Sarah tells her about her physical therapy and says to message her if she needs anything. Joy thanks her and says she can&#8217;t wait to get out. Sarah asks if she figured out where she&#8217;s going to stay. Joy responds that she&#8217;s all set and says that Alex invited her to stay with him.<\/p>\n<p>Jada and Shawn go home, talking about being glad they could help out Alex and Stephanie, especially now before Joy moves in. Shawn hopes Joy finds another place to rehab very soon. Jada says after their sleepless night, she could use some rehab herself, so Shawn takes her to the couch for a massage.<\/p>\n<p>Leo is in his room at the Salem Inn with boxes of fake purses when he gets a call from Javi. Leo asks if they are still good for dinner at 7 but Javi informs him that he can&#8217;t make it.<\/p>\n<p>At home, Tate asks Brady why Rachel is home. Brady explains that she said she had a stomachache and he didn&#8217;t have the energy to argue with her about it. Tate questions if he thinks she&#8217;s faking it. Brady talks about Rachel trying to get out of a math test as she said was she nervous about it and puts pressure on herself. Brady adds that he&#8217;s been meaning to talk to Marlena about it and get her advice. Tate guesses he hasn&#8217;t talked to Marlena today. Brady says he hasn&#8217;t and asks why. Tate informs him that he called Marlena to wish her a happy birthday, but she said she wasn&#8217;t celebrating, so he hopes nothing is wrong.<\/p>\n<p>EJ sits in the living room of the DiMera Mansion, staring up at the portrait of Stefano. Rita comes in and tells EJ that she&#8217;s afraid they have a problem. EJ says they certainly do. Rita tells EJ that Leo is at it again as she was just informed that he bought a huge shipment of their Gabi Chic bags and even used an alias to throw them off. EJ remains staring up at the portrait of Stefano, so Rita asks if he heard her. EJ confirms that he did, but he has more pressing matters to be concerned with. Rita guesses he means the FDA complaint and the Titan takeover. EJ responds that it&#8217;s Dominic Marino.<\/p>\n<p>Shawn massages Jada until they start kissing and begin to undress as they then move to the bedroom.<\/p>\n<p>Joy tells Sarah that Alex has been so great through all of this and she doesn&#8217;t know what she&#8217;d do without him. Joy says that living together is temporary but right now they are doing what&#8217;s best for Kelsey which Sarah says she can relate to. Joy says she knows co-parenting comes with complications but her and Alex agree that Kelsey must always come first. Sarah says Kelsey is lucky to have two parents who love her so much. Joy responds that the three of them are really lucky to have each other.<\/p>\n<p>Leo tells Javi it&#8217;s totally fine as he has to review podcast feedback anyway. Javi clarifies that he&#8217;s not canceling as a few guys called in sick for the evening shift, so he can&#8217;t do dinner but he can do lunch. Leo says that sounds good, so they agree to noon at Small Bar. Javi thanks Leo and says he&#8217;s looking forward to it as they hang up as Leo dances excitedly.<\/p>\n<p>Brady tells Tate that Marlena is going through a tough time as birthdays and holidays are really tough when you&#8217;ve lost someone. Tate says he understands that, but it was like Marlena was really shaken up and sounded like more than sadness. Tate wishes he could do something to help her. Brady thinks the best thing they can do is just let Marlena know they love her.<\/p>\n<p>EJ tells Rita that it can&#8217;t surprise her that Dominic Marino is on his mind, as she is too since there&#8217;s no doubt she knows who Dominic is and his connection to Stefano. EJ tells Rita not to insult his intelligence and tell him the damn truth as he asks her if Dominic Marino is his brother.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah gets Joy in to her wheelchair as Joy talks about wanting to be independent and put in the work. Sarah advises her not to push herself too hard, so Joy assures that she won&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>Leo decides it&#8217;s time to see what people have to say and goes to the Spectator website for comments on his podcast&#8217;s debut episode. Leo tells himself that the episode turned out great and to remember that Marlena told him not to let other peoples&#8217; opinions determine his self worth. Leo declares that no matter what the comments say, he won&#8217;t allow it to affect him and will remain entirely neutral. Leo then looks and asks if they&#8217;re kidding.<\/p>\n<p>Rita laughs off the idea of Dominic being EJ&#8217;s brother and asks where he would get such an outlandish idea. EJ asks if Marlena was there yesterday. Rita confirms she stopped by briefly and admits her behavior was aggressive and confrontational. EJ tells Rita to save it and reveals that he was in the lobby and heard everything. EJ brings up that Marlena mentioned a birth certificate and asked if the information on it was true that she and Stefano had a son and if that son was Dominic Marino. EJ yells at Rita to ask if it&#8217;s true. Rita asks him to calm down. EJ argues that she hurried Marlena out without an answer but she&#8217;s going to give him one. EJ says he&#8217;s going to ask her one more time if Dominic Marino is his brother.