THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

 – Get down!

[Suspenseful music]

[Gun firing, shouting] – I have an instinct about these things. You were born to be a performer. You just need the right person to guide you. – What the hell? – Linc, is that you? You’re so insignificant, you’re easy to miss. – You guys look like you’re enjoying yourselves. – Mm-hmm. – You two are doing a fantastic job. Everything is going off without a hitch. – Don’t jinx it. – Well, you know, the trick is to make it look effortless, which maxie is doing beautifully. – Thank you. – Because no one needs to know what goes on behind the scenes.

[Laughs] – Well I, for one, can’t wait for the big act coming up later. – Oh, we have a lot of great ones before that, which reminds me, I should check on them. So excuse me. – Ok. – Maxie was younger than georgie at the first nurses’ ball. Now, look at her. She’s running the show. – Time sure flies, doesn’t it? That’s one thing I know for sure. And if the nurses’ ball could have all of its unexpected acts happen, including mac’s surprise acts over the years, it can handle anything.

[Laughter] – Well, I remember my first performance. I was absolutely petrified. Everything was a big blur. And when it was over, the one thing I knew for sure, that I was better off in the audience. – I remember being furious at robin and stone’s romeo and juliet scene. I mean, I was so mad at kevin and the kids, my stand-up became a tirade.

[Laughing] – Oh, we can laugh about it now. At least you were a hit. – Yeah, not with robin. – [Chuckles] – Oh, well, what about my act? – At least your situation with robin didn’t end up in an out and out brawl. – Talk about the show must go on. – Oh, I–I had no idea what the nurses’ ball would come to mean to robin personally or to the whole community. – Yeah. With all of the surprises and the loved ones lost, I’m really proud of the tradition that we started in those days. And I’m even more proud that we’re continuing it on tonight. – Hear, hear.

[Dramatic music]

– Oh, my gosh. I am so, so sorry. – [Groans] Back off! – I think your mother’s looking for you. – Ok. Um, are you ok? – Yeah, I’m fine. Linc and I have some business to discuss. Ow. – What the hell was that?

[Suspenseful music] – Lucy, no! – Victor’s men will have surrounded the house! They’re coming in front and back! – Oh, my god. Oh, my god. We’re–we’re trapped. – No, we’re not. You got out your window before, remember? – Ok. Right, right! We can all go out that way. – Anna, go with her! – No, come on. – No. – Come on. Come on. – Lucy, leave now. – No, I’m not leaving you! No! No! – Lucy, you have to go. – Ok, but I’m getting help. – Now, go. Go. This is your last chance to get out alive. – I’m not leaving you. – They’re gonna be in here any minute. – Well, they won’t like what they find. – Oh, thank you. – Yeah. – [Laughs] But you really don’t have to wait on me. – Well, it gives me an excuse to escape the muckety mucks and talk with you. – [Laughs] Well, they’re not all muckety mucks, and you never need an excuse to talk to me. – Good to know. So how are things with gladys? – I’m not sure what you mean. You spoke to her earlier. She seemed fine. – Oh, no, no, no. No, gladys is having a great time. I was asking about you. When you found out that she sold your husband’s garage, you were pretty upset. – Yeah. Actually, that still bothers me, but gladys had good reasons. It had to be a painful reminder for her to deal with that every day, all the paperwork, constantly seeing brando’s name. She sold it to give us both closure. – But I mean, did she even go over the details of the sale with you, you know? Do you know who the new owner is? – Actually, I don’t think so. Why are you– – sasha. I wondered where you disappeared to.

[Chuckles]

– Clear! – [Gasps] Oh, valentin. You’re alive! The question is, for how long? – [Laughing] Oh, I must be the luckiest mother-in-law in the world. – Aw, thank you, gladys. I love seeing you enjoying yourself. – Oh, cody.

[Scoffs] Almost forgot. Dante was asking for you. It sounded important. – Really? Uh, well, thanks. I’ll go check that out. Excuse me. – What? – Are you all right? – Why wouldn’t I be? – That cody fella, I’ve heard things about him. He’s not a reliable character. – Hey. – Do you have time to talk shop? – About the late deputy mayor? – Yeah. I got a call on the red carpet. Preliminary autopsy indicates there was no air in her lungs. Eileen ashby didn’t drown. She was killed by a fall. – So she either jumped, she slipped, or– – somebody pushed her. – We need to check her known associates. – Start with victor cassadine. – Ow.

