Kyle: Here you go, babe.
Summer: Mm, you really are the best husband.
Kyle: Oh, bringing you coffee’s a pretty low bar, but I’ll take it.
Summer: You know what I mean. Thank you for getting on board with me taking harrison to the textile show in paris. I cannot wait to show him the little boats that kids play with at the tuileries gardens. Oh, and I already know he’s gonna love the crepes.
Kyle: Well, you’re making me jealous I’m gonna miss all of it. You have to send me a ton of pictures.
Summer: Of course we will. We’re not gonna be gone for that long, though I hope it’s long enough for this whole thing with diane and stark to get resolved. I just want him out of our lives for good without any more drama or danger.
Kyle: I know. I know. I wish I’d never even heard that guy’s name.
Jeremy: Thank you.
Diane: Good morning. You’re up and at it early.
Jeremy: Being incarcerated has given me a new appreciation for life. I don’t like to waste time.
Diane: Is that the tie I gave you all those years ago?
Jeremy: Mm. I’m flattered you remembered.
Diane: Ooh, I like your style, which is why I am carefully planning how to surprise you with my act of good faith.
Jeremy: Sounds like you’re enjoying your assignment.
Diane: Maybe a little. It’s been lovely being back in genoa city playing mother and grandmother, but I am a woman with wants and needs.
Jeremy: Hmm. Yes, you are. Please sit down and catch me up on this plan of yours. I am dying to know all the details.

Devon: Hey.
Abby: Hi. Sorry. I probably should have texted you before just stopping by, but I just dropped off dominic and louise at a play date, and i thought maybe we could go grab a coffee.
Devon: Mm.
Abby: Or I could just leave. I can tell that you’re not in the mood. What’s wrong? Can I help?
Phyllis: Hey. Um, I’m glad I ran into you.
Tucker: Yeah? Why’s that?
Phyllis: Did you mean what you said…when you said you wanted to burn it all down?
Tucker: Deadly serious. But you blew me off when I asked the question, so deal’s off the table.
Phyllis: No. I just… I’m sorry. I cut you off too soon. I want to continue this conversation.
Tucker: Having second thoughts?
Ashley: And we’re getting ready to ship the gift boxes to the stores in time for valentine’s day.
Jack: Everything going smoothly?
Ashley: Pretty much. We have a new head of distribution. I’m just gonna keep my eye on him.
Jack: Is that really necessary?
Ashley: I don’t know. But I’m not in the mood for any surprises, so I’ll just keep a tight rein.
Jack: Well, I respect your judgment.
Ashley: Good.
Jack: You were home late last night.
Ashley: I wasn’t aware I had a curfew.
Jack: I was only saying, i was in the living room reading a book when you blew by, and you seemed pretty upset. If this is about our latest dust-up over diane, I thought maybe we —
Ashley: No. Stop right there. Not diane. Tucker.
Jack: What’s he done now?
Ashley: Um, I found out that chancellor-winters’ ipo adviser audra charles was actually feeding tucker information, presumably to take over the company.
Jack: And how did you learn about that?
Ashley: Well, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time, jack. I saw devon basically cut tucker out of his life. And I found some evidence. It looks like tucker came to genoa city to go after jabot. So, all the claims he made about wanting devon and me back in his life were just lies… like we thought. To you, it may just be an elevator.

Phyllis: I realize I should have been more generous with my time. I mean, not necessarily to join you in some scheme you have to burn it all down. You need a reality check. You come in here. You’re throwing your money around. Your private jets. People are onto you. People here are smart.
Tucker: [ Chuckles ]
Phyllis: You’re never gonna be one of us.
Tucker: Really?
[ Clears throat ] But you’ve been here for decades, haven’t you? And from what I’ve observed, you’re still an outsider.
Phyllis: I have family here.
Tucker: Yeah. So do I. Devon, dominic. Big reason why I came back.
Phyllis: You’re not here fighting for your family. Uh, there’s also something else you should know about me. When it comes to my family, I fix what’s broken.
Tucker: From what I hear, everyone’s angry at you for taking your vendetta with diane too far.
Phyllis: Oh, who cares? I ran into a difficult patch. I’ll fix it. I always do. You’re running into your first headwind, and you’re unraveling. So, if you really care about your family, go fix it with them. Or get in your private jet and leave. Or stay…and burn all down. That’s your option.
Jack: What kind of evidence did you find?
Ashley: Um, jabot’s financial information.
Jack: Oh, geez.
