Hope: I know there’s still a lot to discuss with you designing again, thomas, but honestly right now, all I can hear is douglas saying that he wants to come live with us again.
Thomas: Yeah. You– you must be so excited.
Hope: I am. Honestly, I was beginning to think it might never happen. Oh, beth is gonna be so happy getting her older brother back.
Thomas: Well, I think he’s with our moms right now. I could grab him and bring him over to the cabin if you want.
Hope: Thomas, are you– are you okay with this? I mean, I– I know. I mean, obviously, it was your suggestion that douglas pick where he lives, and I know you were hoping that he’d want to live with you.
Thomas: Yeah. It’s um– it’s still painful, him choosing to live at the cabin instead of with me. But, you know, um, it’s– it’s actually, it’s– it’s okay. ‘Cause– I– look, we’re in a– we’re in a better place now and we can figure out a better situation that works for all of us. And I– honestly, I’m– I am excited. I am. I’m ready to– to see what the future has in store for us.
Liam: So, thankfully thomas will not be returning to hope for the future now.
Wyatt: Well, it’s kinda nuts they were even considering it in tstm: Wel yeah. And I’m just– I’m– I’m so grateful I was able to get through to hope. You know, make her realize what a risk it is. She just– she can’t be spending day after day after day with that guy. In fact, he shouldn’t be allowed near her ever again.
Wyatt: Look, hope knows who thomas is.
Liam: Yes. She– she does. But she’s also really vulnerable right now ’cause she’s so concerned about her line.
Wyatt: And having thomas around’s not gonna worry her more?
Liam: That’s the thing. Steffy had her convinced that he’s the only designer in the whole universe that can save it.
Wyatt: What? What? That’s– that’s insane. They have plenty of designers. He’s not the only one.
Liam: You know that and I know that, but according to thomas, he and hope have a special connection.
Wyatt: Oh, god.
Liam: And it’s– you know what? It’s not even that he’s wrong in general about that. I mean, the two of them share a kid. That’s fine. It’s just the whole, like, I’m a changed man thing. That’s– that’s where I get off the train.
Wyatt: Yeah. And how many times have we heard that?
Liam: Exactly. He’s still the same guy, right? He’s still unreliable. He’s still egocentric. He’s–
Wyatt: Creepy.
Liam: Totally creepy. And thankfully hope sees that now.
Wyatt: Well, it’s gotta be a huge relief for you to know that you got through to her, right?
[ Liam sighing ]
Hope: I believe you want hope for the future to succeed, thomas.
Thomas: And I will do everything I can to make that happen.
Hope: Oh, well, I mean, that depends. I don’t want you to take things too far.
Thomas: No, no, no, no, no. No way. Now that guy is long gone, right? Thankfully. Now, I wanna be the kind of person that you and the rest of the family can be proud of. Someone that our son can look up to.
Steffy: Hey.
Thomas: Hey.
Steffy: What’s going on? Is everything okay?
Hope: Yeah, it is.
Thomas: Yeah, it’s great.
Steffy: Great. Okay. That sounds positive.
Hope: I think so.
Steffy: Wait a minute. Does– does this mean?
Hope: Yes, I– I have agreed to let thomas back on hope for the future.
Steffy: Oh, my god. Oh, that’s great. Hi, I’m michael,
[ Phone chimes ]
Wyatt: Hope?
Liam: No.
Wyatt: Wasn’t she gonna call you after she talked to steffy?
Liam: Yeah, but you know, she’s been under so much stress lately that I think I’d forgive her if it slipped her mind.
Wyatt: I know. A lot of that going around, huh?
Liam: Yeah. I– I wish– I wish there was something more I could do to help. I’m trying to be like encouraging and– and supportive, but hope for the future is sputtering.
Wyatt: Combine that with losing douglas. It’s gotta feel like a one-two punch to her, you know? I still can’t believe he chose to live with steffy.
Liam: Yeah. I mean that was especially painful for hope because she– she prides herself on being not just a good mom, but a successful businesswoman. And it’s annoying because all of the– all of this is thomas’s fault, right? He’s the one who got himself kicked out of forrester, which is why hope for the future is suffering. He’s the one who pushed the whole custody issue.
Wyatt: Yeah. And I mean, hope’s gotta see that though, right? I mean she’s– she’s– she’s paying attention.
Liam: Yes. Well, I mean, I thought so, but– but then she started talking about the possibility of bringing him back to the line. And so I– I don’t know. Listen, it’s her business, obviously. She knows how to run it and she can do whatever she wants. But I– my thing is I don’t want her to be manipulated, right? And that’s why I took a stand.
Wyatt: You were being a protective husband and rightfully so.
Liam: Yes, of course, counterpoint is hope can totally take care of herself. And at the end of the day, I don’t want to be the, you know, laying down the law. “Ooh. You have to do what I say.” Like that guy.
