Kayla is glad she&#8217;s following through with that and asks if she&#8217;s feeling better today. Stephanie says a little bit, but notes that she&#8217;s not the victim here as someone almost got killed because of her stupid decision. Kayla won&#8217;t argue that keeping the gun unlocked wasn&#8217;t a recipe for disaster but calls it a miracle that no one got hurt. Stephanie says she&#8217;s hoping for another miracle in that it stays out of the headlines so she doesn&#8217;t have to spin her own PR when the hospital has enough problems as it is.<\/p>\n<p>Alex goes to the Brady Pub and asks Kate if she&#8217;s seen Joy. Kate tells him that she just left to take Kelsey to the park. Alex says he just wanted to see how she&#8217;s doing. Kate mentions that Joy told her what happened and calls it quite the story as she wonders if the media will pick up on it. Alex says he hopes not. Kate says worse things could happen, pointing out that there&#8217;s no such thing as bad publicity and maybe it&#8217;s what Stephanie needs for her writing career. Alex questions her saying that. Kate responds that Titan needs every win it can get right now.<\/p>\n<p>Roman runs in to Marlena outside the Pub. Roman informs her that he&#8217;s waiting on a delivery and doesn&#8217;t want to wait inside. Marlena guesses that&#8217;s because Kate&#8217;s inside and Roman knows what she did.<\/p>\n<p>Aaron and Arianna arrive at the Horton Cabin on Smith Island. Aaron praises the place while Ari talks about how she misses it and wants to get as much use out of it as she can this summer. Aaron asks where the TV is, but Ari reveals there isn&#8217;t one.<\/p>\n<p>Tate and Brady talk in the town square about Tate packing for the trip. Tate mentions taking the cooler as he and Aaron plan to go fishing. Tate tries to lead Brady to believe that he and Aaron are just taking a guys trip, but Brady tells Tate that when he gets there, he can tell Holly he said hello.<\/p>\n<p>At the hospital, Sarah talks to Holly about Maggie making a trip to see her daughter Melissa after her surgery. Holly starts talking about missing her mom, so Sarah hugs her. Sarah asks how her appointment went with Dr. Fuller. Holly says it went really well and they mostly talked about what happened with Sophia. Holly adds that she was prescribed antidepressants that she will take even though she has PTSD from Sophia&#8217;s meds. Sarah reminds her that these were actually prescribed to her and to follow the instructions. Sarah tells her to contact Dr. Fuller immediately if she has any side effects. Holly thanks Sarah for helping her through all of this as they hug. Sarah is glad she&#8217;s feeling better which Holly credits her for. Holly mentions she should get going to catch the ferry to Smith Island and thanks Sarah again for the key. Sarah acknowledges that Holly and Arianna can use the get away. Holly remarks that at least she won&#8217;t run in to Amy Choi out there. Sarah has Holly promise there will be no drinking. Holly assures that she doesn&#8217;t want to mess with how she&#8217;s feeling. Sarah tells her and Ari to have fun. Holly thanks her again for everything and exits.<\/p>\n<p>Tate questions how Brady knew about Holly. Brady jokes that he&#8217;s a private investigator but then explains that Sarah told him that Holly and Arianna were planning a girls trip, so when he found out that Tate and Aaron were going, he put two and two together. Brady understands why Holly wouldn&#8217;t want Sarah to know, so he agrees not to rat them out. Tate thanks him. Brady admits that Tate and Holly are adults, but he understands what happens when parents aren&#8217;t around. Brady asks him to just stop short of anything that will kill him or put him in jail. Tate agrees to that for the rest of his life. Brady says he loves him as they hug. Brady tells Tate to have fun. Tate says he&#8217;ll send him some pictures as he walks away.<\/p>\n<p>Aaron says if there&#8217;s no TV, he&#8217;ll just watch things on his phone but Arianna warns him about the cell service on Smith Island. Aaron mocks the idea of having no wi-fi like it&#8217;s 1998 and jokes about having broadband withdrawal. Arianna encourages what they do have and then pulls out a bottle of alcohol, saying they can always party.