Days of Our Lives Update

Alex and Stephanie go to the honeymoon suite at the Salem Inn. They talk about being lucky to get it on Valentine’s Day. Stephanie points out they got a new bodyguard for the night so Jada can enjoy her date with Theo on Valentine’s Day. They kiss and then head inside.
Steve and Kayla have Valentine’s Day dinner at the Bistro. Steve says every time they get to celebrate it, he’s even more grateful than the year before, especially this year. Steve tells Kayla that he will never forget their very first Valentine’s wedding night as they flash back to it. Kayla says she’ll never forget it either as they toast to them. Kayla is happy that Steve could get off bodyguard duty so they could be here together. Steve is sorry that the stalker situation has taken him away from her. Kayla is glad that he’s protecting their daughter but admits she has missed him. Steve assures that Jada is staying near Alex and Stephanie all night which means he gets to come home with Kayla and stay all night. Kayla says she likes that as they kiss.
Jeremy talks with Thomas in the living room of the Horton house. Jeremy thanks Thomas for helping him carry his things to the car and brings up that tomorrow is both of their last days in Salem. Thomas says they are coming back and asks if Jeremy is. Jeremy says not for awhile at least and encourages Thomas being excited for his trip. Thomas admits he will miss Jeremy. Jeremy says he will miss him too.
Chad brings flowers to Abigail’s grave and talks about thinking of her a lot every day as he wishes her a happy Valentine’s Day.
Jeremy tells Thomas that since he’s still his teacher for one more day, he brought home his lesson plans for the next two weeks. Julie comes in with cookies for them. Thomas asks if Julie is sad that they are all leaving. Julie says of course she is, but she’ll be okay on the condition that Thomas sends pictures from their trip every day and then tell her all about his adventures when he gets home. Thomas agrees as they hug.
Chad talks about looking at a picture from last Valentine’s Day and how much their kids have grown, reminding him more of Abigail every day. Chad is thankful their kids are a piece of what they were, so their love story can still exist. Chad says he’s trying to do right by their kids and Abigail. Chad admits sometimes he feels like he’s doing a pretty good job, but other times he feels like he’s just trying. Chad says he often thinks if Abigail were there, she’d know what to do or say. Chad says most of the times it’s just being there and doing the best they can. Chad tells Abigail that they are going to Arizona to stay with Sonny and Will for awhile where they will reset and regroup as a family. Chad doesn’t know if that’s what she would’ve done but he thinks it’s what they need. Chad says Abigail’s voice is still in his hear, her love is in his heart, and he still misses her every single day. Chad says goodbye but he knows he will take a piece of Abigail and Salem where ever they go. Chad states that he loves Abigail with his whole heart and their love really was once in a lifetime. Chad places a candy heart on Abigail’s grave and wishes her a happy Valentine’s Day as he says goodbye for now.
Alex carries Stephanie in to their room where he had it decorated for Valentine’s Day. Stephanie kisses him as she calls it very romantic and thanks him. Alex says it’s the least he could do after they got married on Valentine’s Day. They wish each other a happy Valentine’s Day as they kiss.
Steve hopes after tomorrow, he will be able to come home to Kayla for good. Kayla says that would be so nice for so many reasons. Kayla asks if they are all ready for their sting operation. Steve confirms they are and says once Jeremy finds out Alex and Stephanie are getting married, they expect Jeremy to show up to the courthouse where Alex and the undercover cop will be waiting for him and catch him. Kayla says she’s no fan of Jeremy but she finds it hard to believe that Jeremy would try to kill Alex and Julie insists that he’s innocent, so it would break Julie’s heart if he’s guilty. Steve says the last thing he wants to do is hurt Julie, but the evidence against Jeremy is overwhelming so he’s not holding out hope. Steve declares that if it isn’t Jeremy, then they have no idea who it is which could be an even bigger problem.
Chad goes home and joins Thomas in the living room. Chad asks how his day was and notes his collection of candy and cards. Thomas asks Chad if he’s sad today since he said he gets sad sometimes on holidays. Chad calls him smart and sensitive, adding that his mother would be very proud. Chad admits he is a little sad today because of missing Abigail. Thomas brings up Julie being sad too. Chad says Doug was Julie’s valentine for a lot of years. Chad adds that holidays can also make you happy and think about the good times. Thomas admits he’s been thinking about Abigail a lot today and mentions the candy hearts she used to get them. Chad then surprises him with a box of them and asks how his school party was. Thomas says it was good and tells him that Rachel is back. Chad mentions hearing that. Thomas shows Chad the card that she got him that says her dad made her write it which they laugh about.