Wyatt: What are you talking about? I know you. That’s not the kinda guy you are. Plus, it doesn’t even sound like you guys argued about it.
Liam: We argued a little, but we each understood what the other one was saying too.
Wyatt: She’s lucky to have you and whether it seems like it or not, she knows you’re looking out for her because working with thomas is a non-starter. He cannot have a place in your lives.
Steffy: Seriously. You want thomas as your lead designer?
Hope: Well, pending your approval.
Steffy: Approved. As long as it’s something you really want.
Hope: I mean, look, it’s no secret that I wasn’t exactly okay with it at first. I needed some convincing and I needed to be able to trust the people that I work with. And I needed to believe that thomas had really changed.
Thomas: I have. I promise.And-and I will. I– I give you my word. All right. You– you too, steff.
Hope: Yeah. He was pretty convincing. Even my mom sounded cautiously optimistic.
Thomas: She’s never gonna forgive me for the phone call, how I affected her marriage, but she said that she would support whatever hope chose to do.
Steffy: You’re good, thomas. Maybe I should move you over to sales.
Thomas: Hm. Yeah. I can’t take all the credit. Mom definitely gave brooke a lot of encouragement.
Hope: Hmm. Mm-hmm.
Steffy: Their friendship has been such a game changer.
Thomas: Definitely a game changer for me. I mean, it changed my entire world, my life, you know. I mean, I– I was ready to accept whatever brooke said. You know, even if that meant that I could make it up to everybody, what I wanted to do all along, you know. That’s all I wanted was to make it up to– to you, the whole family. And– and definitely my son.
Hope: Douglas was here too.
Thomas: Mm.
Steffy: Did you tell him the news?
Hope: Mm-hmm.
Thomas: I think he was more excited than we were.
Steffy: Absolutely. He always says how amazing it is when you two are getting along.
Hope: And we told him it could be like that again.
Thomas: Yeah. Hope and i vowed to be a team at work and his parents.
Steffy: He must be so happy.
Hope: He is. And actually he– he said that he misses me, he misses our family and he’s actually ready to come back home.
Steffy: Are you serious? Hope, that’s great.
Hope: I know. I know you know it’s been really tough for me with him away.
Steffy: Oh, yeah. I mean, I can only imagine. But I told you this is only temporary. Like, this is wonderful. Okay, so we’ll– we’ll reach out to the judge and we’ll figure everything out.
Hope: Yeah. We actually– we have a call in already.
Steffy: Wow. Okay. Okay. So many changes around here. Speaking of changes, how does liam feel now that you’re working with thomas? I’m sure it took a bit of convincing.
Hope: Well, he actually doesn’t know yet. When asthma symptoms strike, airways narrow.
Wyatt: Well, look, I should get going. Hope’s probably gonna be home soon, huh?
Liam: Yep. Maybe. Who knows? She might stay at the office and see if she can figure out how to salvage her line without thomas.
Wyatt: Look, if she can’t, she’ll find something else to do. Something better.
Liam: When did you become such a ray of sunshine?
Wyatt: I don’t know. I don’t know. I honestly think I blacked out there for a second. Look, not everything has to be dark and ominous in our lives. We get enough of that talking to dad.
Liam: Have you talked to him recently?
Wyatt: Nope. And I don’t know why I would, because everything that he says just does not make sense anyway. What about you? You gonna tell him about this whole situation?
Liam: What? Tell dad that thomas is becoming a concern again? Absolutely not.
Wyatt: You know, the way things are going, maybe dad and thomas will become best friends.
Liam: Oh, god.
Wyatt: Why did I say that?
Liam: Oh. No, thank you.
[Indistinct], I keep– I don’t know. I keep thinking he’s gonna just snap out of it and become his old self again, but no dice.
Wyatt: I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I kinda miss him calling me a knucklehead ten times a day. It’s just this whole sheila thing, it– it– it’s weird. I just, I– I have no clue what to do.
Liam: I don’t either. And in fact, the more I think about it, the less of a clue I have.
Wyatt: Well, you got enough on your plate. I’ll handle dad. Hey, at least I get to cross thomas off the list, right?
Thomas: So liam doesn’t know you’re bringing me back as lead designer?
Steffy: You didn’t talk to him about it?
Hope: No, I did and he was upset to hear that my line might be canceled, but I explained the situation to him and the two options and that I was considering it.
Thomas: And one of those options being that I’m coming back as lead designer.
Hope: He wasn’t thrilled. He insisted that I say no.
Steffy: But you got liam to come around.
Hope: Well, he’s genuinely worried about me, our family. He just wants to protect us.
Thomas: From me.
Hope: From being hurt again.
