Unless we’re both having the same dream.

Nicole: Oh, god, I hope not.

Rafe: Yeah.

Nicole: Because I don’t ever wanna wake up.

EJ: So Rafe Hernandez was found innocent. Lucky bastard.

Orpheus: Heard you lost your cellmate today.

EJ: Yes, Weston got paroled. Good for him.

Orpheus: You really think that?

EJ: Why wouldn’t I?

Orpheus: Maybe because he tried to have you killed.

Ciara: I hate this, Ben.

Ben: Yeah, well, I don’t love it myself, Ciara.

Ciara: Your dad just shows up out of the blue, and you let him move in here, really?

Ben: He’s not gonna stay here that long, I promise you.

Ciara: Ben, babe, I…

Clyde: Hey, everything okay?

Ben: Yeah, everything’s good.

Clyde: Look, if I’m creating a problem by staying here, just say so

Ciara: You are making a problem.

Brady: So do you think Leo bought your act?

Abigail: He seemed to. I mean, I went on quite dramatically about how he’s the reason my marriage is falling apart. You know, Chad won’t stop talking about him, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.

Brady: Well, I’m sure he enjoyed that.

Abigail: Oh, he ate it up. Believe me. So how are things going on your side?

Brady: Well, Chloe and I tailed Craig to the hospital like a bunch of secret agents.

Abigail: What is he doing at the hospital?

Brady: We’re not sure yet. Chloe’s there now; she’s gonna try to intercept Craig to stall him long enough for Chad to work his magic on Leo.

Abigail: Poor Chad.

Brady: Hopefully, Chloe will send Craig home at the right time.

Abigail: Yep, to find Leo in bed with my husband.

[Knocking on door]

Craig: Come in

Chloe: Dad, hi.

Craig: Sweetheart. This is a surprise. How did you know I was here?

Chloe: I just ran into Steve and Kayla, and they said that you took her job.

Craig: Yeah, look. Look, Kayla was gonna lose her job no matter what. I just presented the board with a viable alternative.

Chloe: And was that your idea or Leo’s?

[Tense music]

Leo: You’re here to see me? Why?

Chad: You alone?

Leo: Yeah. Craig is at his new job.

Chad: So then does that mean that you and I… that we can talk privately?

Leo: About what?

Chad: Ah. Can I just come in please? Can I come in?

Leo: Okay, why not?

Male announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the “days of our lives.”

[Soft orchestration]

Chad: Mind if I have a drink?

Leo: Looks like it wouldn’t be your first.

[Soft music]

Chad: I’ve had a very rough day. Abby and I, we got in a… a big fight.

Leo: I know. She was just here.

Chad: She came here?

Leo: Mm-hmm.

Chad: What did she say?

Leo: She’s pretty upset. She accused me of causing trouble between the two of you.

Chad: [Laughs] That’s ridiculous. I don’t know what she’s talking about. I don’t know what she’s…

Leo: Well, for starters, she says that you call out my name in your sleep.

Chad: Okay. I explained that to her. I was dreaming about a dog that I had when I was a kid. His name was Leo.

Leo: I don’t think she was convinced, and neither am I.

Chad: It wasn’t about you. I loved that dog. It was a schnauzer. You are the last thing on my mind, trust me.

Leo: Oh yeah? Then what are you doing here?

Craig: Leo believes me in me, Chloe. And, yes, when we found out that the chief of staff position might become available, Leo suggested that I lobby for the position.

Chloe: Oh, I knew it.

Craig: Well, I’m qualified, and I need a job!

Chloe: What, why?

Craig: Because I’m bound to be fired from the one I have now thanks to your mother badmouthing me to all of my colleagues and anyone else in New York who’ll listen that I split up with her because of Leo.

Chloe: I’m sorry that she’s doing that, but that doesn’t mean that you’re entitled to Kayla’s job.

Craig: Look, you don’t understand what’s going on. Kayla refused to fire Marlena.

Chloe: And why on earth would she do that anyway?

Craig: Because the board has a problem with someone claiming that they’re possessed by the devil. All I did was I tossed my hat in the ring. If I didn’t, they’d hire someone else.

Chloe: Okay, so it’s really awful for Kayla and Marlena, but the point is, Leo put you up to this. Dad, I can’t understand why you don’t see that he’s pulling you into his schemes and his lies. Come on!

Craig: You know what, Chloe? From the way I see it, the only one scheming and lying is you.

