20/20 Airing Friday, May 20, 2022 (9:01 PM-11:00 PM EST) on ABC – ‘20/20’ Features First TV Interview Since Conviction With Man Behind Bars for Murder: Some Ask Is He the Real Killer?
‘20/20’ Reports on How Convicted Murderer’s Family Remains Divided on His Guilt
When a friend discovered Dennis and Norma Woodruff murdered in their home located in the Texas Bible Belt, authorities quickly suspected the couple’s son, Brandon Woodruff, who was the last person to see them alive. Authorities said Brandon lived a double life and they recovered a weapon with one of the victim’s DNA that they say belonged to Brandon and could have been used during the crime. A jury soon convicted him and he received life behind bars, but his family’s opinions remain divided on whether or not he committed the murders. Today, as the Innocence Project of Texas helps Brandon try to clear his name, “20/20” reports on the key question posed by his supporters: Did he actually kill his parents? The new “20/20” features Brandon’s first TV interview since his 2009 conviction with ABC News anchor John Quiñones, in which he claims his innocence and discusses how he feels anti-gay bias influenced the investigation. The program also explores the evidence against Brandon and includes interviews with Bonnie Woodruff, Brandon’s grandmother; Allison Clayton, deputy director of the Innocence Project of Texas; members of the jury; and witnesses in the trial. Watch a Preview
BELLINGCAT – As reports of war crimes in Ukraine continue at the hands of the Russian military, 60 MINUTES goes inside Bellingcat, a team of online data detectives, and its investigations to look at how they build their cases. Scott Pelley speaks with founder Eliot Higgins about how his organization is building a database of social media exposing the alleged war crimes. Pelley reports that Bellingcat has trained more than 4,000 journalists and war crimes investigators in its techniques of geolocation, verification and data mining. Henry Schuster is the producer.
SHARSWOOD – 60 MINUTES’ Lesley Stahl visits Fred Miller and his family in the large house in southern Virginia that they recently bought to host family gatherings, only to discover that their own ancestors had once been enslaved on that very property. Miller’s sister and cousins scoured historical records and enlisted a genealogist to find evidence that their great-great-grandparents, Violet and David Miller, were enslaved on the plantation, then-called Sharswood. The dilapidated building still standing behind the main house has been identified by archeologists as living quarters for some of the enslaved men and women there. Buying this home has opened a window into the Miller family’s past that was not discussed within their family, and that many African American families struggle to obtain. This is a double-length segment. Shari Finkelstein is the producer.

Airing Saturday, May 21 (10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network – TWIN SISTERS SAY THEY WERE ATTACKED BY A BLACK MAN – HE SPENT 44 YEARS IN PRISON – ARE THE SISTERS TELLING THE TRUTH OR HIDING A FAMILY SECRET?
“48 Hours” Investigates in “Please Don’t Tell” Preview
Vincent Simmons was released from a Louisiana prison earlier this year after serving 44 years for attempted aggravated rape of twin sisters. He says he didn’t do it – but the twin sisters say he’s guilty. Are the sisters telling the truth or hiding something? 48 HOURS and contributor David Begnaud investigate the case against Simmons and hear for the first time from a woman who says she knows the truth, in “Please Don’t Tell,” to be broadcast Saturday, May 21 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+.
In 1977, Simmons was convicted of two counts of attempted aggravated rape of identical 14-year-old twins, Karen and Sharon Sanders, and sentenced to 100 years in prison. The Sanders sisters say their cousin, Keith Laborde, was driving them when he gave Simmons a ride. They say Simmons forced Laborde into the trunk then raped them. The Sanders sisters say Simmons warned them not to tell anyone about what had happened. They say they initially intended to keep it a secret, but Karen Sanders decided to confide in a family member.
“And I said, ‘But please, please don’t tell anyone. Please don’t tell anyone,’” Karen Sanders says.
It didn’t stay secret for long. The police soon found out and Simmons was arrested, convicted and sentenced to prison. This year, Simmons was released after a judge vacated his conviction after finding he didn’t get a fair trial. The court did not rule on his innocence or guilt, and the district attorney declined to retry him
It’s a case that raises questions about potential flaws in the legal system and alleged racism, and whether it was just for this man to spend most of his life behind bars.
“When I saw him in that lineup, I didn’t have to think twice,” says Karen Sanders. “When I looked at him, I knew him.”
The sisters don’t doubt that they picked the right man out of the lineup.
“I didn’t rape Karen and Sharon Sanders,” Simmons says. “I don’t know these people.”
Simmons’ attorney, Justin Bonus, believes the twins are lying to protect Keith Laborde. Laborde’s cousin, Dana Brouillette, told a private investigator and swore in an affidavit in 2020 that Laborde admitted to her that Simmons was never with them that night. Instead, she said in the affidavit that Laborde told her “he had consensual sex with one of the girls and locked the other in the trunk.” Laborde denied ever having sex with them.
What exactly happened? Was Simmons railroaded by a racist system, as his lawyer maintains? Or is he guilty, as the sisters say?
Begnaud and 48 HOURS report on the case through interviews with Simmons, the Sanders sisters, Laborde, attorneys and prosecutors. The judge in the case also gave a revealing interview to Begnaud.
