you want to talk to me about something?
Summer: I just wanted to make sure that you’re okay.
Jack: Why wouldn’t I be?
Summer: I could see how tense things were between you and mom, and she mentioned that you guys had a fight. She didn’t tell me what it was about, but, based on the rant that she went on about diane, i could figure it out. I just think that she’s put you in an incredibly difficult position.
Jack: I’m fine. Sweet of you to worry, but you better get going. You got a full day ahead of you.
Summer: Yeah, but I just —
Jack: Listen. Everything is going to work out the way it’s supposed to.
Summer: [ Sighs ] You really believe that, don’t you?
Jack: I do. Get going. Have fun.
Summer: Alright.
[ Door closes ]
Nikki: The simple truth is that victoria is tired of listening to our advice.
Nick: She’s shutting us out when she needs us the most.
Nikki: [ Sighs ] You know, she’s a grown woman. She has been through some incredibly tough times. She could have shut down entirely after everything that happened with J.T., But she didn’T. She pulled herself together.
Nick: Then billy came into her life, and that fell apart.
Nikki: Then she managed to open her heart again.
Nick: And in walked ashland.
Nikki: You know, she likes to promote this image that she’s tough, but that’s all it is, is an image. She’s led by her emotions, just like the rest of us.
Nick: Hatred is an emotion she should hang onto as far as ashland is concerned.
Nikki: Believe me. I hear you. But how many times have you forgiven phyllis or sharon? How many times have I done that with victor? Letting go of love is one of the most difficult things anyone can do.
Nick: So, what are we supposed to do, mom? Just sit around and cross our fingers and hope that ashland doesn’t hurt her anymore?
Nikki: Well, darling, I don’t know what else we can do.
Nick: How did you leave things with her?
Nikki: She said she wanted her space, so I gave it to her. But I’m concerned because i haven’t heard from her since last night.
Victoria: This situation with my family has become untenable. You know, they’re never gonna stop trying to interfere in my personal life or allow me to make my own choices. It was my decision whether or not I wanted to forgive you and if I believe that you truly love me.
Ashland: I’m so glad you’ve realized that I do.
Victoria: And if I try to go to them with this decision, you know they’re not going to accept it. They’re gonna try to manipulate the situation to try to drive us apart.
Ashland: We’re not gonna let that happen.
Victoria: [ Sighs ] I’m so sick and tired of them trying to control me. Sometimes it feels like I can’t breathe anymore.
[ Cellphone rings ]
[ Sighs ] Yes, it’s my mother. I’m sure she’s wondering if I’m doing anything impetuous or human or enjoyable. I wish you could have seen them trying to convince me to stay at the ranch last night.
Ashland: I’m sure they were afraid you would find your way back to me.
Victoria: That’s childish. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Completely omitting the fact that my father used his power and his influence to try to keep you away from your son, to pressure you into leaving town. It’s totally inexcusable.
[ Cellphone rings ]
[ Sighs ]
Ashland: Victor?
Victoria: I don’t want to talk to him, either.
Ashland: It might be important.
Victoria: Well, I’m sure that he just wants to make sure that I’m dutifully accepting what he’s done for the good of me and of course for the good of my family.
Ashland: Well, you might be missing out on a rousing speech.
Victoria: I don’t care! I don’t want to hear it anymore. It’s all been lies. The only thing I want is I want to start over, away from newman, away from this place, away from all of the people. And I don’t want to just imagine it this time. I actually want to do it.
Ashland: You really mean that?
Victoria: Yes.
Ashland: Then we have a lot to discuss.
Victoria: Yes, we do.
Ashland: [ Chuckles ] I’m amber, I’ve lost 128 pounds with golo,
Diane: So, phyllis is all the way in savannah?
Summer: Visiting daniel and his family.
Diane: Oh, well, that’s nice. I guess she’s a doting grandmother, too. Lucy, right?
Summer: I don’t know anyone who spoils kids better than my mom.
