Xander instructs Sarah to get out while he&#8217;s got this. George then pulls out his gun and shoots Xander. Xander pulls his gun out and fires back, shooting George before collapsing onto a table. George drops his gun and staggers out of the room. Sarah kicks George&#8217;s gun across the room as she goes to check on Xander.<\/p>\n<p>At the hospital, Brady tells Marlena that Rachel asking about Halloween candy was a good sign. Marlena encourages that she&#8217;s going to be alright. Brady admits he&#8217;s so impressed with how Rachel is handling everything. Marlena adds that Kristen leaving without putting up a fight was a good sign. Brady says he&#8217;s mad because once again it&#8217;s Kristen doing the unthinkable and everyone else having to pay the price for it. Marlena asks if Brady thinks Kristen is still a threat to Johnny. Brady states that she swore on Rachel&#8217;s life that she&#8217;s not, so he guesses he has to believe her. Marlena asks what&#8217;s going on with him. Brady mentions that Sarah said she was going to meet them there and he has no idea what&#8217;s holding her up.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah holds Xander&#8217;s wound and calls in that they have two gunshot victims and need paramedics right away.<\/p>\n<p>George staggers down the hallway of DiMera Enterprises until EJ approaches.<\/p>\n<p>Leo sits in the town square, trying to come up with ideas for future episodes of his podcasts. Leo says everyone loved Lani&#8217;s story but they need to balance fun stuff with the serious. Leo talks about the idea of a quiz show until he gets an alert on his phone that there&#8217;s been two gunshot victims reported at DiMera Enterprises.<\/p>\n<p>Sydney is at the DiMera Mansion when she gets a call from Dante. Sydney tells him not to worry as the contracts are almost ready. Dante then tells her that Dominic said it was okay to give her his number as long as it&#8217;s only her and Marlena which Sydney agrees to.<\/p>\n<p>Marlena tells Brady that Sarah is probably with a patient as they decide to wait. Marlena asks how Rachel reacted when she learned Kristen might be going away. Brady admits she obviously didn&#8217;t want her mother to go but Kristen told her she had to go because she had made a terrible mistake, but didn&#8217;t go in to specifics. Brady says that Rachel knew from experience that Kristen once again had to get out of dodge to avoid going to jail. Brady says saying that out loud makes his blood boil. Marlena asks if he has any idea where Kristen was going. Brady responds that he doesn&#8217;t know or care, but the next time she comes back into their lives, she better be a changed woman. Brady adds that Kristen claims she wants to change but thinks that would require a lobotomy. Marlena believes people can change if they put in the work. Brady points out that Rachel did and is doing better as she said she learned a lot in Bayview and had a huge revelation about her mother. Brady informs Marlena that Rachel&#8217;s words that maybe her life is a little better when her mom isn&#8217;t there. Marlena agrees that&#8217;s a revelation. Brady states that Rachel knows Kristen will always love her, but he thinks the combo of the therapy and all the disappearing acts got to her. Marlena says it sounds like Rachel is going to be okay even if her mother isn&#8217;t around. Brady admits he has a bit of peace of mind that Rachel will get relief that her mother is not around. Brady then gets a call from Kayla that shocks him.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah tries to slow Xander&#8217;s bleeding and encourages that the ambulance will be there any minute. Sarah urges Xander to stay with her and keep his eyes on her.<\/p>\n<p>George asks for EJ&#8217;s help. EJ argues that George was supposed to help him and now he&#8217;s here getting his hands dirty with the police on their way. George pleads with EJ to get him out of there. EJ asks what happened. George responds that it was Xander. EJ asks where the laptop is. George tells him that it&#8217;s still in the lab, so EJ drops George to the floor against the wall and walks away.<\/p>\n<p>A paramedic arrives at the lab and instructs Sarah to keep pressure on Xander&#8217;s wound as he prepares an IV. Sarah encourages Xander about Victoria. Xander starts having flashbacks to he and Sarah&#8217;s life together from the beginning of their relationship. Sarah urges him to be strong because Victoria needs him. Sarah says they will get him to the hospital and he will be fine.<\/p>\n<p>Shawn arrives at DiMera Enterprises with another cop and finds George dead against the wall in the hallway. Shawn mentions the coroner being on the way and instructs the cop to have the entire hall swept.<\/p>\n<p>EJ goes home to the DiMera Mansion and greets Sydney in the living room. EJ hugs her but then notices he has George&#8217;s blood on his sleeve and quickly hides his hand behind his back. Sydney questions where he&#8217;s been as she thought they were having dinner together. EJ says he&#8217;s sorry as something came up. Sydney asks him if everything is okay.