You know, I wouldn&#8217;t be here without your love.<\/p>\n<p>John: No, doc, you wouldn&#8217;t be here without the love of your entire family.<\/p>\n<p>Sami: So, what are you thinking?<\/p>\n<p>Lucas: I was just thinking that this is going to be a really great year&#8230; if you meant what you said.<\/p>\n<p>Sami: Yeah. I meant it, every word. I&#8217;m done with ej for good, and I wanna be with you&#8230; if you&#8217;ll have me.<\/p>\n<p>Allie: Happy new year.<\/p>\n<p>Tripp: Happy new year. And happy new year.<\/p>\n<p>[Chuckles]<\/p>\n<p>Chanel: At least for you guys, it&#8217;s happy.<\/p>\n<p>Allie: I thought johnny was going to be down in time to toast with us.<\/p>\n<p>Chanel: That&#8217;s what he said, but obviously he&#8217;s not here, so whatever&#8217;s keeping him must be more important than his first kiss on new year&#8217;s eve with his wife.<\/p>\n<p>[Ominous music]<\/p>\n<p>Demon johnny: Happy new year, salem. You didn&#8217;t think you were getting rid of me that easily, did you? Oh, marlena, I can&#8217;t wait to see the look on your face when you find out I haven&#8217;t gone anywhere. And I can promise you, as well as anyone else who thought i was gone for good, it&#8217;s gonna be a hell of a new year.<\/p>\n<p>Male announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.<\/p>\n<p>[Soft orchestration]<\/p>\n<p>Lucas: What do you mean &#8220;if I&#8217;ll have you&#8221;? Of course I&#8217;ll have you. I love you. You know how much I love you. You&#8217;ve always known that.<\/p>\n<p>Sami: Right, but I just kept pushing you away.<\/p>\n<p>Lucas: But this time is different. I mean, it is different, isn&#8217;t it?<\/p>\n<p>Sami: It is different, okay? I&#8211;I know what I want now.<\/p>\n<p>Lucas: All right, just to be clear, all right, you&#8217;re not kissing me and making big plans because you&#8217;re frustrated that ej kidnapped you, right? I mean, this is about us. It&#8217;s about you and me. It&#8217;s not about payback or&#8211;or revenge or&#8211;or the clock striking midnight. Okay, that was a really good answer. But&#8211;but listen to me, please. I was 100% in when we started this, when we reconnected. And you were ashamed. You were humiliated. You didn&#8217;t wanna tell anybody, and you told me you never wanted it to happen again, and now here you are.<\/p>\n<p>Sami: Yeah, well, I&#8217;m all in now, okay? I just felt guilty, so guilty, for cheating on ej that it just blinded me to the truth&#8230; that I love you and I respect you, and&#8211;and you respect me, and that is so important to me. Okay? You&#8217;re my soulmate, and you always have been.<\/p>\n<p>Lucas: I know that, i believe that, but do you believe that? Or are you going to go running back to ej again like you always do? And&#8211;and then he becomes your soulmate all of the sudden. Then what happens to me? What happens to me? I&#8217;m left nursing a broken heart again because of you?<\/p>\n<p>Kayla: Uh, kate, I&#8217;m&#8211;I&#8217;m glad that you&#8217;re celebrating with us tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Kate: So am I. I&#8217;m hoping I can hire you to&#8230; find kate&#8217;s son.<\/p>\n<p>Allie: Maybe johnny still hasn&#8217;t forgiven me for being a jerk about you guys getting married.<\/p>\n<p>Chanel: No, you heard him, it&#8217;s all good. And I know he&#8217;s really glad you guys came over to make peace.<\/p>\n<p>Tripp: Maybe it&#8217;s just that he&#8217;s still not feeling well.<\/p>\n<p>Chanel: Yeah, yeah, it could be that he&#8217;s sicker than he let on. You know what, I&#8211;I&#8211;I&#8217;m going to go check on him.<\/p>\n<p>[Dark ambient music]<\/p>\n<p>[Eerie notes]<\/p>\n<p>Demon marlena: Whoa! No!<\/p>\n<p>John: Doc? Doc?<\/p>\n<p>Marlena: John?<\/p>\n<p>John: Doc, is it really you, honey?