What is it?<\/p>\n<p>Brooke: Right, well, for what it&#8217;s worth, you both look beautiful.<\/p>\n<p>Katie: Well, so do you. I know donna was really happy that we rallied.<\/p>\n<p>Hope: It feels strange. I mean, it feels sad.<\/p>\n<p>Katie: I know. Normally, we&#8217;re getting all dressed up because of something fun and festive.<\/p>\n<p>Brooke: We have to make it fun, festive. We have to make it a joyous celebration for eric.<\/p>\n<p>Eric: You&#8217;re beautiful, you&#8211; you&#8217;re an absolute vision.<\/p>\n<p>Donna: This ol&#8217; thing?<\/p>\n<p>[ Both laughing ] You like it? Okay, now we have to get you all spiffed up and get the rest of your outfit on.<\/p>\n<p>Eric: Yeah. You&#8217;re right. I didn&#8217;t realize why you were working with granddad. And I, um&#8211; I think it&#8217;s really cool that you&#8217;ve been helping him out.<\/p>\n<p>Brooke: Thankfully, bridget&#8217;s on her way from new york. I just dread telling her about her father.<\/p>\n<p>Hope: Well, we&#8217;ll all be there to support her.<\/p>\n<p>Katie: And thorne, too, I&#8211; I saw him earlier in the hallway.<\/p>\n<p>Brooke: Yeah, I&#8217;m glad he was able to take an earlier flight. I think ridge is telling him as we speak.<\/p>\n<p>Thorne: Well, kristen, felicia and rick are on that safari in africa.<\/p>\n<p>Ridge: Yeah, I know. They&#8217;re not going to make it back in time.<\/p>\n<p>Thorne: Well, why did dad change his plans?<\/p>\n<p>Ridge: That&#8217;s what I want to talk to you about.<\/p>\n<p>Thorne: Is everything okay, ridge?<\/p>\n<p>Ridge: No. Dad is not well.<\/p>\n<p>Thorne: He&#8217;s sick?<\/p>\n<p>Ridge: Yeah.<\/p>\n<p>Thorne: Well, how serious is it, ridge?<\/p>\n<p>Ridge: I guess there&#8217;s no easy way to tell you this. This, tonight&#8211; this&#8211; this party tonight, it&#8217;s going to be wonderful. One last family gather. Secret works! Ohhh yesss.<\/p>\n<p>Zende: Maybe I&#8217;m in denial, but I assumed we&#8217;d have more time with him.<\/p>\n<p>Luna: Eric&#8217;s condition is worse than it looks.<\/p>\n<p>Carter: Yeah, he just covered it fairly well.<\/p>\n<p>Zende: Granddad&#8217;s been here working on his new line. He&#8217;s been in great spirits. He&#8217;s been cracking jokes.<\/p>\n<p>Carter: Zende, you saw him at his best. I did too. But his condition&#8217;s extremely grave.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas: It&#8217;s clear that he doesn&#8217;t think he has long to live.<\/p>\n<p>Carter: A goodbye party.<\/p>\n<p>Hope: Okay, so katie went back to the house to help donna with eric, ridge is having a few of us meet here, thorne&#8217;s already here and now we&#8217;re just waiting on&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Bridget: There you are.<\/p>\n<p>Brooke: Bridget.<\/p>\n<p>Bridget: I&#8217;ve been looking all over for you.<\/p>\n<p>Brooke: Oh, honey. So good to see you.<\/p>\n<p>Bridget: You too. [ Laughs ]<\/p>\n<p>Bridget: My little sis, it has been a little too long.<\/p>\n<p>Brooke: Little?<\/p>\n<p>Hope: I&#8217;m so happy you were able to make it.<\/p>\n<p>Bridget: Me too. What is this occasion, though? It&#8217;s clearly not dad&#8217;s birthday. It&#8217;s the launch of his new line, right?<\/p>\n<p>Brooke: Uh, I wish.<\/p>\n<p>Bridget: Mom, what&#8211; what is that look about?<\/p>\n<p>Thorne: Dad&#8217;s&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Ridge: Sorry, thorne. Sorry I have to tell you like that.<\/p>\n<p>Thorne: Why didn&#8217;t he tell me? Why am I just finding out about this now?<\/p>\n<p>Ridge: He doesn&#8217;t want anyone to know.<\/p>\n<p>Thorne: Well, I&#8217;m not just anyone, ridge. I&#8217;m his son.<\/p>\n<p>Ridge: Didn&#8217;t tell me either. Or brooke. As far as he&#8217;s concerned, there&#8217;s just a handful of people that know about his condition.<\/p>\n<p>Thorne: So, you all are acting like you don&#8217;t know?<\/p>\n<p>Ridge: Now you have to do the same.