<\/p>\n<p>Brady tells Kayla not to worry about the hospital and take care of Steve. Brady says to let him know that he&#8217;s on it as he hangs up. Marlena questions Steve being hurt. Brady confirms he was on a stakeout but he&#8217;s fine now at home with Kayla. Brady adds that Sarah and Xander went to DiMera to look for George&#8217;s laptop but Steve can&#8217;t reach them. Marlena offers to try. Brady asks Marlena to stay with Rachel while he heads to DiMera. Leo then arrives and asks if they know anything about a shooting at DiMera Enterprises. Marlena questions where he heard that. Leo reveals that the scanner app said there was two victims, shocking Brady and Marlena. Brady asks who was shot. Leo says he doesn&#8217;t know and thought they might. Leo adds that he figured they&#8217;d be brought in here. Brady starts to accuse him of sniffing around for a scoop and tells him to be respectful instead. Jada arrives and confirms the shooting at DiMera, so Brady asks her who was shot. Xander is then stretchered in with Sarah pleading with him not to die.<\/p>\n<p>EJ assures Sydney that he&#8217;s fine. Sydney asks if he&#8217;s sure because he seems stressed. EJ claims he&#8217;s just upset that he missed their dinner. Sydney asks what came up. EJ says it was just a few things he had to take care of. EJ asks if she already ate. Sydney says it was getting late and she couldn&#8217;t wait any longer, so EJ decides they will have dessert. Sydney brings up Chanel having her surgery today. EJ says he had no idea and asks how it went. Sydney tells him it was a success. EJ says that&#8217;s wonderful and he&#8217;s very happy for Johnny and the kids. Sydney knows EJ and Johnny aren&#8217;t close at the moment, but asks if he&#8217;s talked to him since he went to the police about the Coriseal. They are then interrupted by Shawn arriving which EJ calls a surprise. Sydney says long time no see as Shawn says he heard she was in town and apologizes for not reaching out but says they will catch up soon. EJ questions what brings Shawn by at this hour then. Shawn says it&#8217;s police business and asks to speak to EJ in private, but Sydney wants to know whatever&#8217;s going on. EJ tells Shawn not to leave them in suspense. Shawn responds that it&#8217;s about the assault on Steve and the death of George O&#8217;Halloran. EJ questions George being dead and what happened. Shawn reveals that he was shot and asks where EJ was and if he happened to see George at all. Sydney questions him thinking EJ had something to do with this. EJ confirms that he did see George today at his house. Shawn is glad that he admitted that because he has photos showing him there before Steve was assaulted in the park across the street. Sydney asks what happened to Steve. Shawn responds that he was zapped with a taser and he thinks EJ did it. EJ calls that absurd and claims he went to see George, they spoke briefly, and he left without ever seeing Steve. Shawn questions what he went to see George about. EJ says to speak to him about some concerns. Shawn asks him to elaborate. EJ explains that George was the head of DiMera Pharmaceuticals, so he thought he was doing something he wasn&#8217;t aware of, so he had questions and wanted answers but George denied everything. Shawn tells EJ not to insult his intelligence as he knows he has a hand in everything at DiMera Pharmaceuticals. Shawn says he will now need EJ to come with him to the police station to answer more questions.<\/p>\n<p>At the hospital, Leo asks Javi about Xander. Javi says they are working on him. Leo asks if he&#8217;s going to be okay. Javi says he hopes so but warns Leo to prepare himself. Leo talks about believing Xander was invincible and worries about Xander just getting Titan and the mansion back while having a daughter. Javi notes that Leo realy cares about Xander. Leo says they are obviously very different but Xander is one of the only friends he made in this town, so he has to be okay. Brady paces, complaining to Marlena that he should&#8217;ve been there. Marlena points out that he didn&#8217;t know where Sarah was while Brady feels as a private investigator, he should be able to anticipate and be there. Sarah comes over and cries that Xander&#8217;s heart stopped and they were able to get him back, but they are prepping him for surgery. Brady hugs Sarah as she cries. Javi says he can tell Leo wants to say something but he&#8217;s holding back, so he tells him to go ahead. Leo states that the way Javi flew in with Xander was very valiant and praises him doing his job. Leo asks about the other victim who didn&#8217;t survive. Javi reveals that it was George O&#8217;Halloran, pronounced dead at the scene. Leo is shocked that it happened while Sarah and Xander were on the scene and says that cannot be a coincidence as he wonders what the hell is going on there.