Ridge: Taylor. Is that really you? Hi!

Taylor: Yes, it is really me, ridge. Your ex-wife has returned. Dr. Taylor hayes in the flesh.

Thomas: Thanks for coming back. I wanted to make sure we were on the same page about couture.

Steffy: Mm-hmm.

Thomas: Uh, you’re not upset that I made you come all the way back here ’cause you were at home, are you? ‘Cause, look, I understand we could’ve done this over the phone, but the reality is it’s better to see these things in person, and you- you’re– you’re not paying attention to a thing I’m saying, are you?

Steffy: No. What?

Thomas: You were at home. You were with finn. And y’all are in the honeymoon phase.

Steffy: No! No. Finn wasn’t there. Someone else was. You’ll never guess who.

Brooke: Thanks for stopping by.

Katie: Oh, of course. I was stuck for two hours on the freeway coming from downtown, and we still did not settle the advertising deal.

Brooke: Oh, no! You’ve been negotiating that for a while.

Katie: Yeah.

Brooke: I’m sure it’ll work out.

Katie: Yeah, I think so, I’m just– I’m stressed about it. What’s going on with you? I can tell that there’s something on your mind. Something a bit more serious.

Brooke: Before we dive into me, I’d like to hear about you. Obviously you’re staying busy at work. So, how are things in your personal life?

Katie: Um, what personal life?

Brooke: Have you seen bill lately?

Katie: Let’s just say he’s doing everything he can to win me back. But I’m not sure what the future holds.

Brooke: I just hope things work out for you. Just the way you want them to.

Katie: Me too. But enough about me and my drama, what’s going on with you? Is everything okay?

Brooke: I’m not sure if I need to be worried about ridge and me.

Thomas: Wait, someone’s at your house? Shouldn’t you be there right now?

Steffy: Well, you’re forcing me to feel fabrics.

Thomas: “Force” is a very strong word, you’re very dramatic.

Steffy: Can you just guess who’s at my house right now?

Thomas: Do I have to?

Steffy: Yes, yes, you do.

Thomas: Okay, um, the singer lady from next door.

Steffy: No. No.

Thomas: Okay, am I warm?

Steffy: Kinda. The person of interest is a woman and…

Thomas: Okay.

Steffy: She loves you very much.

Thomas: This is why I don’t do this. Um, okay, is it– is it my niece?

Steffy: Close. No.

Thomas: Okay.

Steffy: She’s a little older than kelly. She’s very accomplished, she’s extremely beautiful–

Thomas: Oh!

Steffy: She–

Thomas: I think I–

Steffy: — Changed your diapers.

Thomas: She changed my diapers?

Steffy: Well, you’re– yes!

Thomas: That– okay. Silvia, the old– the– the girl who watched us when we were kids.

Steffy: No, thomas.

Thomas: No?

Steffy: No.

Thomas: Okay, I’m trying here.

Steffy: Mom! Mom is at my house.

Thomas: Wha–

Ridge: Look at you. Beautiful as ever.

Taylor: And you are as big of a flatterer as ever. I see you cut your hair.

Ridge: Yeah, it was getting a little shaggy. I thought, you know…

Taylor: You know, I’ve always thought it looked better short.

Ridge: Mm-hmm. I remember.

Taylor: Mm-hmm.

Ridge: So, steffy obviously knows you’re here.

Taylor: She just went to run an errand. She was very surprised to see me.

Ridge: So, I’m not the only one.

Taylor: No. No, I didn’t tell the kids I was coming. I wanted it to be a surprise.

Ridge: Oh, it’s a surprise. You’ve been missed. Superpowers from a spider bite?

Thomas: Mom is so sneaky. I just talked to her the other day, and she didn’t mention a thing about coming home.

Steffy: We should plan something. Like a dinner. Us, the kids.

Thomas: Yeah.

Steffy: Maybe dad will come too.

Thomas: That’d be great. All of us in the same room, finally. I mean, video calls aren’t the same.

Steffy: I know. And I miss those mom hugs.

Thomas: Yeah, me too. It’s been so long since I’ve had one.

Steffy: It’s been even longer for me. You at least had one-on-one time with her. I haven’t seen her in over a year.

Thomas: That’s true, she did help me a lot when I was going through all that stuff with hope.

Steffy: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, you were in a bad place. But we’re really lucky to have a mom who’s so compassionate and loving. And she’s, like, a world renowned psychiatrist. I mean, I really think she can handle anything.

Thomas: Even me?

Steffy: Mom’s the best advisor, and caregiver. Except for when she needs to prioritize herself.

Thomas: Yeah, yeah. She definitely puts other people’s needs first.

Steffy: Oh, yeah, she does.

Thomas: She should look after herself. I mean, she deserves to be happy.

Steffy: Mom did tell me that she had some issues of her own. Work wasn’t the only thing that kept her away.

Thomas: You, uh, talking about dad?

Steffy: Somewhat, yeah. But I’m really talking about brooke.

Katie: Your marriage to ridge seems so solid.

Brooke: It is. Until deacon came back in town.

Katie: Yes, yes. I heard he’s back. Is he up to no good?

Brooke: He hasn’t done anything except trying to show hope and me that he’s a different man.

Katie: Is he?

Brooke: I don’t know. It’s hard to tell with deacon.

Katie: What does your gut tell you?