[Sighs] – What you did just now, interrupting me while I was recruiting new talent, comes perilously close to violating our agreement. – Per our agreement, I mentioned nothing to josslyn about you being a sleazebag. – I pay well for your silence. You got your songs back. Sometimes I think I overpaid. Those songs are good. And who would believe what you have to say about me, anyway? I’m going to track down josslyn jacks. – Sam, I told you how beautiful you look? – Um, no, but thank you. You look handsome yourself. – Thank you. So what’s up? Why did you need to see me? – What are you talking about? – Uh, gladys corbin said you were looking for me. – She did, huh? Well, I kind of avoid her as much as possible– you know, the whole not being able to choose your relatives thing. – [Chuckles] Wait a minute. Gladys really told you that dante was looking for you? – I kid you not. – Ok, well, I wonder why she would do something like that. – Hello. – Hey. – Hi. – Mind if I join you? – Oh, by all means. – Of course, of course. Sit down. – Oh, thank you. – Everything ok? – Trina’s having such a good time, and it’s all I can do not to go over there and talk to her. But I don’t want to put a damper on her evening, so I’m just– – it’s not always going to be like this. – That’s what I keep telling myself. – You know, for what it’s worth, my dad and I were estranged– estranged for a lot of years, but he never gave up on me. And I don’t think trina’s going to take nearly as long to realize how much she needs you. – Good evening. I’m deanna sirtis, a nurse with general hospital. Tonight, I have the pleasure of introducing a phenomenal talent to our stage. This amazing artist was already established and accomplished in her career as a public defender. She stepped out of her comfort zone to pursue her dream of touching people with her god-given talent, and we should all be grateful she did. Everyone, please welcome danielle ponder.

[Applause]

[Cheers and applause]

– Any sign of lucy coe? – No, just an open bedroom window. – [Groans] So the bird has flown? No matter. I’ll take care of that later. – You weren’t exactly subtle taking the house, dad. Someone from the neighborhood will have contacted law enforcement. I’m sure they’re on their way. – Oh, is that so? – Well, these are the suburbs. So if you don’t want a lengthy gun battle with the police, I think maybe you should probably leave. – [Scoffs] Suggesting that I just turn around and walk away after going to all this trouble to track you and anna down? I’m not going anywhere till I get what I came for. And you, valentin, are going to give it to me. – Danielle, thank you so much, again, for performing tonight. – Aw, thank you. You know, the nurses’ ball funds really important work, and I’m just happy to lend my voice for the cause. – Oh, you did more than lend your voice. You blew the room away. They would still be applauding if we hadn’t closed the curtains. – I agree. I agree. Hi. – Hi. – I’m carly spencer. My mom, bobbie, is maxie’s co-chair, and I shamelessly used my connections to come back here just so I could meet you. – Nice to meet you, carly. – You were so amazing. I mean, of course, for your incredible voice and lyrics, but just as much for leaving your law career and following your dreams. How did you have the courage to do that? – You know, it just got to the point where I knew I couldn’t do both, and I could never leave behind music, so I just completely surrendered. – You followed your instincts. – Sounds like you know something about that. – [Laughs] – Yeah, carly’s kind of known for following her instincts, no matter where they lead. – And I’ve never regretted it. – Neither have I. – Yes.

[Laughter] – Apparently, cody was dating dr. Britt westbourne, the late. May she rest. – I know, gladys. – Ok, but–but I overheard maxie saying that britt found out he was no good and broke things off. Something to do with a necklace. – A necklace? – Yeah. I don’t know the details, but it concerns me. You are just starting to get your life back on track, sasha. I’d hate to see it derailed by somebody trying to work you for your money. – A shot of tequila, please. – Does my uncle know that you’re drinking on the job? – I don’t know. Maybe you should run and tell him. – You’re here tonight to work, not to suck down tequila shots and pretend that you belong. – I got a ticket like everyone else. – A ticket that my uncle sonny bought you. You are an employee, so how about you get back to work? – Spencer. What are you doing?

[Dramatic music]

– Bobbie. The ball’s going great. – Yeah. – Yeah. – Do you need something? – I was thinking of starting up a epiphany johnson scholarship fund for the nursing students. So I wanted to… add to my donation in the name of stone cates. – [Sighs] Sonny, I’ve never– I’ve never been ok with the way you’ve treated my daughter, but you have always been very generous when it comes to the nurses’ ball. And the way you took care of stone was nothing short of heroic. – Stone was a special person, and we did everything we could for him. And when he lost his fight with aids, I vowed to continue in his memory. Listen, giving the nurses’ ball donations, aids and hiv research, I– that’s the least I can do. – Damn you, sonny. You do have your moments. This is definitely one of them.

