So, um… tell you what. Why– why don’t I have legal just draw up the contract tonight, and then tomorrow, I’ll have a– a messenger bring you a hard copy. Yeah. Thanks a lot. Bye-bye. Well, hello, there. So much prettier than wyatt.

Steffy: Are you busy?

Liam: Uh, no, that was– that was my last call for the day. What are you doin’ here?

Steffy: I forgot to give you kelly’s wristband, she wears it for all her soccer games and bailey has the same one, and they’re at the stage where they like to match.

Liam: Yep. Yep. Aww, that’s cute. I could have picked this up on my way home, you didn’t have to come all the way here, though.

Steffy: I– I just– I just wanted to check in with you, see if you heard anything from hope and thomas about their business trip to san francisco.

Hope: So as you can see, we are very excited about this collection.

Thomas: Well, I, for one, believe in staying a step ahead of the clientele, and giving them what they didn’t know they needed.

Hope: And we hope that we have made believers out of you.

Buyer #1: Indeed. It was a convincing presentation of a beautiful collection.

Buyer #2: Some of the best work hope for the future has ever produced.

Hope: Well, we– we like to think so.

Thomas: Yeah.

Buyer #1: You two make an incredible team.

Buyer #2: We’re very happy you’re back, spearheading the line.

Hope: I couldn’t agree more.

Liam: You’re asking me if I have any information on a forrester meeting? Aren’t you the ceo?

Steffy: That is true, but I just thought you may have heard from hope before me.

Liam: Uh, no.

[ Phone chiming ]

Liam: Oh? Speaking of.

Steffy: It’s hope?

Liam: Mm-hmm. “The meeting just wrapped, went great!” Exclamation point. “Thomas and I are heading to the jet soon. We will be on our way home. Love you.” Cool. Well, that’s best-case-scenario, right? Success and she’s outta there.

Steffy: Yeah. Yeah, I’m glad to hear it.

Liam: Hmm.

Steffy: Not just because the pitch went well, but also, uh, hope and thomas flying out together was a little concerning for you.

Liam: Whatever. She’s on her way home now, it’s all I care about.

Thomas: Have a good one.

Buyer #1: Thank you.

Hope: Did that go as well as I think it did?

Thomas: It couldn’t have gone better.

Hope: Oh, my gosh. We– were amazing. You were amazing. All that forrester charm?

Thomas: You were, uh, awesome! You were compelling, you were passionate. You’re irresistible. I mean, look, I– I– I think we just expanded our reach dramatically.

Hope: I know. I know, I’m feeling pretty good about it. Oh, thomas, thank you. Thank you again. I mean, I– I’ve seen all the hard work that you’ve put into the designs and now this presentation, it just– it doesn’t go unnoticed.

Thomas: Thank you for giving me a chance to actually prove myself.

[ Phone chiming ]

Hope: Uh… oh, it’s the pilot.

Thomas: Oh, I thought he was– we were supposed to call him, right?

Hope: Um, hey, trevor. You– you actually have both of us here, and good timing, and we just finished up with the meeting.

Thomas: Hey.

Trevor: Apologies, but I’m afraid we’re having some mechanical issues.

Crew’s doing everything

they can, but… there’s a chance that we might not get out tonight. I’ll keep you posted.

[ Phone beeps ]

[ Thomas sighing ]

Hope: Come on.

Thomas: I know. Look, I– I know you want to get home to liam, I just… feel terrible. No two bodies are the same.

Hope: I can’t believe this. I mean, of course! Of course the jet is having mechanical issues when I happen to be here with you. I mean, liam is going to love this.

Thomas: Okay, but it’s a non-issue if I can get you on a commercial flight, right?

Hope: Yeah, except I don’t see any that are available and you’ve been on hold forever, and I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

Thomas: We’ll know soon enough.

Hope: [ Sighs ] Thank you, for trying to help me get home.

Thomas: You’re welcome. But– but don’t worry about this, I know that you want to get home to liam and the family, but… think about what we just did today. I mean, we were supposed to impress those buyers, and we did, and that’s great for the line.

Hope: Oh, yeah. Hell yeah, we did.

[ Both laughing ]

Thomas: It’s amazing teamwork.

Hope: Yeah, it was almost like we were finishing each other’s sentences.

Thomas: Yeah, like one mind and two voices. It’s weird.

Hope: Oh, I don’t know. I was– I was having so much fun, I forgot to be nervous.

