That’s what matters. Mom…

Taylor: Honey, I have to confess. I have to– I have to confess to shooting bill, it’s the only way.

Steffy: Oh, my god. Can you just forget about bill?

No, b you–

Steffy: We will figure out a way to put sheila behind bars. You’re not turning yourself in. Enough.

Taylor: But all it would take is a phone call steffy. I just– I just say that I shot bill and–

Steffy: No, they would arrest you on the spot.

Taylor: But no more blackmail and sheila’s behind bars.

Steffy: Stop talking about this, please. You are not going to jail.

Taylor: Steffy, it’s the only way to keep our family safe.

Katie: Taylor shot bill. I just can’t believe that you’ve kept this secret all these years.

Brooke: For the few of us who knew, we all agreed to keep it quiet, including bill.

Katie: Taylor committed a major crime, brooke. I mean, she almost took my son’s father away from him.

Brooke: Yes, I know and that was terrible, really. But taylor regrets what she did deeply. So please do not make her burden of guilt any heavier.

[ Hope sighing ]

Thomas: Knock, knock.

Hope: Thomas.

Thomas: Don’t call security please.

Hope: What are you doing here?

Thomas: I came to see you and offer my services, again.

Hope: Thomas, how did you get in the building?

Thomas: Have you seen charlie?

Hope: Okay, you can’t keep doing this. Steffy and ridge made it abundantly clear–

Thomas: I am not welcome here. I am well aware of that, but I think everyone is making a big mistake.

Hope: We’ve been over this already.

Thomas: The fact is that forrester needs me. You need me. The line’s suffering, hope. I’m worried about you and I’m worried about hope for the future.

Katie: I’m still just trying to digest all of this. I mean what it must have taken for taylor to pull that trigger.

Brooke: Something she can’t fully comprehend herself.

Katie: I know what she thought bill had done to her daughter and as a mother, I get that fierce protectiveness, but for her to snap in such a brutal way?

Brooke: Some impulse took over inside of her. That’s not who taylor really is.

Katie: I’m not saying that she’s a monster, but my feelings are much more conflicted for taylor now that I know she shot bill.

Taylor: I have to do this, steffy. I– I have to come forward. I can handle the repercussions, but I could not handle it if something happened to you and the kids.

Steffy: Mom, we’re fine.

Taylor: I would never forgive myself.

Steffy: We are fine.

Taylor: No. Steffy, the only way to ensure your safety is if sheila’s locked up and I’m the only one that can make that happen. I have to confess. I have to tell the police.

[ Music playing ]

Thomas: I understand you’re not ready to forgive me yet.

Hope: It is not that simple, thomas. Your fake C.P.S. Call harmed a lot of people.

Thomas: Yeah, no kidding. My family is not speaking to me and you can barely look at me and douglas–

Hope: Is still hurt.

Thomas: Yeah, he’s probably wondering why his father could do such a thing.

Hope: We all are.

Thomas: Blaming that phone call on brooke was a bad idea. It was reckless, it was mean spirited and if I could go back and change it, I would.

Hope: Honestly, I wish you could too. But it’s a little too late for that. You made a bad choice and now you’re suffering the consequences.

Thomas: Right, I am suffering the consequences, but so are you. You lost your lead designer and your line ha sufferg ever since. That’s not just my opinion. You read the reviews yourself. Look, I have been busting my tail ever since I was let go here. I have designs that could go into production right now.

Hope: And that is what makes this entire situation so sad. Thomas, you have endless talent and potential and yet you keep squandering it away doing these… these hurtful, inexcusable things.

Thomas: And I told you I am so sorry about that, but please just let me come back and help, let me do that for you.

Hope: It’s not my decision to make anyway, it’s up to ridge and steffy.

Thomas: That’s true. But I believe that if you push them, you can get them to bring me back on and let me design for you, again.

Katie: I’m trying not to judge, but what if bill hadn’t survived?

Brooke: I don’t even want to think about that.

