Luna confronts Poppy about Tom’s backpack in their apartment and the letters inside claiming that he is Luna’s father. Luna asks Poppy directly if she killed Tom so that Bill would never know that Tom might have been Luna’s father. Poppy denies killing anyone and assures Luna that Bill is her father. She says she has no idea how the backpack got into their apartment or why it was hidden behind the couch. However, she tells Luna that they must never speak of any of it to anyone else. It has to be their secret.