Diane: Oh, well, then, let the games begin. I have lot of time and presents to make up for. I promise I am going to take advantage of every minute I get to spend with harrison.
Kyle: Well, it turns out you might have more time to get to know your grandson than you originally thought.
Diane: I know the other day you mentioned the possibility, but I didn’t want to get my hopes up.
Kyle: Well, it was in the preliminary stages. Everything was very hush-hush.
Summer: But we can talk about it now. Jabot may be making an offer to purchase marchetti, in which case we would move the fashion house from milan to genoa city.
Diane: That’s incredible! Wow! Oh, and this is why you said you wouldn’t have to give up your dream job to move back home. This is a bold move for jabot.
Kyle: Mm. It was all summer’s brilliant idea.
Summer: Well, I can’t take all the credit. You put together a presentation for the board that is so layered and exciting that it deserves an award.
Kyle: Eh, she’s biased.
Summer: No, I’m not. Jack thinks it’s brilliant, too.
Kyle: The pitch is this morning. So, fingers crossed we get approval.
Diane: I’ll cross mine, too. Just know. I am so very proud of you. This is wonderful. When I think of you moving back here and being able to be part of your life, I…oh, I don’t want to be one of those people who cries in public, but…
Kyle: No, no, it’s okay.
Diane: Ah, I’m just so happy, you know, for you and for me. You are so young, and yet you’ve accomplished so much. This news is more than I ever dreamed of. Tell me all about marchetti.
Victoria: I do believe that you fell in love with me as deeply as you claim. And I know that it wasn’t part of your plan. I know that this was probably the last thing that you ever expected to happen, just like i never expected to forgive you for lying to me. But I love you. The love that I have for you is undeniable, and it’s so strong. I know you. I know your quirks. I know your flaws. I know even a few of your triggers. But it’s a part of who you are, and I love you, all of you.
Ashland: Well, acceptance is one thing, but wanting to run away with me, that’s —
Victoria: Away with you, yes. Away from the constraints and the burden of my family. I know you probably question my sincerity after I lied to you to try to get you to take that payoff, what you did. But this time I mean it.
Ashland: I’ll tell you what. I’m not gonna make any grand, sweeping promises. I’ll let my actions and my love for you speak for themselves. But loving you means I want you to consider all the consequences.
Victoria: I have considered them. It’s not gonna be easy walking away from the company that i love. But it’s worth it.
Ashland: I’m talking about your children. Billy’s not gonna be happy with this.
Victoria: He would never keep me from seeing them.
Ashland: Are you sure about that? Victor orchestrated a restraining order against me, and kyle went right along with it. Are you certain that billy’s gonna be okay with me spending time with his kids?
Victoria: Don’t worry about billy. I’m sure that we’ll be able to come up with some sort of an arrangement.
Ashland: Okay. And what about your parents? What about nick?
Victoria: [ Scoffs ] Well, they’ll either accept that my love for you has brought me to a place of forgiveness, or they won’T. I can’t keep trying to convince them.
Ashland: A wise decision. It would be a pointless exercise.
[ Both laugh ]
Victoria: Of course it’s a wise decision because I am the smartest woman that you know.
Ashland: [ Laughs ] Yes, you are. Listen, um… when you declare your independence from your family, I would suggest that you leave me out of it altogether. One mention of my name might trigger a reaction from them that you might not be prepared for.
Adam: Look — we just have to face it, that there is nothing any of us can do to stop ashland’s drive to be with victoria.
Victor: That seems to be the case, doesn’t it?
Adam: Well, the only person that can persuade him to leave town or convince him to stay is her, and I have a strong suspicion that she wants him to stick around.
Victor: [ Chuckles ] That fits your narrative, doesn’t it? You don’t think victoria should be running the company anymore because she’s involved with ashland locke. Think again, son.
