Belle talks about Marlena not telling her why she&#8217;s upset, but she thinks it has to do with the Dominic Marino mystery in Italy. Belle says she can tell Marlena needs her, but she won&#8217;t talk to her, so it&#8217;s kind of breaking her heart.<\/p>\n<p>Stephanie runs in to Jada in the hallway. Jada tells Stephanie that she can&#8217;t let her come in to the apartment because she and Shawn are happily trying to put a fussy baby down. Alex then comes out from his and Stephanie&#8217;s apartment with roses and asks how date night with her husband sounds. Stephanie says that sounds wonderful as they hug.<\/p>\n<p>Joy is in a wheelchair in her hospital room, looking over her bottle of muscle relaxers. Kate arrives with flowers, so Joy hides the bottle in her bed and tells Kate that she didn&#8217;t have to do that. Kate notes that she looks pale and asks if she should call someone but Joy says she&#8217;s just tired from a rough physical therapy session and dragging the wheelchair around is exhausting. Joy guesses she should get used to it since she just found out she&#8217;s being discharged tomorrow morning. Kate calls that good news.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny is in the interrogation room at the police station. Chanel arrives and says she came as soon as she heard. Chanel asks if he&#8217;s okay. Johnny responds that he&#8217;s so sorry.<\/p>\n<p>Alex informs Stephanie that Jada and Shawn kindly offered to watch Kelsey so that she could stay with him. Stephanie asks if they are sure. Jada says she and Shawn were talking and suggested making it a weekly thing. Stephanie hugs Jada and thanks her, calling her the greatest friend ever. Jada heads in to her place as Stephanie tells Alex that she loves him. Alex asks where she wants to go on their date. Stephanie responds that home is where she wants to be. Alex admits he was hoping she&#8217;d say that as they kiss.<\/p>\n<p>Joy tells Kate that getting discharged would be great if she had somewhere to go. Joy mentions the social worker helped her look in to rehab facilities but none of them will let Kelsey stay with her. Kate says that won&#8217;t work. Joy says she misses Kelsey more than she can say and she can&#8217;t bear the thought of being separated from her any longer. Kate agrees that nothing is worse than being separated from your child, but notes that Joy has to take care of herself as well. Kate says if Joy is going to decide against the rehab center, she needs a plan B.<\/p>\n<p>Belle tells Chad that Steve thinks Rita is the one giving them the clues. Belle thinks if it is Rita, she must want them to get to the truth. Chad hopes they can get to Dominic Marino soon and get some answers. Belle hopes those answers will help bring Marlena some peace.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny tells Chanel that he&#8217;s so sorry and he planned to call her sooner, but hoped it would be after all of this had been sorted out. Johnny says he just didn&#8217;t want her to worry, but then he saw her texts, calls, and voicemails and realized she&#8217;s already worried. Chanel tells Johnny that she loves him and is always there for him as they hug.<\/p>\n<p>Jada and Shawn bring Kelsey to the town square. Jada mentions how this was supposed to put Kelsey to sleep while Shawn points out that at least she stopped crying, so they will celebrate the little victories.<\/p>\n<p>Joy tells Kate that her plan B would be outpatient therapy as her insurance will cover having in home aids if she can find somewhere to stay which Kate says sounds perfect. Joy guesses she&#8217;s just stressed about having to find a place so soon and says she&#8217;s still getting used to navigating the wheelchair which isn&#8217;t as easy as it looks. Kate comments on seeing Alex with Kelsey and how he&#8217;s really stepped up, so she&#8217;s sure he will continue to do so after she is discharged. Kate adds that she can help out if she ever needs a babysitter. Joy thanks her and says that helps a lot. Kate wishes she could help more with her living arrangements. Joy says there is one option she&#8217;s been considering but it does involve asking someone for a pretty big favor. Kate points out that if you never ask the question, the answer will always be no.