No need for apology.

Brooke: Honey, nobody is blaming you for wanting to get to know your father better. You have a big heart, and you want to see the best in people, but you can’t be vulnerable to deacon. I know that’s not something that you want to hear.

Ridge: Your mom is right. He’s conned his way through his life, he wasn’t here, he didn’t raise you.

Deacon: I wish I could have been there more. I tried. I did, not hard enough. Look, I’ve made a lot of mistakes, I admit that, but I didn’t come here to make excuses, I came here to see you, see you all grown up. Hope, you’re a mother and a wife, you have your own clothing line. I am so proud of you. You deserve every success, every happiness in the world. And the fact that we were able to keep in touch through your letters, it meant a lot to me. And the fact that we’re able to do this, it’s incredible, but I love you too much to cause you any pain. It’s obvious what your family thinks about me, so i’ll tell you what. I’m not gonna cause any trouble. I’ll take off. I want you to know two things. I think about you all the time, and I will never stop loving you, because you’re my daughter, and nobody can take that away from us.

Ridge: See, that’s a speech, right? It’s good, it was long, but it was good. Where did you rehearse that, on the bus?

Deacon: See, there’s that winning personality I missed.

Ridge: And what do you know about winning?

Brooke: He’s just trying to protect hope.

Liam: Which is something ridge has done her entire life. Can you say the same? Can you?

Ridge: All right, time’s up. Let’s go.

Hope: Dad…

Deacon: It’s all right, honey. But, I may have made a playlist.

Steffy: Ooh, really?

Finn: Oh, yeah. All your favorite songs.

Steffy: Yeah?

Finn: Yeah, and none of the kids ones. I love those but we’re not listening to those–

Steffy: Oh baby, you really do love me. I can’t, I can’t either.

Finn: I love you more than you can imagine.

Steffy: I love you. I think we’re, we’re pretty good at this, you know, this whole marriage, kid thing.

Finn: Yeah, we are.

Steffy: Yeah, I know we’ve had some bumps along the way, but I truly feel like we got past all the hard stuff. The big one, obviously, sheila. That was a big challenge we weren’t anticipating, but I really think she got the message. She cannot be part of our family.

Brooke: Honey. What were you thinking?

Liam: I mean, did, do you really think that was safe? Bringing deacon into our home?

Hope: I can’t believe you are trying to talk me out of this.

Brooke: For good reason!

Ridge: Hey. I know he’s your father, but he really isn’T. He’s a low-life criminal. You don’t need him in your life.

Bartender: What can I get ya?

Deacon: What do you got?

Bartender: A boyfriend.

Deacon: Ouch. Lucky guy. What’s your name?

Bartender: Molly.

Deacon: Okay, molly, uh, you know what, I’ll have a soda and lime. Eh, you know what? Screw that. Make it a tequila soda and lime, the starting point for all great decisions.

Molly: You got it.

Sheila: Excuse me. Could I get a vodka martini up, a little dirty with three olives, please?

Molly: Coming right up.

Deacon: Figured you more for a pina colada.

Sheila: Right.

Deacon: Sheila? Sheila carter?

Sheila: Deacon.

Liam: So, why did you contact him?

Hope: Look, I get that none of you are fans of his, and that is why I didn’t want you worrying.

Liam: Look, it’s not that. I didn’t even realize you were interested in pursuing a relationship with your dad.

Hope: Well, I wasn’t sure about it then, and I’m still not sure. I haven’t seen him in years, and I haven’t had that much of a chance to get to know him as an adult, but I don’t know, now that I have children, something changed, okay? I can’t explain it. I felt compelled to reach out to him, and to try to make an effort to understand him better, and that is why I started writing him letters. That is all. Believe me, I am not trying to excuse what he has done in the past.

Brooke: Honey, you can’t count on him. You can’t believe one word that comes out of his mouth.

Ridge: Maybe he didn’t ask you for money today, but it will happen, the day will come.

Hope: Okay, do any, any of you trust my judgment?

Liam: It’s not–

Hope: At all!

Liam: Hope, it’s not about your judgment. It’s the fact that he has only ever failed you, so why would we let him do it again?

Brooke: Honey, let this be it. Don’t have anything more to do with deacon.

Sheila: You know, I am surprised to see you, deacon. I thought they locked you up and threw the key away.

Deacon: And I thought they carted you away in a straight-jacket. What, they kick you out for being too crazy?

Sheila: They kick you out for being an idiot?

Deacon: What, are you kidding me? They loved me in the joint.

Sheila: I’ll bet you they did.

Deacon: Ha ha. I mean the guards, I had them wrapped around my finger.

