I&#8217;m just gonna go shower.\u00a0 Then I&#8217;m all yours.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>I had such a good talk with Willow today.\u00a0 That&#8217;s really great, Nina.\u00a0 But Violet is spending the night at my house tonight, so could we &#8212;\u00a0 And you should have seen Wiley\u00a0 in his cute, little swim trunks, Maxie!\u00a0 Although, I guess he&#8217;s not so little anymore.\u00a0 But these children are growing up so fast.\u00a0 Yeah, yeah. Time flies, as it is doing right now, so just &#8212;\u00a0 And Drew was actually tolerable.\u00a0 I mean, he&#8217;s still a horrible, selfish person.\u00a0 &#8220;Selfish.&#8221; Interesting.\u00a0 But, you know, it&#8217;s been a long time\u00a0 since I&#8217;ve had this much contact with Willow.\u00a0 And I have to admit it&#8217;s because of Drew,\u00a0 so if this is the price that I have to pay\u00a0 for dancing with the devil&#8230;\u00a0 I&#8217;m more than willing to pay up.\u00a0 Wow. Just like that, you&#8217;re running for Congress?\u00a0 Man, not &#8220;just like that.&#8221;\u00a0 And I know you&#8217;re gonna keep this confidential,\u00a0 but Larry McConkey is retiring.\u00a0 Wow. I&#8217;m sorry to hear that.\u00a0 For the most part, I like his policies,\u00a0 but more importantly, I like his integrity.\u00a0 So do I, which is why when Nina said\u00a0 she was gonna go interview him,\u00a0 I decided to kind of stop by, pop in there, introduce myself.\u00a0 And then I pitched the Esplanade project.\u00a0 Named in his honor. Nice touch, Drew.\u00a0 I wasn&#8217;t &#8212; I wasn&#8217;t trying to butter him up.\u00a0 I really wasn&#8217;t. The man is impervious to flattery.\u00a0 But he does care about his legacy,\u00a0 both in the House and in his district.\u00a0 He wants a functioning government.\u00a0 And that&#8217;s where you come in.\u00a0 McConkey said that he would endorse me\u00a0 if I ran for his seat.\u00a0 Have you accepted? I&#8217;m close.\u00a0 I mean, I&#8217;ve been talking to people,\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been asking opinions, and now I&#8217;m asking yours.\u00a0 Because if I do this, it&#8217;s going to affect Aurora and <i>you.<\/i>\u00a0 So Nina was at the pool <i>?<\/i> Was she swimming or&#8230;?\u00a0 No, she was looking for Drew,\u00a0 and I&#8217;m not sure she would have even said hello <i>,<\/i>\u00a0 but Wiley spotted her.\u00a0 And as you can guess <i>&#8230;<\/i> There&#8217;s no stopping him.\u00a0 He was so excited to see his grandmother,\u00a0 ran right over to her. How&#8217;d that go?\u00a0 Oh, Nina was really sweet with him.\u00a0 That&#8217;s never been her problem.\u00a0 No, I guess &#8212; I guess not.\u00a0 Anyway, the last few times we&#8217;ve seen each other recently,\u00a0 Nina and I have gotten along okay.\u00a0 I thought it&#8217;d be rude to send her away.\u00a0 Especially with Wiley right there.\u00a0 I get that.\u00a0 But I just wanted to be upfront with you.\u00a0 Full disclosure. Right?\u00a0 Yeah.\u00a0 I do, um &#8212; I do have to say&#8230;\u00a0 I gotta be honest. I don&#8217;t &#8212; I don&#8217;t trust Nina.\u00a0 And so do I love the idea of her being around our kids?\u00a0 No, I don&#8217;t.\u00a0 But you&#8217;re the one who gets to decide\u00a0 how much contact you want with your mother.\u00a0 So whatever you decide, I&#8217;ll support.\u00a0 Thank you.\u00a0 It means a lot that you said that.\u00a0 Again, I do have to ask, though.