Wyatt: Hey. Hi. I heard you were in here. Just didn’t know you were coming back today, considering– so how did it go with hope? That good, huh?
Steffy: I thought I made myself clear back in rome. Look, I– I know you’re going through a lot right now. You’re freaking out about what you saw. Hope and thomas kissing and maybe you think that you made a mistake putting your trust in hope. I don’t know. But I feel bad for you. I really do. But you can’t come here and kiss me. I am a married woman, liam. Happily married. You need to respect that.
[ Sighs ]
[ Door opens ]
Finn: Hey.
Steffy: Hey.
Finn: Tried calling you. You okay? I’m sure thomas freaked when he realized his secret kiss with hope isn’t a secret after all.
Steffy: Thomas was totally blindsided when I told him I knew about the kiss.
Finn: He had no idea that anyone saw him at the colosseum with hope?
Steffy: No.
Finn: Hm.
Steffy: He was pretty upset when I told him. And he was concerned about hope and her marriage and he urged me not to say anything. But he was even more stunned to hear that I heard about the kiss from liam.
Wyatt: So what happened with you and hope?
Liam: I mean, she apologized. She… asked for forgiveness.
Wyatt: I mean, I still can’t believe she’d do something like this. I mean, jeopardize your marriage just to kiss thomas.
Liam: Neither can I.
Wyatt: So? Were you able to do what she asked though? Have you gotten to a place where you can maybe forgive her and save your marriage?
Hope: You know, liam warned me. My mom warned me, but I insisted that everything was fine. You know, you were his biggest fear in our marriage. And what did I do? I– I kissed you. Me. Steffy: Thomas was shocked that liam saw hope kissing him. He didn’t even know liam was in rome. Thomas said that they were just caught up in the moment after the preview. That’s all it was. But honestly, he didn’t really have any excuses. He wasn’t defending himself. He just feels terrible and he doesn’t want hope to end up hurt.
Finn: But hope had no intention of telling her husband?
Steffy: I guess not.
Finn: Hm. Yeah, she put my brother in a terrible position.
Finn: True. But thomas is a grown man. He could have stopped hope from kissing him or, you know, never been alone with her in one of the most romantic cities in the world.
Steffy: Yeah. I don’t– I don’t see this ending well. We know that my brother has made changes in his life, wonderful changes, but… liam doesn’t buy it. He doesn’t trust him and now he doesn’t trust hope. And he’s always been able to blame thomas and he always sees hope as this innocent woman. And now I think he finally realizes that hope’s the issue and I’m sure he can’t get that image of hope and thomas kissing out of his head.
Wyatt: Do you think you could possibly forgive hope?
Liam: I would have to understand what’s going on with her first. Why did she do this?
Wyatt: Yeah, I mean, she knows you’ve had issues with thomas for a while now. Like why would she do the one thing that would ruin your marriage?
Liam: I mean, she, you know, she told me she loves me. She asked for forgiveness, but she can’t explain why– she can’t explain why she did the thing that she wants my forgiveness for. And that scares me. I mean, how foolish do I have to be? Here I was traveling halfway across the world to show her my love and support. And it turns out she’s– she’s moved on, she’s fallen for somebody else in the eternal city, like, you know.
Wyatt: Yeah, if you think about it that way, it’s pretty egregious. But you’ve been in this situation before, liam. You’ve both made mistakes in the past and you’ve both been able to forgive each other for your sake and for the marriage and for the children.
Liam: Yeah. But… what do I do if it’s just a fact that I can’t trust her anymore? Because wyatt, I’m not– I don’t wanna be that guy that doesn’t have confidence in his own marriage. That’s constantly walking around wondering if his wife is cheating on him. That’s not who I want to be and it’s not who I’m willing to become.
Wyatt: Okay. You sound pretty resolved about this. So what– what are you saying exactly?
Liam: I’m saying what I said to her. I– I still want a divorce.
Thomas: Liam will get over this, okay? It was just a kiss.
Hope: You know he will never see this as just a kiss.