Katie: Well think about it. What if it had happened? I mean if that bullet was one millimeter to the left or to the right, he would be dead. I would be raising my little boy without his father. I mean we thought that we were going to lose him. He was in a coma for weeks. I mean that’s what keeps playing over and over and over again in my head.

Brooke: I know. All the what ifs. It could’ve been a tragedy.

Katie: We got lucky. Taylor got lucky. She could’ve killed him.

Brooke: She wouldn’t have been able to live with herself. She barely can as it is.

Katie: Well, it must be a hard thing to accept about yourself, that you could take a human life. I mean it’s not like it was an accident.

Brooke: Taylor wasn’t in her right mind.

Katie okay, I get that you’re friends now and she was having some kind of episode, but that doesn’t excuse what she did. I mean, I’m not saying that she should be in jail, it happened a long time ago.

Brooke: Bill didn’t even want to see her incarcerated.

Katie: Only now, he’s using it to blackmail her in exchange for sheila’s release. That’s just lovely.

Brooke: And that’s the real tragedy. The only reason this is being brought up again is because of sheila carter. And I’m not gonna let taylor suffer because of sheila.

Taylor: Look, steffy, we can’t live like this forever. You know, bill being in control, sheila hanging over our heads.

Steffy: We’ll live like this because there’s no other choice to be made.

Taylor: There is. I tell the truth!

Steffy: Mom! Don’t! Stop!

Taylor: This blackmail with bill ends, sheila gets out of our lives and then, you know what? You and finn, you press charges. You testify. And guess what? Sheila goes down.

Steffy: You don’t understand. There is no guarantee. With bill’s power and influence and the lengths he’ll go to keep sheila from being in prison. There is no promise justice will be served, so can you get these thoughts out of your mind, please? I need you. The kids need you. So many people need you. Yes, we’ve all done things that we’re not proud of. But that is no reason to throw away your future. Tell me you understand that, mom. Promise me you’re not gonna turn yourself in.

For your most brilliant smile,

crest has you covered.

Taylor: I’m not even a violent person.

Steffy: Of course, you’re not.

Taylor: I didn’t go over to bill’s house that night to hurt him.

Steffy: No, you went there to protect me. You reacted in the heat of the moment.

Taylor: I snapped, I shot someone.

Steffy: Mom, you are not a criminal. You are a caretaker. You are so valuable to this world. Look, shooting bill, it gave you a rare perspective. It made you more understanding, more human, more compassionate. I mean, think about all the people that you have forgiven in a lifetime. You even forgave sheila for shooting you.

Taylor: That was stupid.

Steffy: Now it’s time to show yourself some mercy. You are an extraordinary woman. Never lose sight of that.

Taylor: Thank you, steffy. Thank you for your for your– for your kind words.

Steffy: Well, i mean it. You are too important to us. So don’t be tempted to go to the police, I am begging you.

Taylor: I need to go home, steff.

Steffy: No, mom. Why don’t you stay with us for a while?

Taylor: Uh, honey, I don’t want to interfere.

Steffy: You’re not interfering, not at all.

Taylor: Steffy, I– I love you so much. Watching you and the– and the woman that you have grown into is… it’s the greatest joy of my life.

Steffy: Best part, there is so much more to come.

Taylor: I’ll see you later, baby.

Thomas: You don’t have to give me an answer right now.

Hope: Not my answer to give.

Thomas: I get it. My fate is in the hands of my father and little sister.

Hope: Mmm, I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you. Steffy and ridge seemed pretty upset with you.

Thomas: So are you?

Hope: Hm. I have a lot of work to do thomas, so…

Thomas: Um, is that one of zende’s and granddad’s designs? Do you mind if I check it out?

[ Hope sighing ] I mean it’s, yeah, it’s– it’s nice. It’s um… the neckline is– is, um, it’s good. It’s very obvious.

Hope: Obvious?

Thomas: Yeah. I mean, look, obviously tremendous respect for my grandfather. He’s legendary in couture and– and zende is coming into his own, but… this is um, I mean, come on hope. This isn’t hope for the future.