<\/p>\n<p>Kayla tells Stephanie that she&#8217;s right and brings up the board trying to have EJ removed from running the hospital which makes her happy. Stephanie asks who would run the place if they do pull the plug on EJ. Kayla informs her that it could be her cousin Gwen as she is ready to make an offer. Stephanie guesses she shouldn&#8217;t be that surprised and asks if Kayla thinks Gwen would be an improvement. Kayla responds that she thinks anyone would be an improvement over EJ.<\/p>\n<p>Roman informs Marlena that he doesn&#8217;t know where he and Kate go from here. Roman adds that they slept in separate rooms last night and comments on not being able to trust his own wife. Marlena says she can&#8217;t throw stones, but she really hopes they work things out. Roman thanks her for always being there. They tell each other to take care as Marlena walks away.<\/p>\n<p>Alex tells Kate that talk around the office is that she and Xander finally agreed to drop the lawsuit against DiMera. Kate admits it wasn&#8217;t by choice. Alex admits he&#8217;s surprised as he thought she was going after DiMera with both barrels and asks what changed. Kate responds that the truth is Johnny was right that she and Xander set him up to publish Bonnie&#8217;s manuscript. Kate explains that she nudged it in Johnny&#8217;s direction because he was inexperienced and he took the bait while now Roman is furious with her. Kate tells Alex that she wanted to help Titan but now the company is in an even worse place, but that&#8217;s actually the least of her problems.<\/p>\n<p>Kayla finds Sarah at the hospital. Sarah didn&#8217;t realize she was back from China. Kayla talks about being so jet lagged still, but it was worth it because Wendy and Tripp&#8217;s wedding was great and they had a wonderful time. Kayla says she&#8217;s now back at work and understands Sarah lost a patient under upsetting circumstances. Sarah says she keeps going over it in her head trying to figure out if she could&#8217;ve done something differently. Sarah says that Destiny died right in front of her and she still has no idea why. Kayla says she&#8217;s read that no one knows why and that Sarah did everything right. Sarah asks why it feels so wrong then. Kayla hopes she gets some answers. Sarah assures that she intends to and welcomes Kayla back as she walks away. Brady runs in to Stephanie as he&#8217;s looking for Sarah. Stephanie says she&#8217;s sure she&#8217;s around somewhere as Brady says he&#8217;s going to look for her. Stephanie stops Brady to inform him that they can no longer be shooting buddies because she has given up her gun. Brady says he&#8217;s sorry to hear that as he will miss her company. Stephanie assures that it&#8217;s for the best. Stephanie adds that she talked to Tate about taking his self defense classes when he gets back from his trip. Brady says that&#8217;s great and mentions Tate giving him a few lessons and that he knows what he&#8217;s doing. Brady decides if they can&#8217;t be shooting buddies, they&#8217;ll be self defense buddies as Stephanie walks away.<\/p>\n<p>Alex tells Kate that she definitely owes Johnny and Bonnie a major apology. Kate responds that she plans to talk to Bonnie while Xander has been trying to talk to Johnny but hasn&#8217;t connected with him yet. Alex hopes he does soon. Kate hopes that dropping the lawsuit will put an end to the entire matter. Alex says he wouldn&#8217;t count on that because DiMera doesn&#8217;t give a damn. Alex calls this a dumpster fire but admits it&#8217;s the least of his problems right now too.<\/p>\n<p>Stephanie goes to see Marlena for therapy. Marlena asks how she&#8217;s feeling. Stephanie responds that she&#8217;s feeling awful.<\/p>\n<p>Brady and Sarah go to the Brady Pub. Brady asks if Sarah got Destiny&#8217;s blood work back. Sarah responds that it came back mostly normal, but showed a low level of the same drug that was in her sister&#8217;s blood work. Sarah says the low level wasn&#8217;t enough to be toxic and the initial autopsy showed nothing out of the ordinary. Brady wonders what killed her then. Sarah responds that she doesn&#8217;t know but she suspects it was the same thing that killed her sister.