Ridge: Enough of this. Let’s go.

Hope: Ridge, stop. Mom, make him stop. This is my dad we’re talking about.

Brooke: Ridge, ait. Just wait a minute. Let’s all calm down here. We can talk about this reasonably.

Ridge: What are you doing? Talk about what? Are you defending this guy after everything he’s done? Really?

Katie: It is so easy to make me the scapegoat, to blame us logans for all of your problems.

Quinn: Well, every time I turn around, there you are. Carter and I were just having a private conversation.

Katie: Yeah, I heard. I mean, does it ever get old, this whole “evil logan sisters” narrative?

Quinn: I don’t think the truth ever gets old. But, I mean, I’m not going to apologize for what I was saying. I am kind of sick of it. You know? You show up at my house anytime of the day or night. Brooke’s always yapping in eric’s ear, and your sister, donna, is, well, obviously being extremely inappropriate with my husband.

Katie: My sister, donna, was a very good friend to eric. I mean, we all have been.

Quinn: You have a very interesting idea of friendship.

Katie: I could say the same thing about your idea of fidelity.

Quinn: [ Sighs ] See, my life is none of your business. You and your sisters, you need to back off. Stop interfering in my marriage.

Paris: What is that?

Douglas: That’s the earth’s atmosphere, and this is the rocket entering space. That’s me and daddy.

Paris: Oh! So cool.

Thomas: Yeah, douglas is really into space technology these days.

Paris: Wow. So you’re hoping to be an astronaut when you grow up?

Douglas: Mm-hmm. And a soccer coach.

Paris: Well, what if you could be a soccer coach in space?

Douglas: Whoa! That’d be awesome.

Thomas: All right, bud. It’s time. You have some homework to finish.

Paris: Ah. Homework, huh?

Thomas: Yeah.

Douglas: We’re learning multiplication.

Thomas: Yeah. If you have any questions, ask paris, ’cause she’s a lot smarter than I am.

Douglas: Okay, daddy.

Thomas: No, that– that was actually– never mind. [ Clears throat ]

Paris: Oh, he’s adorable.

Thomas: Well, you are pretty great with him. Thanks for being so– just amazing.

Paris: Are you kidding? This is my element. Being around douglas is so fun.

Thomas: Well, it seems to go both ways. He seems to like you very much.

Katie: Oh, my god. Could you please take some accountability for once in your life?

Quinn: I have. I have apologized to eric a million times.

[ Laughs ] And he’s decided to stick with me and, thank goodness, not allow you and your sisters to do any more damage.

Katie: Why do you keep putting the responsibility on me and my sisters? Do you think that if we weren’t around, all of your struggles would just magically disappear? Let me give you a little reality check. You interfered in your marriage all on your own.

Quinn: Oh, okay. Now you’re referring to me and carter, right? Well– I mean, I’ve already taken my shot, so go ahead. I mean, lay into him. Carter can take it.

Hope: He doesn’t deserve to be kicked out.

Ridge: I’m trying to protect you and your mother.

Hope: I don’t want him to go, not like this.

Ridge: I can’t have him around here, around the people that I care about. And I’m sure your mother agrees.

Brooke: Ridge.

Ridge: What are you doing? Really. Have you forgotten everything this guy’s done to you?

Brooke: No. Of course I haven’t forgotten. But hope wants him to stay, and he’s her father. There’s nothing we can do to change that. Doesn’t your family deserve the best?

Quinn: Have at it, katie. I mean, un–unleash your fury. Carter can take it, can’t he? I mean, we’ve heard the worst, haven’t we?

Carter: Yes, I’ve been quite surprised by some of the conversations I’ve had recently.

Katie: Yeah, I bet.

Carter: Go ahead, katie. You can say whatever you want.

Quinn: Wait. No, you gotta buckle up first because, you know, the logans, they have never learned how to play fair.

Katie: I’m sorry. Were you playing fair when you threatened donna? When you got eric to fire her?

Quinn: After what she pulled with my husband? Yeah, I think she deserved it. Wha– oh, I think you were hoping that maybe eric fired both me and carter so you’d never have to see either of us here ever again? It’s amazing that you logans think that you can stand in judgment of anyone.

Katie: I think carter knows how I feel. And I also know that he wanted a future with you that he was willing to give up everything for you, and you turned him down.

Quinn: To stay with my husband and fight for our future.

Katie: Then why are you here?

Quinn: [ Laughs ] I work here.

Katie: No, no, no. Why are you here in this office reminding carter about how you wanted a future with him? I mean, have you reconsidered? Are you leaving your husband for carter?

Brooke: Ridge, I know how you feel about him.

Ridge: How I feel about him. It’s how we feel about him, right? No?

