[ Chuckles ] Uh, I know that you’re going through a lot right now, but maybe that’s all the more reason for you to come to my house for thanksgiving. There’s gonna be tons of food, good wine.

I grew up without a father. I grew up with a mother who was chronically ill because, when you left, it devastated her. We are not and never will be your family. I don’t expect to be invited to dinner anytime soon, and I know — I know I have a lot of work to do before I can earn your trust. But tj is a grown man. No, no. He was trying to escape using britt and obrecht as hostages. Until jason caught up to him. Along with drew. They were a formidable team, as I understand it. Formidable. But there was a gunfight, and the tunnels were already unstable… did they dig jason out? We tried. I had a rescue team there within the hour. I promise you, sonny. They did everything they could. They did everything they could. If jason would have survived, they would have saved him. But no body was found? Sometimes, you don’t find a body. 50 tons of earth came down on him, and there was no signs of life detected. No. I’m sorry. Not jason. I mean, the odds of him walking out of there — jason has beaten the odds over and over again, and he will beat the odds this time. I’m gonna go to greece, and I’m gonna find him. Carly! God knows I have a ton of my own. Tj, look. I understand why you want to ask questions and find out more. I-I get it. [ Sighs ] I mean, he’s your grandfather. Why wouldn’t you? [ Scoffs ] Everybody’ll be going to dr. Robinson’s soon.

[ Laughter ] So you’re saying there’s no chance?
[ Breathes deeply ] Not even jason could have survived that cave-in, sam. God, this is so unreal. Scout gets her father back and danny loses his? I’m so sorry. If it means anything, if — if it eases the pain even a little bit, I-I owe my life to jason. If he hadn’t have showed up on that island, I-I would be dead or I would still be controlled by peter. I mean, even when you guys ended things, jason had this responsibility or guilt or whatever the hell you want to call it, so much so he went with you to greece to go look for your mom. So when I rewind the tape… I wish jason never had met you.
[ Breathes deeply ] I wish that, too.
Hi. Guess who’s home? Hi. I look forward to hearing all about greece tomorrow. What’s wrong with now? Uh. I’m kind of in the middle of something. You alright? I’d just rather tell you tomorrow. But, um, welcome home, darling. Jason: A hundred million things could happen before you start to show symptoms.
[ Sniffles ] Amazing things. Disappointing things. Mm. But there’s no way to predict because that’s not how life works. The future is an idea. It’s not a guarantee. Are you disappointed that we bailed on thanksgiving? No. No, I can have pizza anytime I want. What about the kids? The kids are fine. They spend plenty of time with the quartermaines as it is. [ Sniffles ]
[ Voice breaking ] This is insane. I mean, I-I know jason lived a crazy life…
[ Sniffles ] …And I’ve had a feeling that this was gonna happen. I just didn’t think it was gonna happen so soon.