Thomas: Yeah. Look, I’m sorry, hope. That must have been a really hard conversation.
Hope: Well, liam understands that hope for the future is very important to me, but the security and safety of our family is paramount to him and I don’t disagree with that. So, by the end of our conversation, I assured him that I would tell you both no.
Steffy: You did?
Thomas: Wait, so when you came here today, you– you– you planned on letting me down?
Hope: I was going to tell you no. And liam does have a point. After everything that happened with douglas and beth, after how many chances you’ve been given.
Thomas: Right. But you didn’T. So, something changed your mind?
Hope: I love my line and I don’t wanna see it end and I think it would be good for douglas to see us working together. So yes, I changed my mind. I also believe, thomas, that this time is different.
Thomas: It is different, okay. I promise you, you don’t have to worry and neither does liam. I’m not gonna let you down.
Steffy: I still don’t think liam will find that reassuring.
Hope: Well, I will find a way to get through to him. The sooner I do that, the better. I don’t want him finding out from anyone else, so.
Thomas: Hope, wait. Um, I– look, I– I promise you I meant what I said. I don’t wanna cause you any more pain or heartache. Okay? So… if you have to let me go in order to protect your marriage, it’s okay, all right? I’ll be fine with that. I’m jonathan lawson
Steffy: I see that smile.
Thomas: I am happier than I’ve been in a long time. And– and not just because of what hope’s done for me, bringing me back to the company. I mean, that– that’s amazing. But honestly, she could go home right now and talk to liam and decide that she needs to let me go, but it’s the fact that she actually was willing to put her faith in me again. And you too. It just– it means the world. So, thank you for going to bat for me.
Steffy: Yeah. Hopefully, it doe g
Steffy: No backsliding, okay? I don’t wanna see a hint of your old behavior. You’re in a really positive place right now, and I just want you to stay right here.
Thomas: Okay. I’m not– I’m not– okay. I’m not changing. I’m not changing. I can feel the difference in myself.
Steffy: Good. I know you work so hard on yourself. I really hope it pays off. I mean, our family has just been through so much and we deserve a win this time.
Thomas: Yeah. Um, is dad gonna feel that way about you bringing me back?
Steffy: Okay, thomas. We will cross that bridge when we get there. The bottom line together again. Douglas is moving back into the cabin. It feels like our family is finally coming together. I wonder if it’s the opposite over at hope and liam’S.
Thomas: No, douglas is coming to live with them again, back at the cabin. They should be celebrating. And honestly, I– I meant it. I do not have any ill will toward their marriage.
Liam: I have begged you so many times to keep thomas out of your life, and when you don’t, we all pay the price. I don’t know what– I don’t know what to do anymore. So, I’m begging you again. Please, please do not hire him at hope for the future. Please do not give him that opening in your life. Please.
Hope: Okay. Fine. Fine. I’ll tell him no.
Liam: Oh, my god. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You’re making the right decision, I promise. I promise. Hey, you’re home. You actually just missed wyatt. I– I kinda filled him in on everything. He– he was– he was pretty shocked that– that steffy would even consider hiring thomas back and– and make you go along with it.
Hope: Well, steffy’s not the only one pushing that.
Liam: No. Yeah, of course. Obviously, it was thomas himself and– and taylor. I’m glad we got to have a conversation before you got pressured into making a bad decision. And thank you by the way, for hearing me out ’cause I know that you’ve been really stressed and not just about the line, but about douglas as well, so.
Hope: Well, um, some good news. I actually saw douglas when I was at forrester creations and he said that he– he misses us and he wants to come back home.
Liam: Are you serious?
Hope: Yes.
Liam: Oh, my god.
Hope: It’s incredible.
Liam: Oh, my god, that’s amazing.
Hope: Yeah.
Liam: Yes. So what– how did– what did– what changed his mind? Like– like why did he– why did he decide to come home?
Hope: Uh, well um, he saw thomas and me together.
Liam: Oh, thomas was at forrester today?
Hope: Mm-hmm.
Liam: Was douglas present when you had to tell thomas he wasn’t returning to hftf? ‘Cause I kinda feel like seeing his parents arguing is the last thing he needs right now.
Hope: Oh, we weren’t– we weren’t arguing.
Liam: Well, that’s cool. So, thomas kinda like took it on the chin for the sake of his kid. That’s good. You know, see, that’s growth, right? That’s good.
Hope: Liam.
Liam: What? What?
Hope: You know, I– I respect you and I understand where you’re coming from and I heard everything that you had to say and I was ready to go in there and tell steffy and everyone what we decided, but then I heard all the different sides of the argument and I, um… I changed my mind.
Liam: Um, you– you changed your mind about what specifically? What did you– what did you say?
Hope: I asked thomas to come back to hope for the future as lead designer. Thomas and I are going to be working together again.