Rafe: [Sighs] Can we do this every night?

Nicole: We can do whatever you want now that Ava’s out of the picture.

Rafe: Ah, Ava. I really thought she’d changed.

Nicole: So did I. But the way she tried framing you, that’s a bona fide Vitali move. I just hope she’s done trying stuff like that.

Rafe: You try not to worry about it, okay? ‘Cause if she tries that again, I’m ready for her.

Nicole: Well, cheers to your freedom.

Rafe: Yeah, and to us. You know, aside from the obvious reasons that I didn’t wanna go to prison, I didn’t want to miss this. A night with you.

Nicole: All right. What’s the less obvious reasons?

Rafe: Well, I was worried I might end up in a cell with Elvis, Jr.

EJ: It’s Harp, right? Milo Harp?

Orpheus: I told you to call me Orpheus.

EJ: Wasn’t Orpheus known for his musical skills?

Orpheus: And for going to hell to find his woman and coming back alive.

EJ: Hmm. Well, Orpheus, I’m afraid you’ve been misinformed. I was shot by some random drug addict.

Orpheus: Save the fake news for somebody else. Before he blew out of here, Clyde told me you know the truth. That he was responsible for your near-death experience.

EJ: Clyde and I hashed it out. He expressed remorse for what he did.

Orpheus: And he was so convincing that you said let bygones be bygones?

EJ: Let’s just say I’ve agreed not to turn him in.

Orpheus: Good move. Because I’m sure here to make sure you keep your mouth shut.

Ben: Could we talk about this when Clyde’s not in the room?

Clyde: Hey, Ciara’s entitled to her opinion. If she doesn’t want me here, we should at least discuss it

Ciara: Look, I’m sorry, it’s nothing personal here. It’s just even if you do plan on becoming this model citizen, I’m sure you have a lot of enemies that still have it in for you. And if you’re living here, they will come looking for you here, and I’m having a baby in a couple of months.

Clyde: Oh, I’d take a bullet for that baby you’re carrying.

Ciara: I don’t want bullets in this house; I don’t want any bullets anywhere.

Ben: That’s not gonna happen.

Clyde: Wait.

Ciara: How do you know it’s not gonna happen?

Clyde: Listen. I’ve been in the slammer so long that most of my enemies are dead or locked up for life. Parole board has decided that I’ve paid my debt to society, and since I really want to be around while my grandchild is growing up, I know I have to walk the straight and narrow.

Ciara: The straight and narrow. Does that seem a little boring to you?

Clyde: It looks really appealing to me right now. And I know from Ben that a leopard can change his spots.

Ciara: No, no, no, you made Ben that way. He wasn’t born that way.

Clyde: Yeah, but you made him the man he is today. So all I’m asking for is a chance to prove myself to you. The same chance that you gave him.

Chad: I was pretty surprised to run into you last night. You and your new boyfriend. So I don’t know, I just thought that maybe, you know, we could catch up.

Leo: Why? We aren’t exactly besties.

Chad: Maybe, but we had quite the adventure a few months ago.

Leo: Yeah. We’ll always have Phoenix. Abigail says you talk about that trip all the time.

Chad: She exaggerates.

Leo: She also says she caught you in drag. And that you want to get me into bed.

Chad: She’s paranoid. I’m devoted to her.

Leo: Are you? See, I have a little confession to make. Before you spotted me in the square last night, I heard the two of you arguing. And I heard Abigail say that you haven’t touched her in months.

Chad: Oh, god.

Leo: Is Abigail right? Are you having naughty thoughts about little ol’ me?

EJ: Clyde doesn’t trust me? I’m shocked, I tell you. Shocked.

Orpheus: Clyde’s not the trusting type. He’s been so frequently disappointed by his fellow man.

EJ: And what are you, his enforcer?

Orpheus: He and I have a cautious alliance. He tries my patience, but he can be very useful now that he’s on the outside. Let’s just say that I have a vested interest in Clyde remaining at large.

EJ: Well, I have no plans to do anything to jeopardize his freedom. When you report back to him, feel free to tell him I said that.

Orpheus: I will. And I’ll also be keeping a close watch on you.

EJ: Oh, I’m flattered.

Orpheus: A smart mouth can get you into trouble in a place like this.

EJ: I’ll take my chances.