[Laughter] Stone would be very proud of you.

oh then you take me by the hand I feel better again oh I feel better now – I want the ice princess necklace, the real one. – Last I heard, it was destroyed by fire. – This is your very last chance, valentin. I wasn’t able to claim you as a child, but I watched over you all along, smoothing the way for you. I’m the one who got you into the wsb. Yeah. As it turns out, that was a bad mistake, as that’s where you first became fixated with miss devane. – I proved myself worthy of the wsb on my own merit. – Oh, you’d like to believe so, I know. I’m sure you do. And it’s true, you– you were a brilliant analyst. But this, this life you’re so proud of building for yourself, it was built with my influence. You did nothing without my help. – You want a thank-you card? – So imagine my disappointment when after stepping forward to claim you, after acknowledging you as my child, you rejected me. You lied. You manipulated me. You sided with my enemies. You even faked your own death, for god’s sake! I spent weeks arguing with french bureaucrats, trying to claim your body! Weeks consumed with guilt, mourning my son, who wasn’t even dead. I should kill you right now and have done with it. But I won’T. I’ll give you one more chance to redeem yourself, to step up as a cassadine! Do what’s right for your family, and give me the necklace!

[Dramatic music] – Well, if you’ll excuse me, I’m on a schedule and due backstage, so– – what was that, calling dex an employee? – That’s what he is. He’s supposed to be protecting my uncle sonny, not drinking tequila shots. – Spencer, stop. God, I can’t– I can’t believe this. – Trina, listen. – No, you listen.

[Scoffs] I hate when you act like this, acting like some ugly entitled jerk lording your privilege around. I thought you were done doing that. I guess I was wrong. I hate that I’m always wrong about you. God. – Trina. – Nice work. – Wait! – Nice work, spencer. Once again, you’ve hurt trina. – Oh, like the way that you did with cam? – Like you are in any position to judge. Ever since you got back to port charles, bringing the lovely esme with you, by the way, you have caused nothing but misery. So you know, why don’t you do us all a favor, especially trina. Go back to europe, and stay there. – How are y’all doing tonight? – Dex. Why don’t you pull up a chair, man? – Oh, thank you, but I can’T. Cody, it’s time. – Oh, time for what? – You’ll see. – Guess so. – Me? Wish me luck. – Why do you need that? – Well, let just say there’s things you do for your family you wouldn’t do for anyone else. Thanks. Uh, hi. Um, you know, when I first joined the staff at gh seven years ago, I was amazed at the way the city of port charles shows up for the hospital, the way you’re all showing up here tonight, including our next two performers, one who is very near to my heart. So please welcome to the stage, harrison chase and the fabulous blaze.

[Applause] – Whoo!

[“Arrest me”] – I know I never heard

you say you would forgive me

but, baby, that would be

way too easy

– the night drive brings us to a better place

alone at last

where the pain is left

and the love moves fast

oh, I’m begging you, begging you

begging you, begging you, baby

won’t you slow down and save me

save me, save me, save me, oh

this is our denial

this is our denial

this is our denial

oh, your green eyes

telling me lies

this is our denial

endless heartbreaks

like rolling the dice

– I promise to be true, but not only to you

trust is a game I know you’re gonna lose – if you let me in and open your heart

I’ll fill the void you’ve got

this is our denial

this is our denial

this is our denial

oh, your green eyes

telling me lies

this is our denial

endless heartbreaks

like rolling the dice

this is our denial

oh, your green eyes

telling me lies

this is our denial

but this hurricane

has kept me alive

you kept me alive

[Cheering]

[Rhythmic clapping]

– This is our denial – oh, your green eyes

telling me lies – this is our denial – endless heartbreaks

like rolling the dice

this is our denial

oh, your green eyes

telling me lies – this is our denial – but this hurricane

has kept me alive

you kept me alive

[Cheers and applause]

– Our new single drops wednesday. Don’t forget to download it! – Hey, how about them, huh? Weren’t they great? Take another bow. Get up here. – Get your hands off her, you disgusting creep! – Whoa.