<\/p>\n<p>Leo excitedly reads positive feedback comments on his podcast.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah talks to Joy about getting used to her wheelchair. Sarah talks about her experience and how Xander was there to help, but she wanted her independence like Joy. Sarah tells Joy that she will call a physical trainer to work with her.<\/p>\n<p>Shawn and Jada come out of the bedroom and back to the living room. Shawn wants to stay longer but Jada says she has to get to the station to look in to what Johnny said. Shawn calls it textbook EJ to commit the crime and bury the evidence. Shawn asks if she shared Johnny&#8217;s statement with the FDA. Jada says they are coordinating with them but DiMera covered their tracks well. Shawn complains that EJ always finds a way to weasel his way out of trouble. Jada thinks this time will be different because his son turned him in.<\/p>\n<p>EJ remarks to Rita that he&#8217;s surrounded by assassins, traitors, and turncoats everywhere. EJ asks why this is the first he&#8217;s hearing about the birth certificate, where it is, and how Marlena found it when he didn&#8217;t even know it existed. EJ demands Rita speaks. Rita tells EJ that she doesn&#8217;t have an answer. EJ remarks that at least not one she&#8217;s willing to share. EJ goes over Marlena stopping by and dropping the bomb that she and Stefano may have a child together, while she comes in today complaining about Leo Stark. Rita asks why EJ didn&#8217;t reach out to her last night if he was so concerned about this. EJ questions why she didn&#8217;t reach out to him. EJ reveals he was testing her to see how long it would take for her to inform him about this utterly staggering development and she failed miserably. EJ states that the fact that he had to bring it up and she didn&#8217;t even mention it tells him everything he needs to know.<\/p>\n<p>Tate and Brady plan on sending flowers to Marlena. Tate gets a call from Sarah and says he would totally be up for that. Tate says he has some time right now so he will see her soon. Tate hangs up and informs Brady that Sarah has a potential new client for him, so he&#8217;s going to meet her at the hospital. Brady says that&#8217;s great and really nice of her. Tate agrees, noting he needs all the referrals he can get. Brady tells him to keep him posted as Tate exits. Brady sits back down until Rachel comes in to tell him that she threw up and doesn&#8217;t feel good. Brady feels that she is now burning up and lays her down on the couch as Rachel complains that her stomach hurts. Brady says he&#8217;s going to get her some help and calls for an ambulance.<\/p>\n<p>Tate goes to visit Joy in the hospital and says it&#8217;s good to see her again. Joy brings up the last time he saw her, he kind of blew up at her. Tate apologizes and says he shouldn&#8217;t have stuck his nose where it didn&#8217;t belong. Joy guesses he&#8217;s the personal trainer. Tate hopes that&#8217;s not weird. Joy says his dad used to be married to her sister but it&#8217;s fine. Tate says he&#8217;s sorry about everything that&#8217;s happened as Sarah filled him in that she has no feeling in her legs at all. Joy talks about trying out her wheelchair and asks what they will be working on. Tate says his plan would be to increase her upper body and core strength to help with daily activity. Tate tells Joy that they will have her up on her feet in no time.<\/p>\n<p>Shawn finishes a call, saying he&#8217;ll head over there now. Shawn informs Jada that he just got an anonymous tip on one of his cases. Jada responds that it seems like it will be a busy day for both of them.<\/p>\n<p>Rita informs EJ that it is her job to protect this family which she takes very seriously and has done so for decades. EJ points out that somehow Marlena&#8217;s visit slipped her mind. Rita says she knew he was under enormous pressure, more than he can handle on his own, so she was trying to help. EJ questions her withholding crucial information. Rita says she needed to look in to it first and not worry him without knowing all the facts. EJ warns her to stop lying as no one is more skilled at getting the information he needs than her, but when it becomes to Dominic Marino, she doesn&#8217;t know. EJ argues that this sudden burst of incompetence and ignorance is highly suspicious. EJ points out that Rita knows all about Stefano&#8217;s history with Marlena and how having a son with her would&#8217;ve been a major triumph for him. EJ questions why the hell Stefano would hide that from everyone and guesses Rita&#8217;s not going to answer that. EJ says he knew Rita was keeping secrets from him and that he should&#8217;ve listened to his instincts and done something about it right away, but he will now.