Brooke: Okay, look, I understand that you’re concerned. I do. It’s just… [ Sighs ] We need to just calm down for a moment.

Ridge: Why?

Brooke: For hope’s sake.

Ridge: Everything I’m doing is for hope’s sake and for yours. I can’t have this criminal in our house.

Deacon: Look, I paid my debt to society. I did my time.

Ridge: Why is he speaking? Why?

Brooke: Ridge, we need to consider what hope wants.

Deacon: Look, I get that you and I have bad history, all right? You’ve got no reason to trust me. I respect that. But I’m not here to cause any problems to my daughter or your family.

Ridge: I’ve heard all this before. I didn’t buy it then. I’m not buying it now.

Hope: Ridge, let him talk and explain himself.

Deacon: Please, all right? I’m not the same guy you knew before. I’ve changed.

Ridge: How have you changed? How? You’re hanging out with sheila, right? That’s birds of a feather.

Deacon: No. No. That’s over. I’m not associating with her anymore.

Ridge: She dumped you? Oh, man. That’s gotta be a low point even for someone like you. I’m so sorry.

Deacon: Okay. I’m gonna try this again. No. I realized how risky it was. I realized it was just gonna make it more difficult for me to have a relationship with hope.

Deacon: That’s all I want. I just want a chance to be a father to my daughter.

Hope: Can we at least let him try? Is that really so much to ask?

Paris: You are douglas’s hero, and that’s very clear.

Thomas: And he’s mine. And he’s the toughest, most resilient person I know. And he inspires me every day to keep working on myself and making myself better and also focusing on what’s truly important in life.

Paris: Kids will do that, won’t they?

Thomas: That’s why I want him to look up to me, you know? That’s what keeps me working and trying to be the best version of myself so I can give him what he deserves.

Paris: You’re already doing it, thomas. I mean, hope’s been a godsend, a wonderful addition to douglas’s whole world. But you got to give yourself some credit. You’re an amazing parent.

Thomas: That means a lot, coming from someone as, uh, kind and compassionate as you. You– you’re kind of like hope in that way. Hey, bud, did you finish your homework?

Douglas: Yep.

Paris: Wow. That was fast.

Thomas: Right? Okay, do you have any questions?

Douglas: I only have one question.

Thomas: Okay.

Douglas: It’s for paris.

Thomas: Okay.

Paris: For me? All right. Shoot.

Douglas: Are you my daddy’s girlfriend? Serena: It’s my 3:10

Douglas: I like you, paris.

Paris: Well, that’s good because I like you, too.

Douglas: I’m so glad you’re my daddy’s girlfriend.

Paris: [ Laughs ] Oh, douglas. I am not your dad’s girlfriend.

Douglas: You aren’t?

Paris: No.

Douglas: Well, you live here together.

Thomas: Yeah. We’re just, uh– we’re just roommates, bud. Just two friends living together.

Paris: Remember when your dad almost bought a new house?

Thomas: Right. The one in the canyon that we were really excited about? Well, that’s when paris moved in here.

Paris: And when that deal fell through, I insisted that your dad keep living here.

Thomas: She was kind enough to let me stay.

Paris: So here we are. Just… friends staying in the same place until your dad finds a new house.

Thomas: Yeah. Just for the time being. Just a short-term kind of thing.

Paris: Does that make sense?

Thomas: All right. Now that that’s all cleared up, do you have any questions about your homework?

Douglas: Nope. I aced it.

Paris: Ooh! You aced it.

Thomas: Of course he did. Your teacher’s gonna be very proud.

Paris: I am very impressed.

Douglas: Paris.

Paris: Yeah.

Douglas: When daddy buys the new house, will you be moving in with us, too?

Quinn: Am I going back to carter?

Katie: It’s a simple question.

Quinn: Well, you would like that, wouldn’t you? I mean, if I–if I left eric, then you and brooke could just pave the way to install donna in my place.

Katie: You know, I have no control over what eric does or doesn’t do. Believe it or not, my sisters and i just want him to be happy.

Quinn: You would have a field day, wouldn’t you? Wait. No. I just wanna know what would be the first thing that you guys would do. Would you–would you throw all of my clothes in the pool? No, you would take my portrait off the wall. You would douse it in lighter fluid, and then– and then you guys could have a big bonfire on the tennis court.

Katie: Maybe we could roast marshmallows. I mean, seriously, quinn, don’t give me any ideas.

Quinn: Well, I wouldn’t put anything past you.

Katie: And for the record, you have no right to harass eric about who he sees and who he doesn’t see, especially if you’re here contemplating running away with carter.

Quinn: Oh, that’s right. That’s right. I never answered your question. You wanted to know if I was resuming my relationship with carter.