Thomas: Look, he has made plenty of mistakes in the past and you always forgave him.
Hope: No, I know. But this is the ultimate betrayal because it’s you. And I get it. I get it. So I um… asked for forgiveness. I fought for our marriage, and–
Thomas: How did he react?
Hope: Like I said, liam wants a divorce, so.
Thomas: I am so sorry, hope. I never wanted to cause you any more pain or heartache.

Finn: Wait, so are you saying that thomas just took the heat for this? Did you tell him that you knew it was all hope that initiated the kiss?
Steffy: Yeah. Yeah. I– I told thomas it– it wasn’t his fault that liam saw hope lean in to kiss thomas and I was trying my best not to judge him. And honestly, I– I could tell that thomas has changed.
Finn: Well certainly, I mean, if he’s willing to sacrifice himself to protect hope.
Steffy: Oh, yeah. Like, he wants to protect her at all costs. He had some kind of like visceral reaction which shows me that he’s grown. He’s not this like little boy anymore. He’s like a man.
Finn: Or this could be a sign of how deep his feelings are for hope.
Steffy: Yeah, I think it’s apparent that the feelings are mutual.
Wyatt: So nothing’s changed for you? You still want a divorce.
[ Sighs ] Man, I– I’m sorry. I just– well, how did hope take it? I mean, I’m sure she doesn’t want that.
Liam: I mean, no, she was– she was fighting for another chance, at least at first.
Wyatt: Okay. But what about you? Like is this– this really it? Like you want a divorce?
Hope: No, thomas, don’t do that. I– I don’t want you feeling guilty. And yes, in the past, you may have struggled with certain things but this, what– what happened between us, that’s on me.
Thomas: No. Look, you were– you were caught up in the city. You were in rome, one of the most beautiful places and– and the success of our line. And I wanted you to bask in the glory of that and I should have just kept my distance.
Hope: Well, the thing is thomas I, um– I wanted to be close to you. I’ve, um, been fighting this for a while now and I’m not proud of it. I um– I don’t even understand it. And yet I still gave in, knowing the risks. I kissed you. And so, yes, maybe– maybe there is something wrong with me.
Thomas: No, no. Hold on. No, no, there’s nothing wrong with you. There’s never been anything wrong with you. You’re one of the most wonderful, loving, committed people…
Hope: Okay. Well, I– I don’t feel that way now. Because I might have destroyed my marriage. I might have destroyed my family and… for what?

Steffy: Yeah, I just, I– I don’t wanna see liam hurt or my brother.
Finn: That’s because you got such a good heart. And you stand up for people and you have such principles. You know, I was thinking today just how grateful I am that I get to come home to you, every day. I missed you when you were away.
Wyatt: Have you thought this whole divorce thing through? Hm. Like, have you really thought it through? Because come on, you’re not the type of guy to rush to this kind of conclusion and throw your whole life away on a whim.
Liam: Of course, I don’t want a divorce, wyatt. I– I didn’t want any of this, but it happened.
Wyatt: Okay. Well, I thought that the love that you and hope shared could overcome anything.
Liam: Anything but this. Anything but thomas and I– and I had been clear about that for years, but she invited him in any way. She pursued him anyway. And whether she’s willing to admit it to me or not, hope has feelings for thomas.
Thomas: Okay, hope. Look, I– I think you’re taking this a little too far. Right? I mean, look, you made one mistake but that doesn’t take away from the years where you have been the most amazing and wonderful wife and mother. Liam, he– he just needs time, right? To– to deal with his initial hurt and anger.
Hope: Oh, yeah, he’s hurt all right. He’s so hurt that he–
Thomas: What?
Hope: He went to see your sister. Yeah, he wants steffy again. That same old song and dance and liam and his divided feelings. But when I’m with you, thomas, and you look at me… you make me feel like I am the only woman in the world. And so that is why… I will always remember the two of us in front of the colosseum.
Thomas: What are you saying?
Hope: Liam wants steffy. And I want the man who only wants me. I want you, thomas.