Jack and Jennifer go to the Bistro, surprising Kayla and Steve as they wish each other a happy Valentine’s Day. Kayla asks if they came for a romantic dinner. Jennifer says they actually just came for dessert and asks how their anniversary is going so far. Kayla calls it perfect and invites them to join them. Jack says they don’t want to impose but Steve insists and they were going to visit them before they leave anyway. Jennifer says they don’t want to crash but Kayla says Steve is off duty and they were going to celebrate all night anyway.
Alex reminds Stephanie about the champagne while Stephanie points out they have all night but realizes Alex had it all planned out. Stephanie goes over what his plan likely was but says being spontaneous is also good. Alex points out this being their first time as husband and wife, so Stephanie decides anticipation can be a good thing too. Alex changes his mind and says it’s already perfect. Alex adds that they don’t just have all night, but the rest of their lives as they kiss. Alex removes his shirt as they kiss onto the bed.
Chad and Thomas talk with Julie about their trip to Arizona. Julie encourages Thomas about seeing the Grand Canyon. Julie says she’s envious as it will be a great trip. Chad says they are leaving right after school tomorrow, so he sends Thomas to get packed. Julie tells Chad that it’s wonderful to see Thomas excited about being with him. Chad never thought they’d get back there again. Julie says this trip will be a milestone in the children’s lives that they will never forget. Julie cries that it’s going to be great, but admits she’s going to miss them so much.
Alex and Stephanie lay in bed together after having sex. Stephanie mentions getting thirsty and suggests opening the champagne. Alex thought maybe they could go grab a bite to eat. Stephanie says everywhere will already be booked on Valentine’s Day. Alex then reveals that he had a reservation at the Bistro, so they better get going. Stephanie remembers that’s where Steve and Kayla are having their anniversary dinner, so Alex suggests they could just order room service but Stephanie says she wants to see her parents. Alex questions if she wants to tell her parents that their only daughter got married without them. Stephanie says they will have a big wedding later and her parents are hopeless romantics, so they will understand. Alex says he hopes so. Stephanie then adds that there is one other problem they have with going out and that’s that no one else can know they are already married if they want to find her stalker.
Jennifer mentions Chad taking the kids to Arizona, so she asks Kayla and Steve to look in on Julie which they agree to. Jennifer says she knows Eli and Lani are moving back soon but it’s hard with them going back to Boston and Jeremy going to New York. Steve questions Jeremy leaving soon. Jennifer talks about Jeremy working so hard to turn his life around, only to get run out of town. Steve argues that no one’s running him out of town and points out that the police even asked him not to leave. Jennifer argues that Jeremy was dragged to the police station without cause. Steve says he’s given them plenty of reason to suspect. Jennifer complains about Jeremy being accused while Jack says they understand there’s nothing more important than keeping their daughter safe. Jennifer understands wanting to protect Stephanie and says it’s awful what she’s been through, but she wants the right person punished for it. Kayla says they agree and are working very closely with the police department to follow due process. Jennifer toasts to hoping it’s over very soon. Jack is glad they were able to get out tonight to enjoy themselves. Jack says they will leave them now to enjoy the rest of their anniversary. Kayla wishes them safe travels and says they will miss them. Jennifer talks about being sorry for what they are going through with Stephanie. Jennifer gets emotional about it being time to leave. They hug goodbye as Jack and Jennifer wish Steve and Kayla a happy anniversary. Jennifer says they love them so much as Jack says to let them know what’s going on. Jack and Jennifer exit as Kayla comments to Steve that was hard. Steve says he didn’t mean to upset Jennifer, but she brought Jeremy up. Kayla thinks she understands where they are coming from. Steve says enough of that as Kayla surprises him with a present and gives him a card which includes Mandarin lessons. Steve jokes that he can ask for directions when they go to China for Tripp and Wendy’s wedding. Steve then reveals his surprise that he already started learning and says “I love you” in Mandarin as they kiss.
Jack and Jennifer walk through the town square where they run in to Jeremy. They wish each other a happy Valentine’s Day. Jack thought Jeremy would be home packing by now. Jeremy says he just had to stop at the ATM before he hits the road. Jennifer is glad they had a chance to see him and says she’s sorry things didn’t work out for him here. Jeremy says he appreciates that. Jennifer encourages that his family believes in him, adding that he was so wonderful with Thomas and they loved having him around. Jack says maybe it will be good for him while Jennifer encourages that Jeremy’s father will be thrilled to have him back and they want the best for him in New York. Jack tells him not to be a stranger and come visit them in Boston. Jeremy says he will and hugs them goodbye as he walks away. Jack calls it an eventful Valentine’s Day and points out they still haven’t even been alone. Jennifer jokes that when they get home, she’s locking the bedroom door. Jack states that Valentine’s Day has been special for them. Jennifer reminds him that it was the day she proposed to him which they flash back to. Jack jokes about planning a better proposal as they walk off together.