Katie: Yep. That’s what I wanna know.

Quinn: No.

Katie: No. Wow. That’s blunt. I mean, he’s standing right here. I mean, don’t you think it’s a little insensitive to talk that way in front of him? I mean, especially since he wanted a future with you and everything that the two of you have shared and the fact that he still has feelings for you?

Hope: Ridge, I’m not naive. I understand both of your concerns.

Ridge: Maybe you don’T. Your mom and I, we have a lot of history with this, uh, gentleman over here. And maybe you don’t grasp all of it.

Hope: No, I get that there are a lot of complicated dynamics at play, and there’s a lot of hurt and anger on all sides. And I hear you. I really do. I respect your feelings about this, ridge, but that is your perspective. Okay, I don’t share it.

Brooke: Hope’s never been able to form her own thoughts or opinions about her father. It’s only what we told her.

Ridge: I’m sorry. This is not my perspective. We gave you the facts of what happened.

Hope: And I am not questioning them. I’m not even denying them. My dad has let me down. I know that. But I believe that he has changed. And this is about me having an opportunity to really have a relationship with my dad.

Ridge: And what about liam? He’s okay with this?

Hope: At the end of the day, it is my decision to make.

Ridge: I see. And what about the children?

Deacon: Come on, man. You’re talking about my grandkids. Do you really think that I would do anything to hurt them?

Ridge: This is our job to protect those little kids from guys like that and from sheila. Can we do that? Can we make it about the children?

Hope: I do. I always put my children first.

Ridge: That makes me very happy. ‘Cause that means you’re not buying this changed-man routine that he’s selling right now. And neither are you. So, please, tell him to get out and never come back.

Douglas: I hope you live with us when daddy buys the big house. I’m sure there’ll be plenty of room.

Paris: Douglas, you’re the sweetest. Thanks for making me feel so welcome.

Thomas: But this is paris’s home. She just moved in.

Paris: Yeah, this is where I’m gonna live from now on. Maybe you could, uh, help me hang up some pictures.

Douglas: Even after daddy moves out?

Paris: That’s the plan. But it doesn’t mean we can’t still hang out.

Douglas: Really?

Paris: Of course. You’re my dude.

Thomas: And, uh, well, when we move into our new place, we can just have her over& for a swim.

Paris: Oh, wow. A swim. So that means your next place is gonna have a pool.

Douglas: Dad promised.

Thomas: Yes. Whatever the king wants, my liege.

Paris: Well, that sounds like a blast. Count me in. But until you find you fabulous new digs, you can come chill here whenever you want. It’s your home, too. How does that sound? Cool?

Douglas: Cool.

Paris: All right. Can I get a high five? Oh, yeah! Can I get a fist bump? And a hug? Oh! He gives the sweetest squeezes.

Quinn: You’re actually defending carter.

Carter: I don’t need defending.

Katie: No, you don’T. And I will never condone the two of you having an affair. But I know you. You’re good, and you’re a decent man.

Quinn: Oh, so– so carter gets cut some slack, but when it comes to me, I’m completely irredeemable.

Katie: Well, if the shoe fits.

Quinn: Wow. Talk about a double standard.

Katie: Oh, come on, quinn. You were clearly the instigator, because you need so much attention, and, unfortunately, carter was there and got caught up in you. And hopefully, that will never happen again. Because he deserves a woman who puts him first.

Deacon: I didn’t come here to complicate things. It’s the last thing I wanna do. I just wanted to make amends but not at the expense of causing any more problems for you, and not if it means causing problems for ridge and your mom.

Ridge: And you would like that, wouldn’t you?

Deacon: You know, man, you’re right. The old me probably would’ve. I would’ve used that to my advantage, but I’m not about that anymore. I’m willing to leave here whether than cause any more pain, any more hurt.

Hope: Dad, please, we still have so much to– I don’t want you to go.

Deacon: You have no idea what it means to me to hear you say that. Just knowing that you believe in me, that gives me the strength to believe in myself. Hope, I love you so much. I’m gonna miss you. I’ll be thinking about you, rooting for you, and missing those grandkids.

Hope: Dad.

Deacon: No, it’s okay. I am so proud of the woman that you’ve become. Your grit. Your grace. Your decency. I love you. Brooke, you did this. You…

[ Laughs ] You built her up into this amazing human being. You picked up the slack, and you did it beautifully. And for that, I’ll always be in your debt.

Ridge: That’s it? All right. Great speech. Thanks for coming by.

Hope: Dad, you don’t have to do this.

Deacon: This is the best thing I can do right now. But I’m always gonna be with you. You and I are connected now forever. There’s a little piece of you in my heart, and I’m in your heart. Okay?

Brooke: Honey–

Hope: No. No.