<\/p>\n<p>Stephanie talks about missing the apartment as she and Alex kiss and drink wine. Alex asks if she&#8217;s hungry for dinner. Stephanie says she first thinks they should talk about anything and everything because she&#8217;s missed their heart to hearts. Alex agrees as they kiss.<\/p>\n<p>Jada gets a call from the police station and says they had her at evidence against EJ DiMera, so she&#8217;ll be right there. Jada tells Shawn that she&#8217;s sorry but she has to go. Shawn says he and Kelsey will be fine and tells Jada to go nail EJ to the wall. Jada then reveals to Shawn that his cousin Johnny is the one who has evidence against EJ and he&#8217;s at the station now, ready to give his statement. Shawn tells Jada to keep him updated as she exits.<\/p>\n<p>Chanel brings up that this morning, Johnny told her that he never should&#8217;ve gotten involved with what EJ had done. Chanel asks how involved they are talking. Johnny responds that he hasn&#8217;t committed any crimes, but he did help EJ cover up after the fact. Chanel asks if there will be legal consequences for that. Johnny admits he&#8217;s hoping for leniency or maybe even immunity for coming forward as his lawyer seems to think there&#8217;s a strong possibility of that. Johnny tells Chanel that regardless of what happens, he has to do the right thing and hopes she can understand that.<\/p>\n<p>Belle gets a call from Jada and says she&#8217;ll be right there. Belle then tells Chad she&#8217;s sorry but she has to go. Chad questions what happens so Belle informs him that Jada said Johnny is at the police station, saying he&#8217;s there to report a crime that EJ committed which shocks Chad. Belle says she&#8217;ll call him when she knows more as she kisses him and exits.<\/p>\n<p>Alex excitedly tells Stephanie about Titan being saved. Stephanie calls it amazing. Alex says he still can&#8217;t believe Philip&#8217;s luck. Alex talks about Paulina scouting people to take care of Salem&#8217;s rat problem and he was thinking about applying a few days ago. Stephanie jokes that EJ should apply since he&#8217;s losing the hospital. Stephanie talks about doing PR for the hospital being impossible under EJ. Stephanie tells Alex about Sarah being sued for wrongful death and says that EJ doesn&#8217;t want her anywhere near it. Alex calls EJ a coward and says it feels like so much has happened in their lives since they actually had some alone time together. Stephanie says she&#8217;s not taking this for granted since they don&#8217;t know when it will happen again. Stephanie tells Alex that she&#8217;s missed him and that being with him today is great, but asks what about tomorrow and the next days. Stephanie questions how they are going to make it through this year.<\/p>\n<p>Chad runs in to Shawn with Kelsey in the town square. Shawn explains that he and Jada were watching Kelsey so that Alex and Stephanie could have some alone time and that Jada got called to the station, so he&#8217;s taking Kelsey for a walk. Chad mentions Belle having to go to the station as well, so he assumes they are there for the same reason which Shawn confirms. Chad adds that he&#8217;s sorry to hear about his Grandfather&#8217;s place. Shawn says he was sad to see it go, but on the bright side, Philip and Xander saved the company so Victor&#8217;s legacy lives on. Chad says he&#8217;s glad to hear it. Shawn jokes about not letting EJ hear him say that. Chad says that EJ knows how he feels about his revenge tactics and he&#8217;s sorry for what EJ put Shawn and his family through.<\/p>\n<p>Belle goes to the police station where Jada informs her that Johnny is in the interrogation room and asks if she&#8217;s ready to do this. Belle says not really and that she just doesn&#8217;t know what would&#8217;ve pushed Johnny to report his father for a crime, wondering if it&#8217;s guilt. Jada asks if she thinks Johnny could&#8217;ve been involved. Belle responds that she just knows EJ has a way of pulling everyone close to him in to his web of crime and declares that she cannot prosecute her nephew again.