“Doctor Blake Mysteries” Review on by Eva 7/8/2022
The show comes from Australia and stars popular Australian actor Craig McLachlan an as Doctor Lucien Blake who returns home to take over his deceased father’s medical practice in the small town where he grew up.
Dr Blake has a knack for solving murders with his second job as police surgeon. Dr. Blake does autopsies and takes care of the police force members when they are injured. Dr. Blake has help from his housekeeper Jean (Nadine Garner), her nephew Danny (Rick Donald) a young constable and District Nurse Mattie O’Brien (Cate Wolfe). The show is set in1959.
The mysteries aren’t as Interesting as the way Doctor Blake solves the mysteries using his medical knowledge and re-enacting the crime. The show keeps you guessing until the end. Doctor Blake also has trauma from his time as a POW during World War II.
The episodes start out slowly but once they get going you wonder who killed the victim and it is never the person you suspect which is the fun part for mystery fans.
The show will air four episodes back-to-back starting at 8AM Eastern time on July 7, 2022. The show will begin airing season 2 on July 21, 2022 at 11AM Eastern time.
I think that if you enjoy mysteries you will enjoy watching this show. Even though the episodes begin slowly, stick with it you won’t regret it. I give this show a 4 out of 5 stars.
