  • CBS 48 HOURS – Saturday, April 30 Show More
4/30/22 (Saturday) (10:00 PM) on CBS – A CONTROVERSIAL DISBARRED ATTORNEY WITH STRANGE TIES TO A STRING OF DEAD MEN SPEAKS OUT TO A JOURNALIST WHO HAS BEEN PLAYING A CAT AND MOUSE GAME WITH HER, IN “48 HOURS: CHASING CATHERINE SHELTON” Preview
For nearly three decades, controversial Texas attorney Catherine Shelton, now disbarred, has been dogged by mysterious circumstances surrounding the deaths of various men in her life. She has never been charged with murder. Now, in an exclusive, two-part edition of 48 HOURS, Shelton sits down with contributor Jenna Jackson to talk about her checkered past in “Chasing Catherine Shelton,” to be broadcast Saturday, April 30 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+.
It’s a story right out of a mystery novel, but this is real. Shelton is a former defense attorney who has been trailed by allegations and headlines for decades. She’s been called a murderer, a stalker, a crazy lawyer and more. Back in 2003, Jackson produced an edition of 48 HOURS mainly focused on one of the murder cases linked to Shelton, and Jackson has been tracking the mysterious woman ever since.
“For years, I’ve been tangled up in a bizarre game of cat and mouse with a woman named Catherine Shelton,” says Jackson.
“I’ve done a few things, yes,” Shelton tells Jackson. “Yes, I do admit that I’ve – well, I’ve never stabbed anyone. All right? And I’ve never shot anyone with a shotgun.”
Shelton’s life – and her proximity to dead or injured men – has perplexed investigators for decades. Starting in the 1970s, one of Shelton’s former boyfriends was bludgeoned to death, and another ex-boyfriend’s apartment was allegedly set on fire. A former client who authorities said accidentally hanged himself was found dead and naked in Shelton’s home. She says she had nothing to do with any of these incidents. She shot another boyfriend in the back. She admits to that but says it was self-defense. And there’s more.
In this investigation featured over two editions of 48 HOURS, Jackson and her team reinvestigate many of the allegations against Shelton through conversations with people who knew her, dated her and investigated her, to ultimately answer the questions of whether all of these accusations are just a coincidence or if Shelton is guilty of anything.
What’s fact and what’s fiction in the Catherine Shelton story? And why is she willing to talk again? Jackson and 48 HOURS set out to find out.
“Well, there’s a little more than I’ve been telling, of course,” Shelton tells Jackson.
Part two of Shelton’s story will be broadcast Saturday, May 7 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and streamed on Paramount+.
48 HOURS: “Chasing Catherine Shelton” is produced by Chuck Stevenson and Gabriella Demirdjian. Emma Steele is the associate producer. Mead Stone is the producer-editor. Greg Kaplan, Wini Dini and Grayce Arlotta-Berner are the editors. Lourdes Aguiar is the senior producer. Nancy Kramer is the executive story editor. Judy Tygard and Jenna Jackson are the executive producers.

From wrestlinginc.com: Spoilers On WWE Returns Planned For Tonight’s RAW
Two WWE Superstars are scheduled to return to the storylines during tonight’s WWE RAW episode.
Asuka and Mustafa Ali are scheduled for tonight’s RAW broadcast, according to Fightful Select. The two were reportedly factored into plans over the weekend, and are still in the script as of this afternoon.
Current plans call for Ali to be involved in a segment with The Miz, which is interesting as Ali is still a SmackDown Superstar. There is no word on if this will be a MizTV segment.
Asuka is scheduled to be involved with Becky Lynch, who is returning to RAW tonight in her first appearance since dropping the RAW Women’s Title to Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 38.
Asuka has been rumored to return at different points in recent months, but word now is that they are finally bringing her back after various creative pitches. It was reported that she was ready to return from shoulder surgery as far back as March. Asuka has not appeared on WWE TV since Money In the Bank 2021 back in July.
Ali’s WWE future has been up in the air for months, and he actually requested his departure back in January. He has not wrestled since losing to Drew McIntyre on the October 29 edition of SmackDown. Ali recently expressed interest in working with Cody Rhodes.
As noted before, WWE Hall of Famer Kane is also scheduled to be on tonight’s RAW from Knoxville, Tennessee, where he is also known as Mayor Glenn Jacobs. Kane was scheduled to be involved in a segment with Kevin Owens and Ezekiel at last word.
Stay tuned for more on tonight’s RAW and be sure to join us for live coverage at 8pm ET. Below is the current announced line-up:

from wrestlinginc.com: WWE NXT Star Pulled From Tonight’s Show, New Match Set
WWE NXT Superstar Xyon Quinn has been pulled from tonight’s NXT 2.0 episode as he is not medically cleared to compete.
Quinn was scheduled to face Tony D’Angelo on tonight’s NXT show, in a match that was just announced over the weekend. There is no word on exactly why he’s not cleared to compete, but WWE made the announcement this afternoon.
Quinn responded to the announcement and said he will be back soon.
“Minor setback, rest assured I’ll be back soon. [black chess pawn],” he wrote.
Von Wagner will now replace Quinn in the match against Tony D.
It was announced on last week’s NXT show that Wagner was under a storyline suspension, and had received a fine, due to the recent attack on Ikemen Jiro. That suspension was actually done to explain Wagner’s absence for the trip to NXT UK to work last week’s TV tapings, where he faced Saxton Huxley on Wednesday (spoiler results), and wrestled Sam Gradwell on Thursday (spoiler results).
Robert Stone, Wagner’s new manager, took to Twitter and commented on Wagner vs. D’Angelo, noting that he got Von’s suspension reduced.
“If Xyon isn’t man enough to step up and face Tony D, my guy will cause he’s not SOFT. I got Von’s suspension cut down. Now all I have to do is pay his fine which won’t be a problem,” Stone wrote.
It remains to be seen if Quinn is injured, or if there’s another reason he was pulled from the ring. He wrestled on last Tuesday’s show, defeating Wes Lee, and then defeated Draco Anthony the week before that. Quinn defeated Damon Kemp on the March 18 NXT Level Up show, and then defeated Dante Chen on the April 1 Level Up episode.
Stay tuned for more on tonight’s NXT 2.0 and be sure to join us for live coverage at 8pm ET. Below is the updated line-up, along with the related tweets:

48 HOURS airing Saturday, April 30 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. AFTER A COLORADO MOTHER OF TWO VANISHES ON MOTHER’S DAY, BIZARRE CLUES EMERGE – A CHIPMUNK ALIBI, A TRANQUILIZER GUN, A SPY PEN AND AN AFFAIR Preview
“48 Hours” Investigates: “The Suzanne Morphew Case: Nothing Is What It Seems”
When a Colorado mother of two vanished on Mother’s Day 2020, police initially thought maybe she was taken while riding her mountain bike. They also considered her husband. Then, bizarre clues emerged – a chipmunk alibi, a tranquilizer gun, a spy pen and an affair.
Peter Van Sant and 48 HOURS investigate the disappearance of Suzanne Morphew, the case against her husband Barry Morphew, and incredible twists the story takes in “The Suzanne Morphew Case: Nothing Is What It Seems,” to be broadcast Saturday, April 30 (9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+. (Re-broadcast from Jan 22, 2022)
“When something like this happens … when somebody goes missing … you want answers,” said Aya Gruber, a law professor at the University of Colorado and a former defense attorney. “But this case is incredibly unique … when you started to dig a little bit deeper. Nothing is what it seems.”
The case gave investigators a mound of evidence to sift through. Suzanne Morphew disappeared days after telling her husband she was “done” with their marriage. Investigators noticed Barry Morphew’s cell phone appeared to be pinging all around his house on Mother’s Day weekend 2020, which he maintains was because he was chasing and shooting at chipmunks to shoot. Investigators also found a plastic cap for a syringe that they believe was used to load a tranquilizer dart in the couple’s dryer. Barry Morphew, investigators say, told them he didn’t know how the cap got there, but admitted he was an experienced tranquilizer dart gun shooter. The cap, however, had Suzanne Morphew’s DNA on it, not Barry’s. Investigators also found a spy pen right out of a James Bond movie that was able to capture and record conversations. One of the conversations the pen captured was between Suzanne Morphew and a secret lover. Investigators also uncovered DNA on the glovebox of Suzanne Morphew’s Range Rover, which traced back to an uknown male connected to three sexual assaults.
But prosecutors arrested Barry Morphew for first-degree murder even though Suzanne Morphew’s body was never found. In their arrest affidavit, prosecutors spelled out what they believe happened to her: “It had become clear that Barry could not control Suzanne’s insistence on leaving him, and he resorted to something he has done his entire life – hunt and control Suzanne like he had hunted and controlled animals.”
    Morphew pled not guilty.
What really happened to Suzanne Morphew? Barry Morphew talked to investigators dozens of times, but they believe he knows more than he’s saying.
“When somebody goes missing who’s beloved and had children,” said Gruber, “you want the bad guy to be held accountable, but in some cases they are just mysteries.”
