Marlena responds that she’s not sure and thinks she passed out until her knocking on the door woke her up. Susan thinks they should go to the doctor but Marlena says that’s not necessary. Susan argues that it sounds very necessary to her because people don’t just pass out for no reason. Marlena doesn’t think the doctors can do anything to help her. Belle says that makes two of them who have regrets because she deeply regrets giving her heart and trust to him in the first place.

Cat acknowledges that was a big turning point in her life and that everything is different for her now. Cat apologizes for everything she did to Chad and his family. Chad states that he knows how sorry she is and that she had no intention of hurting him or his family, so he’s tired of her beating herself up for something he’s already forgiven for. Chad suggests leaving it in the past which Cat agrees to. Chad points out that all of that brought them here and he’s happier than he’s been in a very long time, so he’d like to focus on that as they kiss.
Leo helps Gwen out through the hole in the wall. Gwen hugs him and exclaims that she’s free. Gwen then backs off and says it took him long enough. Gwen questions what he was doing here anyway. Leo says he was on the prowl for blackout stories and a source thought it might have originated here, so he was looking to see if there was any truth to that. Marlena says she’s just so glad that her vibes brought her here tonight and wonders what she was doing in the neighborhood. Susan responds that she was just hanging out in the graveyard.
Belle tells EJ that she was so relieved that he cared about her but it was just another con job in court without giving a thought of how she would care. Belle starts coughing, so EJ asks if she’s having a panic attack. Belle blames EJ’s cologne triggering her asthma. EJ never knew she had asthma. Belle responds that there’s a lot he doesn’t know about her. EJ points out that his cologne never bothered her before. Belle says it builds over time and gets worse in small spaces. EJ asks what she can do to help. Belle tells him to just relax and he doesn’t need to worry about her as she’s fine.
Leo questions how Gwen ended up here in the middle of a blackout. Gwen tells him that this is where EJ is building the new free clinic at the hospital and he reached out to her for a donation and offered her a tour of the place. Leo asks where EJ is now. Gwen says he said he had something to take care of and left. Gwen remarks that she would’ve went with him if she knew she’d get stuck here. EJ asks Belle if she’s feeling better. Belle confirms that she does which EJ says he’s glad to hear. Belle reminds him that they still need to talk about John’s will. EJ tells her not to worry and that he will sign whatever paperwork she wants to give him which Belle questions. EJ acknowledges that he caused a lot of problems in John’s life, so the least he can do is respect his wishes in death. EJ says he’ll accept whatever terms that Belle and Marlena think are fair. Belle asks why she should believe him. EJ says it may seem that he didn’t care, but he recognizes all the wonderful things John did for this town. EJ adds that most importantly, he raised an extraordinary daughter in Belle.
Marlena questions Susan being in the graveyard. Susan says not to worry as she wasn’t planning on disturbing anyone’s eternal rest. Susan calls it part of her training to become a medium as she wanted to connect with the spirits. Marlena asks how that is going. Susan says it’s too soon to tell, but she’s starting to suspect the messages about Stefano being alive were not 100% accurate. Susan adds that she still feels Stefano’s presence lingering. Marlena says it’s funny she would say that because she’s been having dreams about Stefano. Marlena thought she was done with that part of her life, but now she seems to be reliving it. Susan questions if she’s being possessed again.
Thomas tells Rachel that Chad doesn’t have a girlfriend. Rachel reveals that she saw Chad kissing Cat at mini golf. Thomas argues that they are just friends. Rachel says nobody kisses their friends like that. Thomas tells her that Chad says there’s nothing going on between them. Rachel guesses that Chad lied then.
Cat asks Chad if he’s sure he’s okay with this and ready for this as they continue kissing.
Marlena assures Susan that she’s not worried about being possessed but wonders why she’s having these feelings. Susan promises that Stefano won’t be visiting her dreams tonight because she will stay with her until the lights come on. Marlena thanks her, but Susan says friends don’t have to thank friends for being there for each other.
Leo asks Gwen if they should get going. Gwen tells him to go ahead and that she’s fine now that she’s not trapped inside anymore. Leo points out that there’s two of them with one flashlight. Gwen remarks on what he does when there’s only one piece of property. Leo wants to help her but Gwen says this doesn’t make up for anything. Leo wishes she could see how sorry he is and complains that he misses their friendship every day. Leo says he has to live with the fact that his thoughtless actions cost him one of the few friendships that ever meant anything to him. Leo tells her not to let her anger be the reason she stays in the dark instead of getting somewhere safe since he’s caused her enough pain. Gwen then reluctantly agrees and exits with Leo.
Belle tells EJ that she’s always wiped out after her asthma flares up so she will try to get some sleep. EJ offers her his jacket again which she then accepts and goes to sleep.
Thomas tells Rachel that his dad doesn’t lie to him. Rachel remarks that he didn’t used to but Cat must be rubbing off on him. Thomas asks what she means. Rachel reveals to Thomas that Cat lied about who she was when she first came to Salem as she was living at the DiMera Mansion and pretending to be Thomas’s dead mother.
