Yes, well, he really must have been in a hurry if he didn’t stop to check your pulse. Like I said, he was desperate to get to the kid.
[ Sighs ] He’s probably figuring that I’d have no more use for him once he told me what I need to know about drew. Right now, he’s probably congratulating himself on outsmarting me and getting away. It doesn’t matter. We kept the secret for as long as we could, but peter is smart and he’s connected. All that matters is he has my daughter, and she’s in danger.

Mac has come through the most critical part of the surgery with flying colors, and there’s still a long road and there’s no guarantees, but everyone’s optimistic. Oh, thank god. Thank you, austin. I was really torn about showing up for sonny tonight because it felt less like an invitation and more like an ultimatum. But then drew helped me see that it’s not a line in the sand, right? I mean, it’s — maybe it’s something that sonny really needs. Drew called it, um, a cry for help, and that really resonated with me. It did. And I thought maybe I could do this for sonny, you know?