Orpheus: I keep a low profile around here, but I have eyes and ears all over the place. Very little happens that I don’t know about. Keep that in mind if you decide to use what you know about Clyde. I would hate for life inside to become unpleasant for you.

EJ: Why, Milo, if I didn’t know better, I’d say you were threatening me.

Ciara: Look, I am all for you getting a chance to prove yourself and redeem yourself genuinely. I am, I just do not understand why you have to do it when you’re living in this house.

Clyde: I’d rather be on my own, too, but the parole board wouldn’t go for it. They said I had to be with family, and Ben’s the only family I got left.

Ben: If we kick him out, they can revoke his parole. They’ll send him right back to prison, Ciara. Do you think maybe we can try giving this a shot?

Chloe: I’m the one who’s scheming?

Craig: Mm-hmm. Like pretending to give Leo a chance when you had no intention of doing so. You know, Chloe, you have been trying to sabotage this relationship from the moment it started. You think I’m some kind of chump or something.

Chloe: It’s not that.

Craig: It’s gonna stop! Right now! Leo is not after my money. He and I love each other.

Chad: Okay, I’ll be honest.

[Tense music]

Chad: Since Phoenix, I haven’t been able to get you out of my head.

Leo: All this time, I’ve been living there rent-free, and I didn’t even know it?

Chad: All the attention that you gave me. The way you looked at me. Like you wanted me. It was…

Leo: Intoxicating?

Chad: Yeah, that.

Leo: So I was an ego boost? Something for you to throw in the wife’s face if she were to turn you down?

Chad: No, no, no, no. It was way more than that. It’s just that when… when someone is so into you and wants you so much… it almost makes you…

Leo: Almost makes you what? Please start finishing your sentences, Chad.

Chad: It almost makes you want them back.

Rafe: I can’t believe it. Here we are, together, and in one piece.

Nicole: I wish I could say the same thing about poor Duke.

Rafe: Duke, poor Dukie. You know, things really changed between us the night you won that bear for me.

Nicole: Not that either one of us admitted it.

Rafe: Ah, well, I hated it. I hated lying to Ava, keeping you at arm’s length. Oh, Duke didn’t let me forget any of it.

Nicole: He talked to you?

Rafe: No, no No, I would look at him and my conscience would talk to me because I wasn’t facing my feelings for you.

Nicole: Well, yeah, I think we’re both guilty of that.

Rafe: Yeah, I know. But you were married.

Nicole: Yeah, but even after that blew up, I didn’t tell you how I really felt, and there were so many days that I wanted to.

Rafe: I know. I knew, you know how?

Nicole: Hm?

Rafe: Because I felt the same way.

Nicole: Come here.

Ben: I know I’m asking a lot of you right now, and you’ve already given me so much already, but do you think maybe we could give this a try?

Clyde: Hey. It won’t be permanent. As soon as my parole officer gives the green light, I’ll find some other place to crash. And I’ll pull my weight here. I’ll help Ben with the nursery. Hell, I’ll even cook for you.

Ben: You cook now?

Clyde: Oh yeah! Make a mean squirrel stew.

Ben: What?

Clyde: I’m kidding, but you gotta try my omelet.

Ben: Look, I’m gonna say one thing, and that’s the end of it. Ciara, when I was looking for you, my dad literally shivved Orpheus to get his phone away from him just so I was able to reach you.

Ciara: I know.

Clyde: You might’ve left out the part about the shiv.

Ben: All I’m trying to say is if this guy didn’t stick his neck out for us, you and I might not be together right now.

Ciara: I might not even be alive.

Ben: I would really like to return the favor and let my dad stay here. Just for a little while.

Ciara: Oh, fine, fine, fine. Fine, you can stay. He can stay but only for a little while, okay?

Leo: Are you saying that you want me?

Chad: I don’t know, maybe. No–yes. I think, yes.

Leo: But you were so freaked out when I tricked you into thinking that we had slept together.

Chad: I think that I just–it never crossed my mind how much I might really be attracted to men.

Leo: Wow. Okay, this is quite the sexual revelation. It’s right up there with that time I saw Chris Evans kissing that dude.

Chad: Chris Evans is gay?

Leo: Sadly, no, it was his brother, but in my head, it’s still Chris.

Chad: Right, right. I understand.

Leo: Okay, getting back to you and me, Chadwick, if you had spilled all this tea in Phoenix, I would’ve been all over it and you, but I’m in a committed relationship now.

Chad: So does that mean you’re not interested?