<\/p>\n<p>Arianna and Aaron hang out in the cabin until Tate and Holly arrive. Ari says they are just in time for happy hour. Tate feels it&#8217;s a little early but Aaron encourages him to live a little. Ari offers Holly as well but Holly says she&#8217;s taking new meds and it would be a bad combination. Tate adds that they brought hot dogs and brats for the campfire while Aaron notes that they brought smores. Tate and Holly start kissing while Arianna tells Aaron that she&#8217;s so glad he&#8217;s there so that she&#8217;s not a third wheel and she has someone else to hang out with.<\/p>\n<p>After telling Marlena what happened, Stephanie assures that she&#8217;s gotten rid of the gun for good because she obviously can&#8217;t be trusted with a firearm. Stephanie feels she can&#8217;t be a functioning member of society without having a meltdown every two seconds. Marlena encourages that she&#8217;s coming to her job and therapy and is doing everything she can to feel safe. Stephanie thought she was doing all of that, but now she&#8217;s questioning her own judgment being off in so many ways. Stephanie brings up always being attracted to men who are bad for her like Jeremy, Ford Decker, and Everett who turned out to be a complete nightmare for her and Jada. Stephanie wants to know why she keeps making these terrible choices.<\/p>\n<p>Alex goes to the hospital and tells Kayla that he&#8217;s stuck in a dilemma that he&#8217;s not ready to talk to Stephanie about yet, so he was hoping she could advise him about it. Kayla agrees to do her best. Alex explains that he convinced Joy not to file charges against Stephanie but there&#8217;s more to it as Joy told him that she doesn&#8217;t feel comfortable with the baby being around Stephanie and won&#8217;t allow it, so he had to agree to her terms if he wanted to be apart of his daughter&#8217;s life.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah tells Brady that Destiny&#8217;s main symptom was a bad headache, so she found pain meds around her house that weren&#8217;t prescribed to her or her sister. Brady questions if they just got a bad batch of a bad drug. Sarah calls it possible, but points out that if so then Destiny and her sister wouldn&#8217;t have been the only ones who got sick which is why she&#8217;s reaching out to medical examiners in the area to see if they&#8217;ve had similar cases. Sarah worries that if tainted drugs are still out there, there could be more victims.<\/p>\n<p>Holly tells Tate that it&#8217;s great to be back out at the cabin. Tate is surprised since she didn&#8217;t want to come to the lake before. Holly says it was too soon after what happened to Sophia but time has passed and she&#8217;s loving it. Tate promises they&#8217;ll have the best time as they kiss until Ari and Aaron come back in to suggest going to the lake which they agree to.<\/p>\n<p>Marlena tells Stephanie that when a child experiences abandonment, they can develop early detachment wounds and that impacts how they experience the world in the future. Stephanie wonders if being kidnapped as a baby and her father not being around is still affecting her and admits she hasn&#8217;t thought of it that way. Marlena wants to see Stephanie change thinking that she&#8217;s not enough because it&#8217;s not true. Marlena states that the fact is that Stephanie was hurt and traumatized, but that doesn&#8217;t change that she is amazing, brave, and loved. Marlena encourages that she will make it through this.<\/p>\n<p>Kayla tells Alex that they both know Stephanie would never hurt the baby, but given what&#8217;s happened, she would probably be just as protective as Joy. Alex guesses it&#8217;s not totally out of line. Kayla thinks he has to tell Stephanie. Alex admits he just doesn&#8217;t know how. Alex says maybe she&#8217;ll be secretly relieved since she wasn&#8217;t thrilled to be part of Kelsey&#8217;s life to begin with. Kayla knows she was struggling with it. Kayla says she&#8217;s just sorry that he&#8217;s in this difficult position. Alex doesn&#8217;t see any easy answers to any of this.