<\/p>\n<p>Chanel tells Johnny that she knows he&#8217;s a good man and that he came to do what he thinks is right, so she won&#8217;t stand in his way. Belle and Jada then enter the room to take Johnny&#8217;s statement and ask Chanel to wait in the hall. Chanel tells Johnny that she loves him and is so proud of him as they hug and Chanel then exits the room.<\/p>\n<p>Kate joins Maggie at the Brady Pub and says she&#8217;s been meaning to call her and congratulate her on the good news that Titan was saved. Maggie admits it was all thanks to Philip. Kate mentions Philip promising to go to meetings and that he won&#8217;t let his addiction get a hold of him again. Maggie assures she intends to keep a close eye on him. Kate thanks her and says she will do the same. Kate admits she wishes Philip won the money just a little sooner. Maggie says that Philip is heartbroken that he didn&#8217;t save the house. Maggie adds that they&#8217;re all together and that&#8217;s what matters. Kate understands it wasn&#8217;t just a house, it was Maggie&#8217;s home with Victor.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny&#8217;s lawyer informs Belle and Jada that he is seeking an immunity agreement. Belle says they can&#8217;t agree to that without hearing what Johnny has to say. His lawyer argues that she can&#8217;t have him exposing himself to prosecution, but Johnny calls it his choice. Johnny decides he doesn&#8217;t need a guarantee of immunity because he knows this is the right thing to do regardless. His lawyer says if that&#8217;s his position, she can&#8217;t represent him. Johnny decides he&#8217;s got it from here and tells her she&#8217;s dismissed, so she wishes him luck and exits. Belle asks Johnny to tell them what he thinks EJ and George did. Johnny responds that it&#8217;s not what he thinks, but what he knows, as it&#8217;s something EJ told him about himself. Jada questions when EJ told him that he committed a crime. Johnny guesses it was a few months ago, right before Trey&#8217;s birthday.<\/p>\n<p>Alex agrees with Stephanie that they do need to come up with a plan for getting through the rest of the year since there are so many moving parts, they don&#8217;t know when Joy will be well enough to take care of Kelsey by herself and they can&#8217;t have Kelsey there 100% of the time. Stephanie notes that would be zero time for them which Alex says is completely out of the question. Alex points out Jada and Shawn offering to watch Kelsey once a week. Stephanie calls that extremely generous of them but says they can&#8217;t rely on them fully. Stephanie decides she will ask her parents to do something similar while Alex says he will ask Justin and Bonnie to help out more as they&#8217;d be thrilled to watch Kelsey. Stephanie guesses this is what they mean by &#8220;it takes a village.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Joy sits in her wheelchair, looking at a photo of Kelsey on her phone and repeats what Kate said to her that the answer is always no if you don&#8217;t ask. Joy says her focus is on getting out of the wheelchair and walking, but not yet, so her only Kelsey time is going to look different for awhile but insists she&#8217;s doing this all for her.<\/p>\n<p>Stephanie tells Alex that it feels so good to be in what used to be their home. Alex insists that it still is her home and if they do what they say by leaning on their friends and family, he&#8217;s sure she will be spending a lot more nights there. Alex reminds Stephanie that it&#8217;s only for a year and says they just need to play nice with Joy and not give her any reason to keep her away from Kelsey any longer. Alex then gets a call from Joy, who says she has a really big favor to ask.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny informs Belle and Jada that EJ said he went to Smith Island himself, to purposely oversee the digging up of the pills to make sure they didn&#8217;t spill in to any more wells. Jada guesses it was also to dispose of any evidence while Belle guesses Johnny didn&#8217;t participate in any covering up or tampering which he confirms. Johnny says that was all before he knew about the contamination but admits he did sneak in to Sarah&#8217;s office to leave the clue about arsenic and asks if that&#8217;s a crime.