Ben: I’m sorry you gotta sleep out here, dad.

Clyde: No, this is fine.

Ben: It’s just that the nursery’s partially set up for the baby, there’s no bed in the office, so…

Clyde: I’m telling you, man, it’s fine. Compared to Statesville, this is like the Ritz. And I really appreciate you letting me stay here. The way you went to bat for me, that means a lot. Thank you, Ollie.

Ben: You’re welcome. Hey, please don’t screw this up.

Clyde: I hear you, I won’t.

Ben: I mean it, Dad. Right now, that baby is the number one priority. If you get into anything illegal, no matter what it is, you’re out of here. Even if that means you get sent back to Statesville. You understand?

Clyde: Absolutely.

Orpheus: I’m offering you a friendly warning, EJ. And I suggest you take it seriously.

EJ: You needn’t be so cryptic. My father was Stefano DiMera. What you’re saying is that if I open my mouth, you’ll have me killed, and your people will make it look like an accident. But you don’t have to worry. As Clyde pointed out, it’s better for me that he’s out there while I’m in here. Less chance of him… [Whistles] Slitting my throat while I sleep.

Orpheus: Although, the equation changes if you’re released. And I know your lawyer’s preparing an appeal.

EJ: And I know it’s in everyone’s best interest if we let bygones be bygones. Clyde has nothing to fear from me.

Orpheus: I hope not. For your sake.

Chloe: Well, Dad, I’m sorry that I have upset you.

Craig: Well, it takes two to tango.

Chloe: What does that mean?

Craig: You think I don’t see how my coming out has hurt you and your mother? Honey, it’s not lost on me that I’ve turned our family completely upside down. I know it’s… I know it’s a lot to ask for you to see me with someone else, but Chloe, I need you right now. I need your support more than ever. And if you’re not gonna give it to me, then the one thing that I ask is that you stop interfering and let me live my life.

Chloe: Wow, those are your terms? I’m your daughter.

[Phone rings]

Craig: Dr. Wesley. Yes, yes, I– I’ll come right now, yes. That was Seth Burn. He wants to see me.

[Tense music]

[Phone line trilling]

Chloe: Hi, it’s me

Brady: Hey, how’s it going with your dad?

Chloe: Well, he just went to go talk to the chairman of the board here at the hospital.

Brady: Seth Burns, why?

Chloe: Because he’s hired my dad as the new chief of staff.

Brady: Chief of staff? What about Kayla?

Chloe: Kayla got fired.

Brady: What?

Chloe: Yeah, we can talk about that later. That’s not why I called. I don’t know, I just–I think maybe this whole plan of Sonny’s might be a bad idea. Maybe we should call it off.

Leo: Did I say I wasn’t interested? But if we were to give in to our forbidden lust, it would break Craig’s heart.

Chad: And Abigail’s.

Leo: Despite what Chloe and Brady think, I do love Craig.

Chad: Brady and Chloe don’t approve of you?

Leo: Are you kidding? Those two shady hoes? They’ve been trying to come between my honey and me from the jump.

Chad: Ugh.

Leo: If we were to hook up, Craig would think they were right that I was just using him. He would never forgive me.

Chad: [Sighs] Well, I don’t wanna screw things up for you. So maybe I’m just gonna go, and then I’ll just sleep off my buzz. Sorry, I’ll just…

Leo: Wait! He’d never forgive me if he found out.

Chad: I won’t tell if you won’t.

Ciara: I put out some towels for you in the bathroom.

Clyde: Well, thank you, sweetheart.

Ciara: You’re welcome.

Clyde: I’ll go wash up.

Ben: All right then. Hey, I know how much you still hate this.

Ciara: I don’t hate it, I just think it’s a really, really bad idea.

Ben: I know, I know you do, but you know what, as soon as you have a weird feeling, or you don’t want him here, you tell me, and he’s gone. Promise you.

Ciara: Oh, gosh, I really hope for your sake that he’s changed his ways. Because I know how important it is to you have a relationship with him, especially with our little baby on the way.

Ben: And you are absolutely right. And I couldn’t love you more for understanding. You are the best wife a man could ever ask for.

Ciara: I know.

Ben: Oh, you know?

Ciara: I know.

Leo: You really wanna do this?

Chad: You don’t know how much.

Leo: Well, Craig did say he’s gonna be at the hospital for a while.

Chad: I don’t wanna pressure you.