Katie: Well, I have to get to my meeting. I guess I’ll let you get back up to the house.

Brooke: Katie, for what it’s worth, I understand why you’d be shaken by this news.

Katie: You mean that taylor shot my ex-husband and let liam believe that he was the shooter for weeks? Yeah, that’s gonna take a minute to settle in.

Brooke: And I don’t blame you. But I just hope these feelings are temporary. I really am hoping that you can show taylor some grace.

Steffy: Brooke?

Brooke: Steffy.

Steffy: Hi. Hey, katie.

Katie: Hey.

Steffy: Uh, I’m sorry, carmen sent me down here.

Brooke: Are– are you okay?

Steffy: Actually, I need to talk to you.

Brooke: All right, I’ll talk to you later.

Katie: Okay.

Steffy: Are hope and liam–

Brooke: They’re not here, they’re at work. So what is it? What’s the matter?

Steffy: It’s– it’s my mom.

Brooke: Is she okay? What’s wrong?

Steffy: I don’t know, but I’m really worried about her.

Taylor: It’s time for

the truth to come out. I’m jonathan lawson

Thomas: It’s a neat color, you know, and it, I see what granddad and zende were trying to do here. It’s simple. It’s elegant and it’s– it’s not straying too far from the status quo.

[ Thomas sighing ] Look, it is– it’s– it’s beautiful. You get what I mean though, right? I mean it’S… it is elegant. It’s wonderful. It’s definitely a forrester, but it’s not thomas forrester. Did that sound too arrogant?

Hope: Do you really want me to answer that?

Thomas: Okay, hope. You get what I’m saying, right? I mean, this– this isn’t representative of your– of your vision, of your line, of– of who you are. This isn’t pushing any boundaries.

Hope: And you’re certainly an expert at pushing boundaries.

Thomas: Walked right into that one, didn’t I?

Hope: Yup.

Thomas: You get what I mean, don’t you? Come on, hope. Just bring me back onto the line. I know that you’re already talking to steffy about it. Right? And look, I don’t even have to work here with you. I can work off campus for a while. You don’t have to pay me anything but a dollar. Come on, please just bring me back onto the team. You know how we work together? Let’s bring your line back to what it was when it was fun and it was exciting and it did push boundaries. Come on, hope. Just say yes.

Brooke: Tell me what happened.

Steffy: My mom keeps talking about turning herself in.

Brooke: No, she can’t do that.

Steffy: That’s what I keep saying, but she’s haunted by what she did to bill. She even compared herself to sheila.

Brooke: Oh, that’s ridiculous. She’s nothing like that lunatic.

Steffy: I know and I told her she doesn’t have to feel that way, but I don’t think I’m getting through to her. It’s like her conscience is eating away at her, not just because of shooting bill. She thinks that she’s responsible that sheila is roaming free and on top of that, she’s alone at the beach house, just–

Brooke: Okay, well why doesn’t she move back with you and finn and the kids?

Steffy: I– I tried. I tried to convince her to stay with us, but she feels as though she’s some kind of burden, that she’s interrupting our lives.

Brooke: She’s not a burden.

Steffy: That’s exactly what I said. What do I do, brooke? I need your input. I hate that my mom was alone at the beach house, especially ’cause she’s carrying all this shame and regret.

Brooke: It sounds like you’re doing everything that you can and I will too. I will be there for you and your mother.

Steffy: Thank you.

Brooke: Just glad you came to me.

Steffy: Honestly, I didn’t really know where to turn. You and my mom have built a nice friendship, although I’m still getting used to sharing my mom with you.

Brooke: I like your mom very much. She’s become a very dear friend to me and I know what it’s like to feel isolated and fall into a depression. So, we need to make sure that your mom doesn’t do anything that she regrets.

[ Taylor sighing ]

[ Door creaking ]

[ Gun firing ]

Taylor: Sheila carter’s a free woman, but she’s far from innocent.