Brooke: That he’s tired of living his old life. He’s tired of hustling to get by. Causing trouble. I think he learned a lot in prison, and I’m sure it scared him, too. All those lonely days and lonely nights, just imagining his life with his daughter. Now, all he’s doing is trying to prove that he’s changed.

Katie: Has he changed? I mean, ridge doesn’t seem to think that’s possible, right?

Brooke: No, but hope believes him. She really wants a relationship with her father.

Katie: How do you feel about that?

Brooke: It’s not really up to me. Yeah, I was upset when deacon came back in town, but hope is a grown woman. She has children of her own. It’s up to her whether she wants her father in her life or not.

Katie: So, you’re trying to support hope and at the same time you don’t want to disappoint ridge.

Brooke: Seems like it’s impossible.

Katie: I’m sorry. I can see how heavily this is weighing on you.

Brooke: Ridge and I just have very different viewpoints on deacon. I just don’t want this to come between me and my husband.

Ridge: When those kiddies wake up, they’re gonna be so happy to see you.

Taylor: I can’t get over how sweet they are. I could just stare at them for hours.

Ridge: Well, now you can. You got all the time in the world.

Taylor: You know, steffy and thomas have been great about keeping me up to date on video chat. I’m so lucky to have such a wonderful relationship with my three grandchildren. Douglas, kelly, now hayes.

Ridge: They talk about you all the time. Sit down. Can I get you something?

Taylor: No, no, I’m fine, I’m fine. You know, it’s funny, when I was traveling, I used to pray for good wifi so I could… read them stories and sing them songs. Kelly was so animated in front of the camera. But nothing… nothing compares to being here with them.

Ridge: I’m still thinking about you singing to these poor kids. It all goes so fast. I try to spend as much time with them as I can.

Taylor: Yeah. Douglas is hilarious, right? I– he’s gotten to that age where you can have a real conversation with him.

Ridge: Yes, as long as it’s about space exploration.

Taylor: Yes. It’s been his favorite subject the past couple of months. I’m still not sure what elliptical orbit is…

Ridge: Really? How do you not know that?

Taylor: You do?

Ridge: No. He might be the smartest forrester.

Taylor: I think you’re right.

Ridge: I missed that.

Taylor: What?

Ridge: That smile. For the power of a deep clean in

Steffy: It’s just so wild. We were talking about mom.

Thomas: Yeah.

Steffy: Reminiscing about the old days.

Thomas: How great would things have been if our family had just stayed together? Not sure if this feeling we’re having is ever going to go away.

Steffy: As long as dad’s with brooke, probably not. We care about dad and we want him to be happy and fulfilled, not this constant stress being thrown at him.

Thomas: Yeah. And he’s been great. I mean, helping us out tremendously, especially after mom left.

Steffy: Yeah, he just automatically picked up the slack when mom moved to paris, then she got that fellowship, and she started traveling all over the world. And he wanted to make sure that we were okay and mom had nothing to worry about. So he did everything he could to make sure he was supportive.

Thomas: Yeah, I mean, they’ve been broken up for a while, but, yeah, they managed to maintain this– this friendship through all this time. And not just for us, but for our kids.

Steffy: If he hadn’t chosen brooke over mom… I mean, could you imagine?

Brooke: I realize that ridge doesn’t want deacon around, but it’s what hope wants.

Katie: And you’re caught right in the middle.

Brooke: She even threatened to take liam and the kids and move out.

Katie: Really? But she adores living here. I mean, I can’t imagine her wanting to live anywhere else. Especially with the kids being so young.

Brooke: I know, it’s really very special. She’s created this beautiful home here on this property for liam and the kids. And I don’t want that taken away from them.

Katie: Or from you.

Brooke: Ridge believes deacon is a liability. He ordered hope to cut ties with him or leave the property.

Katie: You’ve got to be kidding, he gave her an ultimatum?

Brooke: Yes, he did, but I wouldn’t allow it. I know. I mean, what am I supposed to do, katie? I would move mountains for hope. But I don’t want to alienate ridge.

Taylor: You and I made beautiful children together. And now they have beautiful children of their own.

Ridge: They’re adorable, right? And hayes looks like he’s grown a foot since yesterday.

Taylor: He looks a lot like you, ridge.

Ridge: He does, right?

Taylor: Yes.

Ridge: I’ve been telling everyone how he’s super handsome and– glad we’re on the same page.

Taylor: As long as he doesn’t inherit that glint in his eye.

Ridge: What glint is that?

Taylor: Oh, well, that mischievous one right there. Anyway, I’m just– I’m still so amazed that steffy and finn named their son after me. Hayes. Such an honor.

Ridge: Well-deserved.

Taylor: Yeah. I’m so proud of steffy, the way that she and finn have embraced parenthood. I just– I just wish I would’ve– I would’ve flown in for hayes’s birth. Been there to hold my daughter’s hand.

Ridge: Don’t do that to yourself. They understand that you couldn’t just walk away from the seminar.

Taylor: I– I should’ve insisted on making the trip.

Ridge: And do what? Upset thousands of people? Come on! You’re making the world a better place.

Taylor: God, you know, it was a profound experience, ridge. Seeing all that suffering… it made me really appreciate and– my health, my life… my children.

Ridge: And I’m sure you met some extraordinary people along the way.

Taylor: I did. Dedicated, compassionate people. But I’m happy to be home. I’ve missed my kids so much. I’ve missed you, too, ridge.