Ashley: You know, the same reports that diane was supposed to get for him.
Jack: Diane said that never took place. She never passed on any intel. He confirmed it.
Ashley: I don’t care, okay? They’re both pathological liars. Let’s just leave it there.
Jack: You okay?
Ashley: I’m fine.
Jack: I can’t help but wonder if a part of you wishes you were wrong about tucker’s motives. I know the two of you have spent a lot of time together. Is it possible that in trying to win his trust, maybe he succeeded in winning back some of yours?
Ashley: I was always in control, jack. I knew what I was doing, and I still do. You are the one that’s being fooled by a manipulative ex.
Jack: And there it is — the hostility toward diane that colors your whole life.
Ashley: And you are colorblind.
Jack: [ Sighs ]
[ Sighs heavily ]
[ Door closes ]
Jack: So, have you decided exactly what you’re going to procure as your act of loyalty?
Diane: You’ll know soon enough. You can’t rush these things.
Jeremy: That sounds like a stall tactic. I’m thinking that perhaps you need a deadline to prove that you’re up to the task and able to work under pressure.
Diane: [ Scoffs ]
Jack: I can’t risk getting back in business with you if you’re not able to act swiftly and decisively.
Diane: Sounds like you’re giving me an order.
Jeremy: How astute. I am.
Diane: Jeremy, if this partnership is going to work, it needs to be a little different than last time. I can’t be left in the dark like I was for so long. This needs to be a game of equals.
Jeremy: [ Chuckles ] That is a bold request.
Diane: [ Chuckles ] Well, I’m a lot bolder than i was when we first met. And you’re in my town now, so I’m the one calling the shots. Besides, if I want to take my time to get this proof, prolong the fun, then I don’t see why you’re opposed to that. Isn’t that where the thrill lies — in the anticipation of the score?
Jeremy: You are really coming into your own. But I’m not budging. You have until tomorrow. The abcs of ckd
Kyle: I don’t like the idea that you’re fleeing with harrison to get away from my mother and whatever threat stark poses. I wish he’d never come back into her life, but the fact is, he is here and he needs to be dealt with.
Summer: Come here.
Kyle: [ Sighs ]
Summer: I love you so much, and I know that you would much rather be in paris with us. But I promise you, we are gonna video-chat you every day.
Kyle: Thank you for trying to reassure me, but part of what’s so upsetting is that you think I’m putting my mother first. I love her, and I need to help her through this latest threat, but you and harrison are my world. You know that, right?
Summer: I do. And we’re gonna get through this, just like we’ve gotten through everything else.
[ Knock on door ]
Kyle: Mm. Hold that thought.
Phyllis: I’d like to speak with summer.
Tucker: Hey.
Jack: What the hell are you doing here?
Tucker: I’m looking for ashley.
Jack: Ashley wants nothing to do with you.
Tucker: She tell you that?
Jack: In so many words. She also told me you came to town targeting jabot, conspiring with chancellor-winters’ ipo consultant to make a move on them, as well. On top of that, you’re blackmailing diane, deceiving and manipulating ashley. You’ve been a busy fellow. I’m amazed you have the nerve to show your face around here.
Abby: Thank you.
Devon: You’re very welcome.
Abby: Okay, what has you so riled up?
Devon: Um…tucker. Tucker does. I — I had someone to look into whether or not there was a connection between him and this woman that we hired to help us with the ipo named audra.
Abby: Mm-hmm.
Devon: And of course there was, dating back years. And after I confronted her and fired her, I went to tucker’s hotel suite, which you should know your mom was at.
Abby: Well, this is about you right now. Um, what happened?
Devon: I just — I went off on him and I told him what i know. But the frustrating thing is that the truth has been in front of my face this entire time if i would have just looked hard enough because we were all suspicious when tucker showed up to town. I asked him straight out if he has any interest in chancellor-winter, and he swore to me he didn’T. He said he was here to reconnect with me and to meet dominic. And I bought that. And I let him get close to our son, which I want to apologize to you for because you’ve never not been wrong about him.
Abby: No, I bought in, too, at least to the idea of dominic knowing his grandfather.
Devon: The grandfather that dominic deserves is not here anymore — ’cause neil was somebody that you could trust and you could admire. Tucker is just a sack of lies, pretending to care about his family so he can get what he wants in business. It’s — it’s sick. I look around, and I feel like my family is disappearing.
Abby: No. No.
[ Mug thuds ] Don’t say that.