<\/p>\n<p>Marlena: It&#8217;s me. It&#8217;s me. You saved me. You all&#8211;you all saved me.<\/p>\n<p>Demon johnny: That sanctimonious family and all their drivel about love. Well, they may have driven me out of marlena but her grandson is all mine now, and he and i pick up right where marlena and I left off.<\/p>\n<p>[Maniacal laughter] Ah&#8230; this is the sound of nature breathing.<\/p>\n<p>[Ominous music]<\/p>\n<p>Chanel: Johnny? Hey. Hey, are you all right?<\/p>\n<p>Johnny: Uh, yeah, yeah. Fine.<\/p>\n<p>Chanel: Okay, good. I&#8211;I was afraid that you still weren&#8217;t feeling well.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny: No, no, no, I&#8217;m&#8211; I&#8217;m&#8211;I&#8217;m&#8211;I&#8217;m totally fine now. It just, uh, took me a while to get dressed. How do I look?<\/p>\n<p>Chanel: You look great. And that suit! That suit is fire. But johnny, you missed the midnight toast and our kiss.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny: What? Is it&#8211;it&#8217;s that&#8211;it&#8217;s that late already? I&#8217;m sorry, I must have, uh, lost track of time. But, um, nothing says that you and I can&#8217;t have our new year&#8217;s moment right now. Happy new year, mrs. Dimera.<\/p>\n<p>Kate: You don&#8217;t need to hire steve to&#8211;to look for philip.<\/p>\n<p>Steve: Well, actually I&#8217;m already on the case.<\/p>\n<p>Kate: So, what does that mean? That someone else hired you to look for philip?<\/p>\n<p>Steve: I got a call from brady earlier today, and he wants me to track kristen down.<\/p>\n<p>Roman: What&#8217;s that got to do with philip?<\/p>\n<p>Steve: Brady and chloe believe that kristen framed brady for philip&#8217;s murder. Now, if that&#8217;s true and I can track her down, she might have the answers we&#8217;re looking for.<\/p>\n<p>Sami: I know this seems out of nowhere, and I know that i can be impulsive, but lucas, I&#8211;I promise you this time it&#8217;s different, okay?<\/p>\n<p>Lucas: God, I hope so.<\/p>\n<p>Sami: I know so. I do. I finally see ej for who he really is. It&#8217;s what you&#8217;ve been saying to me all along. And now that I&#8217;ve seen it, I can&#8217;t unsee it. I mean, he&#8217;s the kinda man who would kidnap me and throw me in a&#8211;a locked room for months. I couldn&#8217;t see my family. I couldn&#8217;t see all the people that I love. I can&#8217;t love someone who would do that to me.<\/p>\n<p>[Tense music]<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m gonna get you back, ej. Whatever it takes. Gabi? Is anyone home?<\/p>\n<p>[Gasping] Lucas? What&#8217;s wrong?<\/p>\n<p>Trelegy for copd.<\/p>\n<p>Steve: So the theory is that kristen is so mad at brady for ending things with her, she staged the whole thing.<\/p>\n<p>Kate: There was so much blood.<\/p>\n<p>Roman: Yeah, but, you know, whatever kristen was guilty of in the past, you know, her, uh&#8211;generally her M.O. Was not to kill. She&#8217;s more into hiding people.<\/p>\n<p>Steve: That&#8217;s true. And that&#8217;s why I think that kristen is holding philip prisoner somewhere while this thing plays out.<\/p>\n<p>Kate: So you believe that philip&#8217;s still alive?<\/p>\n<p>Steve: That&#8217;s the premise I&#8217;m working off of. And I&#8217;ll do everything I can to bring him home to you.<\/p>\n<p>Roman: You okay?<\/p>\n<p>Kate: I&#8217;m&#8211;I&#8217;m sorry, I just&#8211;it&#8217;s&#8211;it&#8217;s&#8211;it&#8217;s just a lot to absorb.<\/p>\n<p>[Sighs] Do you&#8211;do you mind if we just call it a night?<\/p>\n<p>Kayla: Of course not.<\/p>\n<p>Kate: Thank you.<\/p>\n<p>Kayla: It was great to see you&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Roman: Okay.<\/p>\n<p>Kayla: And happy new year.<\/p>\n<p>Roman: Yeah.<\/p>\n<p>Kayla: I love you.