TV Interview!
Interviews with Kat McNamara, director James Bamford and producer Steven Paul of the film “High Ground” by Suzanne 3/10 and 3/17/25
Here are two interviews…one I did with James Bamford and Steven Paul on March 10th, and one I did with Kat McNamara on March 17. I enjoyed speaking to all three of them.
Katherine (or “Kat” as she’s called) was great fun to chat with. I learned something today. She is not only beautiful and multi-talented, but she’s also very smart, kind and dedicated to making change in the world (as well as in her own life). I learned that from reading about her, as well as from speaking with her. I would have like to ask her about how she deals with actor’s disappointments (such as not getting the “Arrow” spinoff, or having her other show canceled after one season), but I’ll bet she handles them very well.
The director and producer have clearly been working on movies and TV shows for a long time. Bamford worked on “Arrow “, so he and Kat know each other very well. They also did some previous movies together. They were both very good about answering my questions.
“High Ground” is an action-packed modern western, but I noticed that it was also similar to some horror movies I’ve watched. Kat (“Arrow,” “Walker: Independence”) plays a local waitress, the girlfriend of the new sheriff, Jake (Charlie Weber, “How to Get Away With Murder”). Jake’s father, Ezra (Oscar-winner Jon Voight) is the old wise man who’s trying to help Jake become the great sheriff that he knows he can become. A stranger, played by Henry Thomas (“E.T.”, “The Fall of The House of Usher”) comes to town, arrested by the deputy for speeding. Some gangsters are hunting the stranger and are willing to do whatever’s necessary to get him. It’s an exciting movie, with amazing actors, and it’s worth watching if you like action films or westerns. It premieres tomorrow, 3/18/25, on various digital platforms and OnDemand. I prefer Amazon Prime, myself, but I’m sure it will be in other places as well.

KAT MCNAMARA is a singer, dancer, songwriter, actress and producer. Her first big role was in “Shadowhunters” on ABC Family. Then she was in the 2nd and 3rd Maze Runner movies. She appeared in the last two seasons of “Arrow” on The CW as Oliver and Felicity’s daughter, Mia, from the future. Following that, she starred in the western spinoff of “Walker” on The CW, “Walker: Independence,” which, unfortunately, lasted only one season. She’s been making movies, like “High Ground,” ever since.
JAMES BAMFORD, also known by the nickname “BamBam”, is a Canadian film & television director, who was the sole “directing producer” of the series Arrow and directed 17 episodes of the series including multiple premieres, season finales, crossovers and the series finale. He continued on in his career to become a stunt coordinator, 2nd unit director, then director, and directing producer/executive producer. (From Wikipedia)