Thomas: Oh. You don’t have to be. Not when I’m around. Yeah, I’m here. What does that mean? All right, yeah. Thank you very much. Okay. Okay, so, um, bad news. Uh, by the time you got to the airport, there’s only one more flight out tonight, and it’s fully booked.

Hope: Dammit!

Thomas: I know, I’m sorry.

Hope: No, no, it is fine, it is no one’s fault, it’s just, I had already texted liam after the meeting that I would be home soon, and that’s what he will be expecting. Me, walking through the door, not spending the night here with you. Oh, this isn’t good.

Steffy: Look, I– I get why you’re wary of thomas. His past, and I understand why you don’t like the idea of hope and thomas jetting off together.

Liam: I mean, yeah. From where I’m sittin’, it’s just a recipe for disaster, but who am I kidding? I don’t like them together in any context, so–

Steffy: Look, I don’t know how many times I need to reassure you. But thomas has changed. He’s focused on work. Saving hope for the future with designs only he can create. And they make a fantastic team. I think you need to think about that. Be a little thankful.

Liam: Ah– well, meeting’s over and hope’s on her way home, and I’m definitely thankful for that, so–

[ Phone ringing ] Aha. Hey, you.

Congratulations on the meeting.

Can’t say I’m surprised.

Uh, any time you set your mind to something, you’re irresistible, so buyers never stood a chance. Proud of you.

Hope: Thanks.

Liam: So… yeah, I can’t wait for you to get home so we can celebrate properly.

Hope: Um, well, me– me too, but unfortunately, there is a bit of a problem.

Liam: I, uh– I thought that the buyers loved it.

Hope: The jet is having mechanical issues.

Liam: Oh. Uh, all right. Well, hey. It’s a good thing you figured that out when you’re still on the ground. Right? ‘Cause, ‘um… uh, so what, you just gonna fly commercial, or…

Hope: Well, see, that’s the thing. By the time I get to the airport, there’s only one flight out, and it’s already fully booked.

Liam: Oh. Um… so what are you saying exactly? Just, are you– you’re stuck, you’re gonna be spending the night in san francisco with thomas?

[]

Hope: Well, hopefully they will be able to fix the problem, and then we can make it home tonight.

The pilot is going

to keep us updated.

But, um, yes, it is possible that thomas and I will have to stay in san francisco overnight.

Liam: Seriously?

Hope: I know. I know. I know. But fingers crossed, hopefully I will be able to make it home tonight, still, somehow. I just– I really, really want to see you and the kids. Um, but I– I do have to get going. Um, but I will– I will keep you posted. Okay? I love you, liam.

Liam: Yeah, I love you, too.

Steffy: Hope and thomas are spending the night in san francisco?

Thomas: Okay. Uh, while you were talking to liam, I decided to go ahead and order us some room service.

Hope: Oh, good call. I am starving.

Thomas: Yeah, that, uh, pitch meeting kind of worked up an appetite. Niçoise salad, right?

Hope: [ Laughs ] Yep. You know me so well.

Thomas: Yeah.

Hope: Thank you.

Thomas: I’m sorry you have to be here. Was liam upset?

Hope: If I just hadn’t texted him I would be home soon, then I wouldn’t have set that expectation. Then it wouldn’t look so bad, and then– you know what? No. We had a great day here, and I don’t want to ruin that, so I am going to think positively and not stress, and the jet is going to be fixed. And in the meantime, all I can do is wait, so that is what I am going to try to do.

Thomas: Waiting. Not really my strong suit.

Hope: [ Laughs ] Oh, tell me about it.

[ Both laughing ] Well, hey, at least it’s good company.

Thomas: Yeah. You’re being a really good sport about all of this.

Hope: Well, so are you.

Thomas: Yeah, this isn’t that terrible for me. I get a night in san francisco. I can go grab some sushi, and then head back to the hotel and keep working. You need to get home to your fam–

Hope: Hey. Hey hey. No, no, no. No more work for you. You did enough today. All right? So, if– if we are actually stuck here, then I say we should just enjoy that dinner that you ordered for us, and just… bask in the glory of our success.

Thomas: Okay. Yeah. That’s actually a really good idea. I’m gonna go ahead and order myself a room, then. Just in case.

Liam: Isn’t it so funny how I never really liked the idea of hope and thomas going on a trip together?

Steffy: Hey, there’s still a chance they could– they could get home tonight.