<\/p>\n<p>Roman: I love you. Kate, if philip&#8217;s alive, I&#8217;ll deliver him to you personally.<\/p>\n<p>Roman: [Exhales] Well, that&#8217;s great news. If anybody can find philip, steve can.<\/p>\n<p>Kate: Steve&#8217;s not going to find philip.<\/p>\n<p>Roman: You don&#8217;t know that for sure.<\/p>\n<p>Kate: I do know it. I know exactly what happened to philip, and I know exactly where he is.<\/p>\n<p>[Soft music]<\/p>\n<p>Allie: This is the best new year&#8217;s I&#8217;ve had in a really, really long time, maybe ever.<\/p>\n<p>Tripp: Me too.<\/p>\n<p>Allie: But I am wondering what happened to chanel and johnny?<\/p>\n<p>Tripp: If johnny really is sick, maybe I should go check on him.<\/p>\n<p>Allie: He seemed fine before. Maybe we should give them their privacy.<\/p>\n<p>Tripp: Well, that would give us a little more time to celebrate on our own.<\/p>\n<p>Chanel: Hello. What are you doing?<\/p>\n<p>Johnny: I&#8217;m trying to make love to my wife. Can you think of a better way to ring in the new year?<\/p>\n<p>Chanel: No, but you&#8217;re the one who invited allie and tripp to stay to share a midnight toast that you never showed up for.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny: Oh, yeah. Right, uh&#8230;sorry, I&#8211;I must have forgot.<\/p>\n<p>Chanel: Are you sure you&#8217;re okay?<\/p>\n<p>Johnny: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Fine. So, what do you say we go celebrate this new year?<\/p>\n<p>Lucas: Wrong? There&#8217;s nothing&#8211;nothing wrong, not at all. I mean, do you have any idea how long I&#8217;ve been waiting for this moment?<\/p>\n<p>Sami: [Chuckles] Oh!<\/p>\n<p>[Laughs]<\/p>\n<p>Lucas: This is gonna be the best year ever. It&#8217;s gonna be a great year.<\/p>\n<p>Sami: Yeah, it is. And I&#8217;m so glad, lucas. I&#8217;m just so happy I know that i can trust you, I know you&#8217;re gonna be honest with me. You are the best man I know.<\/p>\n<p>Lucas: Well, don&#8217;t make me out to be a saint, because I&#8217;m not, so&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Sami: I know you&#8217;re not a saint, but you are my rock. You were there for me during the whole allie situation. I mean, oh, my god, that whole thing that happened with charlie dale? You kept me sane.<\/p>\n<p>Lucas: Well you plead guilty to a crime you didn&#8217;t commit, so, eh, not so sane there.<\/p>\n<p>Sami: Yeah, well, maybe sane is a relative term. But then when we were locked together in that dimera dungeon I really thought we were going to die, and&#8211;and you were there for me, you comforted me, made love to me. And like an idiot, I still went back to ej. I&#8217;ve wasted so much time, and i don&#8217;t wanna waste another second.<\/p>\n<p>Lucas: All right, so, what does that mean? What are you saying?<\/p>\n<p>Sami: I wanna leave salem. Now.<\/p>\n<p>Get ready. It&#8217;s time for<\/p>\n<p>the savings event of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Roman: [Chuckles] So philip framed brady for his own murder? And that&#8217;s why you&#8217;ve been holed up in your room? You were hiding philip?<\/p>\n<p>Kate: Yes. Yes, I was. And now victor and I are doing everything we possibly can to get him the help he needs.<\/p>\n<p>Roman: Yeah, well, I&#8217;m&#8211;I&#8217;m all for philip getting help, all right, but are you sure this is the way? There are a lot of people worried about philip, mourning him even. Are you really okay with letting those people think that philip is dead?<\/p>\n<p>Kate: Roman, I am so sorry about it. I really, really am. But&#8230;philip is my number one priority, and it&#8217;s just a decision I had to make.<\/p>\n<p>Roman: Yeah, a decision you didn&#8217;t think you could come to me with?<\/p>\n<p>Kate: Roman, I just didn&#8217;t wanna burden you with it. I didn&#8217;t wanna force you to lie.