Devon: Well…
Abby: You have a son, a little boy who’s on a play date right now who thinks you hung the moon. You have family that is never gonna disappear.
Nate: This candidate is bold, outside-the-box thinker who has an aggressive approach to growth and innovation.
Victoria: Well, that sounds like the perfect fit for us.
Nate: Yeah, I think so. She’s definitely the kind of visionary I’d like to have by my side here at newman media.
Victoria: Who is this woman? She sounds too good to be true.
Nate: Well, she’s new to genoa city, but she’s worked internationally and consulted for large corporations and conglomerates similar to newman.
Victoria: Huh. And her name is? You want to hire audra charles?
Victoria: I thought that audra was working with chancellor-winters on their ipo. What happened with that?
Nate: Uh, from my understanding, the ipo is on course, but audra’s work is done and she’s ready for a new challenge. She was actually ready to leave town, but I convinced her to stick around and come talk to me about the opportunity here.
Victoria: Well, I have to admit I do find the idea intriguing.
Nate: I thought it was at least worth exploring.
Victoria: Yeah. Well, I would like to meet with her, as well, if that’s alright with you. We crossed paths before, but i didn’t really get a good sense of her.
Nate: Okay. Well, let’s change that. If your next block of time is free, she’ll be here shortly.
Abby: I understand how upsetting it must be to have found out about tucker and this audra woman.
Devon: Oh, yeah. And I’ll tell you, she — she didn’t leave without getting in one last dig, too. She pointed out how, as a ceo, i was mistaken about her and nate
and tucker. And I didn’t like hearing that. That didn’t make me feel good at all. It kept me up all night thinking about how I could have misjudged so many things and how I missed so many signs and just how I let everything get as bad as it’s gotten.
Abby: Stop. Don’t blame yourself, okay? Audra is the one who’s wrong. You did question her. And you’ve been suspicious of tucker since he came to town. And nate — I mean, you knew he was spinning out and that he was unreliable. You told me all of these things.
Devon: I know.
Abby: You were right.
Devon: I know I did, but think about how long it took me to figure all this stuff out. Ultimately, I still went against my instincts, and I still let myself get swayed by other people and their agendas. That’s the real mistake. And that’s gonna stop right now.
Abby: What are you gonna do?
Devon: I will show you. Jill, this is devon. I’d like for you to give me a call back as soon as possible because I need to meet with you today. Thanks.
Phyllis: Hey, kyle, can i have a minute alone with summer?
Kyle: Normally I would say yes, but I think I should stick around, just in case.
Phyllis: In case of what?
Summer: It’s okay. Maybe you could get started packing for harrison?
Kyle: You sure?
Summer: Yeah.
[ Sighs ] What’s so important, mom?
Phyllis: Where’s harrison going that he needs luggage?
Summer: I’m taking him with me to a textile show in paris. I thought we could make a little vacation out of it.
Phyllis: Ah. You’re trying to get away from diane, aren’t you?
Summer: [ Sighs ] I wouldn’t mind putting some distance between us and the danger she’s facing, so…
Phyllis: Is kyle going with you?
Summer: He feels like he needs to stay here.
Phyllis: Hmm. Is there something going on between you and kyle?
Summer: No. Kyle and I are fine. What — what — what was it that you needed to talk to me about so urgently, mom?
Phyllis: Hey, you know what? I have a great idea. Let me go to paris with you.
Summer: You and I have been barely speaking, and now you want to crash our mother/son trip?
Phyllis: Crash? Listen, uh…I want to fix whatever’s going on between us. That’s all I want to do.
Summer: [ Scoffs ] You said that I broke your heart by not telling you the truth about diane. What’s changed?
Tucker: Okay, I’m just gonna tell you exactly what I told ashley. My interest in going after jabot — and chancellor-winters, for that matter — is old news. It was the plan that brought me to town, yes. So, you gonna judge a fellow business mogul for his ambitions?
Jack: I judge you for plotting a hostile takeover, yeah.
Tucker: Yeah, well, that all went away as soon as I started spending time with ashley. And even then, my only interest in jabot was helping her get the control that she deserves at this place.
Jack: Oh, you don’t have to concern yourself with ashley’s position in this company. She has total autonomy.
Tucker: Over the piece of the pie that you sliced for her. You undervalue her, jack. Which is why I realized what she actually needs, what she deserves is freedom, her own place to shine. So I offered her a path towards independence — her own company. Mm-hmm. She tell you that? That’s me before dawn powerwash.
