He admitted that the only reason he broke up with me was because he felt like it was best for me. He didn\u2019t admit it to my face, but it\u2019s a real motive behind him breaking things off.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nick:<\/strong> Do you think we don\u2019t know that already? And who cares? It shouldn\u2019t change anything.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sally:<\/strong> Yeah, but it does, because I\u2019m not okay with him making that sacrifice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nick:<\/strong> Well, Adam doesn\u2019t care what you think, obviously. He made this decision without consulting you, and he\u2019s lying to you, and he\u2019s continuing to lie to you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sally:<\/strong> It was a terrible, stupid mistake on Adam\u2019s part, but I know he believes he\u2019s doing the right thing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nick:<\/strong> You\u2019re just making excuses for him, just like Sharon did and Chelsea and just like Victoria did for Ashland.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sally:<\/strong> That is not what I\u2019m doing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nick:<\/strong> Sally, what is wrong with you? You\u2019ve got this incredible opportunity. It is right in front of your face. You just have to grab it. And you\u2019re willing to throw it all away for this guy who stomped on your heart with both feet. Is this all the self-respect you have?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sally<\/strong>: Why are you being so harsh? I bet this has more to do with what your sister just went through than it does with me. So please don\u2019t put all your baggage on me. You don\u2019t know me that well<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">*******************<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chloe:<\/strong> So, was I right about Adam earlier? Is he angry with you for staying on at Newman when he decided to quit? Is that why he broke up with you?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sally:<\/strong> [Sighs] You have it backwards, Chloe. Adam broke up with me so that I can stay here. He knew that Victoria would never agree to keep me on as long as we were still together, that she could never trust me to somehow not be conspiring with him. So, he came up with some bogus story about not wanting to be with me because Victor wouldn\u2019t approve.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chloe:<\/strong> Oh, my god. That is just so hurtful.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sally:<\/strong> I knew that that\u2019s not how he really felt, which is exactly what you saw us arguing about earlier. And then tonight, I confirmed it. I overheard him admitting to Sharon that he only cut me loose so that our relationship wouldn\u2019t get in the way of my job here at Newman Media.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chloe:<\/strong> And let me guess, you confronted him right away.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sally:<\/strong> Of course. I told him that this was a huge mistake and that he would regret it for the rest of his life, once I had moved on with someone else.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chloe:<\/strong> Good for you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sally<\/strong>: But then I also<\/p>\n<p>[Sighs] Told him that I didn\u2019t want to get the job this way and that I would<\/p>\n<p>[Inhaling deeply] Be turning in my resignation first thing in the morning.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chloe:<\/strong> Okay.