<\/p>\n<p>Javi goes to Brady&#8217;s to check on Rachel. Brady tells Javi about Rachel throwing up, having severe stomach pain, and a fever. Rachel tells Javi that it&#8217;s been hurting a few days but it would go away and come back. Javi promises she will be alright and says to just give him a second. Javi steps aside with Brady and tells him that he thinks it&#8217;s appendicitis. Javi adds that JJ is coming with the gurney, but they need to get her to the hospital right away.<\/p>\n<p>Shawn shows up at Leo&#8217;s door and says they got a tip from an anonymous caller to report that he is trafficking counterfeit purses and asks Leo if he knows anything about that.<\/p>\n<p>Brady, Sarah, and Javi get Rachel set up in a hospital bed. Sarah confirms it&#8217;s appendicitis and that Rachel will need surgery. Brady complains that he thought she was faking it this morning and took her to school, so he feels like an idiot. Sarah and Javi encourage that what matters now is she&#8217;s here in good hands. Sarah says they will get a CT scan but either way it&#8217;s surgery. Rachel questions what they are talking about. Brady encourages that everything will be fine while Rachel cries that she&#8217;s scared. Brady tells her that Sarah will take great care of her while Rachel complains that she wants her mom.<\/p>\n<p>Joy tells Tate that she&#8217;ll have to work around her physical therapy. Tate then gets a text about Rachel having appendicitis and needing surgery, so he says he has to go. Joy says she&#8217;ll be praying for her. Tate leaves Joy his card and says they will talk soon to get something scheduled as he rushes out.<\/p>\n<p>Rita tells EJ that she has been nothing but loyal to the DiMeras, so being interrogated, doubted, and accused like this is hurtful and a huge waste of their time. Rita argues that EJ should be questioning someone else who was close to Stefano. EJ questions her still trying to pass the buck to Dr. Rolf when she knows damn well he had nothing to do with feeding Chad and Belle those clues, as it was all her. EJ declares that he trusted her so this betrayal will not stand. Rita comments on how quickly he forgets that she knows everything, including all of his deepest, darkest secrets like what he tried to do to Kristen and what he did to Holly. Rita says they can go back further to Arnold Feniger. EJ asks if she&#8217;s threatening him. Rita calls it a friendly reminder that she knows where all the bodies are buried. EJ argues that makes her complicit in all of it. Rita remarks that no one is gunning for her. EJ starts to warn her that they will be, but Jada walks in and questions what is going on here.<\/p>\n<p>Leo asks Shawn how stupid he thinks he is and says he would never sell fake purses out of his hotel room, but he is confirming the boxes contain counterfeit purses. Leo calls it a long story and says he&#8217;d love to tell him about it but he&#8217;s late for an important date. Shawn advises Leo not to say another word until his attorney is present because he&#8217;s going to need a lawyer. Leo calls it a big misunderstanding and explains that he bought the purses to help Gabi find out who is stealing her designs. Shawn points out that he&#8217;s in possession of counterfeit goods and that&#8217;s a crime. Shawn then arrests Leo, while Leo complains that he&#8217;s making a big mistake. Shawn reads Leo his rights and escorts him out of the room in handcuffs.<\/p>\n<p>Javi sits at Small Bar, waiting for Leo. Javi texts Leo that he&#8217;s at the bar and asks if he will see him soon.<\/p>\n<p>Shawn walks Leo through the town square in handcuffs.<\/p>\n<p>Javi looks around the bar.<\/p>\n<p>Brady and Tate encourage Rachel at her side. Sarah comes back in and announces Rachel&#8217;s appendix has ruptured so they are going to prepare for surgery. Rachel panics that she doesn&#8217;t want surgery and wants to go home. Sarah insists it will make her feel better and when she wakes up, the pain will be gone. Brady and Tate say they will be right there while Rachel screams that she wants her mom.<\/p>\n<p>Joy sits in her hospital bed, putting on makeup as she talks to Alex on the phone. Joy thanks Alex again for letting her stay with him and says she will be the perfect houseguest. Joy asks if he&#8217;s sure about picking her up when she could take a taxi. Joy tells Alex that she will see him soon and she can&#8217;t wait to see Kelsey as they hang up. Joy then declares they are back in business, except for her toes needing a pedicure.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah promises Brady and Tate that Rachel&#8217;s surgeon is excellent and she&#8217;ll be back to herself in no time. Brady worries about Rachel screaming that she wants her mom. Brady hates to admit it but Kristen has a right to know what&#8217;s going on, though they don&#8217;t know where she is. Brady notes that Kristen did give him a way to contact her if there was an emergency and he&#8217;s pretty sure this counts as an emergency.<\/p>\n<p>EJ tells Jada that this is a private matter on private property and questions how she got in. Jada argues that she&#8217;s the police commissioner and his butler has respect for the authorities. Jada asks if Rita is okay. Rita says she&#8217;s fine but must get going as she hurries out. EJ question why Jada is here.
