EJ and Chad saw each other at the pub. They talked about Theo running DiMera. EJ wondered why Tony would want Theo to do it instead of asking Johnny. Chad talked to him about Thomas, Cat, and Rachel. EJ told him that Cat was heartbroken over their break up. Chad accused EJ of trying to be with Cat. EJ told him that he wasn’t interested in Cat. After they finished talking, Chad ran into Cat. She asked him about Thomas. Chad said the things he’s doing to make things right haven’t worked out. Cat tried to make him feel better, but it didn’t do any good. Chad walked away from her. Mark went to see EJ. He apologized to EJ for what he did to Chad and gave him his resume. EJ was impressed with what he saw. Julie went to Titan to talk to Alex and Stephanie about a book launch at the book store. Stephanie admitted that she was Anastasia. Julie was shocked and wondered why Stephanie confessed to writing the book. Stephanie said Leo forced her to do it. Leo ended up showing up. He told Stephanie that he wouldn’t reveal her identity, but suggested that she tell everyone the truth. Stephanie agreed with him and wanted him to do the story on it. Leo wanted to do the story as well as the story on the bookstore launch. Julie agreed to let him do it.
Leo broke into the clinic to look around. The wall was fixed and the keypad locked. While Leo was trying to open it, Rita showed up and threatened to call the police if he didn’t leave. Leo lied and said he lost an earbud when he rescued Gwen and was looking for it. Rita didn’t believe him and wanted him out. Leo ended up leaving. EJ told Mark that he could use his research abilities if he signed an agreement. He told Mark that he couldn’t ask questions and had to do what he was asked. He told Mark that the research wouldn’t land him back in prison. Mark agreed to do it. When Mark left, Rita went to see EJ. EJ told her to make sure Mark did what he was told. Rita told him that Leo was snooping around. EJ told her that Leo needed to be dealt with.