“The young and the restless”
will continue. We’re here today to set the record
Jack: Hard to imagine ashley working alongside you after what she’s just learned. If you think that’s still a possibility, you’re deluded.
Tucker: Regardless of what ultimately happens, I know for certain she needs to get away from this place and you. It’S…
[ Scoffs ] In fact, she should have never come back from paris. She deserves so much more than being relegated to your shadow and being sidelined at a lab.
Jack: You don’t even have a right to an opinion about what is best for ashley. After all the pain you’ve put her through? I want you gone. If ashley wants to talk to you, well, she’ll let you know. In the meantime, you’re not welcome here.
Phyllis: I hate that you’re caught between kyle and diane.
Summer: Really?
Phyllis: Yeah. Really. It must be very difficult for you.
Summer: Uh…I’m not buying this.
Phyllis: You’re not buying what?
Summer: Oh, you talked to daniel, didn’t you? Oh, my god. I told him specifically not to say anything to you about our conversation.
Phyllis: Wait, what are you talking about? I don’t know what you mean.
Summer: Yes, you do. Mom, I know how stubborn you are. You wouldn’t have marched over here to confront me if nothing had changed.
Phyllis: Summer, I had a realization.
Summer: Because of what daniel told you, right? Oh, you don’t want to admit it? Fine. You know what? I’ll — I’ll call him. Let’s see what he has to say.
Phyllis: Oh, don’t call daniel. Don’t call daniel.
Nate: Audra.
Audra: Hello.
Nate: Come in. Ah. Allow me.
Audra: Thank you. Oh! Uh, I didn’t realize I was gonna be meeting with the ceo of all of newman, as well. I might have prepared a little differently.
Victoria: No, no, not at all. This is nate’s meeting. I just thought I’d sit in.
Audra: Well, I appreciate you taking the time.
Victoria: I’m actually surprised that you left chancellor-winters. I would think that you would have wanted to see the ipo through to the end.
Audra: Unfortunately, I can’t discuss any private business regarding my consulting clients. But I will say that I always see things through and would never leave an assignment prematurely.
Victoria: Well, that is very good to know. And of course, nate has spoken very highly of you, and we’re just pleased that we’re able to speak with you.
Audra: The pleasure is mine. Um, I am excited to pick your brains regarding newman media’s place in the market.
Nate: I know you haven’t had a lot of time to research the company since I just found out about your availability. So, no pressure on that front.
Audra: I did some reading. I mean, most of the night, if I’m being honest. When I dive into something, I go headfirst, all-in. So, shall we get started? I have some questions and thoughts.
Jill: I can’t believe we’re having this call again.
Devon: Oh, neither can I, jill. I assume you’ve heard about audra?
Jill: Yes. Lily told me last night.
Devon: Before we get into why and how that happened —
Jill: I’m not blaming you. This is on me. I brought that woman on board, and, believe me, I am furious at myself because the last thing we need is to be utterly humiliated in the public eye because we were conned by her. And, of course, we have to put the ipo on hold one more time so we can thoroughly check out her prep to make sure that we were not sabotaged by her. Should we have lily in on this call?
Devon: No, we don’t need to get lily on the call because i actually didn’t call to talk about the ipo.
Jill: Really? What could be more important?
Devon: I wanted to discuss our partnership in general.
Jill: Alright.
Devon: I’ve come to realize, jill, that merging chancellor and hamilton-winters has been a mistake. And I think that the idea of this epic legacy for myself and for lily and for nate has, you know, in all honesty, been a disaster.
Jill: What are you saying?
Devon: I’m saying that I want to buy back hamilton-winters. I’m jonathan lawson
Diane: Do you have a minute?
Jack: Sure. What’s up?
Diane: [ Sighs ] I saw jeremy at society this morning, and I think I’ve convinced him that I’m sincere about getting physical proof of my loyalty without giving any details.
Jack: Good.
Devon: Yes, but now the clock is ticking on the next phase of our agenda — to draw him into an illegal activity and get him arrested.
Jack: I know we all want to move this along as quickly as possible, but we have to proceed cautiously, make sure that it’s all well thought out.
Diane: It is thought out. We’re stealing something from nikki.
Jack: We don’t want to be sloppy or rush into something that could backfire.
Diane: Alright, alright, that’s good in theory, but we don’t have time. Jeremy gave me a deadline — tomorrow.
Abby: Okay, great. We’ll see you then. Bye.
Ashley: Hi!
Abby: Mom, hi! Are you here for breakfast?