<\/p>\n<p>Roman: Kate, listen to me&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>[Sighs]&#8211;You could&#8217;ve told me. You, your well-being, that is my priority.<\/p>\n<p>Kate: Well, you know now along with lucas and&#8211;and victor.<\/p>\n<p>Roman: Yeah, would you have told me had I not asked steve to look for philip? Or did that force your hand?<\/p>\n<p>Kate: Roman I feel so guilty about not telling you, I&#8211;i really, really do, but you know now, you know, and I&#8211;I can&#8217;t tell you what a relief it is to me, because now we can go into the new year and there are no secrets between us, none. But please, I have to ask you not to tell anyone about this, because if you do, philip and i could be in a world of trouble.<\/p>\n<p>Marlena: Mmm, you know, I&#8217;ve never felt safer than I do right now.<\/p>\n<p>John: Mmm.<\/p>\n<p>Marlena: I love you so much.<\/p>\n<p>John: Only half as much as i love you, doc.<\/p>\n<p>[Knocking on door] Oh, brother.<\/p>\n<p>Marlena: What? What?<\/p>\n<p>[Laughter]<\/p>\n<p>John: Coming! Coming!<\/p>\n<p>Marlena: That better be a pizza.<\/p>\n<p>John: Coming.<\/p>\n<p>Steve: Happy new year!<\/p>\n<p>Kayla: Happy new year!<\/p>\n<p>Steve: Hope we&#8217;re not stopping by too&#8211;too late.<\/p>\n<p>Kayla: We were driving by, and we saw the light on, and we thought we&#8217;d like to say happy new year in person.<\/p>\n<p>John: Never too late for you&#8211;we&#8217;re just enjoying a quiet little celebration at home. Get in here, get in.<\/p>\n<p>Kayla: How are you doing?<\/p>\n<p>Marlena: Um&#8211;oh. Oh&#8211;[Chuckles]<\/p>\n<p>Kayla: [Chuckles]<\/p>\n<p>Marlena: I&#8217;m glad you&#8217;re here. You know, john has been filling me in on some of the things that happened, and, uh, I just owe you such a huge apology.<\/p>\n<p>Kayla: You don&#8217;t owe us anything. As a matter of fact, you&#8217;ve already apologized so many times.<\/p>\n<p>Marlena: I couldn&#8217;t apologize enough. You know, as I said, john was filling me in on stuff and some of it I remember, and there are so many things that I&#8217;ve clearly never realized or&#8211;or forgotten. Maybe it&#8217;s a very good thing that I&#8217;ve forgotten those.<\/p>\n<p>Allie: Well, since johnny and chanel are so occupied, maybe we should just head home.<\/p>\n<p>Tripp: Hm.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny: You don&#8217;t wanna ring in the new year with your favorite brother?<\/p>\n<p>Tripp: Oh, there you guys are. We were starting to worry.<\/p>\n<p>Allie: Wow, where did you get the suit?<\/p>\n<p>Tripp: Yeah, that is some kinda sartorial statement.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny: Well, chanel and i just got back from the fashion capital of the world. What better souvenir? Except maybe this.<\/p>\n<p>Chanel: [Laughs]<\/p>\n<p>Allie: Well, you seem to be feeling better.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny: Like a million euros, so, uh, let&#8217;s get on with the celebrating, shall we?<\/p>\n<p>Allie: Yeah better late than never.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny: Yeah, sorry about that, uh, memory lapse. I totally spaced on the toast thing, um&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Tripp: Hey, nah, I&#8217;m glad to see you made a speedy recovery.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny: Absolutely. Nah, it&#8217;s just jet lag. Uh, but what better way to cure some jet lag than celebrating with my loved ones? Wife?<\/p>\n<p>Allie: I&#8217;d like to make a toast.