Adam: My ambitions are not the issue here. You’re refusing to see what’s right in front of your face — that victoria is still in love with ashland locke, and this trip that you planned for her to get away so she could get over locke may have just done the opposite and may have just made her want him even more. So, what do you think we should do now? – Hey honey. – Hey dad.
Jack: Hey, there. How was your run?
Allie: Hi. It was fantastic. I love going out there. It gets my endorphins going — perfect way for a reset.
Jack: I know the feeling well. I was a runner for a lot of years. Now I have to do exercises kinder to my knees.
[ Groans ] Hey, it’s not a big deal. I can still hold my own on a tennis court.
Allie: Oh, no, it’s not that. It’s just, um, my dad and I used to go running together.
Jack: Is that right?
Allie: Yeah, he had to stop because of his knees.
Jack: Uh-huh. I’m terribly sorry. Genetics?
Allie: Yeah, probably.
Jack: Well, I have two things to say. I apologize for messing up your running with your dad, though I’m sure you found other ways to spend time together, and second, think about stretching. I’m telling you. Knee pain is no joke.
Allie: I got to find a backup exercise that’s easier on the joints.
Jack: You know what? There’s a new pilates place opening opposite chancellor park on main street, brand-new. You should check it out. You’re gonna be in town a little while.
Allie: Pilates? Okay. Okay, I will…if someone from the family joins me. My priority is getting to know all of you guys better.
Jack: Well, I love the sound of that, and whatever you want to see, whatever you want to do, I promise you, someone will want to accompany you.
Allie: You know ashley’s taking me to the jabot lab this afternoon?
Jack: Wow! I remember the first time I took keemo there.
Allie: The lab where he worked?
Jack: Yep.
Allie: How did that happen? How did he get hired?
Jack: Well, that’s easy. He loved the place. No, he was a very curious mind. He — he always wanted to know all the details on how our products were made, including the fragrances. Yeah, he took special interest there, and it was clear early on he had a real natural ability with chemistry. So, I encouraged ashley to hire him part-time as her assistant, and before long he gave up his job working at the family restaurant and came to work for her full-time.
Allie: God, I wonder what that was like for him.
Jack: He had an infectious joy and enthusiasm about the work. I’m sure if you asked him, he would tell you —
Allie: That it wasn’t work at all.
Jack: Yeah, we’re definitely talking about the same guy.
Summer: After I did more investigating, we realized that marchetti needed financial restructuring in order to stay afloat. So, kyle and I started kicking around the idea of jabot using this as an opportunity to get back into the fashion business.
Kyle: It’s a bold move. And marchetti is a big fish. It’ll take some work.
Summer: But we’re a good team.
Kyle: The best.
Diane: [ Laughs ] I’m so excited for you.
Summer: Well, nothing’s written into stone until we get approval from the board.
Diane: Oh, they’ll love the idea. They have to. It’s genius.
Summer: Hopefully.
Diane: Yes, and this is going to be another big move for you…again. So, if there’s anything I can do to help ease the transition, I’m right here.
Summer: Thank you.
Diane: Well, yeah, that’s what family does, or should do. I wish I could go back in time and be there for you for all these big milestones and even the quiet, everyday ones, like watching your sports or picking you up from school. But [Sighs] I want you to know that I want to be there for you now.
Kyle: Well, assuming everything goes well, we will have plenty on our plates and welcome all the help we can get.
Ashland: Ah, nice to see you, diane.
Diane: Hello, ashland.
Ashland: Hello, summer, kyle.
Summer: Is there something that we can help you with?
Ashland: Well, I just wanted you to know that I’m aware that you weren’t the one behind the restraining order, keeping me from seeing harrison.
Adam: Look — all I’m saying is that you need to be prepared. Ashland still has a hold on victoria.
Victor: There’s no way that she will be pulled back into that man’s clutches again.
Adam: Please tell me one time she hasn’t been confronted with the truth about ashland and run back into his arms. Why do you think anything is gonna be different now?
Victor: Because she’s too smart…too strong to fall for that man’s bull again.
