Donnell talked to Kat about liking Joey. She told him how Joey helped when Chelsea was kidnapped through his escort service. Once Donnell heard about Heart Attach, he became unsettled and got up for more coffee. While Donnell left, Kat looked at reels of Chelsea working on their latest bag dedicated to Anita. Donnell returned to the table and realized that his mother knew about Joey’s escort service. He thought his mother was keeping secrets for Joey. Joey talked to Vanessa about his father being in the mob. He told her that he used to be an intern for his father and did everything he was told. Joey explained that his father abused him, but he adored his sister, Heather. Heather was a “daddy’s girl.” His father refused to let his sister work in the business. Joey wanted to trade places with her, but his father wouldn’t let him go to college. After they talked, Joey left the room. Donnell showed up at the casino to talk to his mother. He and Vanessa talked about Deanna going back to school. Vanessa asked him to defend Joey to Deanna. He couldn’t do that because he knew that he was a crook. Joey returned, and they talked about Deanna’s anger being out of character.
Grayson and Jacob were alone on the elevator at the hospital. He made a drop, and Jacob ordered him to leave Ashley alone. Grayson scoffed at him after he ordered him to stop seeing Ashley. Later Grayson met with Ashley, and he asked her if she would have worked things out with Derek if he weren’t in the picture. She assured him that he didn’t have to worry about Derek. He talked to her about his mother’s condition getting worse. Ashley felt bad for him. They walked back to the hospital. Grayson cringed when Ashley called him an honest person. Lia approached Grayson and asked him if Ashley was going to be a distraction for him. She warned him to keep his employer happy instead of his girlfriend. Grayson asked her if there were any complaints before. Lia informed him that he would be dead if there were complaints. Martin went to his grandparents place, but Anita was sleeping. He told Vernon that he was approached to run for Senate. Martin was worried about Joey demanding favors from him. Vernon gave him advice about focusing on the election.