[Audience mumbling] – You’ve been very upfront about my life and my accomplishments. Do you mind if I return the favor? – I prefer you return the necklace. – It was never your necklace. – I am the head of the cassadine family. The ice princess necklace, by rights, belongs to our family. – You know, you have a tendency to conflate your megalomania with the family. Whatever your grand plan, no other cassadine cares– not spencer, not nikolas, wherever he is, not alexis or her daughters, and certainly not me. This is just a giant waste of time and energy. I do not have the necklace. – Huh. You’re going to make this difficult. Well, I’d have expected nothing less. I have to admit, I’m going to enjoy the next part. – Oh! Uh! – No! – Ah! – Unless you give me the necklace, watkins will break the lovely anna’s neck and leave her paralyzed. – I don’t have the damn necklace! – [Gasps] No necklace. – See, I had thought of–of killing anna, but then I thought, well, where’s the fun in that? I wonder, my dear, how long your boyfriend is going to go on loving you when you can no longer stand. – This man deserves no credit for chase and blaze’s appearance here tonight, nor for their talent! He calls himself a manager? He’s a parasite! – Watch yourself. – He latches himself onto young talent, and he exploits them both financially and sexually. Linc told me that he would kill my career if I didn’t sleep with him, which he tried to do. Linc owned all my songs, and the only way I could get them back was to sign a non-disclosure agreement. But I’m breaking that agreement here tonight. I refuse to remain silent about who and what linc brown is– a sexual predator! – These are obvious lies. No one will corroborate a word.

[Dramatic music]

– Spencer cassadine? – Yes? – I’m here to deliver a message. Your uncle will be contacting you soon. Be ready when he does, and do exactly as you’re told.

[Ominous music]

– Brook lynn could have been a star, but now she’s just a jealous has-been making up stories to try and keep herself relevant. – Ok, it’s time to clear the stage. – She’s not lying! – Whoa. – He did it to me too! Everything that brook lynn said has happened to me! Linc brown is a predator, and he’s been holding my career hostage! But I didn’t sign a nondisclosure agreement. I’m going on the record, tonight! – You’re caught up in her hysteria. – Go to hell! – It’s time to clear the stage. – Watch it. You’re not a cop anymore. – No, I’m a cop. And you know what? You’re creating a public disturbance. Let’s go. – Get him out of here.

[Cheers and applause]

[Tense music]

[Smooth jazz music]

– Hi, everyone. Are you having a good time?

[Cheers and applause] It’s a great night, isn’t it? Yeah. Thank you so much for being here. And as co-owner of the metro court, I am so happy to be able to use this ballroom for such a worthy cause. It also affords me the privilege of being able to introduce our next performers. Please welcome to the stage georgie spinelli, james west, and their oma, liesl.

[Cheers and applause]

[Regal music]

– Ladies and gentlemen, tonight you’ve seen singers and dancers. – And llamas.

[Laughter] – But now, it’s time for some real magic. James?

[Playful music]

[Applause] Tonight, with the help of our incredible assistant… – we will perform illusions to surprise and delight you. – Now, for our first illusion. You see we have an empty tube, nothing special or unusual. And you can see there is nothing inside or outside. But when we add a little bit of magic– – wow!

[Cheers and applause]

– For our next illusion, we will make water disappear. – So here we have a normal pitcher of water– you know, nothing strange or unusual. But before we make this water disappear, what’s your favorite color? – Ooh, um, blue! – Blue. Ok, james, a little magic, please.

[Gasps]

[Cheers and applause] – Now to make the water disappear. Georgie, we need some more magic, please. – [Gasps]

[Cheers and applause] For our next illusion, we will make our assistant disappear.

[Gasping]

[Suspenseful music]

[Footsteps approaching]

[Door opening] – I’ve seen combat, but, I don’t know, this feels scarier. – Eh, no worse than being thrown from a bull. – You done this before? – Hell no. Just a whole bunch of other stupid stuff.

[Gasping] – Wow!

[Cheers and applause] – Now we will bring our assistant back. – Oh. – Uh-oh! – Oh, no! – Oh. – Oh. – Ah, finally. That’s more like it. Ah. Release them.

[Groans] – You know, the tragedy is that we could have done this together, valentin, you and me, father and son. Instead I’ve had to choose another heir to carry on the cassadine name. Your betrayal broke my heart, so it’s only fair that I return the favor.

[Dramatic music]