[ Cellphone rings ]
Adam: Everything alright?
Victor: She wants to meet in her office, and she wants me to bring you along.
Nikki: Did you just get the same text I did?
Nick: From vic, asking us to meet her in the office? I wonder what that’s about.
Nikki: I don’t know. But I have a bad feeling about this.
Your mission:
“The young and the restless”
will continue.
Allie: So, on my runs, I’ve been listening to this new podcast.
Jack: Uh-huh. What’s it called?
Allie: It’s called “the grinning soul.”
Jack: “The grinning soul” — oh, I like the name.
Allie: Mm-hmm.
Jack: No, I never heard of it. What’s it about?-
Allie: All sorts of things. The host talks about everything from insomnia to feeling out of place. But right now I’m listening to this great episode about whether you should follow your bliss versus having, like, a game plan for your career and life.
Jack: Interesting.
Allie: Yeah. I’m curious. Where do you fall between that?
Jack: Um…I’m all for people finding happiness and fun after they develop a really good game plan.
Allie: Exactly! Okay, I know. Otherwise, it’s like whatever happens, happens, right?
Jack: So, who’s on the other side of this argument?
Allie: Sharon, your friend from the coffeehouse. Yeah, she’s pretty cool.
Jack: Yeah, she is. She’s a very special lady and apparently a fan of the, uh, “the grinning soul.”
Allie: Okay, it was actually her son noah.
Jack: Oh, noah. Yeah, you’ve mentioned him before.
Allie: Yeah, he’s pretty cool. Turns out we’re both listeners.
Jack: Noah’s a pretty interesting guy. And I would think on the finding-your-bliss front, his artist personality might lean that way, frustrating though that might be.
Allie: Yeah, I know, right?
Jack: Sounds like a pretty vibrant conversation.
Allie: Yeah, yeah. It was something. Anyway, I got to go. Ashley’s gonna meet me before we get to the lab.
Jack: Wait. She’s not picking you up at the house?
Allie: Oh, well, we’re meeting at the coffeehouse.
Jack: Oh.
Allie: Yeah, it’s a central location.
Jack: Yeah, yeah, and if you go there, you’re likely to run into the best coffee in town.
Allie: Okay, jack. I’m gonna see you later.
Jack: [ Laughs ] Bye!
Allie: See you later.
[ Door closes ]
Kyle: I’ve got nothing to say to you, ashland.
Ashland: It’s a hell of a thing, you know, to be told that I can no longer have any contact with this boy that I have loved for so long. Now, it makes sense that victor would do something like that. It’s right up his alley, manipulating the legal system. But what I find appalling is that you would go along with it so easily, that you would put harrison in a potentially painful situation so you could help victor newman exact his revenge.
Kyle: What’s appalling is a father telling his son he has a terminal illness, then pushing him to move overseas so he doesn’t witness your so-called “demise.”
Ashland: I’m leaving town. I would like to see harrison before I go just to say goodbye.
Kyle: Not a chance.
Ashland: So, to be clear, you are prioritizing your desire to punish me over what’s best for harrison.
Kyle: I will always put my son’s well-being first. That’s why I’m doing this. My willingness to go along with this restraining order has nothing to do with victor’s animosity towards you and everything to do with how poisonous you are. I will always protect harrison from that.
Summer: It’s done. There is no need to discuss this any further. We need to get to work.
Kyle: Yeah. You’re right. I’m sorry. We have to go.
Diane: Uh, no, I-i understand. I’ll get myself back to the athletic club.
Kyle: Thanks.
Diane: [ Sighs ] That couldn’t have been easy.
Ashland: It was not.
Diane: For what it’s worth, I’m sorry you’re going through this.
Ashland: It’s worth a lot. Thank you.
Diane: I’m sure there are plenty of people in this town who would pay for the pleasure of slapping me with a restraining order — what they wouldn’t give to keep me from reclaiming a place in kyle’s life. I’m just lucky that he’s a strong and independent thinker. He doesn’t allow other people to tell him how to feel or act.
