JJ showed up at the Hernandez house to question Gabi about Philip’s beating. He said Kate thought it was a workplace argument with Xander and asked what they knew about it. Gabi said Xander and Philip were excited when they took over DiMera but now there was tension between them. While they were talking, JJ asked about EJ’s shooting. Arianna ended up showing up and Gabi was excited to see her. Gabi asked how Arianna got to the house. Arianna said her flight came in but no one was there to pick her up. A furious Gabi blamed Javi and fired him for messing up. Javi told her he quit. When JJ and Javi left, Arianna let Gabi know that she texted to let her know that her flight was canceled and she had to get another one. She told Gabi that she owed Javi an apology. Belle went to the pub to get soup for Tate. Doug told her that Philip was attacked and in the hospital. When they finished talking, Doug walked away. Shawn came in the pub. Belle told him what happened with Philip. She noticed that he seemed distracted. Shawn said he was distracted because he was worrying about his parents. He changed the subject by telling her that it was great that John would be back soon. While they were talking, Shawn said he hadn’t heard anything about his father and was upset that he let him down again. He told her about the drug being missing. Belle told him not to give up. She said her father came back so his could too.
While Doug was cleaning the pub, Julie came in. She refused to eat there as long as Doug was working there. When she was about to leave, he stopped her. Doug told her he was saving up so he could leave town after he bought her necklace back. He said he would track it down and buy it back for her. Julie told him not to bother because he couldn’t make up for what he did. She said she wanted him gone. When she yelled at Doug, Shawn and Belle came over to see what was going on. Julie said they couldn’t help. She said she was praying for their fathers. When Julie left, Shawn asked Belle if she kept in touch with Kevn. He said they were trying to find his roommate Asher. Belle said the name sounded familiar, but she didn’t know why. She did an online search and found out that she represented Asher. Belle looked through his file. Paulina met with EJ at the DiMera mansion and wondered what he wanted. EJ wanted her to talk Chanel into talking to Johnny so he wouldn’t cut him out of his life. He reminded her that they were family whether they liked it or not. Paulina reminded him that he tried to get her fired. She said she wasn’t buying his reformed act. Paulina thought he was conning her again. While they were talking, she told him Abe was voting to accept Xander’s bid. EJ said he was okay with the decision because he wanted to focus on their kid. He said he wanted to make amends and help his son realize he could be a good parent. Paulina told him that Johnny and Chanel made up. EJ was glad they made up. He said he wasn’t going to give up on Johnny.