<\/p>\n<p>Brady asks Sarah if she&#8217;s gotten ahold of Destiny&#8217;s parents. Sarah confirms that she did, but they are completely in the dark, so she&#8217;s hoping her sister Clea&#8217;s boyfriend Liam can tell them where she got the drugs or anything to explain why she died. Sarah asks if she had any luck finding him. Brady reveals that it took about 5 minutes as Liam and his son moved in with Liam&#8217;s older brother Charlie in Brookville. Sarah notes that&#8217;s not far and asks if he found out anything else. Brady reveals that Liam recently purchased a new car and opened up a new bank account, so he&#8217;s thinking Liam came in to some money before leaving Salem and he doesn&#8217;t think he made it by working at Julie&#8217;s book store. Sarah wonders if Liam leaving had something to do with Destiny&#8217;s death. Brady responds that he thinks it&#8217;s suspicious as hell.<\/p>\n<p>Kayla tells Alex that she wishes she had some tips on how to handle this. Stephanie then comes out from therapy and greets Alex, calling it a nice surprise. Alex asks how therapy with Marlena went. Stephanie says it was good and really helpful which they are glad to hear. Stephanie asks what Alex is doing at the hospital. Alex says he just hoped to walk her home. Kayla wishes them luck as they exit.<\/p>\n<p>Holly, Tate, Aaron, and Arianna return to the cabin after swimming in the lake. Tate suggests playing Truth or Dare. Aaron and Ari go to get drinks while Tate comments on Holly having fun out there. Holly admits she hasn&#8217;t felt this good in a long time as they kiss.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah tells Brady that she wants to see Liam and talk to him. Brady thinks she should let him handle this since Liam could be dangerous. Sarah brings up that she treated Liam&#8217;s son, so there&#8217;s a level of trust and she thinks he&#8217;s more likely to talk to her. Sarah assures that she&#8217;s got it. Brady says okay but that he&#8217;s going with her. Sarah jokes about him being protective.<\/p>\n<p>Marlena runs in to Kayla at the hospital. Kayla tells her that Stephanie seemed much better after her session and that she and Steve are so grateful for her help. Kate then arrives and tells Marlena that they have a few things to talk about, so they head to Marlena&#8217;s office.<\/p>\n<p>Alex and Stephanie walk through the town square as Stephanie explains that Marlena helped her better understand her feeling of shame and the root causes. Stephanie mentions being surprised that Joy has been so understanding that she feels she owes her another apology and thank you. Alex then stops her and reveals that Joy isn&#8217;t being that understand. Stephanie asks what he means. Alex informs her that Joy told him that she isn&#8217;t going to allow Kelsey back at their apartment because she thinks it would be a good idea to put space between Stephanie and Kelsey. Stephanie asks what he&#8217;s saying. Alex announces that he had to agree that Stephanie wouldn&#8217;t be around Kelsey for right now. Alex promises it will be okay and that they will find a way to make this work as it&#8217;s just for right now. Alex assures that Joy will change her mind at some point. Stephanie says she&#8217;s so sorry. Alex repeats that it will be okay as he hugs her.<\/p>\n<p>Tate and Holly continue kissing so Aaron decides he and Arianna are going to take the kayak out and exit the cabin. Tate points out they might be gone awhile while Holly acknowledges that they have the place all to themselves.<\/p>\n<p>Marlena tells Kate that Roman told her she finally told him the truth. Kate asks if Marlena encouraged him to cry on her shoulder. Marlena says they were talking about what Kate did to their grandson. Kate complains about Marlena sticking her nose where it didn&#8217;t belong. Marlena responds that when it comes to her family, she&#8217;ll stick her nose anywhere she cares to. Kate can&#8217;t argue with that and admits that she screwed up and didn&#8217;t mean for this to happen. Marlena responds that as much as she hates Kate right now, she actually believes her. Marlena declares that for the record, she was telling Roman that she hopes they survive this. Kate says she hopes so too, but that remains to be seen.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah wishes she could&#8217;ve gotten her hands on the pills that Destiny took. Brady wonders if it could&#8217;ve been tainted by a low level dealer. Sarah says it&#8217;s possible or maybe they were contaminated in the manufacturing process. Brady decides he will look up every pharmaceutical company that makes it which Sarah calls a good idea.