Ashland: There’s a real power in taking that stance. It can come as a shock to people who are used to getting their way.
Victor: Hello, sweetheart.
Victoria: Hello, dad.
[ Door closes ]
Victor: I was getting concerned when you didn’t answer the phone.
Victoria: Well, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. I needed to frame my thoughts before I shared them with you.
Adam: Well, I’m just honored to have been included.
Victoria: This is something that the entire family needs to hear, regardless of how you and I feel about one another.
Nick: We miss something?
Victor: No, we just got here.
Victoria: Thank you all for coming. I know that you all have very busy lives — busy running around behind my back, pulling strings and making things happen that I would never approve of, orchestrating events so that the world spins exactly the way you want it to. Right, dad?
Victor: What are you talking about?
Victoria: You know, if only i had taken more time and paid closer attention, I could have predicted what your next moves might be. I mean, after all, you and I, we think a lot alike.
Victor: Not lately, unfortunately.
Victoria: You wanted ashland gone. You wanted to eliminate any reason that he might have to stick around. I’m sure that michael was probably just salivating when you told him the plan. He had that restraining order filed in no time flat. He probably had the judge on speed dial, ready to push it through. Those wheels of justice, they never spin faster than they do when victor newman is footing the bill. You, dad, you — you, who always preached to us and talked to us about the importance of family, you cut ashland off from his son. This time you’ve just gone too far. From the very first touch.
Summer: The presentation went really well.
Jack: I’ll say! It was electric.
Summer: We haven’t pitched like that together in forever.
Kyle: Turns out we still have our same rhythm.
Jack: I’m telling you. Once you left the room, the board of directors ran out of superlatives talking about your presentation. That’s why they voted yes.
Kyle: Unanimously.
Summer: Which is fantastic. It’s everything I’ve been wanting.
Kyle: We still have our work cut out for us. We have to pitch to angelina marchetti.
Jack: Which she’s still on board with this, yes?
Summer: One-hundred percent. When I told her just how bad things have gotten and how much money it was gonna take to dig her out, she was fully on board. She’s gonna welcome this chance to save her company, especially since jabot’s terms are more than fair.
Jack: That’s what I want to hear.
Summer: Is this really happening?
Kyle: Mm-hmm.
Summer: That we’re gonna be able to work together as a team again in genoa city with our friends and our family?
Jack: Keep in mind, this transition means a lot of late nights, a lot of long days.
Kyle: We wouldn’t have it any other way.
Summer: And if I can just figure out a way to get my mom and diane to peacefully coexist, everything would be perfect.
Ashland: It’s just so frustrating — no recourse, no way to fight this.
Diane: You don’t seem like the type of man who’s used to hearing the word “no.”
[ Both laugh ]
Ashland: You’re right. I don’t have much experience with feeling helpless, which is ironic, considering the fact that I put myself in this position by pretending to be helpless against a disease.
Diane: You did a terrible thing to the people you call family… to your wife. You told a lie that they claim is unforgivable. By the way, that is something that victor’s done countless times over the years. It’s unfair, what he’s done to you.
Ashland: You know, I used to have contempt for people who would claim something was unfair. I would say to them, “where in the hell did you come up with this fantasy that anything in life is fair?” But this — shutting me out of this boy’s life after so many years… I’m sorry.
Diane: No, don’t be. I wish there was something i could do to help you. But, as you know, I’m in a difficult situation. I’ve just started to rebuild my relationship with my own son.
Ashland: I understand. I can’t ask you to jeopardize your own situation by helping me with mine.
Diane: Well, I hope we can continue being friends, despite all this.
Ashland: Well, that would be nice. But I’m afraid it won’t be possible.
Diane: Oh?
Ashland: I meant what I said. I’m leaving town very soon.
Victoria: Before mom and i went away, I begged you to leave ashland alone. He was focused on protecting his relationship with his son. He had moved on.