Sheila: Do you remember when you almost got me thrown in prison?

Deacon: Oh, you’re not still holding a grudge, are you? Come on, sheila, that was a long time ago.

Sheila: The forresters thought that I am the one that shot at quinn. But, it turned out to be just another one of your crazy, crazy schemes.

Deacon: One of my, one of my schemes? Are you kidding me? I’m a boy scout, compared to you. I mean, look, the forresters might dislike me, but they despise you. You’re like #1 on their enemy list.

Sheila: Yeah, well, what about you? Is somebody gonna come charging in here and drag your ass back to jail?

Deacon: Not that it’s any of your business, but I’ve been released. Free and clear.

Sheila: Then why are you in such a lousy mood?

Deacon: I went to see my daughter.

Sheila: Is that hope?

Deacon: Yep. I want to have a relationship with her, but brooke, ridge, and her husband made it pretty damned clear that that’s not going to be in the cards.

Sheila: Wow. Looks like you and me have a lot more in common than we thought.

Why hide your skin if dupixent

Finn: Look at him. He’s still awake.

Steffy: Well, he’s slowly falling asleep. He could be ready for the club… but–

[ Laughing ]

Finn: Just when you think we’re going to get some alone time, he’s like, “no, no, no, you don’T. Sorry mom and dad, no.”

Steffy: He’s such a charmer. So cool, you know, seeing him do something new everyday.

Finn: That’s what makes being a parent so rewarding.

Steffy: Mm hm, it’s such a huge responsibility, but honestly, it’s worth the anxiety. Just look at him. So helpless, you know? So sweet. I just feel like I… go into, you know, mama bear mode.

Finn: Hm. You’ll do anything for your kids.

Steffy: Yeah.

Finn: We both will.

Steffy: I hope you feel the same way. Sheila can have no role in our lives. No communication whatsoever.

[ Phone dinging ]

Hope: Well, is something wrong?

Finn: It’s her.

Hope: Sheila?

Hope: Have you considered that maybe I kept this from you because I wanted to explore the possibilities on my own?

Brooke: Honey, there are no possibilities where deacon is concerned.

Ridge: He is the same loser he’s always been, he hasn’t changed.

Liam: I know you want to believe he can change, but you know, the stakes are pretty high, right? So, what if your mom and ridge are right about this?

Hope: You’re all acting as if I don’t know my own father. As if I didn’t grow up hearing the stories about how he has been reckless and dishonest and selfish in the past, but that doesn’t make him forever irredeemable.

Brooke: The only good thing he has ever done is help create you.

Ridge: And that’s it. He’s a lost cause.

Liam: But hey, you tried, right?

Hope: It is not that easy for me to give up on him.

Brooke: I understand, honey, but you have to. Look at the wonderful family that you have with liam, the life that you have. Do you really want deacon coming in here, and causing chaos?

Liam: Especially when we have our own kids to think about, now?

Hope: Look, I get why you are all concerned, but no matter what he has done in the past, it doesn’t change the fact that he is still my father.

Deacon: I can’t see my daughter.

Sheila: I can’t see my son.

Deacon: You have a son? What did you, adopt a turtle?

[ Sheila laughing ]

Sheila: I gave birth to a boy a long time ago, and he just married steffy forrester.

Deacon: For real?

Sheila: Mm-hm.

Deacon: Wow.

Sheila: But I’m forbidden to see him.

Deacon: Well, I can’t really blame him there.

Sheila: Yeah, well, you know, I can’t blame brooke and ridge either, for not wanting you to be a part of hope’s life.

Deacon: The forresters, you know, they’re so high and mighty.

Sheila: Yeah, it’s like they’ve never done anything wrong in their privileged, little lives.

Deacon: Are you kidding me? They’ve had, they’ve had more scandals than everybody in this place, combined.

Sheila: Yeah, are we really that bad? Don’t, don’t answer that. Don’t answer that.

Deacon: I wasn’t going to.

Sheila: What if, what if we come together on this? Put our heads together and come up with something where we both get what we want.

Deacon: Wait a second, are you suggesting that you and I work together? Wow.

Sheila: You should be flattered that I even considered it.

Deacon: Creeped out is more like it. I just got a chill crawling up my spine.

Sheila: What spine.

Deacon: Very funny.

Sheila: You need me, deacon.

Deacon: Yeah, like a hole in the head.

Sheila: Look at you. God, you’ve been given a new chance at life, and you’re sitting here feeling sorry for yourself, moping around with your, your tail between your legs. God, are you really going to let the forresters win?

Deacon: I don’t give a damn about them. All I care about is hope.

Sheila: Well then, don’t give up. I’m not.