Stephanie tells Alex that she hates taking off their rings on their wedding night. Alex says they’ve worked so hard to set the perfect trap, so Jeremy finding out they are already married could blow the whole thing, but if tomorrow goes as they planned then they will be free. Alex says for now they will tell their families and no one else, but they know and that’s all that matters as they continue kissing. Alex says he will store the rings away in the safe and when they come back, they will put them back on and celebrate all over again as they kiss.
Chad tells Julie that he’s not leaving until tomorrow but he needs to thank her for being so good to him and his kids, opening up her home and heart to them. Chad says there’s been a lot of personalities under one roof and it’s been chaotic at times, especially while Julie was grieving, but the place is filled with love and one of the only reasons he was able to get through losing Abigail. Julie responds that he and the children helped her get through losing Doug, so they are even. Julie adds that Chad encouraged her to have grief therapy and she watched him get up every morning and get on with his life, which inspired her. Chad feels he was just repaying her for taking them in and treating them like family. Julie declares that he is always family as they hug. Jack and Jennifer come in and tell them about their trip to the Bistro. Jennifer asks if everyone is all packed up. Chad says just about. Jack tells Chad to have a great trip and enjoy every moment with the kids. Jennifer knows Chad said he wanted this trip to feel like they are a family again, so she’s been praying for them. Chad says that means a lot. Jack knows it’s been a terrible year and he hates that they contributed to that. Chad assures he never stopped thinking they were family as they are bonded forever by their love for the kids and Abigail. Jennifer is glad they worked it all out. Julie acknowledges they had a big bump in the road and then they listened to each other, so going forward they are stronger for it which they all agree with. Julie can’t wait until they are all together again.
Jeremy walks through the town square and sees Alex and Stephanie heading in to the Bistro. Jeremy then flashes back to Alex confronting him at the Pub.
Stephanie and Alex join Steve and Kayla at the Bistro. Steve asks where Jada is. Stephanie explains that she had a date tonight so she made other security arrangements. Steve feels she should’ve let him know. Stephanie thinks she wanted them to talk to them first as Jada had been with them all day and they had something to tell them about. Stephanie reveals that they went to Chicago earlier. Steve argues that he told them that wasn’t safe. Stephanie explains that they were with Jada and it was part of a surprise for Alex which Kayla questions. Stephanie continues that they got the marriage license to make things look legit, so it got her thinking about putting it to use for the real thing. Steve asks what they are saying. Alex then announces that they eloped which shocks Steve and Kayla. Stephanie assures that they will still have a big wedding when they can and that they took lots of pictures. Alex adds that they won’t post the pictures until they catch Jeremy tomorrow. Stephanie worries that they are upset and promises they didn’t mean to exclude them, adding that Steve can still walk her down the aisle someday. After a moment of silence, Steve and Kayla bust out laughing and say they were just kidding which relieves Alex and Stephanie. Steve whispers that if they didn’t have to keep it quiet, he’d give Stephanie a big hug but suggests ordering a bottle of champagne to celebrate quietly.
Jeremy sits in the town square and reads over a letter he wrote to Stephanie, saying he knows she’s engaged to Alex and thinks he’s some obsessive stalker who has been terrorizing both of them, but if she got to know him, she’d feel differently. Jeremy knows she doesn’t believe him but intends to prove it to her.
Steve toasts to many more Valentine’s Day wedding anniversaries for all of them. Alex toasts to ending the stalker nightmare. Stephanie toasts to finally starting their lives together while Kayla toasts to her favorite day of the year suddenly becoming more special.
Julie tells Thomas that she will work on her Mario Kart skills for when he comes back. Julie hugs Thomas and Charlotte, hoping they have a wonderful trip. Jack says they might be gone by the time they get up as they are getting an early start. Jennifer mentions wanting video chats as they hug. Chad decides it’s past their bedtime. Thomas asks Julie to finish reading them Alice in Wonderland since they won’t see her for awhile. Julie agrees to a chapter which Chad allows, so Thomas and Charlotte head upstairs with Julie. Chad confirms to Jack and Jennifer that the car is good to go. Chad informs them that he stopped to visit Abigail’s grave for Valentine’s Day. Jennifer feels like they should be leaving together but they are going in opposite directions. Chad promises they will see each other again soon. Jennifer tells him to take care of himself as they hug. Jack and Jennifer then head upstairs as Chad says he’ll be right up. Chad picks up a photo of he and Abigail on their wedding night and hugs it as he gets emotional. Chad then shuts off the lights and takes one final look back at the living room before he exits.