<\/p>\n<p>Jada finds Sarah in a hospital waiting room to get her statement. Jada says Steve filled her in on the stakeout, but she&#8217;d like to hear what happened at DiMera. Sarah explains that she and Xander went down there to get George&#8217;s laptop as they believed he used it to manufacture proof for Destiny&#8217;s family to use against her in the wrongful death suit and frame her for Destiny&#8217;s death. Sarah says the only evidence that could exonerate her and implicate DiMera Pharmaceuticals was presumably on George&#8217;s laptop. Jada mentions that Steve told her George was packing suitcases to leave town. Sarah says they knew he wouldn&#8217;t leave without the laptop, so Steve was going to follow him, so when she heard Steve got knocked out, they had to get down there before George took the laptop and took off. Sarah says she knew there was no time, so she called Xander and he didn&#8217;t even hesitate because he was determined to clear her name. Sarah breaks down crying as Jada tells her to take her time. Sarah continues that they were looking for the laptop and Xander found it, then she had it in her hands when George showed up and demanded she give it to him but she refused, so George pulled a gun on her and when he pulled the trigger, Xander jumped in front of the bullet and was shot. Sarah cries that Xander saved her life and risked his for her. Jada asks how George ended up shot. Sarah responds that Xander knew if they couldn&#8217;t find the laptop, they&#8217;d have to wait until George to show up and Xander knew there might be a struggle, so he brought a gun. Jada asks if Xander shot George after he was shot. Sarah states that he really had no choice as George still had his gun and was going to fire again. Sarah declares that Xander shot George to protect her.<\/p>\n<p>Marlena asks Brady if he&#8217;s alright. Brady says he&#8217;s just praying that Xander pulls through for Victoria, Sarah, and their family. Marlena calls him such a good man.<\/p>\n<p>EJ tells Shawn that he&#8217;s not going anywhere with him. Sydney points out that they don&#8217;t have a warrant. Shawn responds that EJ came in willingly last time. EJ argues that all that got him was a witch hunt so he&#8217;s not doing that again. Shawn warns that it might be smarter for him to cooperate and maybe strike a deal before they find out what George was hiding on his laptop, because they are going to find it. EJ says nice try, but they won&#8217;t find a scrap of evidence against him because he had nothing to do with it. Shawn says they&#8217;ll see and bets when he comes back, it will be with handcuffs. EJ says they are done here. Shawn tells Sydney that he&#8217;s sorry she had to hear this while EJ tells him to save it because he was after his own petty revenge. Shawn tells Sydney they&#8217;ll be in touch and warns EJ not to leave town as he exits. Sydney then asks EJ if what Shawn said is true.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah comes back to Brady and Marlena, informing them that Xander made it through surgery but is still in critical condition and is fighting hard. Marlena goes to call the family. Brady encourages Sarah that she saved Xander and he will pull through. Sarah responds that Xander saved her as he jumped in front of the bullet that was meant for her. Leo overhears and tells Javi that it&#8217;s good news, joking about Xander&#8217;s abs being like a shield and says he&#8217;s relieved he made it through surgery because he can&#8217;t lose anyone else that he cares about. Leo tells Javi that he&#8217;s very grateful that he didn&#8217;t lose him as they hug. Javi thinks what really saved Xander is that he was with somebody that he loved. Marlena comes by and greets them. Leo says they heard the news about Xander and are very relieved. Marlena says she is too and then asks if they are back together. Javi and Leo happily confirm they are. Marlena declares that the news just keeps getting better.<\/p>\n<p>EJ tells Sydney that it&#8217;s not true and asks if she believes him. Sydney says of course she does. EJ tells her not to worry as everything is going to be fine, but calls a rain check on dessert as he needs to clear his head after that intrusion. Sydney decides she should probably get to bed anyway, so they say goodnight and she exits the room. EJ then shuts the door and looks back at George&#8217;s blood on his shirt sleeve, so EJ removes his shirt and tosses it in to the fireplace.<\/p>\n<p>Outside the living room, Sydney calls Marlena, who asks if she&#8217;s okay since it&#8217;s late. Sydney says she&#8217;s fine but Shawn was just at the house on police business, asking EJ about Steve being hurt and George being killed as he was apparently shot to death. Marlena confirms that she knows and asks what EJ said. Sydney tells her that EJ said he didn&#8217;t know anything. Marlena asks if she believes him. Sydney admits she doesn&#8217;t, but asks her not to tell EJ that she said that. Marlena agrees not to and asks if she wants her to come over. Sydney thanks her but says that&#8217;s not why she called. Sydney knows this might sound weird, but she was on the phone with Dante earlier and he gave her Dominic Marino&#8217;s phone number and said Marlena could have it if she wanted it. Sydney asks if she wants it. Marlena says sure, so Sydney says she will text it to her as they hang up. Marlena then receives Sydney&#8217;s message with Dominic&#8217;s contact info.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah holds Xander&#8217;s hand at his side and says that he saved her life, so now she needs him to stick around to be in it. Sarah cries that he has to help her raise their daughter and come back for Victoria and for her.