Ashley: No. Actually, I want to talk to you.
Abby: Okay. Um, I think I know what this is about.
[ Chuckles ] Devon told me what happened.
Ashley: Oh.
Abby: Yeah, he said when he walked in, he saw you and tucker together?
Ashley: Yeah. I feel stupid. I think I thought because I knew he was trying to manipulate me that I — I couldn’t be manipulated.
Abby: But he still got to you?
Ashley: A little bit. He did. He got to me. Yeah. He’s good. He, uh, offered to finance my own cosmetics company that i would run.
Abby: Wait, were you actually thinking of leaving jabot?
Ashley: I don’t know. I mean, it’s a nice thought, getting away from this whole diana and jack situation. And tucker made it very appealing, but, eh…
Abby: Well, trust me — no one knows what it’s like to want to venture out on your own more than me.
Ashley: Right. I think my brain kept telling me that I shouldn’t trust tucker, but my heart just couldn’t help giving him the benefit of the doubt, you know, just a little bit.
[ Voice breaking ] A little bit.
Jill: I understand you’re not a fan of the ipo, but this is a very extreme reaction.
Devon: I disagree, jill. I think it’s actually a very logical solution to the issues we’ve been having. And I also think that there’s some truth to some of the stuff that nate said to me.
Jill: About what?
Devon: Just about how protective I am over what neil and I created and about how i don’t want anybody on the outside to influence his legacy. I certainly don’t want to lose more control. So I want hamilton-winters back. And you know that I have the money to get it.
Jill: Oh, I don’t doubt that, but I’m telling you, this is a huge mistake. What does lily have to say about it?
Devon: I haven’t said anything to lily yet because i wanted to give you the respect to tell you first. But I will say that if you or lily prevent me from getting the company back, I will not have a problem with being public about my lack of support for this ipo.
Audra: My main focus would be on growth, but with a clearly defined mission.
Nate: We’re on board with that.
Audra: Great. So, I guess my last question would be, do you think you have a strong grasp on what newman media’s long-term strategy is? Or is that something I can help define?
Nate: Another good question.
[ Chuckles ]
Audra: I hope I didn’t bombard you with too many.
Nate: Uh, no, no, not at all. From the discussions victoria and I had, I think you have similar thoughts to ours. You already seem to have a pretty good understanding of what newman media’s strong points are, as well as where we can grow and improve. As far as specifics go, I think we would come up with those together.
Victoria: I agree. I really like what you’ve brought to the table so far. And I enjoy being challenged by a fresh perspective. And I think that some of your thoughts on international media are incredible.
Audra: Those are just my preliminary thoughts. I would have a lot more ideas if I had the chance to really dig in.
Nate: Well, you have given us a lot to think about. Thank you for coming in, audra.
Audra: Yeah. Look, I know we’re all busy, so I’ll be clear. I like the company, and I like your leadership style. I’m pretty instinctive, and i know what I want, so I’ll just say it. I’d be ready to give this a shot if you’ll have me.
Jack: Stark wants you to steal something by tomorrow? That’s impossible.
Diane: Well, we have to make it possible. And to impress jeremy, whatever I take from nikki has to be of great value and hard to get. Now, I’ve been thinking about the ranch, and I’m sure that security is tight. So, what do you think? Maybe I should ask michael for help since he works for —
Jack: No, no, definitely not. That’s too risky.
Diane: [ Sighs ] You’re probably right. But it’s not like I’m an experienced thief.
Jack: I know.
Diane: [ Sighs ] I mean, should we involve nikki and — and get her help? Not that she would ever want to help me because she hates me.
Jack: I don’t think you have any chance of getting onto the ranch, so you don’t have to worry about that. And nikki can’t be involved.
Diane: So, where does that leave us?
Jack: I think I have another idea.
Without the right start
to your day…
Phyllis: Um, alright, listen.
[ Sighs ] Daniel may have told me a couple things that you relayed to him.
Summer: Hmm.
Phyllis: He’s upset. It’s killing him, this rift between us.
Summer: [ Scoffs ] “Rift”? Mom, that’s putting it really nicely. You’ve been blaming me for not taking your side in an untenable situation.
Phyllis: I know. I know I have. I mean, daniel got me to see that I was putting you in a horrible position, making you choose between your husband and your mother. I should never do that.
