    ESPN to Exclusively Televise 2020 NBA Draft Lottery on Thursday, Aug. 20
    The 2020 NBA Playoffs will tip off on Monday, Aug. 17, with a quadruple-header, totaling more than 10 consecutive hours of live event coverage on ESPN. ABC and ESPN will combine to broadcast up to 44 NBA Playoff game telecasts, including up to 18 first-round games. ESPN will exclusively televise the 2020 Eastern Conference Finals and ABC will exclusively broadcast the 2020 NBA Finals. All games will originate from the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
    Additionally, the Western Conference top seeded Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James will appear in two games during ESPN’s first week of NBA Playoffs coverage. On Thursday, Aug. 20, the Lakers will square off with the Western Conference eighth seed in Game 2 of their series at 9:00 p.m. EDT on ESPN. The Lakers and James will then appear on an exclusive ABC primetime broadcast, SATURDAY, AUG. 22 (8:30-11:00 p.m. EDT) – “Los Angeles Lakers vs. Western Conference 8th Seed Telecast Presented by Mountain Dew” – Game 3 of their first-round series.     Survivors of heinous sexual crimes and the loved ones of victims face their tormentor in an updated encore of 48 HOURS: “The Golden State Killer,” to be broadcast Saturday, August 22 (9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Sneak Peek
    48 HOURS was there this week for the dramatic moments and raw emotion as victims of 74-year-old Joseph DeAngelo, known as the Golden State Killer, got their chance to confront him in a Sacramento, Calif. courtroom and tell their stories at his sentencing hearing.
    “The Golden State Killer” features Tracy Smith and 48 HOURS’ investigation into the serial killer, who has pleaded guilty to having raped at least 50 women and killing 13 people between 1975 and 1986 before he vanished. He had been dubbed the Golden State Killer by late true-crime writer Michelle McNamara, who was hoping to crack the case and write a book when she died on April 21, 2016. At the time, McNamara was married to comic Patton Oswalt, who opened up to Smith about McNamara’s work and the care she had taken in digging up clues on the case.
    A former police officer, DeAngelo was arrested in 2018 after police used DNA technology to tie him to some of the crime scenes.
    48 HOURS: “The Golden State Killer” is the first part of a Saturday night double feature.
    At 10:00 PM, Erin Moriarty and 48 HOURS investigate the murder of Dr. Teresa Sievers, the police’s search for what happened, and the stunning conclusion, in “The Plot to Kill Dr. Sievers” to be broadcast on the CBS Television Network. Did a Florida man hire a look-alike to kill his wife? That’s what prosecutors say happened in the mysterious murder of Sievers, who was found bludgeoned to death in the kitchen of her Bonita Springs, Fla., home in 2015. There were no immediate suspects, and her husband, Mark Sievers, had an airtight alibi. The investigation took police on a 1,100-mile trek and turned up unlikely suspects: career criminal Jimmy Ray Rodgers and Curtis Wayne Wright, Mark Sievers’ best friend, who also happened to look just like Sievers. Wright even shaved his head when Sievers started losing his hair. The case would be far from closed with the initial arrests. Instead, the arrests led to more questions about what happened and another unexpected twist.

Host comedian Emma Hunter visits a family’s home and conducts a surprise fridge raid. The competition commences back at the FRIDGE WARS studio where the family’s fridge is recreated for both chefs. Once the clock starts, the chefs have 45 minutes to get dinner on the table – cooking with ingredients they’ve never seen for people they’ve never met! When time’s up, the family takes their place at the dining room table and tastes each meal, scoring them on look, taste and originality – without knowing who cooked what. (#103). The series of events that followed triggered a media frenzy and forever changed the lives of all involved, including the five African American and Hispanic teenagers – Raymond Santana, Antron McCray, Yusef Salaam, Kevin Richardson and Korey Wise – who were convicted in connection with the attack due to their confessions, which they said were coerced by police. Their verdicts were later set aside after Matias Reyes confessed to and was convicted in the attack. A reinvestigation of the case against the five teenagers/men by a former federal prosecutor found that there was no police misconduct.     “48 HOURS” Investigates in “Eleven Hundred Miles to Murder” (originally aired in February, 2017)
    When a driven Florida doctor is savagely murdered with a hammer in her home, police, as expected, immediately suspect her husband. But he has an airtight alibi. A tip, however, led police on a 1,100-mile trip that took the case in unexpected directions.
    Erin Moriarty and 48 HOURS investigate the murder of Dr. Teresa Sievers and the police search for what happened in “Eleven Hundred Miles to Murder”.
    “This beloved woman in our community had been brutally killed inside her own house,” says Jessica Lipscomb, who reported on this case for the Naples Daily News. “And then once you started to unwrap it a little bit, it was nutty. It was weird. And it was hard to keep track of it all.”
    Indeed, the investigation into what happened in the Sievers’ Bonita Springs, Fla., house that day would give police a case with more twists than the Missouri river and as much intrigue as a Hollywood mystery. Sievers and her husband Mark seemed to have a great marriage to those on the outside, but police – and reporters – would learn along the way that all was not as it seemed. Investigators would learn the couple had money issues and an open marriage, and their work would lead to potential suspects.
    Mark Sievers, who was away from home with the couple’s two daughters when his wife was murdered, immediately spoke to police without an attorney. His stepmother, Jennie Sievers Weckelman, tells Moriarty in her first TV interview that her stepson wasn’t worried about being arrested.
    “He thought, ‘Why would they? What kind of evidence could they possibly have, because I didn’t do anything,’” Weckelman recalls Mark saying.
    The murder gripped Bonita Springs. Who would want the doctor dead – and in such a vicious fashion? There was speculation on the internet that Sievers was somehow tied into a series of other suspicious deaths of other doctors around the country. Weckelman says Mark Sievers believed there could be a tie.
    Two months after the murder, however, police made a stunning announcement: Two men were arrested in Missouri and charged with murdering Dr. Sievers. One of them was nicknamed “The Hammer.”
    The case would be far from closed with the initial arrests. Instead, the arrests led to more questions about what happened and another unexpected twist.
    Was this a plot to get insurance money? Did someone hire a killer? Or was Sievers targeted by a killer out for doctors?
    “Dr. Sievers lived dramatically, and she died dramatically,” says The News-Press reporter Amy Bennett Williams.