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny: Ooh, can I stop you there before&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Allie: Okay, very funny. To two of my favorite people in the world, my brother and my sister-in-law, which is so weird to say, but I will get used to it. I wanna apologize again for being a jerk. I love you both so much, and i sincerely hope that you guys have a very long and very happy marriage.<\/p>\n<p>Chanel: [Chuckles]<\/p>\n<p>Johnny: Brava. Salud.<\/p>\n<p>Lucas: Hold on, hold on, uh, of course I wanna be with you. I would do anything to be with you. But why do we have to move? We live here. Our family&#8217;s here. Our daughter&#8217;s here. Our grandchild?<\/p>\n<p>Sami: Yeah but this is about you and me right now. We should be able to be together with no distractions.<\/p>\n<p>Justin: As in ej you mean?<\/p>\n<p>Sami: Well, yes, fine, ej. I mean, he&#8217;s out on bail. When he finds out that we&#8217;re together, he could come after you the same way he came after me.<\/p>\n<p>Lucas: Fine, let him come after me, I don&#8217;t care. I can handle ej. I don&#8217;t sweat it.<\/p>\n<p>Sami: I know that you can. I&#8217;m just saying, we don&#8217;t have to put up with him, right? We could go to europe if we want to. We&#8217;re adults, we can do whatever we want. We could go to phoenix and visit will and sonny and ari. We could buy a house somewhere out west.<\/p>\n<p>Lucas: Wait a minute, you wanna buy a place?<\/p>\n<p>Sami: Yeah, sure, why not? But you know what, I don&#8217;t care where we are, lucas, as long as I&#8217;m with you.<\/p>\n<p>Lucas: As long as we&#8217;re not here, you mean.<\/p>\n<p>Sami: You know what we could say goodbye to everyone first thing tomorrow morning and be gone before ej even realizes what happened. What do you say?<\/p>\n<p>Woman: Life&#8217;s been hard enough.<\/p>\n<p>Roman: Kate&#8230; I would never wanna do anything to hurt you, but if brady went to jail?<\/p>\n<p>Kate: No, no, no, no, no. That won&#8217;t happen. After victor and I rescinded the document we signed to declare philip dead, it forced trask to drop the charges against brady. So brady&#8217;s free, philip&#8217;s getting the help he needs, and victor and me and lucas and you are now the only ones who know that philip&#8217;s alive.<\/p>\n<p>Roman: Yeah. I just wish the people who care about philip could know the truth too, just for their own peace of mind.<\/p>\n<p>Kate: It&#8217;s too risky.<\/p>\n<p>Roman: Yeah. Yeah, I know that, yeah. I&#8217;m just glad you trust me enough to open up to me like this.<\/p>\n<p>[Sighs] You&#8217;re a mother who is just trying to protect her son, and I definitely get that. So, yes, kate&#8230; I promise. I will keep your secret.<\/p>\n<p>[Solemn music]<\/p>\n<p>Marlena: You know, what&#8211; what I&#8211;what I do know about the havoc that I wreaked just terrifies me. And I don&#8217;t know how I ever apologize for putting tripp in a&#8211;in a coma or&#8211;or&#8211;or what i did to you.<\/p>\n<p>Steve: No tripp&#8217;s just fine.<\/p>\n<p>Kayla: And-and I&#8217;m fine too. It was a&#8211;it was a simple bump on the head, nothing more. I&#8217;ll tell you what really shocked more, was when&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>[Suspenseful music]<\/p>\n<p>Marlena: Was when what?<\/p>\n<p>Kayla: Never mind, you know, I really shouldn&#8217;t have brought it up.<\/p>\n<p>Marlena: No, it&#8217;s all right. You were shocked when&#8230;what?<\/p>\n<p>Kayla: When you kissed me.<\/p>\n<p>Marlena: When I what?<\/p>\n<p>Chanel: I&#8217;m so happy you came over, horton.<\/p>\n<p>Allie: I wasn&#8217;t sure how you guys would feel about us just showing up, but I felt horrible for going off on you and johnny and the way that I did, so i had to come over and make things right.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny: This just sealed the deal.<\/p>\n<p>Allie: Well, I&#8217;m just happy everything&#8217;s cool with us again.