Nick: No, he hadn’t, vic. We paid him a fortune to leave us alone, but he stuck around, planning god knows what.
Victoria: So, you of all people are alright with ashland having his son ripped away from him.
Nick: Vic, he practically begged kyle and summer to take harrison to milan so he wouldn’t have to see him in the late stages of his nonexistent illness.
Victoria: He loves that little boy. And dad — dad knows it. That restraining order wasn’t just to eliminate any legitimate reason for ashland to stay in town. Dad wanted to hurt him in the harshest and most painful way possible. Well, congratulations, dad.
Victor: Do you honestly think I regret for one moment what I’ve done to that bastard? He has finally reaped what he has sown! And as far as that little boy is concerned, harrison, he’s better off without that bastard in his life!
Adam: Why do you even care, victoria?
Nikki: He seems determined to stay in town and cause problems for everybody. That little boy should be protected.
Victoria: You mean me. I need protecting.
Nick: Why are you passionately defending this guy like he’s some kind of victim?
Victoria: You have no idea what’s best for me, nicholas. None of you do! And I am so sick to death of you trying to control me and manipulate me. This ends now. I’m done. I’m leaving.
Nikki: What exactly do you mean?
Victor: You’re leaving what?
Victoria: I’m leaving the company. I’m leaving this town. I’m going someplace where I can start over.
Dry skin is
sensitive skin, too.
Jack: I’m as optimistic as anyone, but I don’t think we’re ever gonna see peace between diane and your mother.
Summer: [ Sighs ] I wish someone would tell me exactly what happened between those two. Or was it something bigger between you and my mom, because I feel like I’m missing some important piece —
Jack: It doesn’t really matter who did what or said what to whom.
Summer: I think it does.
Jack: What’s important right now is that we take a moment to appreciate all that we have. Count our many blessings, and they are many. You and kyle and harrison are moving back to town for good!
Kyle: We’re so excited.
Jack: And jabot is expanding. My heart is full. So, I think it’s incumbent on all of us to hold onto those things and think about life moving forward.
Diane: Well, it’s too bad you’re leaving. I hardly got a chance to know you.
Ashland: Well, I wouldn’t say that. We confided in each other about many of our sins.
Diane: [ Laughs ]
Ashland: I think we are kindred spirits.
Diane: I guess you’re right. Good luck on your next adventure.
Ashland: I appreciate hearing that, especially from someone who actually means it.
Diane: If you’re ever back in town, if I’m still here, I’d like to buy you a drink.
Ashland: I’ll hold you to it.
Diane: You know, coming back to genoa city has given me a chance for a fresh start. I wish the same for you.
Ashland: That’s exactly why I’m leaving genoa city. And I think it might be the best decision I’ve ever made.
Victor: Will you come to your senses? You can’t possibly mean this. You aren’t going anywhere!
Victoria: Oh, I can imagine how difficult it must be for you, dad, trying to imagine that I’m not going to fall in line, and I’m not gonna do exactly what it is that you want me to do. But you know what? From now on, I am gonna live my life as I see fit.
Nikki: Alright, let’s just take a step back and talk about this.
Victoria: Oh, talk. But by talk, you mean listen, follow directions. Well, I am so sick and tired of playing by your rules. Why don’t you find another puppet?
Nick: Vic, this is crazy, alright? Doesn’t make sense.
Victoria: I’m choosing freedom, nicholas. I would think that you of all people would understand that.
Nick: By choosing a man who lied to you… who used you, who tried to bleed this company dry?
Nikki: Darling, we’re just trying to understand. Are you talking about leaving with ashland?
Victor: Please be honest with us. Is ashland locke coercing you in any way?
Victoria: You’re not hearing me. And even if you could hear me, you wouldn’t understand, because you never understand, and you know what? For the first time ever, I don’t care if you understand! For the first time in my life, I am proclaiming my independence. I’m reclaiming my life. That’s why I’m leaving.