\u00a0 Um, it seems like a shift.\u00a0 Suddenly you feel safe around Nina?\u00a0 What changed?\u00a0 Finn has been drinking.\u00a0 Define &#8220;drinking.&#8221;\u00a0 When my dad died, Brook Lynn and I got to his apartment.\u00a0 There was an open bottle of bourbon\u00a0 that he&#8217;d obviously helped himself to.\u00a0 I got Violet out of there immediately.\u00a0 Which gave Finn and me a chance to talk.\u00a0 Did he admit to it?\u00a0 He said he had a drink, and then he changed it\u00a0 to &#8220;maybe a couple&#8221; &#8212; he couldn&#8217;t remember.\u00a0 Ugh. That&#8217;s not a good sign.\u00a0 And then Chase caught Finn drinking\u00a0 at Gregory&#8217;s reception.\u00a0 He had a shot of tequila,\u00a0 and then I watched him down a second shot,\u00a0 and then he pulled out some breath spray to cover it up.\u00a0 So it wasn&#8217;t an accident\u00a0 or a moment of grief-stricken weakness.\u00a0 Finn is drinking on purpose,\u00a0 and he doesn&#8217;t want us to know about it.\u00a0 I think it&#8217;s time you called it a night.\u00a0 Are you going to let her order me around like that?\u00a0 [ Finn mutters ]\u00a0 Take a hint, sweetheart.\u00a0 Your man&#8217;s moved on.\u00a0 What&#8217;s your name?\u00a0 Barb.\u00a0 Go home, Barb. You &#8212;\u00a0 You can&#8217;t stand to be around me when I&#8217;m grieving!\u00a0 That is not true.\u00a0 It is true!\u00a0 It is true.\u00a0 So I &#8212; I tried to find somebody who could.\u00a0 There&#8217;s not one specific thing\u00a0 that happened to suddenly change my mind about Nina.\u00a0 And my mind isn&#8217;t completely changed, by the way.\u00a0 I still take everything she says and does\u00a0 with a hefty grain of salt.\u00a0 Something&#8217;s changed.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know how else to explain it,\u00a0 except&#8230;she&#8217;s just not trying so hard.\u00a0 She&#8217;s not pushing for more, more, more\u00a0 like she used to.\u00a0 And it&#8217;s a relief, you know,\u00a0 to not constantly be throwing up boundaries.\u00a0 She&#8217;s respecting the ones that are already in place.\u00a0 That&#8217;s &#8212; That&#8217;s &#8212; That&#8217;s good.\u00a0 It <i>is<\/i> good.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not bracing for some big blow-up\u00a0 every time we see each other.\u00a0 But nothing actually happened to warrant that?\u00a0 Your uncle happened.\u00a0 I know it sounds crazy,\u00a0 but Nina&#8217;s changed, and it&#8217;s because of Drew.\u00a0 So Drew is the devil now? Oh, trust me, Maxie.\u00a0 I have seen a side of Drew that not many have.\u00a0 Yeah, front and back, from what you&#8217;ve told me.\u00a0 But there&#8217;s also another side of him,\u00a0 and I&#8217;m not just talking about his looks &#8212;\u00a0 because, yes, Drew is objectively handsome.\u00a0 Duh.\u00a0 But it&#8217;s the way he was with Wiley.\u00a0 I mean, I&#8217;m telling you, that kid lit up\u00a0 when he was around Drew, and the, you know,\u00a0 interaction with them, watching that&#8230;\u00a0 It&#8217;s kind of a turn-on, huh? Well, you know.\u00a0 Yeah, well, what I do know is I would like to go home.\u00a0 Look at Spinelli.\u00a0 Yes, yes! I would love to look at Spinelli &#8212; in my house!\u00a0 Watching Spinelli playing with your children &#8212;\u00a0 I&#8217;m sure that makes him instantly more attractive\u00a0 in your eyes. Yes, it does.\u00a0 Which is why I would really, really,\u00a0 <i>really<\/i> like to see him tonight.