48 HOURS: “Please Don’t Tell” is produced by Stephanie Slifer, Sarah Prior and Murray Weiss. Stephen A. McCain is the development producer. CBS News producers are T. Sean Herbert, Chris Weicher and Maryhelen Campa. Doreen Schechter is the producer-editor. Richard Barber and Marlon Disla are the editors. Patti Aronofsky is the senior producer. From cagesideseats.com: WWE Raw preview (May 16, 2022): Alexa Bliss’ return is a big deal
Raw airs tonight (May 16) with a live show from the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. This is the second Raw episode during the four week build towards Hell in a Cell, coming up on June 5.
Alexa Bliss’ return to WWE is a big deal
Alexa Bliss returned to Raw last week with a quick squash win over former WWE Official Sonya Deville.
This is the second time Bliss has returned to WWE in 2022. The first return was a complete disaster. It focused on awful therapy segments where Alexa was largely playing the same supernatural evil doll-obsessed character from 2021. She wrestled one match and then immediately disappeared from television, and that includes missing out on WrestleMania 38.
In just one night back on TV, WWE undid a lot of the damage from her earlier return this year. Those cringe supernatural elements of her previous gimmick appear to be reduced or completely gone. Her entrance music was much closer to her original music before she was ever corrupted by Bray Wyatt. She still has that stupid doll Lilly with her, but that’s fine as a prop to sell a bunch of merch with as long as it doesn’t become anything more than that in kayfabe.
The Raw women’s division has been significantly bolstered in recent weeks with the additions of Asuka and now Bliss, along with Rhea Ripley turning heel. And WWE should rely on the strength of that division to carry more of the show given the likelihood that Raw won’t be featuring the top men’s champion in the company all that much for the foreseeable future.  More

5/21/22 (Sa.) 9:00 PM – THE FAMILY OF MICHELLE TROCONIS, WHO HAS BEEN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH THE PRESUMED MURDER OF A MISSING CONNECTICUT MOTHER, SPEAKS OUT FOR THE FIRST TIME ON “48 HOURS: WHAT DOES THE OTHER WOMAN KNOW? THE DISAPPEARANCE OF JENNIFER DULOS”
Claudia Troconis Tells Erin Moriarty: “This Has Shattered Our Life Because My Sister Is Not the Person That They’re Saying – and She Would Never Be Capable of Anything They’ve Said That She Has Done.”
The Broadcast Also Features Excerpts from Newly Released Interrogation Videos, Some Exclusive to “48 Hours,” Showing Detectives Questioning Michelle Troconis
Michelle Troconis has been dubbed “the other woman” in a headline-making story about a Connecticut mother of five, Jennifer Dulos, who vanished and is believed to have been killed by her estranged husband, Fotis Dulos. He was charged with murder, but died by suicide weeks after his arrest leaving Troconis the focus of the investigation, as she faces multiple charges in Jennifer Dulos’ presumed murder. Now, in their first interview, Troconis’ family members defend her in 48 HOURS: “What Does The Other Woman Know? The Disappearance of Jennifer Dulos” to be re-broadcast from Saturday, Feb. 13 (10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
“This has shattered our life because my sister is not the person that they’re saying,” says Michelle Troconis’ sister Claudia Troconis. “And she never would be capable of anything they’ve said that she has done.”
Michelle Troconis, Fotis Dulos’ girlfriend, was charged with conspiracy to commit murder, evidence tampering and hindering prosecution – all charges she denies. And in some exclusive excerpts from interrogation videos, she insists she has no information about Jennifer Dulos’ disappearance.
“I have no idea what happened to Jennifer. I have no idea where Jennifer is,” Troconis tells police.
When Detective John Kimball tells her they believe she has information she’s not sharing, Troconis responds: “I don’t have, John, but I can walk the whole world with you if you want…I can do whatever you want but I didn’t do it.”
Jennifer Dulos disappeared on May 24, 2019 after dropping her five children off at school. Police found her abandoned SUV near a park three and a half miles away from her Connecticut home. At the time, she was in the middle of an ugly divorce and custody battle with her husband, Fotis Dulos. Investigators believe Dulos attacked Jennifer that morning, killing her, and then disposed of her body. Jennifer’s body has never been found. Fotis Dulos died in January 2020 after attempting to take his own life.
Michelle Troconis is currently out on bond. Her family is adamant she is innocent. They say Troconis is not the person portrayed in stories about the case.
“Did your sister have anything to do with the death of Jennifer Dulos?” Moriarty asks Claudia Troconis.
“No, she did not,” Claudia Troconis responds.
“Do you believe that Michelle knows where Jennifer’s body is?” Moriarty asks Danielle Troconis.
“My sister is innocent,” Daniela Troconis responds. “Absolutely not.”
Moriarty and 48 HOURS investigate the disappearance of Jennifer Dulos and the case against Fotis Dulos and Michelle Troconis through interviews with their families, friends, investigators, and Dulos and Troconis’ attorneys. The broadcast also includes a 2019 visit to Fotis Dulos’ home, with Dulos and his family, around Christmas, just 10 days before he was arrested for murder, and an interview with Dulos’ attorney, Norm Pattis, on the day his client died.
48 HOURS: “What Does The Other Woman Know? The Disappearance of Jennifer Dulos” is produced by Liza Finley and Elena DiFiore. Richard Fetzer is the field producer. Michael McHugh, Grayce Arlotta-Berner and Diana Modica are the editors. Peter Schweitzer is the senior producer. Nancy Kramer is the executive story editor. Judy Tygard is the executive producer.
