  • Apple TV+ Losing Alice – Friday, January 22 Show More
“Losing Alice,” a neo-noir psychological thriller from creator, writer and director Sigal Avin, is set to join Apple’s slate of sweeping international original series in a new co-production deal. Apple has partnered with Israel’s Dori Media productions in association with HOT on “Losing Alice,” which recently hosted its premiere as part of the We Are One: A Global Film Festival. The first season of the hotly anticipated, eight-episode series will stream worldwide later this year, exclusively on Apple TV+, and is currently airing on HOT in Israel. “Losing Alice” is a thrilling cinematic journey that uses flashbacks and flash-forwards in a satisfyingly complex narrative that takes the viewer through the conscious and subconscious of its protagonist’s mind. The series follows Alice (played by Ayelet Zurer), a 48-year-old female film director, who feels irrelevant since raising her family. After a brief encounter on the train, she becomes obsessed with a 24-year-old screenwriter femme fatale, Sophie (played by Lihi Kornowski), and eventually surrenders her moral integrity in order to achieve power, relevance and success. Through the prism of this female Faust, the series explores issues such as jealousy, guilt, fear of aging, and the complex relationships women have among themselves and each other. But above all, “Losing Alice” is a love letter for the still-too-rare female director. The series is created, written and directed by Sigal Avin. Promo

20/20 Airing Friday, January 22, 2021 (9:01 PM-11:00 PM EST) ‘20/20’ Reports on New Hampshire Murder Mystery That Unraveled Across the Country for Over Three Decades, Eventually Solved With Crucial Clues Provided by Cutting-Edge DNA Technology and a Mysterious 5-Year-Old Girl
‘20/20’ Features Interview With Daughter of Man Responsible for Crimes
“20/20” reports on a murder mystery that unraveled across the country for over three decades, including details about how cutting-edge DNA technology and a mysterious 5-year-old girl provided crucial clues that helped authorities solve the case. The story began in 1985 in the deep woods of New Hampshire’s Bear Brook State Park when authorities discovered a barrel, and years later a second barrel, containing the unidentified bodies of a woman and three children. In 2018, a local podcast renewed interest in the cold case and sparked a movement of citizen sleuths, working alongside homicide detectives, plus a genetic genealogist, who uncovered the true identities of three of the four victims in 2019.
“20/20” features an interview with Diane Kloepfer who is the daughter of Terry Rasmussen, the serial killer authorities linked to the case, who by then was dead. Kloepfer recalls the moment she learned her father’s shocking identity and his horrible crimes and reflects on what life was like with him. The two-hour program also includes interviews with siblings of victim Marlyse Honeychurch; and Armand Beaudin, the father of presumed victim Denise Beaudin. ABC News cameras captured the emotional moments at a funeral where the gravestone of two of the Bear Brook victims was finally given their names and as Rasmussen’s daughter met family members of some of the victims who lost their lives at the hands of her father. “20/20” includes interviews with those vital to the case including genetic genealogist Dr. Barbara Rae-Venter; websleuths Rebekah Heath and Ronda Randall; and Jason Moon, host of “Bear Brook,” New Hampshire Public Radio’s hit investigative podcast that helped crowdsource an investigation. The program raises questions that remain today about who is the unidentified fourth victim, and who and where is her mother. “20/20” airs Friday, Jan. 22 (9:01-11:00 p.m. EST), on ABC. (Rebroadcast. ABC OAD: 3/20/20).
ABC News’ “20/20” is an award-winning primetime program anchored by David Muir and Amy Robach. A proven leader in the long-form newsmagazine for over 40 years, “20/20” features hard-hitting investigative reports, in-depth coverage of high profile trials, unforgettable, character-driven stories and exclusive newsmaker interviews. In conjunction with ABC Audio, “20/20” produced top true crime podcasts “A Killing on the Cape” and “Cutthroat Inc.” “20/20” airs Fridays from 9:01-11:00 p.m. EST on ABC and is available to stream on ABC News digital platforms and Hulu.