\u00a0 And even I have to admit\u00a0 that Drew&#8217;s six-pack doesn&#8217;t really hurt matters.\u00a0 Okay, first of all, it is a -pack.\u00a0 And, second, Nina! What?\u00a0 Why are you so focused on Drew&#8217;s abs\u00a0 if &#8212; and this is a direct quote from you, F.Y.I. &#8212;\u00a0 you do not plan on sleeping with him again?\u00a0 Well, I&#8217;m starting late, so I only have a few months to campaign,\u00a0 and these are months that I plan to devote\u00a0 to the launch of the Wellness Division,\u00a0 which we were going to do together.\u00a0 And now you want me to do it alone.\u00a0 Well, you&#8217;re gonna have Michael&#8217;s support\u00a0 on the financial end.\u00a0 I&#8217;m gonna pitch in where I can, but I &#8212;\u00a0 I honestly don&#8217;t know how much I&#8217;m gonna be able to do,\u00a0 so, yeah, it&#8217;s gonna have to be you.\u00a0 Lead the team, to answer the questions,\u00a0 talk to the designers and the concept people, you know,\u00a0 both for the platform and for the brick-and-mortar.\u00a0 Well, I can handle it.\u00a0 I have no doubt that you can.\u00a0 And now that we have talked about the business &#8212;\u00a0 and I know there&#8217;ll be more to discuss later &#8212;\u00a0 Drew, there is something\u00a0 that I want to say to you as a friend.\u00a0 I think you should do it.\u00a0 [ Laughs ] Good!\u00a0 But you got to tell me why.\u00a0 Well, I think it&#8217;ll be good for you,\u00a0 because deep down inside, you&#8217;re an idealist.\u00a0 You&#8217;ve got integrity, right?\u00a0 Which is increasingly rare in politics.\u00a0 But integrity alone\u00a0 isn&#8217;t gonna get much done in Washington.\u00a0 You&#8217;re pragmatic. You understand that there&#8217;s\u00a0 gonna be a give and a take.\u00a0 You&#8217;re not afraid to fight,\u00a0 but you also understand when something&#8217;s worth fighting for\u00a0 and when it isn&#8217;t.\u00a0 Fought for this country. You believe in liberty and justice for all.\u00a0 I think there should be more people like you in government.\u00a0 Wow. Thank you.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>[ Cellphone chimes ]<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Really, Nina?!\u00a0 Unbelievable!\u00a0 Finn is in denial that he has a problem.\u00a0 But he is trying to <i>hide<\/i> that problem.\u00a0 Because he assumes that it&#8217;s going to be a problem for us.\u00a0 According to Finn, his addiction\u00a0 is with Zekenestrol, not alcohol.\u00a0 He only stopped drinking as a precaution.\u00a0 But he&#8217;s decided that he doesn&#8217;t need to take that precaution,\u00a0 that he&#8217;s just fine drinking.\u00a0 Even though he&#8217;s made a ton of grandiose pronouncements\u00a0 that he&#8217;s never gonna drink again\u00a0 and that he&#8217;s, you know, working the program, et cetera, et cetera.\u00a0 but rather than just tell us that he&#8217;s changing his mind\u00a0 or deal with our concern, he&#8217;s hiding it!\u00a0 I can put you in touch\u00a0 with a counselor or an interventionist.\u00a0 Our main priority is Violet.\u00a0 We just want her away from that situation.\u00a0 Luckily, she&#8217;s staying at Maxie&#8217;s house tonight,\u00a0 but that&#8217;s not a permanent fix.\u00a0 She just lost her grandfather.\u00a0 She&#8217;s already lost one parent.\u00a0 We just want to keep her\u00a0 in an emotionally stable environment.\u00a0 That&#8217;s all well and good,\u00a0 but Finn lives for that little girl.