Liam: I know, but the later it gets, the less I like the odds, and just… the thought of hope and thomas alone together overnight, it– I said, I see it

Steffy: Yeah, okay. Keep me posted. Thanks. Still workin’ on the mechanical issue, and pilot says it might not be fixed tonight, so yeah, hope and thomas might be spending the night in san francisco.

Liam: Well, I, for one, think that’s great. I think it’s so great, and with my luck, the hotel will be almost completely booked up, and thomas will be chivalrous enough to offer to share his room.

Steffy: Oh, liam, stop. You know that’s not gonna happen. And I know that you– you have reason to doubt him because of what happened in the past. I understand.

Liam: Yeah, but you– you– you think I should leave it in the past and give him the same chance everybody else is.

Steffy: I just think you need to be open to it. Give thomas the benefit of the doubt. Save you some grief.

Liam: [ Laughs ] That’s– actually, that’s probably true. It would save me some grief. It’s just that I’ve seen this too many times before. It’s like thomas does change… for a second. And then he’s back to scheming.

Steffy: Okay, but you have to admit, hope and thomas working together right now, it’s not the horror show you’ve been worried about.

Liam: No, it’s not. Yet. I mean, when the possibility first arose, I was just like… I was begging hope, I was begging her not to work with him, and she– she considered it, and she agreed with me, and I thought the issue was settled, and then the very next day, she changed her mind and she hired him.

Steffy: Yeah, that must hurt.

Liam: Uh, yeah. I mean, I was pretty convinced that was like the end of all peace and harmony in our household. It was like– it was like we just took opposite corners of the ring, you know? And– and then there’s thomas, right there in the middle, driving a wedge between us. And the truth is, hope has been pretty amazing, though. She’s been… yeah, she’s been kind and supportive, and she’s assured me over and over that if he tries anything, he’s– he’s out of there.

Steffy: Hope,

I know what I saw.

You caressing thomas’s hands,

staring into his eyes,

saying all the things

that you were saying.

You have feelings for him. Liam, thomas’s feelings are in check. You don’t have to worry about him.

Thomas: Well, I think this day deserves a toast.

Hope: I completely agree.

Thomas: To the wonderful meeting we just had, and the big fat order that’s gonna come from it.

Hope: Mm, hear hear!

Thomas: Yeah.

Hope: All right, uh, my turn. Uh, to us, to turning over a new leaf, and to continuing to make magic together.

Thomas: I’ll drink to that!

Hope: Hey, huzzah!

Thomas: Huzzah!

Thomas: Aw, man.

Hope: Mm. You know, I really do have to commend you, thomas. I mean, this whole… new and improved version of you. Thomas 2.0.

Thomas: Ha!

Hope: It’s been, um… it’s been really great to see. Not just at hope for the future, but… it’s been really beneficial for douglas as well.

Thomas: Well, I– I hope it’s not too boastful of me to say, but I am actually really proud of the progress I’ve made, ’cause it’s gotten us to a place where we can have a friendship like this.

Hope: Well, good! I think you should be proud. You’ve– you’ve put in a lot of hard work, and… honestly, I… am proud to call you my business partner now, and not only that, but I consider you a friend.

Thomas: Your high praises mean the world.

Thomas: You’re giving me that look again. What does it mean?

[ Laughs ]

Hope: I don’t know. I don’T…

[ Thomas laughing ] I mean– you know that I love liam. And my family, they mean everything to me.

Thomas: Of course.

Hope: Good. Because I’ve been really trying to… just have us in a good place, you know? And I’ve been constantly reassuring liam about our partnership, and that there’s nothing to worry about there, which is really ironic, that I’m the one having to assuage his fears, when he’s done everything that he’s done, and I have never given him anything to really worry about.

Thomas: Wait. Worry about what?

Hope: It has not always been easy to grow up in my mother’s shadow. I mean, you know. You’ve done it yourself. I mean, there’s been a lot of judgment cast upon my mom, and some of that judgment just… get passed down to me, and I have tried so hard to fight against that. I’m my own person, I’m not my mom, and her with her stupid excuse of just following her heart… really, she just… leaves a trail of devastation behind her. I never wanted to be like that. My principles, and my morals, they matter to me. It’S…

Thomas: No. Wait. Hey, hey, hold on. Hold on. Hope. You are the most principled and– and moral person I’ve ever met. You’re nothing like your mother. And I’ve watched you my entire life, you’re– you-re– you’re like one of the most incredible people ever. And you love your family. You always want to be with liam and– and nothing is gonna come between you two.

Hope: Thank you. Thank you.

Thomas: Here.