Leo: Oh, what the hell. I can’t resist those baby blues. I’m gonna go slip into something more comfortable. Feel free to do the same.

Chad: Sure, okay.

[Tense music]

Chad: Hey, it’s me. It’s a go. Please tell me that Craig is on his way.

Brady: Look, Chloe, I know you don’t like going behind your dad’s back, but when you’re dealing with a guy like Leo…

Chloe: Yeah, but we’re going by what happened to Sonny, but what if Leo’s actually changed? What if he actually is in love with my dad?

Brady: If he loves your dad, he’s gonna turn down Chad. If he doesn’t, your dad’s gonna walk right into it.

Chloe: My dad is so upset with me already. If he finds out that I helped set this up…

Abigail: Brady?

Brady: Yeah, hold on, Abigail wants to tell me something.

Abigail: I just heard from Chad, and Leo went for it, so Chloe’s got to get her dad there now.

Brady: Chad just told Abigail that Leo took the bait.

Chloe: Oh, okay. So he has not changed his way. He’s still slime.

Brady: We gotta get Chad out of there, so find your dad and get him home now.

Chloe: On it Hey, Dad, so I have been thinking about what you said, and you’re right. I’m gonna do my best to accept Leo in your life.

Craig: Thank you. That means the world to me.

Chloe: Well, it’s getting late. Should we walk out together?

Craig: Oh, honey, I got a ton of work to do. I really–

Chloe: Oh, come on, you’ve got it. Why don’t you just go home and celebrate with Leo?

Chad: Okay, you can do this. You just have to fake it until Craig gets here Craig, you better get here soon.

[Tense music]

Leo: Wait a minute.

Chad: I thought you wanted me to get into bed.

Leo: Oh, I do. But I gotta see that ass first. Even better than I imagined it. Now… let’s get this party started.

Nicole: Well, that was so very nice.

Rafe: Yes. And slightly more comfortable than a conference table.

Nicole: Maybe we should try a bed sometime.

Rafe: There is one down the hall.

Nicole: Can I say something first?

Rafe: Sure.

Nicole: I really love you.

Rafe: I really love you, too.

[Soft music]

EJ: Now that we understand each other, I think I’ll call it a night.

Orpheus: I’ll be in touch.

EJ: I’m looking forward to it Oh, next time, bring your flute. Love to Eurydice.

[Tense music]

Ben: You got everything you need, Dad?

Clyde: Oh yeah, this is great.

Ciara: There’s coffee made in the morning if you wake up early enough.

Clyde: Thank you.

Ciara: You’re welcome.

Ben: Well, good night, Dad.

Clyde: Good night, son.

Ben: See you.

Ciara: Good night, Clyde.

Clyde: Good night.

[Cell phone rings]

Clyde: Hello, yeah, I’ll accept. Hey, make it fast. Ben and his wife just went to bed.

Orpheus: How’s life on the outside?

Clyde: Better than life on the inside.

Orpheus: No doubt. I’m calling you because I just had a conversation with EJ DiMera. He said all the right things, but he’s got an attitude. I’m not sure we can trust him to keep his mouth shut. Before push comes to shove, we may have to eliminate him.

Clyde: Do what you have to do.

Orpheus: May I assume I have your blessing?

Clyde: You may.

Chloe: Hi, you two.

Abigail: Please tell me your dad is on the way to the Inn.

Chloe: Yeah, he should be there any minute, just in time to have his heart broken.

Brady: Don’t feel guilty. This was bound to happen. Leo did this to himself.

Leo: I cannot believe this is happening.

Chad: Neither can I.

Leo: Don’t worry, I’ll be real gentle. My lovemaking philosophy is based on the Ike and Tina turner version of “proud Mary.” We’re gonna go real nice and slow in the beginning. And then finish, well, not so nice.

Chad: You know, Tina Turner, what a wonderful artist. What other songs of hers do you like? Do you like–

Leo: Shut up and kiss me.

Craig: Leo.

Back to the Days Transcripts Page

Back to the Main Daytime Transcripts Page

<ins class="adsbygoogle"
     style="display:block"
     data-ad-client="ca-pub-1056557952271337"
     data-ad-slot="8801203268"
     data-ad-format="auto"
     data-full-width-responsive="true"></ins>

Days of Our Lives Transcript Transcript provided by and proofread by Suzanne [Soft music] Nicole: [Sighs] Can you believe this is happening finally?