<\/p>\n<p>Alex asks Joy what she needs. Joy reminds him how her insurance wouldn&#8217;t cover her hospital stay much longer and reveals that she&#8217;s being discharged tomorrow morning. Joy says she didn&#8217;t expect it to be so soon and she doesn&#8217;t have a place lined up that works. Alex asks if she checked for a room at the Salem Inn. Joy reminds him how miserable and fussy Kelsey was being there and says it will be hard enough being in a wheelchair. Alex says they can find her a room with less noise but Joy suggests staying with Alex. Joy says she knows he has a guest room and that she isn&#8217;t asking him to take care of her as her insurance will cover in-home health aids. Joy says she knows it&#8217;s a big ask but she wants to do what&#8217;s best for Kelsey and she&#8217;s comfortable there. Alex reluctantly looks to Stephanie, who is shocked but ultimately gives her nod of approval. Alex then tells Joy that she can stay with him. Joy is surprised and thanks him.<\/p>\n<p>Maggie tells Kate that she just got the final paperwork for the sale of the house.<\/p>\n<p>Shawn and Chad talk basketball. Shawn calls Chad a really great guy and says he&#8217;s glad that he and Belle found each other. Chad thanks him and says that means a lot coming from him. Chad says he knows Shawn and Belle will always have a connection because of Claire and that she cares about him a lot. Shawn says he cares about her too. Chad asks how things are going with Jada. Shawn says things are going well. Chad says he&#8217;s glad and that he&#8217;s glad they are cool too. Shawn agrees as they fist bump.<\/p>\n<p>Belle tells Johnny that they don&#8217;t have enough evidence to convict anyone of a crime since EJ and George were very thorough in getting rid of any evidence and they all know how EJ is going to respond. Johnny says he&#8217;s willing to testify no matter what. Belle asks if he&#8217;s ready for what EJ might do when he feels cornered. Belle warns that EJ is going to come after him and fight hard. Johnny knows EJ will do everything he can to make him look like a liar and mentally unstable, but he doesn&#8217;t care. Johnny declares that he has to expose what EJ has been up to for the sake of all the people he might hurt in the future, because he knows what EJ is capable of better than anyone. Johnny then leaves the room where Chanel asks if he&#8217;s in trouble. Johnny says not yet, but he hopes EJ is as he told them everything he knows. Chanel says now they are going home so he can tell her.<\/p>\n<p>Kate was under the impression that the deal was done. Maggie responds that it is, but prior to the closing, she has to fill out a declaration form on any issues to the seller. Maggie says aside from the occasional mouse or two, it hasn&#8217;t had any problems. Kate then asks if they are sure about that.<\/p>\n<p>Belle and Jada walk through the town square. Belle tells Jada that she was right that if they can prove what Johnny said is true, it can be their chance to finally nail EJ. They come across Chad and Shawn with Kelsey. Belle mentions hearing they were babysitting. Shawn says they get to keep her overnight. Shawn asks how Johnny is doing. Belle says he&#8217;s fine and probably home by now. Chad hopes Shawn and Jada have fun babysitting as he and Belle walk away. Jada comments that they look happy together which Shawn agrees with. They decide to get Kelsey home. Shawn hopes she&#8217;ll get to sleep early and they&#8217;ll have the rest of the night to themselves as they walk out of the town square.<\/p>\n<p>Alex tells Joy that if she&#8217;s going to be staying with him, it will be very temporary. Alex says Kelsey has been with him all this time so that Stephanie hasn&#8217;t even be able to come home. Joy says she&#8217;s aware. Alex says after Joy is discharged, they will come up with a plan for Kelsey to spend more time with her. Alex says they&#8217;ll need that time just like he and Stephanie will need time to reconnect. Joy says she understands and thanks Alex again. Alex says they&#8217;ll talk soon and hangs up. Alex then asks Stephanie if she&#8217;s sure she&#8217;s okay with this. Stephanie says of course not, but they are playing nice. Alex assures that he will find another place for Joy to stay ASAP. Stephanie says she will hold him to that because she&#8217;s missed coming home to him, talking, and their bed as she loves him.