[ Chuckles ] Ever, ever. I mean, I let my animosity for diane get the best of me. I am so sorry. Summer, I am so sorry. I just didn’t realize I was doing that to you. Hey, baby, you mean the world to me. I never want to put you in a bad position. So, hey, come on. Let’s go to paris. Let’s go to paris now with harrison. How much fun, right? Or — I don’t know — you could stay. You could stay, and we could fix this.
Summer: Mom, don’t give me that look.
Phyllis: What look? What look? The look that a mother gives a daughter when, you know, she wants her to do something?
Summer: [ Scoffs ] Look, I… I’ll discuss it with kyle, but there are reasons that I want harrison out of town. So, if the situation doesn’t change, then we will be going.
Abby: Our stupid hearts, making life more complicated.
Ashley: Yeah, I’ll say. Like he said, I was with tucker in his suite, you know? Yeah. And while I was there, um, i happened to find some of jabot’s financial data stashed in his desk.
Abby: That bastard. What did he have to say for himself?
Ashley: Just more lies and more excuses, as usual.
Abby: [ Sighs ]
Ashley: So, honey, needless to say, I could use a little distance, you know, from diane and tucker and even jack. He and I have been fighting so much, it’s ridiculous. I have to try to salvage that relationship somehow.
Abby: What are you saying?
Ashley: I know you’re going through a tough time, but I want you to know that I’m always here for you, 24/7. I just think it’s best if i leave genoa city, just for a while.
Abby: [ Sighs ]
Jill: How dare you threaten me like this? You know if you publicly say that you don’t support the ipo, it’s gonna make chancellor look incredibly weak.
Devon: And I don’t want it to come to that, jill, but I also don’t want to keep going to work feeling the way I do, okay? That’s how important it is to get my company back.
Jill: This is all so out of the blue.
Devon: Is it really, though? ‘Cause I don’t think that anything has gone to plan for our companies since, I mean, starting at the launch party. And I don’t see things getting better. And if you and lily — if you guys want to take chancellor public, that should be your call. I shouldn’t be the one to hold you back from doing that. So, I would love if we can just end things peacefully and quickly and if you could understand where I’m coming from.
Jill: Look, I am aware that you have been having some personal conflicts lately. And I know it’s not my place to discuss them or to offer opinions, but please, please take some time and let’s revisit this.
Devon: I don’t think that time is gonna fix anything, jill. I assumed that you and lily would reconsider this ipo, especially after what just happened with audra. But you guys haven’T. So I don’t really have another choice.
Jill: I’m very sorry this is your decision. I have to discuss it with lily. But I still hope there’s a chance you’ll change your mind.
Devon: Not this time. I know what I’m doing is right, and my decision is final.
Victoria: I admire your moxie, and I’ve enjoyed our talk, but it appears that you think that you’re the one interviewing us rather than the other way around.
Audra: What can I say? I am who I am. There’s no use in hiding it because you’d find out soon enough. So, we might as well decide now if you think I’m a fit.
Victoria: Fair enough.
Audra: I’m not interested in working somewhere that doesn’t want to hear my ideas or give me the necessary support to implement them. That said, I’m very much a team player. And I think the best ideas come from open dialogue between leadership and staff.
Victoria: You took a risk. And it worked. I like your style. I have another meeting that i need to get to, so I will leave the decision up to you.
Nate: [ Clears throat ]
[ Footsteps departing ]
[ Door opens ]
[ Door closes ] That could have gone the other way.
Audra: Yeah. Go big or go home. Are we doing this or what?
Nate: We’re doing this.
Jack: Victor and nikki have a pied–terre in chicago. I used to go there with nikki. I know the alarm entry code, if they haven’t changed that. I also know the secret compartment where nikki keeps her prized jewelry.
Diane: [ Sighs ]
Jack: Look, I don’t know what’s there right now, but she usually keeps a few things there for when they’re in town.
Diane: Okay. Wow. That sounds like a plan. And worst-case scenario, if the building security stops me, I’ll just talk my way out of it.
Jack: No, I’m not sure about that. The security team there has been there for a very long time. They know everybody that goes in and out. That’s why maybe I should go there.
Diane: No. No. That’s not an option. I’m not going to allow you to implicate yourself like that.
Jack: Well, given stark’s deadline, we don’t really have a choice. I have a better chance of getting into the apartment than you. I know the building. The staff there knows me from years ago. I’ll get in. I’ll get out. I’ll bring a piece of nikki’s dazzling jewelry back, hand it to you, you give it to stark as if you stole it, and he’ll have what he wants — proof that you will go to great lengths to be back in with him. The deadline is looming.