<\/p>\n<p>Thorne: I don&#8217;t think I can do that, ridge.<\/p>\n<p>Ridge: Hey, those are dad&#8217;s wishes.<\/p>\n<p>Thorne: So, I&#8217;m just&#8211; I&#8217;m just supposed to let my dad go and&#8211; and not say anything, ridge?<\/p>\n<p>[ Steffy sighs ]<\/p>\n<p>Steffy: You know about granddad? I am so sorry.<\/p>\n<p>Thorne: I&#8217;m&#8211; I&#8217;m not prepared for this. I&#8217;m not ready to let dad go.<\/p>\n<p>Donna: Are you comfortable? Can I get you anything? And&#8211; and don&#8217;t you dare say a martini.<\/p>\n<p>Eric: No this, uh&#8211; this actually helps.<\/p>\n<p>Donna: Good. Hi.<\/p>\n<p>Katie: Are you all right?<\/p>\n<p>Eric: Yeah, yeah. I&#8217;m fine.<\/p>\n<p>Katie: Eric, are you sure you want to go through with this?<\/p>\n<p>Eric: Katie, the party is a go.<\/p>\n<p>Katie: Please, eric, please let donna and me take you to the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Eric: No! Did he get a second opinion?<\/p>\n<p>Brooke: His case has been reviewed by many oncologists and they&#8217;ve all said the same thing.<\/p>\n<p>Bridget: There&#8217;s no known cure.<\/p>\n<p>Brooke: I know this is devastating news and I&#8217;m sorry. I&#8211; I didn&#8217;t want this to be true. I just wish I could take your pain away.<\/p>\n<p>Hope: Me too. I&#8217;m so sorry, sis.<\/p>\n<p>Bridget: I was on the plane today. I got so excited to see you all. Especially daddy. I just really missed him. I really missed him. Now, you&#8217;re telling me he&#8217;s horribly sick with this disease. And on top of it, we have to put up a front? Like, I&#8217;m not allowed to know about it?<\/p>\n<p>Hope: We&#8217;re struggling with it too and none of us are happy having to keep up this charade.<\/p>\n<p>Bridget: This is ridiculous.<\/p>\n<p>Brooke: No, this is, um&#8211; this is what eric wants. He wants us to all come together as a family and love each other and just have this big, joyous occasion and celebration.<\/p>\n<p>Bridget: A celebration? What?<\/p>\n<p>[ Bridget sobbing ] And they moved the party up. Mommy. Doesn&#8217;t have much time, does he? What did they tell him? I don&#8217;t know. [ Sobbing ]<\/p>\n<p>Hope: It&#8217;s progressing faster than any of us realize.<\/p>\n<p>Bridget: [ Sobbing ] Why didn&#8217;t anyone tell me? Oh, daddy. No!<\/p>\n<p>Brooke: I&#8217;m sorry. I&#8217;m so sorry.<\/p>\n<p>Bridget: How long does he have?<\/p>\n<p>Katie: This all looks good.<\/p>\n<p>Eric: So, do we have everything we need? We have enough wine?<\/p>\n<p>Donna: Even the bottle of wine from your wedding with stephanie. If there&#8217;s anyone here who can&#8217;t pretend that everything is fine, anyone who thinks they can&#8217;t hide their grief, then maybe they should stay here &#8217;cause tonight is&#8211; is not about grief and sadness. It&#8217;s about celebrating a great man, okay?<\/p>\n<p>Ridge: Dad is getting weaker. We can all see that. And he&#8217;s going to need us as a source of power. So, this is the performance of a lifetime.<\/p>\n<p>Thorne: I can&#8217;t promise that I won&#8217;t break down when I see him.<\/p>\n<p>Bridget: Yeah, I agree with thorne, it&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Ridge: Let it out. Let the tears fall. Do it now.<\/p>\n<p>Bridget: Are you serious? This is absolutely ridiculous. How is this world of make believe healthy? I mean, honestly, mom, this fantasy land where everyone is supposed to pretend that everything is okay? Dad is dying, ridge.<\/p>\n<p>Ridge: You think this is what I want? This is what he wants. There&#8217;s going to be plenty of time to mourn him when he&#8217;s not watching us. So, right now, we need to do this for him.<\/p>\n<p>Brooke: We need to remember how important this is for eric.<\/p>\n<p>Ridge: It&#8217;s not going to be easy for any of us. We can do it. We have to. We&#8217;re going to bring joy and happiness, look at me. Joy and happiness for him. We&#8217;re gonna celebrate him.