Airing 1/23/21 (Saturday) (10:00 PM) THE WOMAN WHO TURNED AN ALABAMA MURDER CASE UPSIDE DOWN SPEAKS PUBLICLY FOR THE FIRST TIME AND A DAUGHTER LEARNS THE TRUTH ABOUT HER MOTHER’S KILLER IN “48 HOURS: THE 30-YEAR SECRET – THE TRACEY HARRIS MURDER” Preview
A young mother was found murdered in an Alabama river in 1990. Nearly 30 years later, the man long suspected as her killer was arrested. But just before trial, a confession turned the case upside down. Now, in her first television interview, the woman who changed the case speaks to 48 HOURS in “The 30-Year Secret – The Tracey Harris Murder” to be broadcast Saturday, Jan. 23 (10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Correspondent Maureen Maher and 48 HOURS report on the life of Tracey Harris, a hard-working, loving young mother from Ozark, Ala. and the investigation into her murder. Maher also speaks with the longtime suspect, Harris’ ex-husband Carl Harris; their daughter, Carolyn Aznavour, who grew up believing her father killed her mom; and the prosecutors who learned of the shocking secret that finally led to solving the case.
Tracey Harris disappeared on March 7, 1990. A week later, her body was found in a nearby river. Her death was ruled a homicide. From the start, Carl Harris appeared to be the only suspect. They had recently divorced and he had a girlfriend and witnesses reported that he abused Tracey. Harris, though, maintained he had nothing to do with Tracey’s death and denied allegations of abuse.
“I never put my hands on Tracey, never,” Carl Harris tells Maher.
“So all those people are lying?” Maher asks.
“Yes ma’am,” Harris responds. “I loved Tracey. She was the love of my life.”
Despite the suspicion, no arrest was made.
“Everybody thought I killed her,” Harris tells 48 HOURS. “Everywhere I turn, you know, you can hear them whispering in the background ‘there’s the man that killed Tracey.’”
“I knew my mom was murdered,” Aznavour tells Maher. She was just 4 years old when her mother was killed. “And then, as the years went on, I found out that it had to do with my dad.”
Aznavour also says she does not have any memories of her mother. “Family would always bring up stories about her, how sweet she was, how shy she was,” she says.
The Harris murder case languished until 2015 when the Ozark police cold case unit took another look. They focused heavily on Carl Harris. Then, 26 years after Tracey Harris was found murdered, Carl Harris was arrested. Prosecutors were confident in their case, until they reached out to Dawn Beasley, a friend of Tracey’s. Beasley had given a statement in 1990 describing abuse she says she witnessed. At first she refused to testify at Carl Harris’ trial. She said she was busy. But, then, she said something else.
“The most important reason I can’t testify is because you have an innocent man on trial,” Beasley says she told them. “I kept the secret for 30 years.”
They were days away from Carl Harris’ trial.
“I’ve thought about a thousand times the what-ifs,” says prosecutor Jordan Davis. “And that’s kind of nauseating … that we were that close.”
“This one was a complete roller-coaster ride towards the end … as far as an emotional situation, this was by far the toughest one,” adds Dale County District Attorney Kirke Adams.
48 HOURS in “The 30-Year Secret – The Tracey Harris Murder” is produced by Ruth Chenetz. Michelle Sigona is the development producer. Kat Teurfs is the associate producer. Richard Barber, Ken Blum and Michelle Harris are the editors. Lourdes Aguiar is the senior producer. Nancy Kramer is the executive story editor. Judy Tygard is the executive producer.

During the one-hour broadcast, Denahan tells NBC News’ Andrea Canning that Daniel and Mark “put up a strong enough defense of their home,” preventing the shooter, Roy Den Hollander, “from coming forward.” He explains, Whether it was their body posture, the way they angled the door, the attitude they portrayed, whatever it was, Hollander must have felt that way. And that’s why he fired immediately and then fled.”

Additionally, Judge Salas tells Canning: “I asked the agents, ‘why do you think he didn’t come into the house to come finish … I was his target. And the agent’s line, which will stay with me forever, is that, ‘He was met by superior forces.’ My son and his father.”
Salas’ son Daniel was shot to death by Hollander after Hollander dressed as a delivery worker and rang the Salas’ front door. Hollander then critically injured Salas’ husband Mark, but left before attacking Judge Salas, his original target.
